I specifically choose the “dealers choice” that did NOT show the car would be electric and when I got there I was told all “dealers choice” cars are electric. Seems intentionally deceitful to have 2 nearly identical listings where the only difference is one shows electric and the other does not.

Long wait time, there were only three people in line 2 associates at the desk and it still took almost an hour to pick up a pre checked prior reservation. Feels like it should be speedier than what I experienced.

The staff was helpful and courteous at pickup and drop-off. When we picked up our first car, it wreaked of cigarettes, the agent was happy to upgrade us to another available car. It took loading and unloading onto 3 cars but we found one that didn’t have any major issues. Overall satisfied, just wish it didn’t take loading in and out of 3 cars with a family of four to find one that was acceptable. ***I did notice, most of the offending vehicles were from NY.***

There was a chunk of the tire missing when we went to pick it up. We drove 13hrs and the rotors and brakes were in terrible condition and the tires had no tread. The wheel would shake when trying to stop. Very upset budget couldn’t take the time to look over brakes and rotors before customers came to pick the car up. I was surprised we made it to our destination safely it was that bad

Cons:

The only problem I had was it was difficult to know where to return the vehicle as national was doing all the check-in’s for enterprise and that made it a little weird to get back to the location. It would’ve been helpful if they would’ve given a little more information on that.

We dropped off in a different town than pick up. We were not exactly sure where we were going in that city. We needed to drop off at a closer location in that city for convenience and they accommodated. Staff was so nice at pick up and drop off locations.

Didn’t have cars in the class I reserved and prepaid, so was forced to take a lower class vehicle. Also, no fully charged vehicle was available, so I had to accept one with 3/4 battery charge. The car was filthy. They made numerous attempts to upsell me other options/services, and when I refused they tried to suggest it was not optional. I continued to refuse to pay extra above my prepaid amount, and they eventually relented. However, as a result, it took 45 minutes from the time I got to the counter to the time I drove off.

Pros:

Staff were very friendly and helpful! And the price was right.

Cons:

I wish there were a sign that indicated where it was safe to ride over the spikes. We ended up parking outside of the rental location so that we didn't ruin our car. It was also confusing which care rental location to use, because the location on Google Maps no longer exists -- it's now an Amazon location and there's no entrance to the public -- and there were two different car rental locations that listed "Payless" on their signs, so we wasted time driving around until we made some sense of the confusing issues, and we eventually picked one location to see whether it would work out, without knowing for sure that I was in the right place until I actually got inside. Two different people driving around the airport asked me where to find the Payless pickup booth when I still had no idea, so it seems like the setup is a bit confusing in general. PLEASE fix your Google Maps entry, and PLEASE update your signs to make it clear (1) where to go for Payless pickups and (2) where to drive without destroying your car's tires.

the car that was given to us has a scratches and dents on the front (most probably caused by an accident), the interior of the car smells like someone smoked inside.

Staff was friendly, and was able to quickly accommodate my request to extend an extra day, and honored the same rate as the first day.

Cons:

A bottle of water would have been a nice touch after being dehydrated in the air.

Dollar has a scam - I showed to pick up my car and they say we only have an EV (which I couldn’t take). They then say we can give you a gas car if you pay an upgrade fee of $35 per day. Total scam that exploits traveling people. Will never use them again.

Our flight was delayed, landing us about 30 minutes after Dollar closed for the night. Before our flight departed, I called the Dollar location directly to inform them. If they wouldn’t be open, I was going to cancel my reservation and book with someone else who would still be there. They assured me it wouldn’t be an issue, and took down my flight information. As soon as we landed, I called again, and nobody answered. We waited for the bus to show, but it never did. They closed at their regular time, and left us stranded. Then, because we didn’t cancel before the time we were supposed to arrive, they refused to refund the money since we prepaid. I would not rent with Dollar again.
