They allow you have a carry-on luggage and a personal item, unlike some big name airlines that charge you $25 and force you to check your carry-on. They serve water/drinks quite a few times during a few hours flight, and the flight was on time."

Cons: "An obnoxious couple (or at least I thought they were at first) sat across from me while I was waiting quietly at my gate. They were being very loud and annoyingly silly (adults acting like giggly teenagers). They were taking each other's phones and throwing them across the way onto the floor, just being as annoying as they possibly could be. Then the girl got up and that's when I noticed they both worked for Alaska. So unprofessional. (I also realized they weren't a couple after all because she later was asking if his wife liked his mustache. LOL) Some of your employees need to be trained to act like professionals representing your brand. I was thoroughly repulsed. And, as mentioned above on previous flight review, I was not thrilled to find out my luggage never even made it onto my flight from San Jose. I was very polite and understanding about it even though I was bummed. I will say Katie at baggage claim in Austin was really sweet and personable with handling the situation. I didn't get the other girl's name that was with her, but they both were excellent employees. You should be proud of those 2. I got a call the next afternoon that my luggage had arrived that morning. I was told it would go out at 5 and I'd see mine by midnight, or 1am at the worse case scenario. Well, 1am came and went. After 1:30, I called and the nice gal who answered tried calling and even texting the delivery driver. She apologized and said that a lot of times the drivers do not answer and do not reply to texts. That's pretty pitiful. She gave me the number as well. I did call and did text them, and surprise, no effort was made on their part to answer and give me an ETA (I needed to have my luggage that night for work). By 4am, my luggage had still not arrived, and I could no longer stay awake playing the waiting game. Luckily in the morning, it was magically on my doorstep, but I'm really irritated that Alaska didn't get my suitcase on my flight to begin with. Needless to say, I don't have plans to fly your airline again anytime soon."

This was confusing to most passengers. They did get our luggage on the carousel quickly but passengers were waiting for it so show up on the board in baggage so they would know what carousel number to wait at."

Pros: "On the way there for some unknown reason the stewardess told me your drink is on me. On the way back when checking into my flight one of the chicken people saw me in line and saw that I had a rifle case with me and asked me do you have a firearm, I told her yes I do. She asked me what type of firearm I had in the case and why was transporting it I told her my uncle had just died and I had come to Boise to pick up my Boyhood rifle. When I finally got to the counter and the attendant saw my retired military ID she said to me, sir because this item is bereavement related and because you're a military veteran we would like to waive the special item fee. Before I boarded I asked if a first class upgrade was available and how much would it be. I was told it was $50 but none were available. I was then told for $16 I could move to a more comfortable bulkhead seat behind first class. I asked for the upgrade and the attendant told me you know what I'm not even going to charge you for it. Halfway through the flight an attendant came back and told me we have extra one from first class that we're just going to throw away would you like a free glass of wine. Later I was offered a second glass of wine. Free kayak I got a good deal on my flight and then Alaska Airlines to very good care of me because I am a veteran and my cargo was related to bereavement. I couldn't ask for better treatment."
Cons: "I like just about every aspect of the service from Alaska Airlines and the many discounts and freebies I was handed in route. I really like the way they showed me preferential treatment because of my military retired status. There's a lot of people who play lip service to veterans and then there's a few who really put their money where their mouth is I really appreciated that. I almost teared up because of how well I was treated."

Friendly staff, comfortable and clean flight/experience

Very late

Flight attendant in first class could be more friendly .. she looked annoyed throughout the flight and didn’t seem like she wanted to be. Need work in the customer service department. Same for my outbound flight. Otherwise the flight was on time and got to where I needed to go.

However, I will also be filing a claim with the airfare app to seek reimbursement for the enourmous inconvenience this delay caused."

Cons: "The fact that I was 3 minutes late to check my bag (due to a line and walking to the wrong counter the first time) and they would not allow me to go on my original flight and route my bag on another flight. This resulted in me and my bag getting pushed on two new flights and my overall travel time going from 4.5 hrs to 11 hrs which with a 15 month old is an eternity. Many other airlines will allow you to make exceptions when checking in late (I was still nearly 40 minutes prior to flight departure) and let me still check a bag OR allow me and my baby to stay on the same flight without the bag."

Pros: "I LOVED the comfort of the ample seating space and leg room, compared to American and free WiFi and movies with the individual monitors on the seat backs for every passenger. I flew Jet Blue on my return flight from LA to Boston to attend our son’s USC graduation. The flight from Boston to LA was on an American Airlines flight. The seats were super narrow with very cramped leg room. To add insult to discomfort , I learned just after take off on the American flight to LA that our dogs got loose at home and the person caring for them was frantic. I had to purchase in flight WIFI ($16/ hour $18 for the entire flight) to attend to the Lost dog issue (hugely stressful) only to learn after the flight that $300 worth of fraudulent charges occurred during the flight that my bank’s fraud department claims occurred as a result of entering my card information to purchase the internet access. That depleted the majority of our travel budget. (We live paycheck to paycheck and had pinched & saved to be able attend this special event) I was so apprehensive on the returning flight and can’t describe my relief to learn the WIFI was free. My fears dissolved as did my aching head and back as I settled into a wonderfully comfortable seat with far more leg room than my prior flight. Thanks Key Blue! You have a fan for life!!"

Pros: "Delta is the airline to fly if you have to fly (like I did) during a pandemic. They made sure at every turn we felt as safe as possible. They had passengers distanced from each other the whole time, handed out sanitizing wipes as we walked on the plane, made sure folks kept their masks on, gave us individual little baggies with snacks and water bottles that also had individual hand sanitizer packets. I felt so much more safe flying Delta on my way home to Hawaii in July than I did when I flew American Airlines on my way to the mainland in June."

To go to Australia, Denver TSA waived the removal of shoes, skipped the scan for the metal detector and no one touched me, ditto for LAX on the trip to Sydney. Where's the uniformity or standards for TSA?? Why did I have to be subjected to this garbage on the way home?? This is why I despise flying. It makes no sense to me. This ruined what was a great vacation."

If a customer has a short layover, which their system knows about since it is the sourve of the flight plans, put the customer toward the front of the aircraft since these flights are habitually late and customers end up having to sprint through airports to try to make connections."

Cons: "While my experience with Virgin Australia was good, I will not book with them due to the co-share with Delta Airlines. I missed my connecting flight from LAX to JFK due to additional security screening. As such I was advised to head to the Delta terminal to be booked onto the next available flight to NYC. After waiting over an hour in line to be seen by a staff member, I was told that they couldn't change my ticket as it was a Virgin flight. The same staff member didn't seem to even understand the concept of 'co-share', and also told me that because I booked through Kayak and not Delta that they could not help me. This makes me think that booking through a third party is a risky move. I was told there was absolutely nothing she could do, and that I would have go to a Virgin Australia Counter. This involved taking all of my luggage from Terminal 5 - all the way to Terminal 3. I was assisted by Virgin Australia, where they apologized for my experience, and confirmed that it was Delta's responsibility (and that they were capable) of rebooking my flight. Virgin booked me onto a later flight, but I still had to walk back to Terminal 5 (Delta) to give them my checked luggage. I was once again told that I didn't have the right ticket (details listed Virgin and Delta flight number - so this was way too confusing for them). Finally they printed my a boarding card and took my bags. I then ran through security and to gate in time for my flight. Flight was fully booked, due to a many people no doubt experiencing the same thing. Food was awful. Was a big step down from the Virgin flight in every aspect. There was not a single Delta Staff member who would even try to understand or be helpful. I will never fly with Delta again."

(I understand I have to collect it on arrival into another country and then take to a bag drop) but with the same airline they claim they can't do this? I travel a lot and with many other flights internationally and I can tag my bags with different airlines all the way through, but NOT WITH VIRGIN WITH THE SAME AIRLINE ALL THE WAY THROUGH? They can't do it? Then 2 hour delay on the tarmac after taxiing out from the gate at LAX, which got us in late to Brisbane. The food on this leg LAX-BNE for the vegetarian option was terrible, which was strange as on the fist flight over from BNE-LAX it was the best vegetarian food on any flight I've ever had. Strangely 6 months out from our flight I tried calling Delta to upgrade our tickets and was told they had no way of doing it as the Delta computer system isn't linked Virgin system. Then calling Virgin to upgrade I was told I can't as it is a Delta ticker. We tried again a week out from the flight and got the same response and told to try at check-in. We tried then at check in and told they have no idea how to do this as only so many seats are allocated to Delta tickets and they can't access the Delta system?? So very frustrating and we could never upgrade?"

There are several other examples of misinformation in their movie listings. For parents who use the ratings as one piece of information to guide their children, it would be nice to have correct information when making selections. this problem is not new; it's been this way for over a year now. I hoped that over time they would get it right, but alas, it remains inconsistent at best."

Employees walked through the line at security forcing everyone to consolidate their belongings to one bag. I had a large wallet in my hand and was told I had to step out of line to put it in my backpack. They only allow you one bag to carry on without paying extra. At the time of boarding they announced that the overhead storage was full so even those that paid extra were still forced to check their bags. The plane was dirty, the service was slow, overall just gross. They don’t have WiFi or in flight entertainment so I paid the $20 to purchase the WiFi. It was worthless. I couldn’t stream anything, even music kept stopping to buffer. I understand it will be slower then on ground WiFi, but it was impossible to watch anything and a complete waste of money."
Cons: "American Airlines won't let you buy emergency row exit seats (or bulk head) because the 'code share' prevents them from advance seat sales. I was told I could do it at check in in Los Angeles. But those seats were sold out long before we even got to LA! I contacted American Airlines Customer Relations about 1 month prior to my flight. I completed their online form detailing the problem and asked if there is any way I could buy extra leg room seats. But they never even bothered to respond. I got the automated email acknowledging receipt of my complaint and assuring me I would be contacted soon. NOT!!"

If I was a few pounds heavier it would have been impossible. You'd think they would warn a customer of the narrower seat. It's so obvious that it's all about profit for the airlines which sickens me."

JAL or AA should have given travel vouchers to everyone who needed them. BAD SERVICE, BAD COMMUNICATIONS, BAD RATING."

I asked for a blanket and was advised they didn't have any. I was so cold the entire flight that I still have a cold due to the flight. I froze the entire flight. I stuffed my arms in my shirt and let my hair down for warmth. Also, I learned my lesson. Pack my own blankie for comfort. I checked my carry on in Aruba due to overhead capacities. My bag had my sweatshirt and the blankie Delta bankie I acquired when I flew from SFO to ATL."

Cons: "The flight was delayed 4 times. The airline was not very helpful during times of delay - normally airlines would offer food or drink vouchers - none of that. The flight was delayed for a total of 4 hours. When I arrived into LAX, I had requested if I could go on an earlier flight if there was space (rather than catching the later one - an hour later). They asked me to pay $200 to change it. Fair enough if you want to charge me for a change of ticket - but then the plane that I was supposed to go on got delayed for 3 hours and you don't offer any sort of compensation - thats really not something I expect from American Airlines"
Cons: "When we got off the plane in LA from Sydney they told us our flight to Boston was cancelled, and the next avail option home was in 12 hours. We spent two hours with them and on the phone trying to work out different options to get home sooner, when they brought the flight back again, cancelled it again and then eventually brought it back. The customer service agent on the phone said the flight was on, while the agent on the ground said it was cancelled. They were all confused. Caused an unnecessary amount of stress and work. Would make me think twice about ever flying with American again"
