Delta and Alaska re the way to fly out of slc

Terrible experience with my last flight. Delayed then canceled left me stranded in Ghana March 8th. I cannot contact Delta (in Ghana or US)

Shelly gave us good service. Check in however was another story. Quite the disappointment actuslly

The first leg of the trip, flying from ft Lauderdale to atlanta was ok except for the pilot having to circle around bc he was too close to the airplane in front to land. This made us supposedly late to our connecting flight which by the way was not supposed to leave before 8:10. My husband and I arrived at the gate about 10 minutes before only to be told that the door was locked. Needless to say, we weren't the only ones. When we got up to the desk, the attendant was extremely rude. I was having a conversation with my husband about a dog that had just passed us . She immediately made her way into the conversation asking me what i was saying. I told her I was talking to my husband about the dog and under her breath said : " I'm sure you were." I then told her that i was more than sure about what I was talking about. We get booked on another flight and my seat was the only one without a working monitor. We asked the suitardess to see o If there was anything that could be done They tried to reset it to no avail. Since we didn't say anything else, it was forgotten about. My husband shared his screen with me so that I wasn't totally bored on the flight. Not the way I wanted to start off my birthday but I'm glad that nightmare is over Delta really needs to retrain their employees on customer service bc it leaves a lot to be desired!"

Cons: "Plane was diverted back to Toronto from LaGuardia airport as we were told due to "weather", landed late at night and were told that due to not being able to control weather WestJet could not assist with accommodations, leaving everyone stranded and scrambling to find a room in alreday booked up hotels. When speaking on phone with agent, I was told it wasn't due to weather but incident at LaGuardia where plane went off runway. I paid $130.00 for 5 hours in a hotel, due to pilot error, not weather. La Guardia opened it's other runway immediately after and other airports in NewYork were running fine. Completely unacceptable and extremely bad customer service as CSR simply told us "sorry we can't help". Will never book with West Jet again."

Cons: "The boarding process is very confusing. There are so many different boarding priorities and programs, it is difficult to know where you are in the boarding process. Even if you have a ticket labeled as Group 1, you may still be one of the last boarded because of all the different programs that have priority over you. Would be better to limit the advance boarding to people who need extra help and a single program. This leads to the question, why are there so many different programs? Wouldn't it be easier to have a single loyalty program? If you don't qualify for advance boarding because you did not purchase a first class seat, or you haven't reached the advance boarding requirements, you don't qualify. Let's start thinking about the customer again, and less on the profit margin. How would one of your executives feel if they had a boarding Group 2 and 85% of the plane was already boarded by the time your group was called, thereby limiting the space for your correct size carry-on? One more thing that would be beneficial, enforce the size limit for carry-on luggage. I have been to airports that limit the size with a box on the x-ray machine so you can not even get an oversized piece of luggage through security. Just one idea for the industry."

Which I can understand. What I don't understand is why they continued displaying a mute TV set for three hours. Why not just shut it off? The flight attendant, Angel lives up to her name- what an angel! I love her! She was so helpful and attentive and patient. My daughter spilled some juice on her shorts and not only did Angel help me clean up my daughter, she did not hesitate to pick up my daughter’s dirty shorts and neatly packaged it away for me! She went above and beyond her future to provide THE BEST customer service and flight I’ve had in over 20+ years of flying. Thank you, Angel, please continue to excel at exceptional customer service professional!

I paid extra $60.00 after I had paid $25,00 for the first bag when I could have put the flexible kipling inside the Jansport if she had listened to me. The flight delayed after I was unable to defend myself and paid an unfair feer."

It was not a service dog in the sense that it was all over the place--on my feet and in the aisle where it tripped a stewardess more than once and she told him it couldn't be in the aisle. So it pushed over to my seat because the guy was just to big to share his legroom. It shredded napkins the man dropped which a trained dog would not do. it bounced his tray table up causing him to drop his two vodkas. I had to have the stewardess tell him to move his arm and body out of my seat so I could stow my tray for landing. When waiting for my ride outside the dog was off lease and ran into the pickup lanes where the man had to chase him down. A true service dog would never behave like that."

If the customer service representatives are not Empowered enough to rectify such an egregious inconvenience, then why do they exist?"

After the plane arrived, it took the crew quite some time to get all of the passengers off. When we did get on the plane, there was another long wait because they were short on bag rampers. After all of the delays, my plane exited Denver at or around 10:50 a.m. Throughout all of this the stewardesses were quiet and didn't explain the delays. It wasn't until quite some time that I requested as to why we hadn't left yet. There were more issues when the flight arrived in Indianapolis. It took approximately 10-12 minutes until the jetway was even connected to the plane. Finally, I'm off the plane and I get to the baggage claim and I was there waiting for my bags for about 30 minutes. It's the first time that I've had any of these issues as a flyer and it's also the first time that I've used Frontier. This flight isn't one of my first flights either as the military has had me flying all over the US in recent months. Looking at this experience, I think that has more to do with the company itself rather than a random flight experience."

I didn't know that I would be expected to pay to carry on my small backpack and tiny suitcase until it was time to board. At that time, the customer service girl told me that it would $120 to check in my two tiny carry ons. She called for help and another woman told me that I would "only" have to pay $60 for the suitcase (which is the most outrageous baggage fee I've ever heard). At that point, I handed my ticket to the woman at the counter and asked her to charge my ticket. When I tried to board, I realized that I didn't have my ticket so I went back to get my ticket from the woman - she LOST it and needed to reprint it. When I got home, I saw that in addition to the $60 bag fee, they charged me $2.50 to print my ticket! Frontier's business practices are deceptive! Sure, the tickets were about $100 cheaper but having to pay extra for baggage fees and dealing with delayed flights makes it not worth the money at all!"

While at the departure gate, the Frontier rep at the kiosk informed everyone in overly casual vernacular that, "looks like the flight will be delayed an hour or so because the crew feels tired, and doesn't want to fly another leg, so we're going to try try to find another crew." In other words, you'll be late not because of weather or anything out of Frontier's managerial control. Quite the opposite - you'll be arriving late because we're incompetent at organizational management of human resources. An hour and fifteen minutes delay followed, with some confusion. Arriving in DC, we enjoyed that same fresh honesty when the Captain announced, upon pulling aside the gate, that, "Folks I'm not sure what's taking the gate crew so long, but there doesn't seem to be anyone pushing the ramp out for us to exit - please hold tight." That was after 10 minutes of mysterious inaction. Another 30-40 followed. Finally, after an accidental "ping" that prompted passengers to stand--only to be told to sit back down as the plane wasn't affixed yet to the gate--everyone stood on the second, correct announcement to offload. If only. They then tried to get passengers to sit back down b/c a different Frontier crew and a pilot needed, from their middle seats, to get off first. Passengers started booing. I've seen a flight like that. Didn't even describe one truly out-of-line passenger up front who lost his temper and refused to comply. Again - a very memorable experience. And not in a good way."

The flight attendant did nothing to help me be reaseated or clean my seat. After a passenger vomited, the flight attendant did not help the passenger by providing anything to cleanup. The aircraft stank of vomit as we sat in the runway for 15 minutes. The flight attendants woke me up to sell their credit card, but not to provide refreshments/water. The announcements went on for over 10 munutes. My seat was surrounded by screaming and crying infants and nothing was done to help those mothers calm their children down. The seats had very little leg room for anyone my height and taller (5'9"), despite having to pay for the seat. I will not fly Frontier ever again. The upfront low price doesn't reflect the baggage, carry-on, and seat add-on fees, so it's very deceiving."

The crew was friendly and unlike the flight TO Miami (delayed by almost 2 hours for maintenance reasons---the a/c was not working and the airplane was very hot. Luckily everyone was told to return to the gate and wait for the problem to be fixed) this return flight was actually early! The plane was clean and in good condition."

Having to pay for something as simple as coffee or a small snack (what happened to free peanuts and pretzels?) seemed a bit excessive also so i was extremely disappointed at this also. Also, the trays on the seat backs were EXTREMELY small, just about big enough for a tablet so I am not sure who the airline is saving that space for?.. Again, this is a great airline for short flights but I don't know if i will be using them for a long flight in my future unless they have aircraft's with more comfortable options."
