During the flight there wasn't much turbulence so that's a plus for me, the snack was pretty good, the attention and amability from the flight crew was incredible.

Cons: "My flight was supposed to be on May 26 but I got bumped! The counter at Lax was completely UNDERSTAFFED! At one time the three customer service representatives were stuck with ‘difficult cases’ for over 20 minutes - the line did not move AT ALL! With roughly 75 passengers in line this is unacceptable. I sprang into action and demanded quicker service from the supervisor Seth telling him that people are going to miss their flights. He showed no people skills and decided to be confrontative, inquiring since when I was in line and telling me that I should have come earlier; he did admit that he was understaffed that day but could not do anything about it. After having waiting in line for 1 hour it took the representative too long to check out my Covid Test done by the company AA partnered with - and because of a missing ‘entry registration’ and the use of my married name on the Covid Test instead of my maiden name on my passport ( I had documentation to prove the validity of both names) I stood no chance to rectify any of it as the cut off time for the flight had approached. Instead I was issued a ticket for the next day. No smile, no empathy - I really felt treated like cattle...When I came to the same counter the next day the wait to see a customer service representative was 10 minutes!!!! Which proves my point that they were completely understaffed on May 26! And I had to get a hotel at LAX! On the flight on the 27 May I found the breakfast on board to be very disappointing: no bread, no deli meat and no cheese but yoghurt instead."

Cons: "American isn’t my preferred airline for obvious reasons (delays, notoriously bad service, old planes, and a lack of amenities like WiFi and tv’s), but now I’ll never spend my money with them again. They took me off an already delayed flight after I’d already boarded to examine my smart bag. I know that lithium batteries can’t be taken in the underbelly of the plane and I knew my bag would likely be checked at the gate (why I removed the battery and left it at home in the first place). When they asked me if I had a lithium battery in my bag I said “no.” They then gate checked the bag and allowed me on the plane. After everyone had been boarded (half an hour after we’d been scheduled to take off) they then called my name out on the speaker. I had to then de-board the plane and re-explain to staff that there was no lithium battery in my bag. The staff didn’t believe me citing the infallible logic: “there are ports so there’s a battery.” I told them again and again that the battery had been removed and the charging ports—while there—were inert as they weren’t attached to the battery. STILL, I had to remove all of my clothes from the bag, and open every single compartment (of which there were many) for them to allow me to get back onto the plane. They were telling me that they might have to “rebook the flight” if my bag couldn’t get on. I don’t think I need to explain how agitated/terrified that made me."

This particular attendant very rudely informed us it was not, and we needed to check it. When we tried to explain the previous flights she responded with “I just explained this to the other passengers...it’s not allowed.” We didn’t argue, and gave the bag to the personnel in attendance, but the tone for the duration of the flight continued."

Cons: "Lost our baggage while on our honeymoon. We were told it would show up to our destination the following morning and we would receive a call upon its arrival. Baggage didn’t show up until three days later and we had to retrieve it at the airport. Was given incorrect information numerous times, also several of the customer service agents were very impolite and not helpful whatsoever. Not a great experience, will do my best to avoid flying AA in the future."

Cons: "Diverted through a second security screening after landing in Miami from Kingston. We had only been sent a check in notification by AA for the first flight, which we opened the QR code and used to get on that flight. The scan however meant we had to have boarding passes ready and the QR code did not work for the second flight and AA did not send a check-in email for the second flight for us to use. We had to run back through the airport and check in for the next flight. Almost missed our flight due to flawed system."
Cons: "When you are running late to make the flight it’s stressful enough. The last you need is an employee at the gate telling you that your caused the flight to leave late. By the way we took our seats and waited about 15 minutes before we pulled away from the gate and landed early. Airlines should recognize this is stressful for their customers and be trained to handle it differently. Furthermore most delays are not caused by customers. Also don’t charge $10 for a stale sandwich."

I watched my wife's screen for a whole movie and then re-asked a different attendant if they would mind restarting my screen. He did, and it loaded."

Thanks. •Overall, there are too many other choices in airlines... I may just be one customer, but this is one less they'll have, as other major carriers haven't ever racked up this amount of annoyances in a single trip with me before."

Pros: "Flight attendant, Billy, on flight to Chicago encouraged everyone to help each other figure out how to manage close connection times due to a long delay leaving Charlottesville. He then arranged for folks with short times to move forward. We would never have made our connection without him. Gate agents also kept the door open for us as we dashed to our connecting flight and hustled us on board. Amazingly the ground crew also got our luggage transferred in the short 10 minutes we had. Thank you American!"
Cons: "LATAM took our luggage from a flight from a different airline that we used to get from Miami to Orlando. They locked it up and closed before we arrived. My friend was unable to get his medicine, I missed vital time from a work contract, and we had to spend the night at the airport waiting until 1pm today to receive our luggage. This is the worst experience I've had with an airline. No one spoken with on LATAM seemed to care. We were stranded without sleep and got no clear answer from the LATAM hotline. There was no mention of compensation for our troubles. I will not be recommending this airline to other travelers aa this has ruines my work schedule and my friend is unable to get his medicine."

Cons: "I arrived to the airport Two Hours early. I had checked in online and obtained my boarding pass. I checked into Japan Airlines since this was the airline I chose. I get to the counter and I was told that I had to check into American Airlines. I rush to American Airlines and I was directed to check my bags in electronically. There was mass confusion, because people had no clue on how to operate the system. As my turn approached the system failed. By then I had 45 mins to board. I talked to a clerk and she directed me and the other people to the Custumer service desk. I waited my turn and time to board was approaching. They told me not to worry because the flight was delayed one hour. By the time I got to the counter, It was too late to board the already delayed flight. I spoke to a clerk via phone as i was at the counter and I wsa told I was to receive a refund due to the fact that this was not my fault. You caused a financial loos of money and time. as of yet I have not received my refund."

Cons: "We arrived at St Stomas airport 85 minutes profile to our flights departure. The female manager, Latoya, at the desk was overly rude and completely out of line the way she was speaking to guests. Apparently American Airlines requests 90 minutes before departure to check you in, however their website does say they will try to accomadate customers that have arrived late. This employee refused 24 people access to the flight that we had booked and paid for. She related that she could put everyone on standby for the next and final flight out of Saint Thomas and standby for multiple connecting flights from Miami to many different parts of the country. This is because American Airlines over books their flights on purpose and has no problem leaving people stranded at an airport. Another employee related that it was easily accomplished to confirm is for the flight as we would have plenty of time prior to boarding since the aircraft had yet to arrive from its original location. American Airlines would not speak to any of the paid customers and would not look into other flights to see if there were other options to get customers home. When we boarded the plane there were still 4 customers that American Airlines stranded at the airport with no more flights out of the airport that day. This was an absolute disgrace and it was disgusting to see how the American Airlines staff were treating people. Their companies customer service has nothing to say other then sorry. I will never fly American Airlines again and now know why so many other people also feel this way."

Then our incoming flight was first from San Diego, then Los Angeles. The arrival was delayed several times. Then our boarding was delayed several times. By the time we we in the air, we were even later. The flight was so turbulent, there was no food or beverage service, which isn't important anyway since that has become a token gesture by airlines anyway. . If this was an isolated incident, I could ignore it but it seems that this almost always happens when I fly United."
