This was a customer service fail. American is no better. They rescheduled the flight at no cost, but then sent you back to LATAM for help with the overnight. If we buy tickets from your website and you own the process, you should be more helpful when there are problems. The back-and-forth was frustrating. Lima airport takes a long time to go through all the checkpoints. Two hours does not give enough time. There are at least four long lines that have to be endured. This process could use some streamlining."

It was of size to cram into my carry on so I did that, but American staff demonstrated concern, had a sense of humor and helped me get a comfortable seat to sort of take some of the sting away. All that was great of them I was aware of being in an upgraded seat. No complaints, but it stung a little because I was deeply aware of the reinforcement of class. The small, extra comforts were wonderful and I wish everyone had them while risking their lives together over the ocean - especially the extra room At times, on the way over I felt a claustrophobic panic. But to stay positive, they were kiind, sympathetic, funny, sweet. I appreciate them."

Cons: "At the Lima gate they made each passenger open their carryon and submit to a secondary inspection to confiscate all water we bought past security. No warning was given about this. I had paid airport prices for water to bring onto the plane and then had to surrender it at the gate. Of course in economy class they will not give you water or attention until you are at cruising altitude. More than one flight attendant did not smile and one was actually rude in spite of my attempts to be kind and smile. Except for one friendly person at check-in kiosk, bad service overall. They do not have personal entertainment systems, and it was like going back in time with the tiny screens you cannot see, playing a movie you either watch it or not."
Cons: "My flight from SFO to Miami was delayed so I missed my connection to Rio and now I’m NYC on my birthday instead of my final destination. The flight status was changed 7 times. And AA said they would get my bag off but they did not and now I have to wait at JFK and hope it got rerouted here. And if it didn’t to hope it can on another flight before I hopefully actually get on a flight for Rio. Nobody has comped me for losing a day in Rio and for my hotel room. And this has been the worst flight exeperience or my life which unfortunately landed on my birthday. One I’ll remember in a sad and bad way. American Airlines refused to compensate me because I got my tickets via Kayak and I haven’t been able to find a number to complain to a Kayak agent whom I sure would say I had to contact American Airlines and nobody would help or take responsilvitu for this disaster."

When we went to pick them up the next day there were only four pieces at the airport. We were told the fifth suitcase would be delivered when it was located. It's ten days later and there's no sign of the luggage. It has taken multiple phone calls to get the information about the luggage correct. They assure me that they have everything correctly documented and then when I call back they haven't changed a thing. It has been a very frustrating process overall."

All and all I have come to expect a better experience from American Airlines in First Class. The ticket was expensive."

I had to actually call American and spend time with a Representative providing all the data to be able to get my American Airlines flight booking code so I could check in online. American as always was great! Shame on Kayak!"

She made me put my laptop in my backpack and the carrying case as well. The boarding pass didn't assign a seat to me and told me that I have to get another boarding pass at gate.. Simply unacceptable. I am a frequent flyer with Frontier and Spirit pirit, thanks to those Airlines which never treated me bad and gave me hassle like United did. No more United for me ever. WiFi was advertised but never worked inspite of me wanting to pay for it."

I was suppose to land in BJX At 6am on Friday April 28th for a family emergency and now my next flight isn't till 1pm! This is the worst flight experience I have ever had in my life. Never in my life will I ever fly with united again. My plans got ruined, I was forced to sleep on the cold dirty floor of LAX. This cost me a lot of time and money, and I am upset about it. I will tell all my peers about this horrible experience and encourage them to never fly with united ever again. I do expect some sort of compensation over this horrible experience."

Cons: "Upon approach we were suddenly deverted to Seattle. I had a few issues. Number one you could not hear the pilot so that made it worse. The lack of communication was horrible. I have been on flights when there has been clarity given a change in plans but this was bad. We sat at the gate for an hour and a half, again no real communication, the fligh attendant t hope was joking when he said there was a half a bottle left for the whole plane...much later we were served water. Announcements were made but no clarity. We were told to collect baggage at number 2. Get a voucher for a hotel. After deplann9ng about 25 of us stood in line at the customer service desk where there were two staff working slowly. Then after an hour they announced we were in the wrong place, couldn't that have been explained earlier? Once we made our way out of the terminal to the ticket count the line was all the way down the hall. still with little info we waited. We landed at the alternate airport at 945, at 130am I had my vouchers, the food not useful until the following day, the hotels were full, no one picked up the phone for the shuttle bus to the hotels. I finally elected to sleep at the airport on a bench. We had actually all been reassigned a flight on our same plane. So I am not sure why we had to wait in line all that time. Our bags were not removed from the plane an irritated baggage claim attendant told me. It was a mess. The flight the next morning was fine, short, without problems for me. united needs to work on its communications. It would have been helpful to have someone out side running the line giving out info. And at customer service they should have been paying attention to their line. Would have been helpful."

Pros: "Regardless of product, the 787 is by far the most comfortable aircraft in the sky. Obviously you can't compare UA Economy to EY's "Residence" on the 380, but once you're comparing similar products across different aircraft, the 787 blows all the others out of the water. This is because of the higher cabin pressure, higher cabin humidity, and relatively enormous windows at eye level. Even UA can't ruin the 787 experience with their snippy staff (I almost found myself apologizing for asking for the little bag of snack mix that I missed out on because I was snoozing when they first came around) and ear-splitting announcements. The flight was delayed due to a mechanical, and the staff at NRT was very helpful in getting us to where we needed to be."
Cons: "The plane had a mechanical issue that they had to sort out after we pushed back. This was not so bad, but they changed their minds about whether we would take the original plane or switch to a second 787 that had flown in on NRT-DEN so many times I lost count. This is why I gave the "boarding" process poor marks--please just figure out whether we need to get off (we didn't need to, but did anyway) and whether we are going to switch to another aircraft before letting everyone off. The staff at NRT failed to consider moving the DEN-HKG passengers to a ET NRT-HKG flight (which surely had available seats) that was parked next door. Instead, we were all put on a HND-HKG flight leaving about five hours later than the ET flight."

Pros: "This aircraft is like magic. I love the magic windows that tint to your comfort and through which you can still see the Aleutian Islands at "night" when everyone is still trying to sleep. I love the higher pressure and the higher humidity in the cabin that makes you feel merely "tired" after a trans-pacific flight, as opposed to "exhausted," as you would feel after a 747, 777, 330, or 380. Please don't tell United this, but I would pay a large premium to fly the 787, and I'll take it through DEN to get from NRT to SMF, even though it would be much faster through SFO or SEA."
Cons: "Well, it was still United. Saw one crewmember picking his nose (he would have gotten dismissed upon landing at SQ or CX). The downside of the crew override on the 787's windows is that they sometimes leave the cabin "dark" even while they're serving the pre-arrival meal under full cabin lighting. I often have to ask them to release the controls."

If you're travelling with someone and you don't pay for seats and you wait until the end to be assigned then you won't end up sitting beside the person you're travelling with and I must tell you the response I got from them was that they're busy and they have no time to deal with this. Then there is the flight crew, through the flight all I could hear is the flight crew talking about how they are on a waiting list and something about becoming a full attendant and every other word was accompanied by a bad word. I would file for a refund if I thought that would get me anywhere. Sorry Kayak I like you but from now on I'll be going direct to American Airlines. By the way! The CEO of Frontier is the former CEO of spirit...That alone should tell you stay AWAY."

Frontier's idea of first class is what every other airline would call coach. There is so little leg room or room in front of you that I couldn't lay my head down on the tiny little excuse for a folding tray. Additionally none of the chairs leaned back. Not that they could as you would be in the lap of the person behind you.so I had to sleep on a red eye for 4 hours sitting straight up on hard plastic, crammed into a row like sardines. I will never fly frontier again."

Pros: "Literally nothing. There was nothing about it that I liked. There were things that I didn't really mind, like the uncomfortable seats and no food or drink service in flight. I mean, that's not something I liked, but that's not how I choose what airline to fly with."
Cons: "I had a flight from Seattle to Miami with a layover in Denver. There was a staffing issue which caused the flight to be delayed 2 hours, causing me to miss my connection. Crystal, the customer service manager, explained that the customer service agent in Seattle was instructed to put most of us on different flights so we could get to our destination faster and she’s not sure why that didn’t happen, she then explained that I had two options: 1. Get on the next flight to Miami, departing the following night at 11:55pm, or 2. they refund the cost of my ticket ($234). That doesn’t sound too bad! I pulled out my laptop, found a flight for $219 with United that departed the next morning, showed Crystal, and said I’d just take the refund. Crystal then informed me that they can’t issue refunds at the airport and that I had to call some number to get my refund… during regular business hours. The following morning I called the number and spoke with a supervisor named Arnie. Arnie explained that she can only process refunds that are submitted by a customer service agent at the airport and wasn’t able/willing to help me. So I go back to the airport and talk to Scott, the manager at the ticket counter. Scott explained that Frontier messed something up with the staffing which caused the delay, Scott actually said the words “the delay was totally preventable.” He then explained that he did have the ability to give me a full refund, but that he wasn’t going to because while I paid for service from Seattle to Miami, and Frontier only provided service from Seattle to Denver, that because some service was provided, even though it wasn’t what I paid for or what I wanted, that the transaction was perfectly fair. I had to burn another vacation day for work, sit in the Denver airport for 24 more hours, and according to Scott, Frontier should have prevented this, and still, Scott assured me that this was perfectly fair. I then spoke with Martin, a condescending manager at the customer service center, who eventually told me that he authorized the full refund! However, he refused to put it in writing “company policy to never put anything in writing”, but said I could call the refunds dept to verify. So I did. I talked with Jen, a supervisor in Frontier’s refund dept who informed me that Martin does not have the authority to give me a full refund and it’s not in the system. Jen asked me to hand my phone to Martin to talk to him, but Martin refused to talk to her and eventually told me that Jen was right and the best they could do was request a refund and I’d be notified in 10 business days as to how much they decided was fair, Jen estimated that would be $35 - $80 of the $234 ticket… so I guess Martin was just lying to me to not have to deal with me. At the end of the day, if there is anything I am sure of, it’s that if something does go wrong, you can be absolutely sure Frontier will do absolutely nothing to try to help you- even if it was 100% their fault."

They refused to communicate with us as we waited. They were completely understaffed and left a single employee to handle this. His ineptitude delayed the entire flight and stranded passengers remained stranded. Horrible, incompetent, disorganized, and completely Spirit's fault."

The seats on this plane were excruciatingly uncomfortable. No cushion to the seats whatsoever. The tray table, if you could call it that, was about 4 inches wide - couldn't even set my crossword book on it. the man in from of me spilled his drink all over himself and the aisle because it's so wonky. 4 hours on this plane and my neck, back, head hurt. The plane fares are not low enough to make up for this. I actually PAID for this seat above and beyond the original fare. WTH"
Pros: "I liked that the one hour and 56 minutes layover in FL was only less than an hour. I liked that the pregant woman who had a child less than two years of age seated on my left and the mother of the mother seated to my right whose child was less than a year old was considerate enough of the rest of the passengers to go above and beyond to try to keep their children quiet. They endured very much uncomfortable positions due to lack of space to suceed and meet their expectations of child quietness . they both get a well done from me. It could have been a big noisey problem."

There was a crying baby for a long time on the red eye and I felt they could've offered the mother some help but they didn't do anything. Then the mother tried to stand up after we had landed but before the seat belt sign had gone off and the stewardess freaked out on her. Could've handled the situation much more professionally. The seats suck, the tray tables suck, not having a complementary beverage sucks, and paying for carry on bags sucks. But that's Spirit and everyone knows that is why they suck."
