Flight was delayed by one hour, then another 1/2 hour then cancelled and changed till the next day. We were not allowed to get our luggage & put up in a dirty hotel. I had cockroaches in the bathroom. When I finally arrived home…i noticed the airline had damaged the zipper on my suitcase. An awful awful trip thanks to American Airlines.
Cons: "The past two times flying with American out of Dallas my girlfriend and I have been separated on the flight. The first time we were able to be placed with each other but this time the attendant at the counter basically told everyone that because the flight was booked and there were so many people who had the issue that she could not move anyone around to be with their families. That on top of being rude to many of the flyers just makes the DFW experience with American feel like they don’t care about you."

I pray that Lisa is working on my flight home!"

As I felt like I didn’t have a choice I checked my bag reluctantly knowing I had a gift for a friend inside and continued boarding. As I boarded I was highly irritated to see more than 5 available overhead spaces for carry ons. I asked the steward why they made us check bags when there was still space and she barely stopped to answer and just said they have a monitor up front that tells them when it’s full. Clearly the monitor was wrong and common sense would lead me to at least take a look before LYING to paying customers. I was very hurt to see the gift I had just bought for my friend was broken when I opened my bag at baggage claim."

We arrived in Boston at 12:02 am, 11 1/2 hours after our arrival at JFK from Rome. This was not a very friendly welcome home. We never would have booked such an extended delay as we only live 4 hours from New York City."

Nothing is complimentary (not even soft drinks or a bag or pretzels,) drinks are super expensive, there is no hanging options for your suits/dress (so don't bother to dry clean before you come) and there is no entertainment options at all. Also, when picking your seats do not pick the seats with only two thinking that you will have a window seat next to your travel partner- instead the third seat by the window is where you will be sitting with the flight attendant. Overall, it was the worst flight experience of my life."

On top of that they were rude, unhelpful, and after the 12 hour delay, DELAYED THE FLIGHT AGAIN. They would not help with anything. They simply blamed the "ash" that apparently didn't affect any other airline but Spirit. Never ever using them again."
Cons: "My flight to Costa Rica was delayed over four hours due to a computer panel malfunction. Spirit "compensated" us passengers with a $50 certificate which was good only on another Spirit flight that you had to book within 60 days, and a meal voucher which only came after we had waited so long that we had eaten anyway. In my opinion, they wanted to appear as if they were trying to do something for us while actually giving us nothing of any practical value. My return flight to Fort Lauderdale was scheduled to depart at 12:30 PM. We arrived at the airport and waited over an hour in line to be told that the flight had been delayed until midnight due to a volcanic eruption. The only information they would give us was that we were supposed to come back at 9:30 PM to see if the flight would be departing. They did not offer us any amenities or any other options other than to sit in the airport for 12 hours and wait. At our own expense, my mother and I went and got a hotel room so we could at least be comfortable. We returned as instructed at 9:30 PM, and there were no Spirit airlines employees at the airport. They did not show up until 10:30 PM. We waited another hour in line, learned that our flight was delayed yet again, and basically sat in the terminal until we were finally allowed to board at 2 AM. Now I understand that a volcanic eruption is completely beyond anyone's control, however Spirit appeared to be the only airline operating out of this airport who could not figure out some sort of an alternative to accommodate its passengers. When we came back as instructed at 9:30 PM, we were the only passengers in the entire airport. Yes, the entire airport was empty except for us, and a few security personnel. And Spirit airlines did not even bother to show up until an hour later. Now, if this lengthy delay was really due to volcanic conditions, why did every other airline operating out of that airport figure out a solution? You would think that after such unpleasant experience, the airline would at least offer you some free snacks? Well, you would be wrong. They would not even offer us so much as a bag of peanuts or a cup of water for free. Let me also say that when my mother and I arrived at the hotel we had reserved so that we could wait more comfortably, we explained the situation to the girl at the check-in counter and she asked what airline we were flying. When we told her, she rolled her eyes and gave us a look that said "oh, them again!" According to her, this kind of thing happened twice a week on a regular basis I already had a very low opinion of spirit airlines because of their mercenary pricing tactics. They post a low fare to get you to buy a ticket with them, then they hit you with all kinds of ridiculous fees to make up the difference. For an airline ticket that was less than $400, we had to pay nearly $110 in extra baggage checking and seat selection fees. Then they switched our seats anyway."

Pasamos de ilusiones y luego desilusiones durante horas. Amo viajar y nunca en mi vida me había sentido tan estresado como viajando con Spirit Airlines. No solo fue el atraso del vuelo, sino que también salíamos a las 12:45pm de San José, hora a la que usualmente creo que todos almorzamos, y no se les ocurrió darnos de comer sino hasta las 6:00pm (hora de Costa Rica) y yo no se si según ellos por darnos una latita de Pringles y un vaso de Coca Cola ya se nos iba a olvidar el terrible atraso que tuvimos. Cuando llegué al aeropuerto de Miami noté que habían roto una rueda de mi maleta y se lo dije a una empleada de Spirit Arilines que no sabía que hacer así que recurrió a otra y lo que me dijeron fue que eso no era problema de ellas porque probablemente había sucedido en Costa Rica y luego se fueron. Ahora mismo estaba tratando de hacer el Check In para mi vuelo de regreso y nunca había sido tan complicado hacer un Check In, ni siquiera entiendo porque no puedo hacerlo. Entro a la pagina de preguntas y soporte al cliente de Spirit Airlines y para responder a la pregunta de COMO hacerlo, lo único que saben decir son los beneficios que tiene, beneficios a los cuales me ENCANTARÍA tener si tan solo en su pagina dijeran COMO se hace. He pagado casi $100 en equipaje solo porque nunca nadie me dijo que si lo pagaba como un mes antes iba a salir más barato, que por cierto su pagina de internet es de lo PEOR que he visto, porque después de pagar mi maleta para ir de regreso, ni siquiera me decía si se había cargado bien a mi tarjeta o me daban una factura, simplemente volví al sitio para administrar mi viaje y ahora solo estoy rezando para que cuando llegue al aeropuerto en serio el pago se haya realizado correctamente. En fin, voy a tener que seguir viajando muy seguido a los Estados Unidos desde Costa Rica y puedo jurarles que NUNCA voy a volver a viajar con Spirit Airlines."
