Cons: "For oversea traveling, food could and should be better. For our flight from AKL to BNE, we had to pay for our soft drink!!!"

Cons: "I was coming from Sydney and I have to hurry up to take the other fly to Newark and didn’t have time to buy for nothing to eat but I was very surprised they didn’t offer me anything on the plane and when I ask they I have buy it online and didn’t have many choices anyway, I very disappointed with this fly."

Pros: "The crew were very polite and looked smart, I didn’t find them very personable at all though. The entertainment system is fantastic and my meal was ok I guess, I requested the low fat meal, probably should’ve just had the normal one."
Cons: "The seats are not very comfortable, very hard and textured seats that just don’t feel nice at all especially on a long flight. I weight about 11 stone (154 pounds) and even I felt like I was taking up a lot of room in my seat."

Cons: "During my flight from LAX to LHR I requested (pre-booked) a special meal (Asian Vegetarian). During the flight I was told there was no such request in their records and therefore I had to stay hungry for the entire duration of the flight. During my return flight from LHR to LAX the in flight entertainment system for my seat was not functional. I requested it to be reset several times and in spite of the hostess resetting it several times, it did not function. I had to stay without an entertainment system during the entire flight. This was my first time travel with Virgin Atlantic. I may never fly Virgin Atlantic again."

She was very obviously annoyed with nearly everything on that flight. The restrooms were beyond disgusting. What I don't understand is why we were not able to get boarding passes and seat assignments when we did our check-in in Sydney? Why is that so hard? Also, when we were getting our boarding pass in LAX it was so confusing when it asked for checked bags. Our bags were already on a belt going to who knows where - were we supposed to check "yes"? If we had a boarding pass this would not have been an issue."

Pros: "Superior comfort, class, and style. The crew was friendly and accommodating, the pilots kept you up to date with flight info and departure/arrival time (and kept the seat belt light off almost the entire trip), the food was delicious and offered throughout, and the entertainment was top notch. Seats were comfortable (we had bulkhead row Space+ and they were worth every cent for the international long haul from LAX-BNE and SYD-LAX) and everyone got a pillow/blanket. We got premium noise-canceling headsets, water, and a little care kit including an eye mask and earplugs and a pen to fill out your travel documents. The overhead bin space was huge and we got two free checked bags of luggage up to 50lbs each (I don't know of that's standard or not, or if it came with Space+ seats). SERIOUSLY the best airline."

The ticket agent, the gate agent and the cabin crew all did nothing to make up for the fact that their system screwed up and stuck me in a cramped coach seat in the back of the plane for 11 hours-- TWICE! Beyond that, KLM must have one of the oldest fleets in the sky. Both ways LAX->AMS->LAX, I was on a 30-35 year old 747 with no wifi, no power and a ten-year-old entertainment system. Never again."

In the mean time, no drinks, no snacks, nothing. So we should depart at 18:00 but it became 19:30. Our first drinks and meal was no earlier then 21:00. The crew should have anticipated better that the technical problem would at least take one hour and give everyone a drink at least."

Cons: "Our flight from Nairobi to Lusaka was cancelled for some reason and we did not find out until we happened to log into the website to double check our itinerary. They automatically rescheduled the flight only giving us 25 minutes to reach our next flight...impossible. so, after calling, we were re-booked again and forced into a 13 hour layover in Amsterdam. Our original flight plan had 4 hours. so, because we are a family of 7 with a baby, we had to buy a hotel room to rest, costing us a lot of extra money we had not planned to spend. We contacted KLM for help with the cost but were rejected. We also lost 5 bags somewhere between Chicago and Lusaka, but after 2 days, we received them."

So it's one thing that you have to cancel the flight because of fog; but rebooking us the next day on a flight through New York that doesn't exist, was way below the standard of care I would expect from any airline. Apparently, the NY to LAX flight that KLM booked us on, was only one leg of the flight to Sydney Australia; and according to some airline agreement, only Australian nationals are permitted to take that flight! Running around at JFK from terminal four, to terminal seven, to terminal eight, back to terminal four, to get a flight out, was a bit much considering how tired we were – not to mention hungry, since KLM neglected to provide the kosher meals we had requested with plenty of time – BOTH going to and returning from Europe."

The entertainment on board is very very old stuff, and shockingly the food is also bad and no vegetarian food."

There was also no in flight entertainment. Our flight from Dublin back to Boston was a bit better, but not much. The boarding process took much too long with only one gate agent checking in people. I will say he did turn people away who were not in the rows being called in front of us, but not the woman who cut the line behind us who was 13 rows behind us."

Cons: "The flight was an icy 61°F. My wife apent most of the 11-hour flight wrapped in 3 blankets. When meals were served, it took at least an hour to clear the trash. Seat space is minimal, but becomes completely intolerable when the person in front reclines their seat. Knees get smashed and the tray table becomes nearly inaccessible. This is a torturous was to spend half a day in a middle seat. This airline still uses the old-fashioned two connector headphones hinting at the age of the airplane. At least the tray tables weren't smelling of vomit and visually dirty as on previous flight. Crew didnt miss an opportunity on either of our flight to charge us for every little luxury, like a snack or alcohol and were fast to hawk their goods for sale. Truly annoying."

My husbands entertainment unit would not work, after we paid $90 each for an 'upgrade'. Also, somehow British Airways didn't communicate I was Gluten free so I had no meals or snacks for the flight. I would not recommend using Aer Lingus even if BA books this leg as part of an overall travel."

(They offered an in-flight credit, but I'd paid for premium exit row seat and had to choose between moving to working system in crowded middle seat or keep premium, exit seat. I decided to have them move me to a seat with a working entertainment system, which were available and they'd offered, but never happened.) When I got home, I discovered the gift I purchased with in-flight credit and my own money wasn't the one I'd requested from Duty Free catalog so now I have to figure out how to solve this problem. (COULDN'T GET IT RIGHT.) Premium exit row seat was narrow, due to in-seat tray table & entertainment system, but seatbelt mounts and thinly padded seat made it even more uncomfortable on a long flight."

Finally got on the plane and it took forever to take off so we were basically sitting in a sauna for 30+ minutes."

We found out when we got to the airport with four children. We were put on a later flight that also left Los Angeles later than the scheduled time. We arrived to Vancouver so late that we could not make the latest BC Ferry to Victoria that left at 9:00 pm. We lost our hotel reservation in Victoria. We were stranded in Vancouver till we could find a hotel that cost us an extra $600 (US dollars), an extra reservation for the ferry and lost a precious half a day of our vacation. When we complained about this wasted time and money Air Canada did not utter not even a clear simple apology. It offered a lousy discount on our next flight with the company, believing that we may ever use such an uncaring company"

Cons: "- The new designed aircraft are meant to pack more passengers which means the aisle for rolling the trolley is very narrow - poor flight attendants were having a challenge and bumping trolley into seats (not their fault at all) - given likelihood of injuries and lawsuits, I highly recommend AIR CANADA management to do something about this narrow aisle before it is too late (i.e. major lawsuit filed by future passenger on account of injury sustained because of getting hurt by food trolley)"

They ask you to place smaller items beneath the seats in front of you except there is not enough space between seats to stuff anything below hence the bins fill up. The lack of entertainment is frustrating for older passengers who don't own or don't know how to work an iPad and the selections are very old. Reruns upon reruns"

Cons: "Rouge did not work on my I-pad....and I did successfully download the Rouge ap before leaving Vancohver. The seat was very uncomfortable and the legroom sucked !!"

Cons: "Waited on plane at gate for more than an hour for passengers who were late. Caused significant connection problems for multiple passengers. Consequences were passed on to boarded passengers who had arrived on time. Once arrived at Montreal terminal, got shuffled to three various attendants until finding an attendant who could get us re ticketed for the next day. That process took three hours. Landed Montreal 3.30, departed for hotel at 6.30."
