Cons: "Where do I start? Going to Vegas (from Chicago), we sat on the tarmac for 90 minutes with no explanation. We finally took off after that, and no attempt was made to regain lost time. In fact, the flight took even longer after we were up than the original plan. The seats were very uncomfortable. I don't know if the seats on the return trip had more padding, but there seemed to be a noticeable difference between the two flights, not just by myself, but noticeable in the lack of squirming on the second flight by everyone else as well."

I paid extra for a specific seat, and when another passenger took it, a flight attendant gave me a hard time when I asked them to move. I was unaware that I'd have to pay $40 just for a carry on until AFTER I booked the flight, in which case I would've just chosen a better airline."

The actual people that work at the airport and fly are good but if you need to make a call you are screwed."

The flight attendant bent over and said his duffel bag is full of puppies! Wow. Why would he be allowed to bring that on a 5.30 hour flight. Then he's soaking these pups with air freshener. I was sick to my stomach. The only thing this guy was worried about was his new sneakers. Pathetic excuse of a human being. I still feel sick, and my throat hoarse from the smell of chemicals."

To check a bag is another $50, and $55 to carry it on, and while you can get discounts on this if you sign up to be an awards member with Spirit and manage it PRIOR to your flight, this was not explained anywhere in my original booking. Food and beverages are SO overpriced - it's clearly a major profit center for Spirit. The plane was not comfortable. Very tightly crowded, seats do not recline, no back pockets for storage, no entertainment or WiFi - bare bones comfort. At the Las Vegas airport, we waited in line to check our bags at the Spirit counter (the only option for bag checking) after signing in at the Kiosk for over 40 minutes, and at 45 minutes until our flight was about to take off, finally took our boarding passes so we could go through Security. If Security had been busy, we would have missed our flight. This was NOT handled well as they kept calling other flights to "jump" the line. Basically, Spirit touts a lower-cost airline for a small downgrade in comfort. In reality, it is a very SLIGHTLY lower-cost airline with a major downgrade in convenience and comfort. I will not be selecting Spirit again."

While I understand that drinks and snacks are "add ons" and a profit center, passengers have to buy expensive water and snacks with the gate vendors. Surely the airline could stock a few gallons of water for dehydrated passengers? The cost of my two bags would have covered bottled water for everyone on the flight."

And for lack of a better word or expression, she gave me what can only be described as "stank face." She rolled her eyes and actually let out an audible sigh before grabbing the bag from my hands and shoving it into the bin, then walked away without so much as a word. I attempted to thank her and got no response, she just turned and walked away. I can say with all honesty that i have never been treated so rudely on any other airline."

The stewardess has no clue how to use the lights and kept turning them on and off the entire time during a red eye flight when I was trying yo sleep. The pilot is an idiot and tried to coast into the landing on a windy rainy day resulting in the bumpiest landing I've EVER had. Poor, Spirit. Poor."

I begged for water, even just a sip I pleaded. She said all I can give you is a bit of ice. I started to cry and hold my throat. She still did not give me an ounce of water!!!! It cost $55 to CARRY ON my bag!! I just could not believe it! Also, the flight was delayed for take off. I will NEVER fly Spirit Airlines again. NEVER EVER!!!"
Pros: "My flight to Las Vegas was delayed 7 hours with no compensation. Then the flight from Vegas to New Orleans was delayed 2 hrs at 2pm then site 2 hrs at 5pm until it was finally canceled at 10pm. After I spent 3.5 hrs standing in line I was re-booked a non direct flight the next day with another airline,and they put me up in a hotel for 2hours until my next day of flying to Denver, Houston, and then new Orleans. I was originally supposed to arrive in new Orleans via a direct flight Sunday night but ended up not reaching my final destination until Tuesday afternoon."

Cons: "No indication when I booked this flight that I'd have to pay extra for a seat and carry-on bag. We weren't even offered water on a 5 1/2 hour flight. Greyhound would have been more comfortable."
