Ten days prior to the flight I called AeroMexico to cancel and they said there would be a cancellation penalty, which was fine. When I tried to redeem my credit, they said there was also an additional "No-show fee" even though I called to cancel 10 days prior, which left a total of $70 credit after all their penalties. I called and emailed to complain but they did nothing but pass me to someone else who was equally unhelpful. I will never fly AeroMexico for any reason in the future."

What a nice thing to say to someone who paid $125 one-way to stick a dog under a seat."
Cons: "I missed my flight in Atlanta heading to LA on my way to Brisbane, Australia on Saturday 16th July. The ground staff wasn't at all helpful in trying to get me on another flight and in fact sent me to Delta! The lady there couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. Sadly I wasn't compensated at all and had to pay to re-book the flights on the Sunday 17th. On my return from Brisbane, American Airlines had cancelled my flight to Atlanta as they said I was a 'no show' heading out. Thankfully I was able to get a seat on stand by. So, no I'm not a happy customer."

I thought I was purchasing a regular fare where I could bring a normal carry-on onto the flight, but this was a low cost flight and I had to check my bag. This information was not disclosed until after payment, and I believe this is dishonest on the part of Kayak. Kayak needs to be much more upfront about the details of the flights so that we passengers can select flights according to their needs. I felt deceived by the fare and would have purchased a different flight if I would have known ahead of time."

Quantas, Air China and Japan Airlines have much better meals."

Cons: "I received somewhat bad service at every point of contact with United. My flight was canceled in Houston, so I forced to stay overnight. I asked the rep at the customer service station if United pays for a hotel room if our flight gets canceled, I was told no. There were several canceled flights, do all the hotels were booked in the area. It was up to me to call every hotel in a 10 mile radius at midnight to find a room. I had to come out of pocket 150 dollars for the room and I missed work the following day due to my canceled flight. I was forced to stay in a hotel room with none of my clean clothes, no toiletries. I was told by a united rep, "we get off at midnight so you won't be able to get your suitcase today". All in all, it was one of the worst flying experiences I have ever had. I would like some one to call or email me."

All but one of the crew seemed pissed about being there. I know passengers suck. At least the guy that looked like Tim meadows from snl was nice. A 5 hour flight and they plane has no wifi (I get it) but also no charging ports??? Just gives the feeling of being held hostage for 5 hours and the only savior is your Visa. I'd hate to see how parents with kids handle it."

Pros: "I remember I used to fly with spirit and they were the worst airline. I can tell now they have changed a lot and they have improved in all ways. No delays"

Since the plan was not full we waited on the plain for an hour in half for more passengers before take off. There is no really food choices. Only junk food for purchase. Would not recommend Spirit to my worst enemy. My inexpensive flight cost more if I flow with a top notch airlines."

Cons: "All their flights were delayed that day, so my red eye flight ended up "really" delayed. I waited 4 hours in the airport and the the flight was delayed by over 3 hours as well. Then after all of that, they offered not even water (for free) on their four hour flight. I understand delays happen - but consider offering a little something to your customers when this kind of event happens!"

Cons: "This flight changed my entire experience. The desk people are so cold I watched at least 5 people cry due to their harsh communication and rigid decisions. Got into the airport at 7 something am and didn't make it on a flight to New Orleans until 9 layover Florida. Staff wasn't easy to work with I would've paid hundreds extra for a better experience"
Cons: "I thought the lady was a bit rude when I asked to go use the bathroom. And I also thought the crew was up and down the aisles way too much on this short flight."
Pros: "The price was good but not worth it if the flight is cancelled and my parents cannot get out until two days later. They incurred additional taxi costs having to get a ride from the airport after flight was cancelled. We should get free airplane tickets or some other provision."

Cons: "Pretty much everything to do with this airline. Check in and boarding to leave were acceptable, Baggage fee for Carry on that I was not expecting. On the return flight at check in I was informed that they believed I had not used their airline to fly out and my return flight was cancelled because of that. After producing my boarding pass Nothing was done to get me home. The solutions provided at the check in counter were not acceptable. "We have another flight 24 hours from now, no we won't find you a hotel room" "We can refund you 1/4 the cost of a new different flight to get you home since we messed up" "We can put you on stand by incase people don't show up for the flight" Ultimately these morons paid several passengers to get off the plane to get me and my companion home. Giving these other passengers more than what I was requesting to begin with including a slightly later flight on a different carrier and a round trip voucher for later use on spirit. This is the worst run and least efficient airline I have EVER used. I will never use spirit again."
Pros: "Spirit took care of us with a hotel and the soonest connecting flight to our final destination."
Cons: "Our flight was delayed, then the aircraft we were on had to make an emergency landing were we were there for 5 hours before a new aircraft had came to pick us up. It was a huge hassle there was no commication. This delay caused all connecting flights to be missed. What should have been a 6 hour flight turned into two days of flying. This caused unnessary stress and a huge headache to made sure we made it on time where we needed to be. Some issues are uncontrollable but it could have been handled so much better. This was a long flight of waiting around for flights, planes, and to even our luggage which took an hour to retrieve."
Cons: "$55 baggage fee that went from $65 to $100 if paid at the gate seemed outrageous."
Cons: "Worst airline I've ever flown with period. The tickets are priced low just to get you on a 50$ bag fee! Really? Not only that, they try charging you 60$ for your carry on at the gate, oh and if you don't pay they have the nerve to say at the gate before entering the plane they'll charge you 100$. Never ever again will I fly with them..."

Cons: "Ticket kiosk didn't work well. Seat pocket was filled with garbage from previous flight. Cannot tolerate flight crew hawking credit cards. It's intrusive. I think their time would be better spent in safety and comfort needs of passengers."

Cons: "A lot of turbulence on descent, as well as a hard landing on a day of seemingly perfect weather."

Cons: "Primitive boarding procedure nearly caused us to miss the flight. Kiosks won't print your boarding pass within 45 minutes of your flight time, even if you are checked into your flight. And Spirit does not permit you to use a boarding pass on your phone, you must waste natural resources & print. Unfortunately, we had a problem while returning our rental car, so we were later to the kiosk than planned. So, we had to wait in line to ask an employee at the counter to print out boarding passes. Thanks to the kind passengers of LAX airport letting us jump in line several times, we made our flight just as doors closed."

Cons: "Compared to the flight to Los Angeles staff was very mediocre compared to other airlines very uncomfortable planes"
Cons: "I was charged $55 dollars for my luggage at check in when another passenger was not. The other passenger had a backpack and large duffle bag that my larger than my luggage but because his was "soft" he wasn't charged. I feel that it was outside of your guidelines and not fair and probably took place because the female associate checking him in was being flirtatious. I was excited to train out his airline but was extremely disappointed."
Cons: "First my flight was canceled do to " weather conditions" even though all other airlines were flying out to the same city. When I asked for help the desk attendant said I can look on my phone for available flights. So I didn't feel like the staffed cared at all. The flight back went without a delay but the airplane felt very cramped and with no entertainment to distract us from our 4 hour flight. When I did finally order a coffee and muffin the flight attendant staired at me like I wasn't speaking English. And passed everything to me 1 by 1 in the most awkward uncomfortable way. I don't know how exactly to describe it but it was incredibly strange and not very professional. Over all I won't be flying with this airline again."

Cons: "Seats were awful; when I made my reservation, I selected my seat for each leg of my journey then when I arrived at the airport and checked in, I was given different seats.... paying $55 for a carry-on is ludicrous! I will not fly Spirit ever again!"
Cons: "Alaska would've been a much better and more economical choice. Had no idea Spirit charges for bags until after I bought the ticket through Khyak. They might've said something! Also, Alaska has free carryons, diet cokes and peanuts. Spirit won't be around long."

Cons: "I was charged $12 for my seat like it was an upgrade- tiny seat that didn't even recline! Most uncomfortable I've ever been on a plane. I was also going to be charged $52 for each checked bag...??? When I told the woman at the counter that it was $31 online she was nice enough to only charge me that much, but what is that all about??!! My bag was 29 pounds, no where near the limit- $52??!! Ridiculous. Staff wasn't rude or anything but they weren't friendly either, just kind of blah. No in flight entertainment, not even free water. Not a great experience. I'll spend the extra money next time to be comfortable."
Pros: "One of my suitcases got left behind but it came in on a latter flight. My brother in law came in on that flight so he was able to pick it up for me. Saved the airline money on a courier from Houston to Galveston. I still don't have my clothes will pick them up at the ship. I called them to see if they would comp all my luggage on the way back but they wouldn't. I will never fly spirit airlines again. Thought I was getting a good deal on the flight but didn't with there expensive bag check on policy. $166 for three bags then I have to pay the same on the way home. What a rip off"

Cons: "I didn't like the flight being late. I know these things happen, and part of the problem was the fault of the ground control people at LAX. For our flight to late because another airplane was blocking the jetway is poor management. Also, I know it costs a penny or so to transport soda on the airplane, but since very few people made purchases on the flight, it made no difference. So I think you could cut back a little on the idea of making the traveler pay for every little thing. The sodas are going to be there either way."

I really enjoy kayak for the financial liberty it allows me and this Spirit airlines ripped it away from me. Not to mention none of these fees are mentioned before I purchased the flight! For god sakes buying a ticket doesn't even guarantee you a seat! I absolutely understand that every airline has extra fees, but Spirit was an insane outlier. I was charged for a Carry-on. A CARRY ON! Never again! Tisk tisk kayak!"
Cons: "The flight to Chicago was delayed 1 hour. I had an horrible experience with the return flight, they first delayed it 2 hours, then 3 hours, then 4 hours... I spent 5 hours in the airport before I gave up on them and cancelled my flight back. I had to buy a ticket from another company.... Also the ticket price is misleading because they charge you for carry-on luggage (like 50 USD). During the flight they even charge you for water, which is free in other airlines :-("

Cons: "I will never fly this airline again. Worst customer service ever. The people at the ticket counter and the gate check in need to learn manners. I've never experienced such rude people. Spirit airlines must hire anyone to work in customer service, they must not care. I asked to talk to a manager and the guy at the counter said it would be an hour. Told him I would wait. A couple minutes later some guy (not sure if he really was the manager) was rude as well while talking to him. I've never traveled with Spirit. One of the workers later in the day after I told her my experience so far told me whispering "a lot of people don't like Spirit Airlines". Umm, hello? You know you have a bad reputation?!?!? Worst experience ever traveling. Makes you appreciate the real airlines. I don't think this airline is going to last. It'll save people a lot of headaches if they don't."
Pros: "Boarding on time. Felt safe, pilot communicated well with the passengers"
Cons: "Seats weren't very comfortable, no snacks, some staff seemed tired (could have been due to time of flight). Didn't work out to be much cheaper than any other airline and with much less perks (seats, entertainment, snacks)"
Pros: "Customer service in Manila speaks with heavy accent talks so loud. Do not undestand what they are saying. Then they became rude, asked for supervisor, they refused. Oversea customer service may be cheaper labor for the co, your customers have hard time understanding them. How can we use spirit? My mother handicapped senior ended up missing the flight because customers service put on a hold for 75 minutes. I called them to speak to a manager refused first time then put me on hold for an hour. I will put this terrible process experience on google, so people should, must know especially if this is concerning children or elderly seniors. The higher management should acknowledge and be accountable for people suffer great deal."

First time I flew spirit they cancelled my connecting flight, escorted me out of the terminal, stood in line for 3 hours to be rescheduled to a flight the following day. They put me in a hotel an hour away with a shuttle that ran every 2 hours so I was able to sleep for 3 hours. Second experience... 5 hour delay from 730p to 12:30p departure. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. Never booking spirit again. Absolute garbage airline."
Pros: "Nonstop flights from LAX to KC leaving and returning at reasonable times. I went to Ross and bought the largest bag I could find that met the personal item size restriction. Otherwise, all my ticket savings would have been used up by the small amount of luggage permitted. Feels like nickle and diming. I don't think this M.O. can last because people won't come back if they feel ripped off."
Cons: "The Spirit flight was delayed. No text or email from the airline though they had my info supposedly for that purpose. I found out by looking online right before we would have left to go to the airport. 1 1/2 hour delay. When I arrived at the airport, the monitors said the plane was now delayed 2 1/2 hours beyond initial departure time. Still no text or email. When I checked online, there was no update indicating the later departure time. Obviously, my time spent cooling my heels around the airport was of no concern to the airline. Also, led to me eating overpriced airport food rather than food at home when the delay pushed the flight into the dinner hour."
Pros: "The price of the flight is hard to beat. I can live without the seats reclining and a free soda."
Cons: "Pay attention when buying your ticket. There are extra fees like paying for the seat you want or for checked bags."
Cons: "I had to buy another ticket for 400 from Alaskan because spirit kept pushing the flight back. flight # 869 on den 20th. Check it out."
