Watch the departure gate. Some are distant requiring shuttle service and there is minimal to non existent food, beverage, and usual shopping at these gates. Take food with you before boarding the shuttle.
Verified travelerFlew with DeltaLAX-DENApr 2025
It’s an easy short flight, so a quick recharge nap is nice. A neck pillow is recommended.
Verified travelerFlew with Hawaiian AirlinesLAX-HNLApr 2025
Trust me and buy the ticket with Hawaiin Airlines. Sooo worth it.
Verified travelerFlew with SouthwestLAX-DALApr 2025

Verified travelerFlew with United AirlinesLAX-SFOMar 2025
Narita was more convenient than SF for connecting flight
HFlew with American AirlinesLAX-TUSMar 2025
It’s really easy. The only complaint might be the tram back to the last terminal to Tucson. It runs about once an hour and there is only one food option when you get there. Just give yourself plenty of time..
CHARLESFlew with American AirlinesLAX-PHLMar 2025
There are no food or vendor services in the boarding areas of Terminal 4 at LAX.
PaulFlew with Alaska AirlinesLAX-SEAMar 2025
Be patient. Get there early. Ignore the crazies in LAX.
JakeFlew with JetBlueLAX-BOSApr 2025
I would try to book an earlier or later flight coming back to Boston, while the flight was quick, taking off at noon and landing at 9:00PM was very difficult to adjust back to and I till feel like I'm trying to readjust.
Verified travelerFlew with Hawaiian AirlinesLAX-OGGJan 2025
a must, you need a to car to get around there is a lot to see. There’s a lot of good food plus try the shave ice cone. I haven’t seen any bad vibes the people here mind their own business. The food can be pricey at Maui so be ready and save.
Verified travelerFlew with Hawaiian AirlinesLAX-HNLDec 2024
Not sure if all airlines charge just to get a seat but find an airline that doesn’t nickel & buck you to death. So you know when you go you have a seat otherwise fly Southwest
KateFlew with FrontierLAX-PHXDec 2024
Pack a snack food and airport is very expensive. Bring an empty water bottle. There are lots of filling stations. Delays seem to happen frequently be flexible and kind. You’ll get to where you’re going.
TomFlew with Alaska AirlinesLAX-PDXFeb 2025
For me it was a connection from overseas to home. They were on time, which is about the best you get from most US airlines. Baggage came quickly.

United Airline is my favorite, it has good boarding, the service is pretty good as well.

Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesLAX-PDXSep 2024
The "pay to pick your seat" policy stinks. It's even worse than "pay to pick a seat you'd want to sit in" that airlines have been doing for a while. There is no cohesive policy for how one *gets* a seat assignment- at LAX my boarding pass had a seat assignment; in Portland, the ticketing agent told me the gate agent "had" to do it, but the gate agent said it had been assigned the whole time even though my boarding pass had a blank space where the seat assignment should have been.
NuNuFlew with DeltaLAX-DTWNov 2024
Don't sit in front of a little kid if your sleepy. You won't get any sleep. They kick your seat.
Verified travelerFlew with United AirlinesLAX-RNOOct 2024
Airline and airport do not provide good information if transfering at Los Angeles. Can be stressful in a time crunch.
SaraFlew with Spirit AirlinesLAX-SEAAug 2024
Pay extra for the carry on and we got to board 1st. I did not pay to sit together but when I checked in the day before we were all 3 together.

Personal tips are bring your own food if you're hungry; keep foot space as open as possible for leg room; pack your patience

Verified travelerFlew with United AirlinesLAX-IADAug 2024

Verified travelerFlew with Spirit AirlinesLAX-IAHJun 2024
Do not fly spirit if you want to get to your desired destination. It is a high risk gamble- they frequently delay and cancel flights. If you want to speak to a spirit airlines agent on the phone, (basic customer service) you have to pay $25.
SeleneFlew with Spirit AirlinesLAX-PDXJul 2024
Alaska was fantastic! Spirit's reputation for being horrible couldn't be more accurate. I'll never fly spirit again.
Verified travelerFlew with Spirit AirlinesLAX-EWRAug 2024
Don’t take spirit. JetBlue, American, and United are much better.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesLAX-PAEMay 2024
Easy, short flight, but bring your own snacks or buy in advance if you need to eat. I purchased the Northwest Deli snack and it was better than expected. Every item in the box was very good.
LarryFlew with SouthwestLAX-STLApr 2024
For long flights on airlines built for short flights (SWA) anyone over 5’ 10” is going to get cramped. Consider an Economy Plus upgrade when available.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesLAX-SJCMar 2024
I was going to Carmel and came back through the Monterey airport which was a great experience. No line, quaint and efficient.
ShirleyFlew with United AirlinesLAX-ORDMay 2024
Check-in using the United AirLines app to access your boarding pass. Arrive at least two hours early at LAX airport.
RobertFlew with Hawaiian AirlinesLAX-OGGMay 2024
Hawaiian Airlines is the best. With food service , good entertainment and great customer service. Can’t go wrong.
MichaelFlew with United AirlinesLAX-DENMar 2024
Arrive early if you have carry-on luggage. Eat before you get on the plane.
AlexandraFlew with United AirlinesLAX-HNLApr 2024
Delta is much better in terms of seat comfort and entertainment options.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesLAX-SEAApr 2024
I have only used Alaska and Southwest. I prefer Alaska.
NelsonFlew with Alaska AirlinesLAX-LASMar 2024
none, fast, short flight, lucky it was not a full plane thus had seat comfort.
AvramFlew with United AirlinesLAX-EWRMar 2024
We booked a car but there were lots of taxis available.
Verified travelerFlew with Spirit AirlinesLAX-DTWMar 2024
It seems that all flights at this point in time are substantially more expensive between LA and Detroit. If I had it to do over, I might pay a couple hundred dollars more for the extra big front row seat, or possibly an exit row, but frankly, I’m not one to support businesses who care more about making a few extra dollars than creating a good experience for their customers. Even being lower middle class, I won’t force myself into another experience like this one, I’ll be staying away from spirit. Very uncomfortable and unaccommodating.
ShopperFlew with SouthwestLAX-BWIMay 2024
I couldn't believe how many folks needed to preboard with assistance. A lady in line with me mentioned it's very common for Baltimore flights. I swear there were 20+ that were in wheelchairs hanging out waiting to board. Maybe preboard should start earlier when there are so many passengers. And regular boarding took a long time too. I've been on busy flights with big planes before, but this one seemed to slog on.
LauraFlew with United AirlinesLAX-SANMar 2024
Expect to get squeezed in because these are tiny planes
MagedaFlew with United AirlinesLAX-EWRFeb 2024
If you use the United mileage card, you will have priority boarding, which puts you to board in group 2, you get one free luggage checked in, gives you 2 free annual passes for United Club, drop off bags it's easy and convenient on level 2 in both airports Lax and Newark after checking in online
IreneFlew with Alaska AirlinesLAX-TPADec 2023
•Check in bag tags are only printed 4 hrs before flight takeoff, so if you’re stuck at the airport earlier you will need to keep your luggage with you till then. •Unless you’re able to sleep on a plane, consider bringing an iPad to stream entertainment, because there is no screen on the plane.
LaurenFlew with Hawaiian AirlinesLAX-OGGFeb 2024
If you’re flying on the 8am flight, they serve a yummy breakfast sandwich. Maybe skip breakfast in the airport. Oh and you can buy top ramen onboard too, and they’ll pour in hot water for you!
MarkFlew with Alaska AirlinesLAX-RSWDec 2023
The direct flights to RSW on Alaska are very convenient, but consider paying more for economy plus unless you’re on a very tight budget.
BasantFlew with Alaska AirlinesLAX-FLLFeb 2024
Smooth experience. As I was offered EXIT row seating, with lots of leg space but with a trade off of NO-recline.

Delta flight was on time, seats were comfortable, and crew was nice.

Bathrooms dirty sinks clogged. No one seemed to clean them. Plane very old

Thank you for not flipping the plane on the run way. You guys get a 5 star rating for the flight!!!

Boarding is, as it always is… horrible. Gate lice. Slow moving zones. Too many people with carry ons

It was terrible, if they ran flights on time it would make a big difference.

Delta seems to be improving in many areas, except they are super bad with the food available. Bring back normal food service on long flights.

I actually received a notification from kayak on email but not one by text from Delta when my departure gait changed and I almost missed my flight

New boarding doesn't make sense. Filling front first is slow.

Delta flight was great from the check in all the way to arrival. However, I had a very bad experience. I requested a wheelchair and the wheelchair employee that went to pick me up from the plane in Boston to bring me to the baggage claims told me I have to pay him. I was under the impression that it was a free service and I usually give tips but the person forced me to pay and since I said no because I was upset with his demand when my daughter walked in to pick me up he demanded payment from my daughter who paid him thinking maybe now it is a charged service.

Horrible. Grateful to be alive but spent 13 hours at airport only to return back to my familys house and flight changed to next day. They tried to fix a part on plane, had no back up plane and after 10 hours , reattempted the flight and it STILL wasn't fixed. We got a meal voucher and rescheduled flight but there should be some other compensation for the 15 hours spent in airport

The gate was too far away for the connecting flight

Compared with other carriers business class for an overnight was not worth the extra expense.

Seats were comfortable. It’s was so cold and very uncomfortable. I paid 2000 miles for wifi service that was choppy the whole flight. Would like to be reimbursed for my miles Food was so disappointing. Three cold and terrible meals for $3000 round trip. This needs to be better.

Easy to board. Flight was super crowded though so I didn't sleep well on that cross country red-eye flight. The aisles seem ot have gotten narrower and the seat smaller whn luggage and people are getting bigger so it would be AWESOME to have more space and breathing room in general ;)

Pilot Erika DeLong made us feel safe and at ease in a frankly scary time to be flying. Her warm smile and greeting and excellent command of the aircraft in foggy bumpy weather helped us all to calm our nerves and get us home safely.

Plenty of room for me and the cat in Premium Economy. Seat was comfortable. Boarding was a breeze. The lady at the special check-in desk was great, super helpful and professional.

Smooth flight. As always dinner could have been more generous. Breakfast was great.

Old and out of date plane, it seem like every time I fly with united there’s and issue. We were delayed,

We took off an hour late due to arrival airport not having enough gates. That was followed by 1:30 wait to get our bags delivered for the entire flight.

Wish movie and music choices changed more often. Mostly same from a month or two ago when I last flew.

Very helpful ground crew after an earlier flight delay and being rebooked on a different flight.

The plane was late and then sat on the runway for almost 45 minutes before taking off.

We kept being told that the flight was full and that all overhead compartments were full and therefore had to check in our hand luggage. We were some of the last people to board and noticed that there was still sufficient space in the overhead compartments. We were obliged to check in hand luggage when there was space and so had to wait at luggage retrieval which took a while to then noticed damage to our luggage - not a great experience!

Worst seats I’ve ever had !!! The seats were very narrow and uncomfortable and misaligned with the seats in front of mine leading to bottom of the seat in front of mine pressing on my legs for 15.5 hours !

This was an overnight flight. There was no meal service in first class, just a simple snack basket was offered along with beverages. There should have been some type of continental breakfast prior to arrival in PHL. As an Executive Platinum American Airlines Advantage member, I received no name recognition from the first class flight attendant. When disembarking at PHL, the flight attendants were more interested in their cell phones than saying "thank you" to the passengers as they disembarked.

The flight was quick and to the point. The crew just did their job w/o excessive talking and everything was just perfect.

Awkward carry on process. Forced to check all carry on. No overhead space of worthiness. Left delayed, but made up the time. Crew was amicable.

Amazingly comfy flight - I had upgraded for a reasonable price and it was worth it. The food also was good.

Had to wait on pilot and crew to depart and had to wait to arrive at the gate because they only had 2 crews working. Delays, delays....Planes just keep getting smaller and tighter and they nickle and dime for everything. When will an airline actually wake up and make flying more enjoyable?

I paid for what I got which was cheap, I brought my own entertainment. I knew what to expect, so I could be prepared. If you’re flying economy, check in early like me. I have no problems with my flight, was on time, staff were friendly, and overall good experience.

terrible service, no room for a dog underfoot, a broken chair that is impossible to sit on and all this costs a lot of money

It was fast but uncomfortable seats. Had to pay a bit extra not sure why? Maybe in selection of all my 4 tix together ? Just knew I had a balance before getting boarding pass online when departing from satx ? And flight was delayed..

Seats are uncomfortable and too close together. Also, you missed my connection in Vegas on the way back and I ended up sleeping in the airport, flying back to Burbank instead of LAX and I got home 12 hours late.

Non-professional acting crew, Very uncomfortable seats…!! Very bad pricing with all the add-ons for seat choice, luggage fees, etc….soon you’ll charge extra for oxygen. The ticket price means Nothing because in the end, the actual amount i paid, i could have and will in the future continue to fly on a real airline…

With this price, I shouldn't complain on anything. I understand I have to pay for every services they provide. The plane could smell a little better. Advise them to use frebeeze to freshen up the interior a little bit.

Terrible. 1st and last flight on Spirit. Check in process was a nightmare. Despite arriving 1.6 hours before flight we had to be pulled from the ridiculously long line to “self check” our bags which took 10 min and required assistance. Seats are very uncomfortable , don’t move, no pockets, no entertainment, no wifi Basically like taking a time capsule back to the 70s. No thank you.

Arrived at 3:45am & found a long line where Spirit employees were standing at the counter but no one was working. Worried if I’d make the flight. Line started moving about 4:15 and got to check my bag at 4:30, realize my flight was at 5:25. Lines thru security were long, got to flight and walked right on. Spirit was cheapest when selected but not after $70/bag and $30/seat - extra $200.

Over 2 hour delay due to “weather” but all other flights were taking off with no issues. We felt lied to the entire time as well.

LA to Seattle was a smooth process. Seattle to LA was delayed more Than 6hrs

Purchasing tickets on their website is upsetting, they take the consumer for a ride...I wanted 2 tickets for me and my friend but we only had one carry on between the two of us. It was impossible to only pay for one - I had to pay for 2 carry ons and blew $50! Shame on their sleazy business practices! The seats in the airplane are shockingly uncomfortable! In the future I will only fly Spirit if I have no other reasonably priced choice. The flight and the crew were good. But still: Go Southwest Airlines!!!

The reps working at the airport counter were dumber than a second coat of paint.

My costume jewelry was stolen out of my bag. Got to airport and my bag weighed 45 pounds- 5 pounds over cost me $100 Long lines in tier one. No entertainment No WiFi no free drinks or snacks

The seats were awful, hard plastic covered in sheet vinyl. The airline tries to scam you into paying extra to get seat together when the flight wasn’t full. They were going to separate a family with young children but my wife who had a row to herself gave up her seat so the young mom could be with her young boys. I’m never giving this airline my money again.

It was a short flight so no food or entertainment….

Frontier had yet another flight cancellation. Have never made a complete round trip with this airline without at least one leg getting cancelled. Miserable flights - dirty, uncomfortable planes that apparently always have issues since I've had multiple delays and cancellations with them.

Flight was delayed 3 times, would have been nice to have received text message instead of email notifications. Frontier app wasn’t even updated accordingly, no gate number disclosed. No agent at front desk of gate to inform of delay. Very confused and left if the dark

They changed the timing , first delayed by 4 hours then went back to 40 mins late, we had to run back to airport to not miss our flight. This is ridiculous

No frills for sure. No gate announcements about flight delay, not even water to drink on the flight.

I loked walking out on the tarmac to board and no first class. I didn't like that they have no snacks or onboard wifi to bide your time.

It was a redeye flight, so every passenger just wanted to sleep, but through the entire flight, the flight crew made announcements over the loudspeaker at maximum volume every few minutes making sleep impossible. For example: it’s 2am, and the crew decides to give an extremely detailed announcement about snacks and beverages for sale. And 3am is the perfect time to wake up everyone with a lengthy announcement about how to get a coffee refill and how to take advantage of new offer from frontier for a credit card.
