I liked the timeliness of the departure and arrival, and the crew were good. The turbulence was rough, though.
No seat assignment. Was put in the absolute last seat in the plane. Flight was delayed because of an electrical issue which also broke the AC until we were taxi-ing. It was hot.
Plane was hot. Flight handling was poor (rough takeoff, landing). Young and inexperienced pilot. Short flight made it bearable. If it was longer than an hour, that would have been terrible. Beverage service? Warm water. Disappointing.
Cons: "Very comfortable flight!"
Pros: "Crew was great and seats were totally perfect and comfortable"
Cons: "Nothing could have been better, except steak and lobster 🦞😃 Thank you very much for your ability to make customers welcome and comfortable."

Pros: "Great crew. Entertainment options were good."
Cons: "Should add weather/radar to the flight tracker"
Pros: "Early, clean and comfortable"
Cons: "Air flow from air above seats was blowing out hot air. My seat kept reclining so I got yelled at and I didn’t do it on purpose. Long wait on ground before takeoff."
Pros: "The crew was extremely helpful and friendly!"
Cons: "The seats, overall, could have been more comfortable... I have somewhat of a backache after my trip."
Pros: "Same crew and great experiments again"
Pros: "Crew was polite and very helpful."
Cons: "It would have been great to reiterate to passengers to remain seated when deplaning, until the passenger in the row ahead were approximately 6 Ft away."
Pros: "The snacks"
Cons: "There was one flight attendant who was very rude."
Cons: "The entertainment system was not working, and the charging stations weren’t working either."
Pros: "On time arrival and departure."
Cons: "Under the Covid circumstances, it was a good experience."
Pros: "Seat comfort was average for a small jet. Bottled water was cold."
Cons: "Cabin was too warm"
Pros: "Crew was friendly and very clear about masks."
Pros: "The crew was amazing."
Cons: "The seat backs are very uncomfortable for my neck & upper back. Difficult to tolerate, and gave me headache on each flight."
Pros: "The seat was comfortable. Snacks were good. Inflight entertainment was amazing. Boarding was smooth."
Cons: "Nothing it was perfect"
Cons: "Extremely frustrated. Upon booking my ticket, I was told it wouldn’t be a full flight. At no point did u receive any information alerting me that it was going to be a full flight. I was extremely uncomfortable due to COVID."
Pros: "On time"
Cons: "When I pick up my bags"
Pros: "Boarding was very efficient. Flight attendants were helpful and kind and seemed to care."
Cons: "We booked basic seats knowing we might not sit together however we did not know they would separate children. They put my husband and I in an exit row and my daughter at the back of the plane with strangers. I was not comfortable with strangers being responsible for my child. I assumed they would seat children with at least one parent. We did ask to move at the gate and the accommodated us with the last row on the plane. No recline, no window, and right next to the bathrooms. We took it to be with our kid but this policy needs to be revised. Kids should always be seated with the adult responsible for them... who knows what kind of person might end up next to my child. Not to mention if she had needed something is the stranger gonna take care of it? It’s just a bad practice imo."
Cons: "Delayed and did not explain why"
Pros: "I didn't fly from Minneapolis to Los Angeles"
Cons: "I didn't fly from Minneapolis to Los Angeles"
Cons: "Couldn't have been better"
Pros: "individual TVs"
Cons: "it would be great if you could not use all those one-use plastic cups. waste is a real issue in the US and the solution is using re-usable items like washable cups. Unboarding was a nightmare and it started to get really hot waiting to get off."
Cons: "It made no sense to board an hour and a half before takeoff."
Pros: "On time boarding. Good entertainment options, friendly staff"
Pros: "Almost everything"
Cons: "Could not get entertainment interface with my tablet to work, especially since I paid extra to do so. Could not access live TV on my seat/chair screen."
Cons: "Plane journey awful. Speaker had a loud buzzing noise all the time so never heard a word bad landing. Rattling plane Very cold."
Pros: "On time"
Cons: "Take a long time to taxi to the gate & getting off the plane."
Pros: "Overall experience was awesome. Always love to fly delta. Nice spacious and clean aircraft. Enjoyed the entertainment system."
Pros: "Crew and boarding were great, which I expect from a premium carrier like delta."
Cons: "Perfect day outside, not a busy day or time to fly. The email forbhe plane being late was was too last minute. A heads up sooner would have been nice. That way we’re not waiting at the airport."
Pros: "Loved having the Movie and tv options on the flight, really passed the time"
Cons: "Flight was overbooked, seat assignment at gate, was very anxiety provoking. I was concerned would not get on flight."
Pros: "It got me home, eventually."
Cons: "Poor communication, a 6 hour delay followed by a 7 hour layover (during which we had to sleep on an airport floor because Delta couldn't offer us any hotel vouchers). Gate agents disappeared after 7pm becuase they were due to be done with their shifts when our flight was originally supposed to leave at 6 pm. It felt like we were trapped in the movie The Terminal. Oh! And our bag was misrouted, because that was just how things went those 2 days. All in all a 6 hour trip turned into 18 hours. I could have driven home in that amount of time!"
Pros: "Everything was in order"
Cons: "None really"
Pros: "The gate agent and cabin crew handled passenger's misery with friendly grace and professionalism. Also, it was an old plane and so the seats, even in coach, were comfortable."
Cons: "Plane was around 45 minutes late in arriving at our Minneapolis gate. Flight was further delayed by something (unspecified) being "frozen." WORST part was that the temperature in the seating area at the gate was horribly cold. Departing passengers at a neighboring gate were bound for Fargo and sat with their parkas on and with parka hoods up. We Houston-bound had packed our coats & boots and were shivering. Then when we finally boarded the crew announced that the plane's water system was broken and so we would have no hot coffee or hot tea or hot anything. No water, also and obviously, in the restroom sink. But sani-wipes were provided in the sink basin."
Cons: "On the MSP to ATL leg the gate crew made a huge deal about checking rolling bags. They even stopped us at check-in and nearly begged us to check our bags pointing to the backed up jetway. But we had a lot of unpacking to do before checking our bags so we politely declined three times. On getting to our seats there were at least 8 open slots for bags near us. I heard a crew member call forward to say "tell them no more rollaboards" so they forced everyone left to check. On departure they slammed shut several very large empty overheads. WTF"
Pros: "I had an open seat next to me."
Cons: "Bumpy flight"
Pros: "All was quiet. It was an early flight. Nice offer of more snack choices than other airlines."
Cons: "Didn't understand why I had to wait until getting to the gate to have a seat assigned when I purchased tickets several months ago. Since I was in the last boarding group, Had to check in my bag since it was already full, had fragile stuff in there and hoping everything is ok. it is what it is. Not anyone's fault but disappointing to have to do when I didn't plan on checking in and going to pick up at the baggage claim. This is what i wanted to avoid in the first place. could have at least offered to let us pick them up as we deplaned and not baggage claim!"
Cons: "The temperature in the plane from Rhineland to Minneapolis and to San Jose was hot"
Pros: "Very late flight. Left on time, arrived 25 minutes early! Cabin crew were friendly and cared for everybody's comfort. They distributed a lot of extra munchies. They had real almonds instead of the usual 1/3 ounce peanuts, isn't that wonderful? Lights went off early and stayed that way so that the passengers could easily sleep through the flight. Uneventful flight, and therefore enjoyable."
Cons: "I had chosen 10C in the Comfort+ section of this MD90 plane. I did get my knee bumped more than once. I still like the seat because I can stretch my legs, but people should be aware of the bumping issue; it can be rather painful, and you do not get an apology."
Everything went perfectly. Check-in, bag drop, etc. The flight and crew were excellent.
Pros: "The crew was clearly concerned with the covid rules, but just as concerned for passenger's needs. Outstanding performance in difficult circumstances."
Cons: "Missed connecting flight to El Paso and had to wait for hours in the airport on standby"
Pros: "Good seats, comfortable w headrest adjustable"
Pros: "The crew was great!"
Cons: "We had a difficult time getting in the air in the air. We left 1.5 hours late! Not AA fault!"
Cons: "The flight was delayed."
Pros: "Crew was fine."
Cons: "The first class seats on these newer 737-800s are VERY disappointing. Width is ok, but legroom is on par with economy expectations. With my tray out and the person in front of me reclined, I could barely see my laptop. There is also very little space under the seats, especially for the aisle seat."
Cons: "The flight attendant that helped passengers in the main cabin was rude, lacked empathy, and lacked resourcefulness. She argued about throwing away a drink that she poured, didn’t care to explain things to passengers when asked i. e. why charging outlets were not in service, and her tone was rude ..."
Cons: "I've flown American airlines twice this year. The service and flights have been very good. One thing I'd like to see is a variety of snack options."
Pros: "Landing and take off."
Cons: "Nothing. Everything was great!"
Pros: "leg room was decent I always love the in flight interactive map with routes and nearest cities."
Cons: "Headphone jack for media watching did not function properly."
Pros: "The gate crew and flight crew took extra care of my wife, who has MS and related difficulty walking. They showed great care - very friendly and professional. Pleasant experience all the way through."
Cons: "Seats were a little close together, so my knees were always touching the seat in front of me. Not terrible, but not ideal. I'm 6'1" and my legs are a bit long."
Cons: "The security check line was about a mile long at the Terminal 1, but that's not the airline's fault."
Pros: "American Airlines staff from checking to departation were very friendly."
Cons: "Sat behind a couple with a small dog that was very stressed and barked at anyone that walked by. It was a late flight and I could have used a few winks."
Pros: "Everyone was super friendly. The plane was clean and comfortable and the food was great for airplane food."
Pros: "Generally, the stewardess are new (slow service), but very kind and considerate."
Cons: "I take this flight quite a lot. These comments are for this flight (MIA/MSP) - but not necessarily only for this exact flight that I took on 10/1. To be clear - the crew says "this is not AA", it is Republic Airlines". Well, they must think of themselves very poorly. Their food in first class is always changing - oh, I meant only the names for the same exact meal change. "Grilled Chicken with Couscous", "Grilled Chicken with Risotto", etc.. - all cold meals as they do not have an oven/microwave? on the plane. They are charging first class international prices for economy domestic service. For this amount of money, they should have better meals and a more modern airplane. The first class is always freezing (even in summer) while the rear cabin where the crew stays when not working, is hot. So if they make the first class happy with the correct temperature, they cook in the back. I have also observed more people than usual coughing and getting colds - both ways - than any of the other flights I take regularly (over 115,000 miles on AA this year). I would suggest that AA make it clear that Republic must offer better service to their customers - especially for the large airfares they are receiving."
Pros: "They seem to have more time for the passengers then other airlines do"
Pros: "The flight was on time, cabin crew looked nice and professional, AA stuff at the airport of departure was very helpful with complicated check-in procedure."
Cons: "It was a short flight (less than an hour) and only complimentary drinks were offered, no little snacks (like pretzels, peanuts or cookies)."
Pros: "Let's see - I was in first class. The flight itself was fine - and only one hour + late!"
Cons: "Food - Served the "breakfast" (when it was called a protein plate) I had coming (into MSP). for "lunch" on the way back (called it a meat plate for lunch. One slice turkey, one slice jamon, one egg, cinnamon roll and fruit. Just because they don't want to serve bread - they call it a protein plate? I'm not on a protein diet. Food was pretty sick for the amount I paid for the fight. Stewardess said it was against Republic's rules to give a customer a can of tonic water (so I could add to the small amount of vodka) - she also told me that it was against Delta's, American's and United's rules to give a can - strange? First Class seat did not recline. First Class was freezing per every flight on this segment (the stewardesses sit in the back and don't want to be uncomfortable - if they make the front warm - the back is too hot for them (not joking on this one). So many things to list - that I will finish on the AA site."
Cons: "Cabin was like an icebox. People were wrapping up in sweaters and jackets. Many raised hands observed attempting to close the overhead vents. Multiple complaints to flight crew yielded a minor improvement but it was still on comfortably cool."
Pros: "The fact that they re-booked without me having to contact customer service."
Cons: "The connecting flight was cancelled while boarding was in progress at the start of the journey."
Pros: "The crew was very good. The made sure we were informed and helped get people rebooked."
Cons: "We were delayed by about 2 and 1/2 hours. Which I get no one can control a maintenance issue, just made for a hectic day"
Cons: "Flight delays and cancellations."
Pros: "Called 1-800 hotline and got a new flight"
Cons: "Was at gate onntime for flight. At boarding time passengers were informed if there was an issue with the plane and maintenance is on their way to check out the problem. 30 minutes later we were still till that maintenance is on their way. One hour later there is still no information as far as when the fight will leave but they kept updating the boarding time. There was only one person of the counter who could help re-assign passengers to different flights due to their layovers. After waiting in line for 40 minutes and the line making no movement I called the airline 1-800 hundred number and explain my situation to the American Airlines Airlines representative. they really give me a new flight that left 20 minutes later after my call if I did not call I would not mean it that flight nor any other fights that morning because they're all in the afternoon."
Cons: "Bathrooms didn't work delaying initial departure an hour. Ran to connecting flight and made it prior to door being closed. 12 passengers in total were told that we would be boarded and then were abrubly told none would be boarding our final leg to the Caymans even though our seats were available. Horrible company culture not focused on customers."
Cons: "Took off late from Minneapolis only to announce that there was something wrong with the plane, no explanation as to what but that we had to circle to burn off fuel before returning to Minneapolis. Switched to a flight to D.C. with a connection to get to LGA. As soon as we sat down on that flight an announcement was made that we wouldn't make our connecting flight. Got to D.C. and asked to switch to go into Westchester instead of LGA which we were denied. So changed to another connecting flight to LGA that didn't take off on time. Offered nothing for any of the inconveniences. Etc."
Pros: "Friendly staff."
Cons: "Typically claustrophobic conditions. No in-flight entertainment."
Cons: "was seated between 2 to very overweight persons, the person in the aile side, extrememly heavy needed extension belt, plus removing the arm rest next to me and using great part of my seat. not a very comfortable situation and the plane was FULL, no empty seats"
Cons: "eh. not enough space, like most airlines these days. Flight wasn't long enough to hate it though."
Cons: "Potable water was down so no coffee, tea, or more important... water to wash hands. Then they didn’t have my second choice of beverages after coffee either."
Cons: "I left an expensive Bose head set in my seat that could not be found....or did smobody decide it was better in their possession.?"
Pros: "All hope was lost until Greg came to our rescue. We made our connecting flight on time and didn’t have to reschedule the entire trip until the next day- losing out on lodging and plans abroad."
Cons: "The way this flight was cancelled due to weather and couldn’t be rescheduled by anyone at the airport, on the phone — knowing it was due to the size of the plane and the weather conditions. I wasn’t even offered a voucher or accommodation for what I was being told would be a 24-hour delay. That was until we met Greg, he literally saved our trip and our experience with American Airlines."
Pros: "The crew was friendly and competent."
Cons: "Airlines have an industry wide problem. They INTENTIONALLY make every part of flying miserable so that passengers will pay anything to make it less painful. For example... if you want to make boarding quicker, build the cost of checked luggage into ticket prices so that you don't have people carrying everything on and clogging up the process. Or use the existing and publicly available research to improve boarding mechanisms... but that would mean you lose an opportunity to squeeze extra cash out of people for 'priority boarding'. This phenomenon is real, and currently be investigated by congress. Call your senator."
Pros: "Boarding was easy and flights were on time."
Cons: "Crew could have been a little more friendly and the planes were a bit dated...although I know AA is in the process of replacing their fleet."
Cons: "Flight was cancelled we were re-routed and didn't get there until 24hours later."
Pros: "The flight staff did the best they could for how few of them there were."
Cons: "Flight cancelled, and the gate was understaffed, so it took forever to even get up to the counter to try arranging alternate flights. Also, the Kayak/Webjet tickets we were issued interfered with the process as the airline could not reissue us tickets directly. Moreover, one Kayak & Webjet got actively involved, they even tried to deny us passage on the alternate flights that American Airlines suggested. By the time we did make it up to the desk, everything was taken/full for the next few days & we have been struggling to make our overseas travel even possible ever since."
Pros: "It was nice that I had a seat empty next to me, allowing for extra room. Flight was a little early in landing in Dallas, allowing for extra time for a short layover to find my terminal and gate for my next flight."
Cons: "All was good."
Cons: "see review headline above"
Pros: "Quick board and exit, fast check-in"
Cons: "Wi-Fi onboard free for all T Mobile customers, cramped seat room for a smaller adult even"
Pros: "Assigned seating, snacks, touch screen media feature."
Cons: "Staff could have been more friendly."
Pros: "The food, in flight entertainment and attention to detail by the Flight Attendants was very good."
Cons: "The personnel handling the front desk at check in gave myself and others bad information about how to check a bag. Which resulted in me being called to the desk at the gate about 30 minutes prior to boarding and being told I screwed up checking my bag when I was just following the instructions given to me. Was then told I had to leave the secure area of the airport, go back to the front to check my bag all within 30 minutes of boarding. when I returned thru the TSA checkpoint they were rude, obviously, but more importantly the flight was boarding early. So you could've 1. told me what the actual procedure is for checking my bag instead of telling me "just leave it by the green lit up check mark then 2. told me at the gate that not only do i need to go fix your mistakes for you but that youd also board my flight early thereby putting me in jeopardy of missing my flight. all i got was a very insincere apology when I complained up front and at the gate about the airline's screw up. i get that you're all human like me and make mistakes but the customer is always right. there was a time in this country when customer appreciation and service were important standards and qualities businesses thrived on. Don't know what happened to those days... Also i should not need to be a first class passenger to get a meal during a flight. whatever happened to meals for everyone? you (all airlines in the US) charge way too much money and provide poor service compared to pre-9-11 days. I dont see how one event can justify the loss in service but the increase in ticket price. you should all get back to what flying should be about: fun and time saving."
Cons: "Think it is ridiculous that I had to pay so much to select a seat ahead of time, and it was just a regular seat. I can understand for extra legroom or exit row, but for a regular seat, that is ridiculous. Then there was a fee to change priority boarding, so I could ensure I was able to have my carry-on with me, instead of risk having it go underneath. Unable to use the entertainment, as I was unaware had to use my own device, which I had not set up in advance."
Pros: "The staff tried to help as much as possible."
Cons: "I called American Airlines as ssoon as I book my trip to set up and make sure my small dog could fly with me. They neglected to inform me their partner, jetstar, does not fly animals. My luggage did not arrive with me. Both of my suitcases were mangled and broken. Items in my suitcases were shattered and crushed even though they were well packed and protected. We got stuck on the terminal in MSP and missed our connecting flight. When we finally arrived the systems were down and could not get new flights or hotels. We were told we could not get hotels and had to argue for an hour. Even though it was a maintenance issue. I arrived a day late and had to take extra leave. The plane from LAX to Tokyo was horrific. I booked a window seat, was stuck in the very middle. There was no way to charge outlets devices. The screen did not work. And my new luggage was also damaged with even more items destroyed."
Cons: "They didn't give my parents who are in their 80s seats together, that's not right."
Pros: "The flights left on time and arrived early. It reminded me of the old days when everything ran like clock-work."
Cons: "The leg room was barely enough for me and I'm 5'4". I can't imagine people much larger than me being comfortable at all. Also, the chair made my back hurt, so I did a lot of sitting up straight as opposed to being "in the chair". I noticed that you had snacks for purchase on the flight, but the free snacks were cookies and pretzels. It would be nice to offer a trail mix or dried fruit. Pretzels are good for people who might be a little sick at their stomach, but better snacks are a nice option. I ordered coffee and it was perfect. Overall, the flight was a good flight, just a little tweaking and it would be great. Thanks for asking."
Pros: "Pretzels and drinks."
Cons: "The group's for boarding are ridiculous. The back of the plane should board first and so on... the new plane we flew on had the smallest seats we've ever seen. When we tried to board, the crew would rudely say, it's not your turn. We were flying for a funeral and paid a lot for our tickets. We should be treated with respect. One lady said to put our luggage in the first available compartment, then when we tried, another lady rudely said, if that's not where you're sitting, you can't put your bag there. We were embarrassed and when we tried to explain what we'd been told she told us to keep moving."
3 hours late sick crazy people on flight
Pros: "No seat not comfortable."
Cons: "No legroom."
Pros: "The flight from CVG to LAS pretty quick"
Cons: "Allegiance staff at Check-in staff are very rude AMD full of themselves, instead of explaining they expect every traveler know policies of allegiant, there are no boarding pass scanners and to print for you they want $5 if not they force to download their app so that you can get the boarding pass that can be read by TSA scanners ridiculous!!"
Pros: "Flight crew was very helpful ."
Cons: "The crews at the airports are extremely rude and impatient."
Cons: "Give complimentary water"
Cons: "It's a low cost, no frills flight option. But we left and landed on-time and that's what I wanted."
Cons: "They should have let us know we would be diverted to Des Moines, and 2 hours Late to BMI before we got to the airport"
Pros: "Comfortable leg room"
Cons: "Delayed as usual"
Pros: "Crew, check in and access"
Cons: "Seats are getting a bit tiny and the trays are small. Comfort and baggage prices are starting to drive the price out of competitiveness."
Cons: "The boarding process. And how the flight attendants speak to the customers; I found a bit abrasive and insensitive for no real reason."
Cons: "If you dont have TSA precheck....get it...lifesaver"
Pros: "Inexpensive and efficient"
Pros: "Great crew"
Cons: "Seats are very uncomfortable"
Pros: "There was nothing outstanding really"
Cons: "It’s a low cost airline, so expectations are very low. Plane was very dirty because it just keeps on hopping back and forth without any cleaning service it seems"
Pros: "Crew food. Seat small little leg room."
Cons: "Plane on time. More leg room."
Pros: "Original low price for reservation"
Cons: "Large amount of additional fees making the original 'good' price not so 'good'"
Cons: "Allegiant needs to get stuff together when it comes to boarding."
Cons: "Bad turbulence throughout the entire flight. Hot temperature during majority of flight."
Pros: "the crew was very welcoming. and the boarding process was fast."
Cons: "the seats are not comfortable. however I can understand because of the price."
Cons: "They could have not been 8hrs late"
Cons: "Very dissatisfied with boarding and told we had to pay for our luggage but noone else did .I had prepaid for 1 incase I brought big luggage but I brought carry ones. So I was charged 100..but everyone else's was larger"
Pros: "Crew was really nice! Flight was quick and easy"
Pros: "The staff was great"
Cons: "Seats were way to small for tall people with long legs..........."
Pros: "Our trip to Knoxville was great- no complaints. A/c cool— flight on time."
Cons: "Trip back to FLL air was not working well. Plane dirty as well."
Pros: "Nothing, honestly. Constantly delayed, cheap airline with forced fees, only one I could take and I can’t believe you exist. You have horrible customer service"
Cons: "I will never fly you again. Sure you don’t care."
Cons: "I bought a flight that I had to end up cancelling - when I called to cancel - within the 24 hour period, they would not let me cancel despite text on my confirmation saying that there would be a free cancellation within the 24 hours. Extremely annoyed that there was a blatant miscommunication. I did not end up going on the flight but was unable to get a refund which seems ridiculous given that there was text on the website explicitly saying this was their policy."
Pros: "Flight left early and was at destination 30 minutes earlier!"
Cons: "On the return trip, I had to wait 30 minutes for my luggage."
Pros: "Easy boarding, very nice crew. I would definitely recommend spending the extra for Priority, it is much faster."
Pros: "Everything the service for breakfast , the interpretation for more information about when you’re in a plane what to do in case something happened and stuff"
Cons: "They didn’t have a WiFi on for the plan I couldn’t use my phone at all"
Pros: "Like the small airport quick boarding!"
Cons: "Not lots of leg room, no reclining seats, bummer everything costs extra even water. But ok for price"
Pros: "Front seat leg room"
Cons: "No WIFI."
Pros: "I’m 5’10- tall for a woman but average height I’d say overall. I was so cramped in that seat that next time I will choose another airline to get more rom."
Cons: "No free water?! That’s just cruel considering the flight was over 2 hours."
Pros: "New plane!"
Cons: "Boarded too early!"
Cons: "First flight being cancelled"
Cons: "Allegiant 468 7/27 4 1/2 hour delay on flight 569 on 7/27 and not a single person on the ground or plane even said sorry. Allegiant also failed to update the revised departure time. Allegiant posted an initial delay of 30 minunutes but then, when there was a further 2 hour delay due to a problem with the plane in Vegas Allegiant didn't update the time. (G4 568 was showing a two hour delay, with a 1010 arrival into STS but Allegiant never updated the departure time for 569 to reflect the additional two hour delay.) It wasn't until I called that it got updated and when I called I had to point out that the airplane hadn't even left Vegas and Allegiant was still showing an 8:50 departure time. It also took the reservation agent over 20 minutes to get any information about what was going on. Lastly each and every time I call I was on hold for a minimum of 20 minutes before being able to speak to a person"
Pros: "Quick boarding with priority access Friendly staff"
Cons: "Unclear boarding instructions. Both flights roundtrip were delayed about an hour. Wasn't advised of seat changes and reasons why. Mobile passes were unavailable due to a system issue gate attendants had to check manually. Bring own snacks or eat before flight and provide your own entertainment. Seats not reclining are uncomfortable. Not suitable for someone with back issues. First flight was uncomfortably cold return flight was uncomfortably hot."
Pros: "Fast flight"
Cons: "Charge for carry on and in flight snacks and drinks (sodas, juices, water)"
Cons: "Seats were very uncomfortable"
Cons: "After arriving to the airport to check in we were told there was a 6 hr delay. Thanks for the heads up since we could've hung out more before heading to the airport."
Cons: "Leg space tight. Seat didn't recline. They said the maximum width on the under seat personal item is 7 inches but space is big enough for wider than that. I felt that was misleading."
Pros: "The stewardess remembered us from the previous flight and was awesome to my son!"
Cons: "Kind of bumpy and a little late."
Pros: "The crew was exceptionally friendly and helpful."
Cons: "Seats don't recline."
Pros: "Flight smooth"
Cons: "Extra costs"
Cons: "Flight was delayed an hour for "paperwork". Can't be helped by the crew, but an administrative errors are just as bad."
Pros: "They opened the door when my friend was late"
Cons: "Nothing they are great"
Pros: "The plane was nice, staff friendly, and my flight departed and arrived on time! For what I paid for the ticket, I was very scared of what type of plane I would be on but in the end was pleasantly surprised and will use this airline again!"
Cons: "I don't like how fast the prices change and how they charge for every little thing. But then again my ticket was dirt cheap so I can't really complain."
Cons: "The weather blizzard and freeways being closed. I missed my flight"
Pros: "Check in was easy, seating comfortable, staff very polite"
Cons: "No complimentary beverage is kind of a bummer, since you do get quite thirsty during a flight"
Pros: "Cheaper non-stop flight"
Cons: "Very packed, little room. More so than flights I've had on united and southwest"
Cons: "First experience on Allegiant Air. Never again. No A/C during boarding which is ridiculous for a flight to and from FLORIDA during the summer. The pilot forgot to turn off the seat belt sign and almost 40 minutes into a very smooth flight when I asked MYRNA the flight attendant if she could ask the pilot to turn it off so that I could use the rest room. she snarled at me "the pilot makes those decisions". I asked if she could call and remind him and again I got a snarl "He apparently has deemed it not safe to do so". Miraculously the sign came off with a moment or two of her going to the back of the plan, after apparently calling him. I guess customer service has a different meaning to her. The other crew members weren't overly friendly either. Who needs that. Fly Southwest for approximately the same price and actually feel like a valued customer The price isn't that much different."
Pros: "Quick boarding"
Cons: "Flight attendant said there was no where to hang my suit, and the plane was soooo hot!"
Pros: "The crew was really good, made sure our needs were met."
Cons: "The seats were quite crammed."
Pros: "The crew were very nice and the seats were comfy."
Cons: "I would have liked a snack instead of just a beverage alone."
Pros: "Crew was nice, boarding went smoothly."
Cons: "As always, seats are very tight and not super comfortable... but that’s true for all airlines these days, unfortunately."
Pros: "Organized gate"
Cons: "Information on delay boarding"
Cons: "Delays, bumpy ride, narrow seats, no drinks."
Pros: "The crew was very nice"
Cons: "Internet WiFi"
Cons: "We were delayed for an hour sitting in the tarmac because of “VIP” which sucked"
Cons: "Watched a handicap elderly lady put in the middle of economy and a young small healthy male bumped to first class. crew not prioritizing the elderly. With 16" of isle space an eastern crew member tried to push a airline wheelchair down the crowded isle. Treating paying passengers as llivestock"
Cons: "Food was not necessarily to our liking."
Pros: "Seem to be a smooth and direct flight"
Cons: "The flight was fine however my seat was next to the bathroom and people would occasionaly Bump in to me ."
Cons: "The legroom is non-existent. I sure wish airlines didn't try to put so many seats in each aircraft."
Pros: "The flight was overall good, there it was simple and i got what I paid for. First class would have been worth the upgrade Im 6'6" and i was good for legroom."
Cons: "They lost my bag. Very huge issue followed. Staff was very helpful in getting me on track with who and when to talk with people however!"
Pros: "Departed early for an early arrival which was pleasant."
Cons: "It was fine, roomie since I had my own seat section to myself"
Cons: "Wi-Fi did t work for most of the flight."
Pros: "Service and respect very good"
Pros: "On time, friendly, overall great!"
Pros: "The trip went smoothly and it was on time. The Crew was nice and efficient"
Pros: "The price of a ticket is slightly lower. It is not enough of a difference to make the plethora of inconveniences worth it. You are not a valued customer with this fare. If United values customers, they shouldn't offer this fare. That's why I don't fly the bargain airlines."
Cons: "You can't check in at the kiosk on basic economy without an employee badge swipe, and there were no employees available. I had to stop checking in, wait in line, and then the employee that I talked to didn't have the right kind of badge to swipe. So I waited again. Extremely inconvenient. Even after being forced to talk to a ticket agent at check in, they still won't issue a seat. So you have to go to the gate and wait in line again to get a seat. The system is built for maximum inefficiency. It doesn't cost less for them to make me talk to two separate people, it is only to inconvenience the flyer for buying a cheaper ticket. It seems like a punitive system. Boarding was organized and painless. The crew seemed polite. Regarding comfort, the "leg room" on the airbus is ridiculous. I am average height and felt claustrophobic. I can't imagine how a tall person feels. There was no " entertainment" on my flight, so one star for that. I didn't not receive any food and was not offered water, 1 star."
Pros: "Easy boarding, on time take off"
Cons: "Arrived early (yay), but had to sit on the runway for 45 minutes waiting for a gate and ended up getting to the gate later than the original expected time. Pretty ridiculous."
Pros: "Healthy options maybe apples or something, and cheaper for snack packs. Ability to accept cash."
Cons: "Delays, delays, delays. Total of 4 hours delayed."
Cons: "It was not made clear at all that I was buying a basic economy ticket and was not going to be allowed to take a carry on. That was really frustrating."
Pros: "Friendly flight attendants."
Cons: "When I made the reservation, somehow I was assigned lowest status, and boarded the plane last, meaning no overhead storage."
Pros: "$155 roundtrip cost with limitations described before purchasing tickets. It would be much better to at least be able to take a backpack as a carry-on, but all costs were included in the price except luggage and that was reasonable at $25/bag."
Cons: "Not being able to take a backpack as a carry-on"
Pros: "We finally arrived safely."
Cons: "The plane was filthy and crew was not very helpful."
Cons: "The crew & boarding. Awful snacks."
Pros: "Will never fly United Airlines!!"
Cons: "Customer Service was terrible!!"
Pros: "Arrived to destination early"
Cons: "Asked to be moved to an empty row. Was told "no" by the stewardess, she then offered that same row to another passenger 5 minutes later."
Cons: "Unable to pre-check online. Unable to check at the check in machines--had to go up and check in at the counter, long wait because there was only one clerk. We were then given a ticket just to get through security and had to check in a second time when we get to the gate for seat assignment, which is ridiculous. Why couldn't that be done at the 1st check-in? The clerk told me she will call me when she has the seat assignment/ boarding ticket but she never did and I had to go back up to ask for them when it was getting close to boarding time. At the last moment minutes, volunteers could check in their carry on for free....It would have been nice (and less hassle) to have that option at the 1st check-in."
Pros: "The lady helping me before boarding plan was awesome thanks enjoy your week"
Pros: "Flight finally left for ORD. Staff kept folks apprised and boarded us quickly."
Cons: "Continual delays. UAL staff did not address issue of whether folks would miss connections in ORD. Yet we were seated next to the AA counter where their staff was actively working on this issue (missed connections in ORD). Seemed like AA cared a bit more."
Pros: "I appreciate that United hasn't gotten greedy with baggage charges and has kept their seating comfortable. Last Frontier flight was RIDICULOUS!!"
Pros: "I like being in an earlier boarding group and sitting by a window."
Cons: "Seats are too close together and reclining makes it very uncomfortable for the person behind the recline."
Pros: "Speed and ease of our return home."
Cons: "We got in SO early, there was no gate ready for us at Newark, so we had to stay on board at least 30 min. Also they didnt allow even 1 person waiting in queue for bathroom, so if you sat down you'd lose your place."
Pros: "The other legs of the trip were on time"
Cons: "The second leg of the trip was two hours late which always happens at Chicago Ohare"
Cons: "Every flight I had was delayed at least an hour, and one of my flights was delayed 2.5 hours, which caused me to miss an important meeting. When I asked why it was taking so long, the United customer service representative was very short and somewhat rude. Not a great experience this time that's for sure."
Cons: "seats were extremely uncomfortable"
Pros: "Absolutely nothing"
Cons: "Airplane was damaged and united wouldn't rebook us until the flight was officially cancelled hours later. Then United provided only one service person to address all of the passengers needs so we had to stand in line for a couple hours longer. Then they had no hotel rooms to put anybody up for the night that couldn't get a flight until the next day. Then they gave us a measly $10 food voucher. Then our luggage was mishandled has still has not shown up to my house. Then because of the change in flights I had to rearrange transportation home at 1130 pm that cost me an extra $125. A very miserable day because of United's lack of being proactive and poor decision making given the situation and circumstances."
Cons: "The flight was delayed multiple times causing me to have to literally run across airport to catch international connecting flight. Gate crew did very little to assist me in securing an alternate flight. On board crew did little to assist me in finding out information and getting me off the plane quickly to get to my connecting flight. Overall they showed little empathy and customer service."
Pros: "When I got on the plane"
Cons: "Late by more then an hour and I missed my connection home. I had to stay the night in Denver and miss a day of work. This cost me an extra day and about $1000 worth of missed revenue."
Pros: "Overall good flight. Very quick! :) nice pilot"
Cons: "Nothing in particular."
Pros: "Boarding was ok"
Cons: "I was one of the last to broad the aircraft and found that my seat was given to another customer. I was asked by the flight attendant if I could seat all the way in the back by the restrooms. I was not happy with this at all but could live with it. Once we landed I waited on my bags at baggage claim. Found that my luggage had been damaged."
Cons: "One strange thing happened on my United airlines flight. The crew announced before we boarded that there wasn't enough overhead space for rolling bags and encouraged us to check them in. Upon boarding they announced that all overhead space in the back was full. I sat in the back and noticed that the crew closed the overhead compartments even though they were mostly empty. Another passenger opened an empty one and the crew came over and closed it right away, though many people were still boarding. What's going on?"
Cons: "Flight was over 2 hrs delayed so I couldn't even take the flight. Waste of my money. Paid 330 dollars and got nothing. Now United nor you guys are helping. Never again will I use this site"
Pros: "The flight crew was friendly and I received a lot of updates on my flight infor before my flight"
Cons: "Although I received a lot of flight info about my delayed flight I wouldn't receive it sometimes until right before the time changes. Also we were boarded and still sat on the plane and waited for almost an hour before leaving the Tarmac and received no reason as to why we're still sitting until over 40 minutes of waiting. Also the bathroom water smelled bad and it felt extra small."
Took over 1hr to get off the tarmac late at night doesn’t make any sense. Never dealt with this for this long before on any plane. Terrible coordination. Don’t understand why we can’t use another gate
Pros: "Crew, snack options, and pilots are amazing."
Cons: "T-Bone Porterhouse steaks as snack options... on board chef"
Pros: "Crew was amazing 👏 🙌 😍 ❤ and checking in where nice super helpful"
Pros: "Got in early!"
Cons: "Flight was packed!"
Pros: "Flight from MSP to PHX was delayed an hour, which messed up our transportation down there. Minimal word was given, at time of boarding they then delayed 30 min, then when that time expired they added another 30. VERY UNORGINIZED, and unprofessional. Terrible service, terrible airline, don't be tricked by 5% cheaper fairs... they suck!"
Cons: "They canceled our flight home from PHX to MSP, they blamed weather in DFW, which is bull, there were many other airlines flying out of DFW that morning. Because they blamed weather, there was no compensation for screwed up schedules. The next available flight was 2.5 DAYS later!! no other options, it was ridiculous... they were no help to get rebooked on another airline, or even driving to another airport... horrible all around. We ended up driving to Mesa Gateway, flying Alegiant Air to Fargo, renting a car, driving 5.5 hours back to MSP to get our car, then 2.5 hours home again. But it's all good, Spirit refunded that leg of our fare... $220... we spent over $750 to get home by 1am, when we should have been there by early afternoon. DONT EVER FLY SPIRIT - THEY'RE THE WORST..."
Pros: "The flight attendants and gate attendants were funny, honest and helpful."
Cons: "Spirit had many cancelled flights while I was in Las Vegas. Mine was one. They said it was weather related and therefore couldn't accommodate hotels. Well, every other airline was able to get out. I think there was a staffing issue and management didn't want to actually provide decent service to their customers. I was stuck I. The airport over night with a 3 month old. It was awful. Then my next flight, a sink broke and was spewing water all down the aisle so we had to delay the flight and we're deplaned. Not impressed and won't fly with them again. After all said and done, I don't think it saved me any money."
Pros: "When purchasing the ticket they were Very upfront about alerting you to possible baggage restrictions and fees for ANY carryon aside from one small item. I was only traveling overnight so I was able to carefully pack in one very small "personal item" sized backpack. If I hadn't carefully checked their website I would have had to pay $55 for a regular small carry on and far more for checking a suitcase. Most people had similar small personal bags. I was astonished when a woman showed up with a huge rolling suitcase and large carryon. I hoped she was traveling for a month to justify the fees she would incur!!"
Cons: "What they don't tell you up front is you have to pay $23 per person per flight if you want to pick your seat to insure you sit next to the person you're traveling with. I was flying wirh my boyfriend so of course I wanted to sit next to him for the 2 1/2 flights but didn't want to pay $100 for the privilege. We rolled the dice and we're luckily assigned seats together. Not the case for several other people flying together. They also don't tell you, until it's time to print your boarding pass, that if you can't download the boarding pass by smartphone or print at home it costs $10 to print at the kiosk. I had to scramble ro get it printed because the code doesn't show up on an android phone. Again, we got lucky because my boyfriend has an iPhone and could download and print screen our boarding passes. We weren't surprised at all that all food and beverages (yes, water included) had costs associated but thats become fairly standard in the industry now. Overall it was a pleasant flight, the flight attendants were efficient and helpful and we arrived right on schedule."
Cons: "Baggage fees are so high that I would rule out flying Spirit in the future."
Pros: "Boarding went smoothly. Flights departed on time. Flight crew was very friendly."
Cons: "Arrival: Both flights arrived on time, BUT the plane remained on the runway for extended periods to await a gate. I know delays happen, but to wait on two out of two fights isn't a good average... Seats: I'm very small, and was very glad in these seats. I found the seats quite uncomfortable because they don't recline at all! Food/Beverage: Nothing is provided - not even water. Baggage Check: When making reservations, $30/bag to check didn't seem too bad. However, when pre-registering my luggage, in order to receive the $30/bag rate, I would have needed to spend $50 additional for a membership. I don't fly enough to make that worthwhile."
Pros: "Absolutely nothing"
Cons: "The fact you lied about baggage fees, the fact your airline took it upon them selves to chance the standard size and weight of a carry on bag, the fact they charge you a "convience" fee for carrying your own bag. It's actually cheaper to have the airline handle your luggage than for you to carry it. The fact luggage fees seem to randomly change. I was charged 45$ for my bag on the outbound flight but for some reason I was charged 57 for the same bag for the return flight. Had I been made fully aware of all these charges I would have been able to save money while flying on a real airline."
Pros: "I had very low expectations of Spirit Airlines... from their reputation and things I read online. But my family and I had a GREAT experience yesterday. Our bag check process went smoothly and the staff was very courteous. Everything went smoothly for boarding and my husband, my son and I all sat together in the same row. Everything couldn't have went smoother and i really wondered what all the fuss was about Spirit airlines??? We had a really great experience and would do it again. Can't beat the price, even if you pay to check a couple of bags ahead of time."
Cons: "I did not like the fact that I paid my ticket 2months in advance, and when I got to the airport 2hrs early, I was told that I was late and the plane was already full. How can it be full when I had a two months reservation? It seems like they sell the same seat to more than 10 people and then they gamble on the first person to sit in it. How can a company that is run by a human being be so greedy? I have learned my lesson. There were 4 more people who the same problem as I. When I called Customer services, i was told that there is nothing that They could for me because they are not at the Airport with. I asked if they could put me in another flight and they refused saying that I have to buy another ticket. What I do not get is why Spirit is still in business? Someone warned me about them, but I thought that maybe it was that one time, but I was disappointed big time. My sister lost a baggage with spirit 2 years ago and they never helped. Spirits have lost me as Customer and I am sure that I will not be the only one. They make their tickets cheaper to lure people into buying them, then they still their money without even thinking about humanity. I had to buy another ticket and I am flying tomorrow. Worse company ever. They do not deserve to be working with people. People should never trust Spirits, it is beyond the worse."
Cons: "Did not like that it feels like a bait/switch to shop for flights, then highly up charged for things that should be included. Like being charged to check in... Isn't that covered when a ticket is purchased?? I purchased through Kayak and find out later that we can save money by doing everything ourselves online or at kiosk. Then watch all staff sit around and socialize while we over pay. Why have a staff at all? I had to pay to sit in exit seat then asked to assist in emergency. If occupying those seats... Why do we have to pay extra? I guess not what I had in mind. I will choose different airline next time. I paid more to fly my bags than it cost to fly myself. Don't understand!"
Cons: "Being charged for baggage"
Pros: "Wouldn't know that wouldn't even let me print my ticket."
Cons: "How when I waited in line and ended up only being 40 minutes early rather than 45 they wouldn't even pull up my reservation, which I had already checked in online too, just needed a printed ticket. Instead when I mentioned where I was going he just remarked too bad it's too late you needed to be here earlier I can't help you and proceeded to the next customer completely ignoring me. I guess being a paying customer gets you no where with this company. Now I see why everyone hates them. I used to stand up for them but I guess it was only a matter of time before being subjected to their terrible business practices."
Pros: "Fast boarding."
Cons: "The airline didn't allow me to print my boarding pass until 8:30 pm on the night before my scheduled 8:38 am departure. At that time the fliglht departure time was delayed. In the morning the flight was delayed again. Fortunately I had a three hour layover in Atlanta, so the delays only meant less of a layover. The seats were uncomfortable. It was a clear day without many clouds, but somehow the pilots on both of my flights weren't able to hold the planes steady during the takeoffs, climbing to altitude, and approaches for landings. The planes were wobbling a lot---like they were no longer on smooth automatic pilot."
Cons: "Spirit cancelled on me last minute and would not put me on another airline to get to Minnesota. It was a terrible experience and I have no interest flying with them ever again. After speaking to a counter agent, I called them and they couldn't get me on anything to get to Minnesota that day, which is when I absolutely had to be there in order to get my work done. It was a huge waste of my time and resources. Sure, I got my ticket price back - only after arguing with them that the reason that I should get my full ticket back (instead of just the leg to Minnesota) is because THEY cancelled on ME."
Pros: "I'm happy they transferred us to American Airlines, as we'd had 5 hectic hours not knowing whether we'd get home that day."
Cons: "We were disgruntled by the unexplained delays."
Pros: "Nothing. If this airline lasts a year I will be surprised."
Cons: "Pricing is deceptive as any assigned seat costs extra. Boarding is a mess. I think they sell group 2 boarding as an extra but let group 2and 3 board together. Aisle, window and middle seats board together so people are constantly clogging aisles during boarding to let people into middle and window seats. As a result the policies that reduce carry-ons don't speed up boarding. They do clog up the departure lounge as people who haven't paid for a carry-on are pulled aside for a charge that makes their total flight cost the same as a carrier with the usual, albeit slim, amenities of most domestic airlines. This flight was hours late as was the other leg of this trip. Seats do not recline, at all. Some seat backs are just a layer of fabric, so if someone puts a knee or foot forward you get a real jab."
Pros: "Flight attendant was nice."
Cons: "We had to wait for a gate for 45 minutes. Also, it took forever to load the plane and then we sat on runwary forever."
Cons: "flight attendant did not make the person in front of me put their seatback up for takeoff or landing, and I was the row before emergency row so it was hard to get in the seat or out! The 3-4 minute sales pitch for a credit card was over the top after being nickel and dimed for everything from boarding priority, seat selection, and bags. Spirit should not be listed with other airlines on flight services such as Kayak because of their hidden fees, and charging for carry on items. You should not have to sign up for their frequent flyer program in order to print a boarding pass."
Pros: "I like that the weather was nice"
Cons: "I didn't like that I paid a lot more for my bags, almost $150 for 2 bags to check inn, just to get to Minneapolis and another $150 to get back and plus they was rude when I got in the airplane cause my seat belt wasn't on right, well I'm not a small guy, they was gonna charge me $5 to rent me an seatbelt adapter made me very uncomfortable in front of all people in the plane, so on my way back home I bought another ticket for south west one way trip, but I would NEVER EVER RECOMMEND SPIRIT AIRLINES TO NO ONE,"
Pros: "Prices were good. All of the crew was great and professional and friendly except Cindy."
Cons: "No effort to get me on flight which I suspect was delayed. $5.00 credit with Spirit not applied to new flight as promised. 2 hrs. 34 mins on a stopped plane no fun. A few minutes more and, by law, we would have been de-planed. Nobody likes long hours on a stopped plane. Flight attendant Cindy is a problem waiting to happen. She seemed to have an authority issue. She instructed us to remain on carpet and out of galley-flight attendant area she said. I did that and she still asked me and another passenger to move. "Standing near my doorway scares me" she said. I also heard her reprimand mothers with children very un-professionally. Not very nice table manners."
Pros: "The boarding and seats were okay, it's a no frills flight."
Cons: "The fact that kayak cost me 40 dollars in baggage fees I would have SAVED if they would have the option to add baggage when booking. VERY upset and won't use Kayak again."
Pros: "Our flight was delayed and then cancelled. There was one woman who was helpful in customer service when I arrived at the airport. I explained that I had to change my flight recently and am 6.5 months pregnant. Because my travel was booked within 7 days of the original flight, I was charged a $90 fee to make the change even though I made the change within 2 hours of booking. I was not reimbursed the difference of the flights. I was instead given a voucher to use within 60 days for the difference minus the $90 fee. I sent to online requests to customer service requesting contact because I am pregnant and will likely not be up for travel for several months. I got no response. The customer service rep who helped my friend and I book a replacement flight when our flight was cancelled was great and did his best with a sense of humor. It was obvious all of the staff did their best but were honest about the limits they had in being helpful: we waited in flux for an hour to find out if the cancellation was confirmed after being delayed for several hours. It was made clear that the replacement flight had to be within the range of the cost of the original ticket. Spirit ticket costs are completely misleading because of fees added for carry on bags, printing a ticket, water on the plane, etc. People tried their best but the set up including the website feel like an intentional scam."
Pros: "It is cheap, if you can make it stay that way. I'm getting used to the middle seat. The snacks I brought with me were great."
Cons: "This flight: -Pilots were delayed, plane left 50 min after scheduled time. -While we waited the cabin was pretty hot and uncomfortable which made no sense considering the outside temp was in the 60s Every flight: -The really loud /long credit card advertisement announcements -the seat in front of you is about an inch too close unless you pay extra, then you have almost too much -they keep fares low by sticking it to people that can't keep track of all the little rules to avoid fees. Luckily I made it past the traps. -I don't like that they are further decreasing the allowed size for free personal item starting in a few months, seems like an unnecessary measure to stick more people with last minute bag fees. -The website is not great, I have only flown spirit about 5 times and I have had the website crash while trying to check in at least 3 time. At two check-in's per flight, that's a 30% failure rate. and then there's more ads, yay my favorite..."
Cons: "$100 extra for luggage"
Cons: "This shouldn't be under a cheap category. Considering that I had a carry on, I ended up paying and additional $120 for baggage. On my return flight I sat next to someone who for sure was on some sort of methamphetamine or heavy upper and could not sit still for a moment. or stop scratching herself. There is no phone line at all that gets you to a human to speak to... at all! So asking for specific flight details was impossible. To get a bottle of water on a 5.5 hour flight was $3 which is inappropriate. The seats do not recline and are small. If you do not pay for you carry on a head of time they will charge you $100 which is basically robbery. I will never fly spirit ever again."
Pros: "The crew and airline worked with me."
Cons: "This was a quick turn around trip for me, just taking my son home from his summer visit. My flight in was delayed as was my flight out. When I went to collect my ticket the customer service individual said I HAD to use the kiosk. It wouldn't print my ticket causing me to now be pushing it even closer to take off. She ended up having to call and get permission to allow me to have my ticket to proceed to boarding. If she would have helped me to begin with I don't think the extra time for a phone call would have been necessary. I do however thank the attendants and flight managers there that day for helping to ensure I made my flight back home without fail."
Pros: "Got there on time. Luggage arrived at baggage check promptly."
Cons: "Check-in process didn't work on two different kiosks, even with assistance from agent. Hard to understand policies on paying for luggage; probably more expensive than with a full-service airline. Counter agent hard to understand (broken English). Boarding pass in two parts came apart but needed both parts for TSA security. No ability to use TSA Pre-Check made wait much longer. Extremely limited room between rows."
Cons: "I picked Spirit because it was the cheapest. You get what you pay for. Keep in mind when you choose Spirit, you will have to pay for your carry on that is not your personal item, pay if you want to pick your seat, and pay if you have the person at the counter print your ticket. Spirit also cancelled our flight. We spent about an hour on the phone with Spirit and said that they booked me on another flight. When I went to check in, they didn't have a reservation for me. It was such a cluster. I will pay the extra money to not fly Spirit."
Cons: "I checked in online the night before, but did not print my boarding pass. When going to check bags, I waited in line only to find out at the counter that I have to print my boarding pass at a kiosk - if they do it for you they will, of course, charge you. Ridiculous. When I went to print the boarding pass, I got charged again - apparently it did not go through the night before for some reason although I was never alerted. So I was charged more now for paying at the airport vs. night before. Not to mention, two charges showed on my account."
Cons: "I called 10 days before my flight to cancel it due to a death in the family. I was told someone from management would call me within 5 day about the matter. I never heard back so I called the day before my flight and I was told once again that someone from management would call me within 5 days. They apologized that no one ever called me the first time. It's been 13 days since that last phone call and I still haven't heard back. Three tickets down the drain and no one ever called me back so I could at least pay the cancellation fee to get credit for another future flight. Horrible customer service!"
Cons: "I didn't like the charge for my "carry-on", that fit in the bin that stated, "if it fits, it's free" Wasn't free, $65 on the way to Minn. and $55 on the way back to LA. I also think your flight attendants talk way too much over the intercom. I get if you are trying to push your credit card, but I didn't need to hear about it for what seemed like 15 minutes. For people on such an early flight who would probably like to catch up on some sleep a little more quiet would have been nice. Also I think someone can spent max $10 at a hardware store and purchase something to place on the restroom doors so that they don't need to slam so much. I guess that's the price you pay for sitting in the a last row by the restrooms. **I think those seats rates should be cheaper. But probably never booking with Spirit ever again"
Cons: "A concerning loud beep/alarm sound went off twice during the flight, and passengers were agitated and very worried. Everyone was looking around, wondering what the sound meant. Crew walked up and down the aisle multiple times avoiding eye contact with people, and at no point during the flight gave passengers any reassurance that the sound was fine/expected. Seriously?"
Cons: "The extreme restrictions on luggage are very hard to deal with, and during the flight there are constant announcements for drinks and snacks for sale. Considering the base rate for a flight is only a little less than other airlines, and if you decide to pay for a reasonably-sized suitcase it's actually more expensive than other airlines, it doesn't make a lot of sense to fly with Spirit. It also feels like they're doing you a favor for even letting you on the plane, rather than grateful for your business. The entire Spirit experience drives me up a wall."
Cons: "The $30 up charge and no cash policy was obnoxious and exceptionally inconvenient. It cost me $47 to check 1 bag. I had to put money on a pay card. The pay card itself cost $5 which caused me to have to out $60 on the card to cover the cost of 1 bag. On top of that, the machine took my money only to tell me that it was out of cards. It turned into a bit of a wild goose chase. The people at the spirit counter took care of it but ended up giving me a blank card after it was all said and done and lost out of my $8 in change."
Cons: "The flight attendants were totally unprofessional. After falling asleep during taken off, what sounded like a rowdy brunch with too many mimosas woke me up. It turned out to be four flight attendants hanging out in the rear of the plane chatting very loudly. They were certainly the loudest people on this 6:30 am flight. They were much louder than the three young unattended minor boys on the flight. It sounded like they were having a great time. They were even swapping "funny" stories about passengers from previous flights. I could have slept despite the uncomfortable non-reclining seats on this flight but the flight attendant party made it it impossible. I am sure I was not the only one. Everyone in the back 5 rows was awake. The most unprofessional customer service I have ever experienced. On another note, the spirit website that one must use to check in for free is a pain. The mobile version does not work properly and the password reset link doesnt workl"
Cons: "My flight kept getting delayed, and ultimately cancelled. For some reason Spirit did not feel the need to just let passengers know the status of the aircraft so that they could make other arrangements. I had to fly into a different city, rent a car, and drive home 2 hours (after sitting in an airport with no idea what was going on with my flight for approximately 6 hours). For my troubles? A $50 voucher for an airline I will NEVER fly again. No reimbursement. No nothing. And the kicker? It was entirely on Spirit. It was a maintenance issue. Absolutely horrible."
Pros: "That it didn't crash. Although that would have spared me the return ride on Spirit airlines."
Cons: "I'm not even sure where to start. Both of my flights were delayed with no explanation. Airport terminal and airplane were filthy. It literally spelled like diapers and bad cologne. There were extra charges for every possible thing, including reserving a seat and checking in at the airport. If I had known this I would have flown another airline because I ended up spending more money with Spirit. The seats don't recline, and I was told I could get water out of the bathroom sink if I wanted some. The airline crew was making several lewd and inappropriate comments on the return flight, including a male attendant saying he rubbed everyones pens down his pants. All around horrible."
Pros: "I had the big comfy seat in the front, always a great value. However if you are reading this and thinking about trying the big seat then I say, the seats suck. You should save your money and stay in the back. Wouldn't want everybody trying to set in the big seats so next time I fly they would already be talen. If I can keep it a secret there is a better chance of my getting one on my next flight."
Pros: "When I called, the agent stayed with me until the problem was resolved."
Cons: "I was not offered the chance to buy checked bags when I purchased my ticket (that I recall, anyway), which is the cheapest time to do so. When I later tried to buy bags online (necessary because of surcharges if you wait until check-in), the Spirit site didn't work (three tries with two different credit cards). I called Spirit, and after a fair amount of time on the phone with the (courteous) agent, he had me try again, and the site finally worked."
Pros: "The staff for the most part was friendly."
Cons: "I am so upset by my trip with Spirit. This was my first time flying with them and I will NEVER do it again. I rather drive my 12 hour trip. They hit me with a $52 fee at check in to take a carry-on and the first lady I spoke with said it was my fault for not booking with them and checking their policies and that's what I get for booking with a 3rd party. Also, she told me that most people don't fly with carry-on's just a bookbag or purse - which looking around was obviously not true. The whole line of people was outraged at this new policy. Since I only had cash on me for my trip I had to pay and extra $5 to get it onto a visa gift card because they don't take cash. On the plane they argued with the woman behind me that they couldn't even give her water without charging her like $4. Nothing is free. Nothing is comfortable. No entertainment - not even radio to plug your headphones into. They told me if I booked my carry-on online it would only be $25 instead of $57. So I tried to do so about 5 times while on my trip and it kept saying they would send me a confirmation to set up my account. Which never came. I followed all instructions and I tried different emails to make sure that wasn't the problem. I ended up leaving my carry-on with my parents and shoving everything I could into a large purse. in the end flying with Spirit was MORE EXPENSIVE than the other airlines I looked into. I wish I could go back and not learn that painful lesson. Thank you Kayak for the ease of booking my flight."
Cons: "Flight was cancelled, due to maintenance issue. spent all day in the airport, flight was scheduled to leave at 10am found out at. 3pm that is was cancelled, staff was very rude, gave us a card to call spirit to rebook. When called the agent couldn't help for an hr due to a system update and asked me to call back in a hr and to keep trying number. No one in the airport was willing or able to help to rebook. Conflicting information was given by the gate, check in desk and the agent on the phone. We received a $7 food voucher after waiting inline 2 hrs for it. And the only options they offered; was to fly to another airport with an 8 hr layover after being in the airport 12 hrs already and catch another flight at 7am. Or to wait two days to get a flight out of ATL. Worst part was the customer service and rude staff. I won't be flying with spirit in the future. Employees stood around instead of helping and had bad attitudes. And no clue as to flight info, or plane status to keep us updated."
Pros: "The crew seemed friendly, and the baggage arrived at the carousel very quickly."
Cons: "Spirit isn't clear about their fees. It would have been nice to know baggage is cheapest when paid for at the time of buying the ticket, and gets increasingly more expensive throughout the ticket buying and check in procedure. It's bizarre that you have to pay to have carry on luggage, and it seems like their trying to trick their customers into paying the ridiculous $100 fee at the gate. In addition, I don't like that you have to pay $10 to check in at the airport. Not everyone has access to the internet before their flight, especially low income people who are most likely to fly Spirit, so it seems they are taking advantage of that."
Pros: "I am a disabled veteran and I was forced to wait in security twice for over an hour each time because Spirit doesn't allow you to use your emailed boarding pass like ANY OTHER AIRLINE. I have over 20 flights that I will be taking in the next 4 months and I will not be flying with this airline. I'd like to meet whoever runs this airline and have some words with them on how to run a successful business. Everyone I know knows not to fly Spirit. Now I do too. The price can be beat 9/10 times on in a better airline."
Pros: "I disliked everything except how helpful the staff was when I almost puked because of the extreme discomfort of the seats."
Cons: "Being in that seat for 3.5 hours was the worst thing I have ever experienced on an airplane. I think I pinched the Vagus nerve in my abdomen and almost passed out on the airplane. I somehow was able to tell my wife that I needed help, she asked for water, they told me it would be $3 and I told them that I needed to go to the bathroom fast because I was very ill. Made it to the flight attendant's seat by the bathroom and sat there for a minute, then was able to open the bathroom door. Sat on the floor of the bathroom for about 5 minutes and was 100% better. Didn't even need to vomit because my circulation seemed to normalize after getting out of that horrible seat. Imagine - sitting on the floor in the tiny bathroom was more comfortable and actually cured me. They get one star out of 10 from my because they gave me free water. Otherwise it would be zero."
Pros: "I almost swore off Spirit a few years ago, after terrible customer service and unclean planes etc. This trip has made me reconsider. The crew was the best asset. They were entertaining, so pleasant, joking and engaging with customers all while being professional and efficient. Better service than the "premier" airlines that I have recently flown. We were more inclined to order drinks and food onboard because we were in good spirits and felt that we didn't need to wait until touchdown to allow vacation to begin. Thank you for a great experience"
Cons: "flight took off 2 hrs later"
Cons: "I don't fly Spirit that much but what I saw looked good, on time at both stops and I especially liked getting on board early as opposed to waiting until 15 minutes before the plane takes off. What I didn't care for, but what I now understand is all the extra specific charges they continue to bombard you with are really charges you don't need. Bottom line for me is that I think I spent more money because I purchased other things and the final price that I paid was MORE then my the conventional favored airline! I will fly Spirit in the future."
