Cons: "1) not that alaska does any worse than others, but boarding is increasingly unpleasant. 5 grades of 'rewards' groups boards, then children, then military, then the elderly, etc. by the time people who paid full fair for their tickets board there's no overhead space left. by charging for any checked bags, the airlines are creating a very stressful and disorganized boarding experience; 2) the ambiance is just dull: cheesy music, dull, grey colors, poor lighting, etc. it just feels as if you're in a space designed by someone with no taste--and this is from the company that bought and killed virgin!? 3) the food is the same cheese plate and tapas plate i get on other airlines. 4) no special greeting upon boarding. it wouldn't take much to make the entire experience pleasant, but alaska and others don't feel the need to make the effort."

To go to Australia, Denver TSA waived the removal of shoes, skipped the scan for the metal detector and no one touched me, ditto for LAX on the trip to Sydney. Where's the uniformity or standards for TSA?? Why did I have to be subjected to this garbage on the way home?? This is why I despise flying. It makes no sense to me. This ruined what was a great vacation."

(If you know you have customers with short connections, why leave early to make their connections even shorter?) Then told us they would not pay for our hotel since it wasn’t their fault. Gave us a “discount” with a nearby hotel that was more expensive than what you could book it for online. Had to wait several hours for them to get us back the carry-on luggage that they insisted we check in the first place."

Cons: "For some reason, the pilot couldn't figure out how to adjust the cabin temperature for the first hour or so. This made the flight (and I was sitting in an exit row seat, right by the door which is usually cooler) uncomfortably hot and muggy. Food? No food. Thank goodness for Delta Lounge (even if it was the one in PHL). Just snacks make this a poor option for many. I don't know what is up, but the USB charger on the two monitors didn't work and neither did the outlet between the seats. And I have two different sets of cables "just in case" and they're the 3-in-1 so I can try to charge multiple devices (Apple, Android and Samsung) but nothing worked."

Cons: "We booked with Delta, but were put on Air France. Even though we had our boarding passes in hand we had to wait in long, slow line for baggage tags because they would not print from kiosk. There was minimal Air France staff on duty serving thousands of passengers during busy season (July). While the lines grew larger, the staff was reduced from 4 to 2. Another long, slow line for customs, another long slow line for security=Charles De Gaulle airport was awful. We arrived at the airport 4 hours before our departure time and got to our boarding gate with no time to spare."

Cons: "We had seats at first where there was what looked like bubble gum bits stuck on one of the food trays. The flight was clearly not cleaned although it landed 2+ hours before the departure. We had to ask for a wet tissue and clean it up. That was of no use too as it wouldn't scrub off. My wife was feeling under the weather and so we asked for a blanket. The blanket was hardly a blanket and more like a towel. We then luckily could switch seats as there were 2 vacant. But, the air conditioner was leaking water in the seat to our left. The crew was callous and just stuck the passenger with some napkins saying it does that. I don't fly Delta a lot and my experience in this trip isn't inspiring much confidence."

Cons: "On this A320 craft, old style, the First class seats are a joke. I had seat 2B. The pitch is apparently less than in the Comfort+ rows. The passengers in 1A and 1B started reclining even before departure, and during the whole flight. For me and my neighbor, with that seat on our chest, it was impossible to reach down to the seat-back pocket, not to mention to the bag stowed under the seat in front. To get out of the seat, I almost could not get my legs through the 5-in. interval between the back of the front seat and the irremovable armrest. I shook the passenger sleeping in 1B rather violently a couple times. The lady in seat 2B apologized, but she had to climb and put her feet on my seat to get out of hers, there was really no other way. Delta needs to address this ridiculous situation of their First Class seats urgently."

Cons: "The fact that Frontier charges for both checked luggage and carry-on luggage is enough to make me not want to use this airline again in the future. The food and drink options on the plane are also ridiculously overpriced. If Frontier were to price their in-flight food and drinks they would make a lot more money as budget minded people like myself would actually buy an item or two as opposed to refusing to buy anything at all. Overpricing food and drink items and charging for checked and carry-on luggage also has the added negative effect of me never wanting to use this airline again in the future. I will also actively dissuade friends and family from using Frontier."

It seems as if Frontier arbitrarily tacks on that charge, tricking their customers like con artists who will fall for this absurdity. The air conditioning did not work well and they almost forgot to give us water. Maybe they even charged for the water. The attendants were rude. Dont fly Frontier unless you really really really need to save a dime or two."

Then, as we were landing, the turbulence was bad and we were descending extremely quickly. The plane then pulled up and started ascending back into the air and did a lap around the airport. I wasn't sure we were going to make it back to the ground in one piece. Not the most comfortable experience. Overall poor flight."

Cons: "Itemized costs for everything - can be a pain and add up to the costs. I mean charge for beverages, water and light snacks, thats pretty standard and expected. So it leads to very bad customer experience and feeling annoyed that you have to pay for everything. Although I dind't pay for carryon, or any drinks or food as I didn't get any. I felt annoyed and went a way with the feeling. I am NEVER going to fly frontier. Although I might fly frontier in the future that might be my last resort and will try to Avoid it as much as I can."

So let's talk about these seats. They are literally an inch thick. Like I mentioned previously, the seat part is only about half as deep as normal seats. It ended at mid-thigh for me and I'm short (5'3"). Accordingly the tray tables are only a hand's width, put a drink on it and that's about it."

I found the disclosures about the fees very clear and easy to understand, which enabled me to select the best option for me. Even when the beverage cart came by and I requested a Coke Zero (which they had!) the flight attendant, verily politely reminded me that they do charge. As I told her, at 30,000 ft, $1.95 seems very reasonable for a can of soda. There were no surprises, and the staff was great. I will definitely fly again."

Most airlines would have a contingency plan for this which might include (a) early notification to passengers (b) automatic rebooking connections. Pretty much all would be able to get you to your continental U.S. destination sometime that day. Frontier can't and doesn't even try. They informed the passengers of a 4.5 hour delay right at the time we were supposed to board. Then they informed the vast majority of the passengers with connections that not only would we not make the connections but that we would not make our final destinations that day (it's still 6:30 a.m. at this point). They refused to book us on other airlines. They offered to either give us $100 for a hotel or to refund this leg of the trip and our $40 carry-on fee (another scourge) and told us good luck. I booked a very expensive one-way flight on United so I could get home."

If you are looking for "cheap" remember to add on all the fees charged for bags, select seats, beverages before comparing to other airlines."

Cons: "For my outgoing flight, my front pocket magazine holder in front was pretty covered in some stain that I couldn't recognize but was sticky to the touch. I knew they hadn't really cleaned the plane. I didn't really open that magazine holder because it was covered by this large stain. My return flight was changed several times due to mechanical issues but I appreciate that Kayak sent updates via email. It was 70% likely not to fly but ended up flying maybe 3 hrs later (good that they made sure to be safe than sorry) but I just couldn't wait to find out overnight that it would be cancelled at the airport, so I had to reschedule my flight for the next day and find housing and transportation again. I overheard other passengers complained out loud even on the initial flight to OAK airport that they would not travel with Spirit again, but I had more issues with my return flight than my outbound flight. All in all, I think you get what you pay for but this was probably not the best experience."

Cons: "CARRY-ONS cost money. They cost more money if you don't buy them ahead of time. It costs extra to CHECK IN WITH AN AGENT. The airline is not upfront about any of this. These charges supposedly keep the cost of the ticket low: You only pay for exactly what you want (ie: if you don't have carry-ons, you can get away with paying less.). This is bullshit. They charge for WATER— tap water— on the plane. It is purely a money making scheme. They don't have repeat customers because they are awful. Oh and the seats are tinier than any flight I've ever been on. Truly the worst flying experience of my life."

Rather than wait 1-2 hours while two totally unprepared ticket counter clerks tried to accommodate 100 PO'd travellers, I decided to get one of the few tickets available to Denver leaving that day. It cost me $375. I finally got thru to the Spirit Customer Service desk (somewhere in the Philipines?) where somebody did try to help, although the line was sketchy and the accent indecipherable. I recommend not listing Spirit on your site."
