There was very little legroom even though these were sold as first class seats. The plane was old and dirty, the armrests were sticky."

The seats are extremely tiny the tree table is so small you can barely fit an English muffin on it. There is no entertainment whatsoever, there is no Internet on the plane, and if you want anything to eat or drink besides water you will be paying for it. I’m sorry to say but flying on frontier was more like a punishment for me. I always fly American and wanted to save a few dollars what a mistake! With American most the planes that I have flown in have free movie entertainment and everybody seat the seats are comfortable And recline. And the snacks are free along with the soda. Please think twice before flying frontier."

The crew finally figured out how uncomfortable and frustrated people were getting 2.5 hours to sitting with no air on the tarmac. They relieved their customers suffering then with complimentary water! Now that’s service. Frontier is one of the most base airlines out there. I’m entirely frustrated that they are one of the only airlines that service our podunk airport."

Arrived "on time" but wouldn't let us and other paying customers through to our gate...wanted to make me pay additionally for our return flight the NEXT day when we both had to miss work. Was very disappointed with customer service and the way thinga were handled from the beginning. Frontier has really declined as of recent. Supposed to be going on a trip in October and initially was going to use frontier but not sure I will be any longer. Wouldn't recommend to anyone after that."

Cons: "They lost my bags I was flying to Atlanta from Phoenix and my bag ended up in St Louis ... i would assume that if your going to make me pay for my checked bag it would atleast make it to the correct destination. The crew wasn't as pleasant and friendly as I'd like them to be but did there jobs (I guess) then we had to sit and wait for a gate .... the only reason why a gate finally opened up was because people started asking for snacks. Overall there was nothing special about this flight I was upset that I didn't have my luggage from the beggening of my trip but the day before I left my bag was recovered . The ticket was inexpensive but I'm not sure if it was worth the hasstle Then I had to pay for my bags coming back as well. Suggestion maybe have a 50% voucher ad a courtesy from sending a bag to the wrong destination."

I'm 5' 9" 148 pounds, young and very healthy. I left the plane with a twisted up neck like I've never had before. I landed safely so I MUST be thankful for that, but if I was booking I would want to know this information. Since I'm the wiser now I will not book with Frontier again. Also it was an extra $90 for my CARRY ON round trip. It notified me it would be extra when I booked online but didn't specify how much. What a surprise. I spent more on the fees for the bag than I spent on the bag itself (and most of the contents for that matter)."

After the fact, I was waiting to get to my seat behind a mom, and her approximately 6 year old son. As I am waiting to find my seat an attendant says to mean, "sir can you please find your seat, we can not back away until you sit down." At this point I am thinking what in the neck do you think it is I am trying to do, but I keep my mouth shut. Then, of course, I have a window seat. So I ask the people in my row to kindly allow me to get into my seat. While an elderly woman is in the process of moving so I can get to my seat, the same attendant says to me in a very demeaning tone "sir please find a seat." Again, I keep my mouth shut, but I am about to lose it on this guy. I finally am moving into my seat, and the attendant announcing over the speaker says, "we can play musical chairs later." I am just disgusted with the way these situations were carried out by the frontier staff. First I pretty much get 60 dollars stolen from me, then I get yelled at and made fun of because I was being kind, and not bashing through people to get to my seat. Not a very pleasant situation, I will never fly frontier again, spirit staff is way nicer, and the prices are cheaper too."

Cons: "Tried to cancel this flight using the flight insurance I was up sold during checkout. Turns out that the flight insurance was only available for international flights? When I ask the agent why it was the recommended during purchase, she said I should have read the full terms and conditions during checkout. To me, this was a true scam. She told me that I could appeal the conditions of the travel insurance, but I would have to present a death certificate of the friend's baby that had just passed - the reason the baby shower was cancelled, and the reason this trip was cancelled. It was appalling. I tried calling Frontier directly, but their reservation desk was closed due to their system being down. HOURS I tried to call, and could not get a rep. I ended up not able to cancel the flight or even speak w a Frontier rep before my flight departed. In all, I was given 6 different numbers or lines to call to sort through this situation. All I did was waste hours of my time. This was a terrible situation where I feel like I was the victim of a scam."

Cons: "Flight 1884 out of SFO was doomed from the beginning starting with a notice (thanks Kayak) via email that the flight would be 1 hour late. Then, the Departure board at the airport totally dropped the flight, Then (again thru Kayak) I read that the flight would NOT board in terminal 1, Gate 21, Domestic terminal, but ar gate A3 in the International terminal. We all had to exit domestic and go to international and again through TSA. Then the flight departed another 30 minutes late finally over 2 hours LATE! Upon arrival at Phoenix the plane taxied too far away from the exit ramp-another 40 minutes before we could depart. It was an awful flight experience. Did they offer a free soda or anything for inconvenience we experienced-NOT A THING!"

Also, they charged me to pick a seat, ANY seat, so what the hell am I paying for when I pay for a flight?! I also had to put my backpack under my seat, even though it was stated numerous times on their website that it would be too big, and I had to pay $40 to make it a carry-on, when there was no room in the overhead bins. Their customer service line AND website stated I could be charged up to DOUBLE that ($80) if I had to pay for it at the gate. I looked it up, and I would have payed less on at least two other carriers because of the extra charges. This is information that should CLEARLY be stated when listing the costs of a flight, not "covered" under "additional costs may apply" or some such legalese"

Cons: "I received notices of delayed departure of two hours but that same notice showed the arrived was delayed by over four hours. I called and talked to an agent and asked how my flight could have all of sudden gotten two hours longer and was told the delayed departure was correct and the arrive time was not. He said it was a mechanical issue and could change so I should still go to the airport an hour before my original departure time, which I did. When I arrived the flight was now delayed by more than four hours and I was told it was due to the crew being timed out so I had to sit there for five hours waiting to leave. I should be compensated for this error but cannot find out how to do that!"

Cons: "Had to pay $50.00 to check a bag and the weigh limit was only 40 lbs not 50 lbs like regular airlines. So the price of the ticket may have been low but after over $100 baggage charges I would have been better off buying a better airline ticket."

Cons: "The flight delays suck. The crew makes jokes that were not funny. I'm not afraid of flying but imagine someone who is. They would have had the heard crew making jokes about how many near crashes they've seen when taking off. The attendant closing the doors said I'm about to close the doors if you have a problem with it Catch me outside how bout dat. Not everyone would get that joke, so if you did not know about the Danielle Bregoli 10 mins of fame, then you would think it was very rude. In addition having cup o noodles and buzz balls as a choice sucks. The seats are super uncomfortable. No matter how small you are you will be touching shoulder to shoulder. Do not attempt to use your armrest. The seats hurt your bottom as well. Keep in mind I was on a flight for 1 hour. I'm not a big girl so that was not the problem. Carry on luggage the normal size, you have to pay for. So make sure you pay ahead or you will pay $100 at the gate."

I also was not informed through Kayak of these rules. They would not let me on the flight because I was waiting in line while 3 of the 4 check in attendants were not even helping people in line! I had to pay a $100 fee to change my flight and they didn't have any options for same day. The flight wasn't even boarding yet and there wasn't a line for security and the gate was very close. If they don't let passengers know of their rules when selling through a 3rd party website THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO SELL THROUGH 3rd PARTY WEBSITES! Absolutely disgraceful experience."
Pros: "Great first-time flight down to LA from Oakland. Great seat/lots of room/nice staff."
Cons: "My trip home was ruined when I had to pay an extra $65 for a super small roll-on bag. I was called out of the on boarding line and not informed as to why. This experience was embarrassing and made me feel awful. I would have not been so upset if I had to pay the same fee on the way down. I actually was able to bring 2 carry-ons out of Oakland without any charge. The LAX SPIRIT team made me consolidate into one bag (which I did earlier) and then charged me an outrageously high fee for a small, 18" roll on that fits under the seat! SPIRIT is inconsistent in their service/policies airport to airport. They have lost me as a customer based on how they nickel and dime their customers with inconsistent policy enforcement of their policies. This industry continues to bulldoze the customer and makes air travel beyond painful."
Cons: "I was on time and it took me a couple of minutes at the kiosk to check in. The online checkin was not working either on spirit airlines.com. I missed The cut off by 2 minutes literally. I told the agent I wasn't aware of their policy that all gates close 45mins prior to boarding. It's not like I had a checked bag in which case I would understand. Letting someone not board a plane 45 mins prior to arriving at the airport is just plain madness. They were so unadjusting and not ready to listen and then wanted me to pay $99 to fly the next day. Their service seriously needs major upgrade. I try not flying spirit because of this reason and now will avoid it at all costs."

The cancellation hotline was not too helpful - they rebooked me on a Delta flight connecting to two more United flights. Delta flight was delayed so I would have missed my 2 connections. Finally rebooked me on another Southwest flight to New Orleans (final destination) that they should have rebooked me on in the first place. Also discovered upon my second rebooking that the initial rebooking agent did not rebook my return flight, so I would not have had a seat had my first rebooking leg not been delayed. Only offered at $50 Spirit voucher for the inconvenience. Definitely never taking Spirit again."

Cons: "On your best day you will pay money for every little thing carry-on, seat assignments even water. But this last experience was the worst, when checking flight status our flight was delayed 45 min, when we arrived at the airport it was only delayed 15 and we were denied entry to the flight BC we were only 40 min early not 45. Even though we were not check bags and are TSA pre check and would have easily made out flight. Money wasted, awful airline, awful aircraft, awful customer service. Book at your own risk."

Cons: "spirit attempts to force a customer to register with their site in order to check-in, their ticket rates are a bit lower than the competitor but charge $50 for a normal checked bag, have one kiosk for check-in, very few gates /low priority at airports which causes longer waits for boarding and deboarding. Overall the experience with Spirit has been horrible and expensive. Their business practice includes deceptive pricing, over charging for luggage, and long waits. I will never fly with Spirit again."
Pros: "i have flown spirit multiple times out of phoenix in all kinds of weather and not once has it ever taken off on time! once the airline attendant even yelled at the passengers upon arrival at the gate like we were all children. I decided to check the status today instead of waiting in the airport for four hours and yes--- again it was delayed one hour and then two hours. so I planed accordingly and planned to be at the airport 1.5 hours ahead of the revised flight time. then they changed the flight time again and now I've missed my flight. this airline is absolutely the worst and I have flown domestically and internationally for over 35 years. I'm done with you spirit!"

Cons: "The fact you charge 45 dollars for a carry on...when other airlines allow you to have a free carry on. It's already bad enough you cram people on the plane like sardines with your nonsuffocient leg room. Like seriously, thenleg room you allow is great for an average 9 year old but when your 6 foot tall and you spend a 6 hour flight with your knees crammed into the seat in front of you and your seat is broken and won't recline. I remember why I always pay for for airfair to be comfortable and not packed like a sardine"
Cons: "My flight was first delayed, then cancelled just a couple of hours before it was scheduled to depart. Spirit was unable/unwilling to provide me with another flight to my destination on the same day, and as a result I had to book a flight with another airline. Spirit refunded my ticket price, but I had to pay 5 times that much to book a flight with such short notice on another airline, and Spirit refused to do anything else to compensate me for this huge loss of money, due to their cancellation of the flight I had booked. I will never fly Spirit again."

The person at the kiosk said I needed to speak to someone at the gate. The lady at the gate said not to worry, we weren't even getting off of this plane. 10 MINUTES BEFORE BOARDING, I'm told that I'm going to miss my connecting flight and that my options were to either sleep over at Vegas or fly out the next day. I decided to fly out the next day, getting to my destination at noon. Got home, looked up the flight that the man at the kiosk booked me, AND IT WAS GETTING IN AT 11PM THE NEXT NIGHT. I called Spirit, infuriated that the rep literally lied to me, and asked to speak with a manager. I was told that a manager would have to call me back (WHAT?). I have yet to receive a phone call. I will never, EVER, EVER, fly Spirit airlines ever again."

Then I get to my seat, which for some reason has a folding trey table within the seat, making the seat smaller than the others. I'm a tall man, this was the most uncomfortable flight I've ever flown on. I was squeezed into a seat that didn't fit. I won't be flying with you again, and will suggest my friends and family not as well. You charged $55 for a carry-on bag? What a con!"

Cons: "Extra charges for everything! Paying for carry-on bags, assigning seats, drinks/snacks, etc. No inflight entertainment. No wifi option etc. At the end, you pay the same (or more) for the flight that lags traditional services."
Pros: "Staff at Spirit Airlines at OAK airport were really nice and helpful. Flight was cheap and safely flown - a huge plus for me, but plane not cleaned well and baggage fees were higher than the price of the flight itself so I am very lucky I brought a recognized carry-on bag."
Cons: "For my outgoing flight, my front pocket magazine holder in front was pretty covered in some stain that I couldn't recognize but was sticky to the touch. I knew they hadn't really cleaned the plane. I didn't really open that magazine holder because it was covered by this large stain. My return flight was changed several times due to mechanical issues but I appreciate that Kayak sent updates via email. It was 70% likely not to fly but ended up flying maybe 3 hrs later (good that they made sure to be safe than sorry) but I just couldn't wait to find out overnight that it would be cancelled at the airport, so I had to reschedule my flight for the next day and find housing and transportation again. I overheard other passengers complained out loud even on the initial flight to OAK airport that they would not travel with Spirit again, but I had more issues with my return flight than my outbound flight. All in all, I think you get what you pay for but this was probably not the best experience."

Cons: "They charged $110 for golf clubs and a small suitcase. My flight was going to be on time but the decided to give that plane to the people heading to Vegas because they had been delayed all morning. Spirit told us we would be delayed four hours, then 30 minutes later they said the flight was completely cancelled. I had to go back to the main terminal to pick up my bags and had to go to the Spirit Airlines ticket counter to rebook and get a refund. The line was so long and slow it would have taken hours to talk to someone from Spirit. I called Customer Service and was on hold for 50 minutes before I could finally get refunded. This made me miss the last Spring Training game in AZ! I've been flying for 35 years and this was the worst flying experience in my life!"

Cons: "Cancelled flight at the very last minute because of lack of crew. Not enough staff to accommodate travellers trying to rebook flights. Inept and apathetic staff who were obviously resigned to the fact that Spirit is a substandard airline There was miscommunication and lack of communication in organizing travelers which caused multiple altercations between upset travelers. It was a very disturbing experience. My rebooking took an hour because the staff member didn't know how to rebook! The 'Supervisor' who was at the next desk, was SLOWLY checking bags for other customers and did not help AT ALL. I suggested that he switch places with my agent. He ignored me competely. Attempts to call Spirit resulted in multiple auto transfers and ultimately an intentional auto cut off. I was rebooked on United. When I checked in at their desk, they told me that all the other transferred Spirit customers before me had been sent back to the Spirit Desk because their transfers had not gone through. I have been warned about Spirit. Now I would warn anyone considering Spirit. If it goes right, you're ok. If not, get ready for a travel nightmare. No one needs this kind of abuse."
Cons: "We paid $50 to check my wife's bag and they lost it! They also charge you $55 for a carry-on bag. We are only in Arizona for four days and it had everything important in it for us and our baby. The sad thing is that my smaller checked bag was shipped properly but we had nothing important in it. If they hadn't lost our luggage I think my review would be a lot different or our experience would be much better."

This wouldn't make me as upset as i am right now but what pisses me off most is the fact that an employee for Spirit told me you only need to pay the added fee once for the flight to Oakland airport but needn't pay again for the trip back to LAX. This was a lie, for they said you must pay the same fee again for the the return flight. Seriously?! Not only that, but upon arriving 45 min early for the return flight to LAX, they told me I missed my flight and could not check in. To top it off, I was charged 75 $ to find the new flight which wasn't even for the next day but the day after for the same time.. Along side the very rude costumer service from your airline staff, you ask how i would rate my experience with Spirit airlines? TERRIBLE! I would give 0 stars if possible and never again will I book another ticket for Spirit airlines ever again."

Cons: "I had my boarding pass on my cell phone, but the security gate scanner cannot read Spirit passes electronically. I asked an Spirit agent to print my boarding pass, and she DECLINED to help. We went into a 20 minutes argument, and at the end, she called the boarding gate and told to leave since I was unable to pass without my boarding pass printed. The superviser showed up, but was of no help. At I needed was a boarding pass printed, to be able to pass the security gate. I lost my flight because of their incapability."
