Reservation personnel took logical course of action to find new flight for connection that we could make because of delayed initial flight. I would recommend that they first see if there is an earlier initial flight that the customer could make, then look at finding later connecting flights. We found out about delay 8 hours prior, so we had plenty of time to get to the airport earlier. Total delay required me to take additional day off of work."

I understand that weather delays are essentially out of airlines' hands. However, if the delay is caused for other reasons like "mechanical issues", or any other errors or miscommunications within the airline itself, then they should be held liable. My time is worth money, so any delays not weather-related should result in a reasonable refund based on the duration of the delay. An apology doesn't placate customers' frustration and inconvenience due to delays."

When my 1st flight was delayed I asked to be rebooked then and the delta employee insisted that I would make my connection. I didn't make it. This is not all. I could have gotten to a near city several hours after but on the same day, but the mediocrecy of this employes did not allow me to get there until the next day at 7 am. Happy new year to me. This two women (or one of them) on the phone, lied to me. There was an option to get me here and one of them failed to do their job right AND LIED TO MY FACE ON THE PHONE. Just unacceptable. I will sue them, I had an under age waiting for me in Cancun and a pet with me!. With no food or access to do its necessities. AND THERE WAS AN OPTION THAT "they missed" on porpuse."

I think that this was because of issues with the website, apparently due to IT system communication between American Airlines and Cathay Pacific.......on all six flights. On the transfer in San Francisco, Customs was closed when we arrived in San Francisco and we had to haul all of our baggage from one terminal to the other. There was no direction on how to handle this issue of Customs being closed while on the flight to San Francisco. I had to explain the issue of to the CP customer service crew in SF. The CP desk and they had never heard of it. American Airlines was equally poorly trained. I will also say that while at the CP customer service, there were three young adult males that we're not busy at the time and the watched us unload the baggage carts onto the scales and conveyor and then reloaded on to the carts to push to the AA terminal. We handled the bags two additional times because the CP staff did not know what to do and how to handle it. Other passengers were confused as well."

I didn't know what terminal to go to. I finally checked in with American even after they told me to go to British Airways. Next, American said that my booking was messed up such that they couldn't check my bag through. So at Chicago I had to exit the Secure area, pick up my bag from baggage check, check it back in and go back through security. I still didn't have my ticket for the chicago-barcelona leg of the trip. At American, they told be I had to exit the airport again to go to British Airways for the Chicago- Barcelona leg of the trip. Luckily, i asked another agent and she confirmed my flight was though American. It was the most confusing flight experience, I have ever had."

Due to your incomparable incompetence my arrival was inexcusably delayed almost 12 hours. An account follows: For a company who's customer service is already hanging by a very thin thread you would think that you would be doing everything to make your flights as smooth and pleasant as possible. Shall I elaborate on the utter frustration and boredom of being trapped in the San Francisco airport facing not one, not two, but what became SEVEN delays? Delays that have been caused by runway maintenance- a condition which someone in your company would have known about well before I got to the airport and that you simply did not plan for. A almost FOUR HOUR delay that could have been easily avoided if you just had things together and scheduled your planes around the affected runways. And let's not forget the additional delay caused when your flight crew simply couldn't be found to come to the gate so we could start getting underway! But no, I think the absolutely outstanding quintessential experience that defines flying with United airlines is this: After the above delays myself and my fellow passengers were finally able to board our flight- only to be told by the captain that there would be another brief delay while we waited for ANOTHER crew member because one of the pilots was near the end of their union hours. We sit on the plane stuck for another 20 minuets or so, only to be told they can't find anyone, and can we please get off the plane because our WHOLE FLIGHT is CANCELED. The kiosk I get to try and fix this is uncrowded but understaffed and run by clearly undertrained employees. The ones I'm dealing with keep having to ask each other for help, and give advice/plans that contradict one another. One of theme even takes what seems to be a personal call while 'assisting' me. When I finally get ahold of a supervisor I have to plead to get the next flight out of this godforsaken place, which I am reluctantly given as its with one of your competitors. Talking with other customer and airport staff is sounds very much like you are delaying/canceling flights for your own personal gain or at least not correcting flights around the situation to squeeze more money from the situation) it becomes quite clear that you are not only still incapable of accepting any real measure of accountability but entirely disgracefully unorganized. Almost 12 hours later I do finally make it home- thanks to American Airlines. Only to have the utter displeasure of one last interaction with United wherein when I pick up my bag your employees insist that I was delayed due to the weather and it wasn't your fault. It was entirely absolutely your fault."

Meal voucher was denied by 2 different United customer service people..i don't consider construction out of human control ,like weather. Also ,I found it annoying that because a woman in front of me started crying over her missed I connection for an international trip, she was given a meal voucher.Agents were unfriendly and not sympathetic.Long line of customers with only 3 agents , but of course, they had to still use one for elite customers."

After another 1.5 hours without reaching a representative we had to rush back to the gate to board. In Frankfurt had to stay in standby for the next alternative flight. So I had to buy a new bottle for my medicine that I have to take. You would think she would have got it by me carrying these bottles around but nope. She actually said to me that I can give her gratuity now if I wanted. I gave her $1. She then replied in a sarcastic voice " Thankyou you are soooo generous. I don't like feeling obligated to tip somebody because I am disabled and have a bullet in my head."

United representatives could not find a flight that guaranteed a seat (not on a long standby list) that was even in the same 12 hour period. I spoke with a United supervisor who showed zero empathy or concern with the situation. In the end I arranged for other travel accommodations to drive to my family reunion destination. No refund was issued or offered. I was informed I would have to call United customer service after the date of my previously scheduled return flight to explain my situation. I will personally never fly United again and would recommend the same to anyone. Although for the record, I did receive a single ten dollar airport food voucher for my inconvenience. Inexcusable."
