It appears that 1 child was accompanied by 4 adults when they pre-boarded and in addition to their carry-ons, they put their foldable stroller, backpacks and totes in the overhead bin!! The airline announced a request for people to leave the overhead bin spaces for bigger carryons but does not enforce it. Flight attendants should not feel uncomfortable actually asking to whom the backpack or tote belong to and tell passengers to put those under their seats. Somehow, passengers need to be educated on proper etiquette. Also, pre-boarding should only allow 1-2 people to accompany a child or an elderly person. Pre-boarding should not be taken advantage of by all adults traveling with those needing it."

All the while, your crews expected me (an alien from Asia) that I should have known every thing get it through, or to claim my suitcase charges. I am really disappointed for the lack of understanding. To you, it may be something happened so common everyday. To me, I was totally lost to handle this."

After taxiing, the pilot informed us of withheld information, that ATC would delay our departure for ~40 minutes, but we could STILL try to make it up in the air. This was a bold faced lie. It was finally 9:52pm before we even took off from SFO. While idling, the cabin started to reek of jet fuel, and people started coughing and sneezing. Upon landing at LAX at 10:46pm, we were told that there was no gate for us, and that we would have to wait for an amount of time that kept changing every time there was an announcement. The toxic jet fumes started to permeate the cabin again, and people started coughing and sneezing in response. Ultimately it is 11:21pm by the time we reached our gate. At this point, the jetway was broken/failed to open, but despite this, the air conditioning was switched off and pax crowd the aisles without direction. Finally we managed to escape at 11:31pm."

Cons: "In Osaka I was not able to get a boarding pass for this last leg. In SF United and Air China were both not able to give me a boarding pass because I was not listed in their system. I have no idea why. Very frustrating."

Cons: "One of the crew members at the gate! I believe her name was Jackie or jaciquiene at SF was the most inconsecrate women I have ever met! She was yelling at me to put my bag in the bag to see if it will fit. She was completely rude and acted like she hated her job! I will NEVER fly with UNITED again! I will be contacting United regarding this issue as well! The other lady at the gate called her led and after that she contacted her supervisor and they also didn't let me on the flight! This was the worst experience I have EVER had! I will NEVER FLY WITH UNITED AGAIN."

Pros: "Our names are Steve and Jan Hovde if you have any other questions about our flight concerns. We can be reached by phone at 360-332-8414. We did not call FAA, but still very much a concern. We have flown United other times and many other airlines and many Boeing 737's...we noticed other passengers looking at each other because of the clunking and growling sounds."
Cons: "most important I vowed I would try and call FAA about safety concerns with the plane. Mechanical noises prior to take off , during flight(right fan whine) - could hear it when started engines in SF., Some loud clunking at take off bringing in landing wheels and again letting down for landing in Seattle. When plane came to stop at the gate, again some noises we have never heard before on 737's. Please check out that plane more closely. Part of our concern is that Pilot mentioned before take off that they had problems with scheduled 737 and they needed extra time to locate another 737 that could be used(Why our take off was rescheduled twice and different gate)......it seemed that one that had been mothballed may have been brought out to use......We did mention some of this tactfully to stewardess' standing near exit when we got off the plane(She seemed surprised and wondered what we were talking about. We were so thankful we made it. We just figured that flight crew would be tracking these odd noises and pass along to captain if he couldn't hear."

Cons: "Showed up at airport w 2 15 yr olds traveling alone. We're told we needed to pay $150 each way. We were NOT told when tix were purchased. Accused of lying about the girls ages when we booked. Tix were booked and paid by two different parents and times. Agent relented and waived fee. At the gate we were again challenged and had to go thru it all again. No more United for us!"
Cons: "Confusions on dates from Internet. Your site usually sets its own dates without confirming."
Cons: "I nearly missed getting a cup of ice as the refreshment cart went up the isle. The attendant tried to give me a small sack of "snacks" instead. I had to repeat myself, over the back of our seats, two more times before I got my cup of ice. I said Thanks! But the look on the attendant's (male, black) face said I wasn't "welcome"."
Cons: "Should load the plane from the back rather from the front. People in the back can sort their stuff while still be able to load people into the front."

Cons: "We had to sit on the Tarmac for 20 minutes before taking off due to low cloud cover over Seattle."
Pros: "While waiting in the terminal for everyone to board and the plane to be cleared you got your options of watching everything on the Direct TV headrest screens. It was interesting to see what people watched at 1am (4am my time)."
Cons: "Received another handful of snack mix, which was fine. At least I knew not to eat it this time. Once the plan took off, the headrest screens asked you to pay some ridiculous amount of money to watch them for the hour that we were on the plan. I wasn't surprised, but I never found out who killed the lady in my show. Bummer."

Pros: "Booked on kayak, assigned a middle seat with a lap infant (ridiculous!) There were no aisle or window seats available but gate agent was able to move us to a bulkhead so at least we had enough leg room to accommodate us both. Thank you United, but thumbs down to auto seat assignments."
