This was my first time ever taking a JetBlue flight and will sure be my last, especially when I paid 100 dollars more for this flight than what United was offering- I should of took United."

Why they would think we would want to fly on that plane after the pilot refused the "fix" and left because he and his crew "timed out" because we waited so long. Flight was scheduled to depart at 8:26pm, we didn't depart until well after 1am. I got home at 6am! The ladies at the gate were awesome, however the "supervisor, Armondo Gonzalez Figueroa, only came to restate what had already been said by the gate agents, did not have ANY answers, did not offer any solutions, barely answered any questions, and stopped the gate agents from removing blankets of the plane to provide to the many many passengers who were waiting there freezing. The compensation offered was a joke. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!"

Cons: "The flight back to tampa from san juan was a complete nightmare! We arrived at the gate 15 minutes before and was extremely upset to find out that the gates were closed. The pilot and the attendants saw that we were banging on the door and yet they just stared at us. The plane wasnt detached from the terminal which is why I didnt understand why they couldnt let me in unless they sold my seat. An attendant finally came out by the name of Chanel (the AD Lead). All she did is rebook me for 2 days later and told me that that flight might get cancelled due to the hurricane. She wasn't even trying at all to help me. She had a rude attitude and told me that she will be back to help me. Yeah right! She came back 3 hours later! I could not stand to even look at this unprofessional employee. I paid extra to fly jetblue as I have been told they have great customer service. Pshhhh.... I myself had to call jetblue and spoke to melinda (customer service supervisor) she was trying everything in her power and it really showed. An attendant came and started checking the next flight out of puerto rico to ft. Lauderdale. Melinda put me on stand by for the flight and ecen spoke directly to the Natalie who was checking guests on the flight. Two seats came available for me and my husband to get back to florida. We then rented a car and drove 4 hours back to tampa. I was just completely disgusted on how Chanel handled the whole situation. I told her that I had medical treatments the next morning in tanpa that I could not miss but yet she did not at all seem to care. As a lead I thought she would at least put me on stand by to go to ft. Lauderdale. That wasnt even an option for Chanel. She was completely worthless and had a stupid look on her face when she saw me get on the plane to fy. Lauderdale. Something she could have helped me with instead of saying she would be right back and left me for 3 hours later with no help. Jetblue, I say this in the kindest of ways, please fire chanel. People like that will only cost you guys more in the future as you will loose so much clientel due to the unprofessional conduct and customer service she gave. Hire more Natalie's and Melindas who help you regardless of the situation and not Chanel who didnt care and was a bother to her to put in the same type of customer service that Melinda and Natalie gave me."

Cons: "The flight was delayed due to weather, which is fine, the delay was 45 minutes, not a big deal....Here's the but...when it came to boarding time, they announced that it was not going to be boarding by zones and that everyone should just get on the plane. On top of what appeared to be a mass exodus, or perhaps something you'd see in a third world country, those people who paid more $$ to have carry on bags, in zone 1 and be able to board first were most certainly not feeling the value. The gate experience was not well organized or orchestrated. After getting off the plane, our daughter realized once in baggage claim that she left her backpack on the plane. Not being experienced in this area, we asked for help. A police officer told my wife to go to Frontier office, where there was no one in the office, someone else said have them paged. There was no white courtesy phone in the area that was operating, so she went to Southwest and asked if they could page someone to come to the Frontier office and they said no, walked to next terminal to find a working courtesy phone, paged someone to Frontier and within 5 minutes ,10 people showed up. Asked if someone could help. They radioed to the gate that a passenger left their bag. What the rep should have said was that they called the gate, hopefully someone locates and if they do, they will bring it here and we will check on it in a few minutes. The person didn't say a word, 5 minutes later my wife asked what happens now. After a nice sigh and eye roll, the Frontier rep says if they found, they bring it. My wife asked would it be possible to see if they found it instead of just waiting around here for bodies to appear. The bag was eventually found and returned but the experience was just now a good one to say the least."

My wife and I went to Tampa Airport trying to find any flight out due Hurricane Irma making landfall on Saturday. Frontier was the only airline closed!!!! Every other airline was open trying to get out as many passengers as they could!"

The final boarding call was made TWENTY minutes before take off, forcing me to wait in a huge line to get to my seat (during which time I could have easily used the bathroom). The plane then still left 5 minutes late."

They charged me an additional $30 fee for my bag being 49 pounds. Thought the limit was 50. They charged $3 for water. When we started our descent with about 45 minutes left they again turned the lights up to blaring. The best part of the flight was when it was over. Never again. Only Southwest from now on.. Crooks"

Cons: "I traveled with my daughter her husband and my grandson. We loaded a recently purchased holdup stroller at the entry door with a cup holder and when we got it in Detroit (which was better than their arrival in Tampa as the stroller did NOT arrive until later that night as it was lost somehow) it was missing. My daughter went to the lost luggage service counter and asked if they could find it, and was told that WE should have known to remove it and if they wanted to purchase it and send the receipt they would reimburse. No one informed us of removing it at the door, we were told to board and leave it. Replacing only the cupholder will be extremely difficult. So this made me very disappointed as a customer."

Cons: "Fare cheap but all the 'musts'made it more than any other airline: $9 Online fee; $25 kiosk fee (which didn't work and had to pay $50 fee to check in with clerk; had to check bag approved for under seat/carry on (12"c12") and since kiosk didn't work, charged $60 for 1st bag, even though I paid $60 for a 'first checked bag' and 2nd bag should hAve been cheaper. It was TSA agent who told me I would be required to check the bag by Spirit as it didn't meet carry on criteria and if I didn't check now, would be $100 at gate. I told her that I was traveling back with same TSA approved (and Spirit online rules) and she became rude and rejected my bag (and did a complete body search) so, I was forced to check the bag or miss my flight. I asked her and the Spirit clerk (3) if this was a TSA/ Spirit racket with kickbacks for TSA and/or Spirit and NOT on of them laughed, smiled, or denied this question. Mever again will I fly Spirit airlines or recommend to anyone!"
Pros: "the flight itself was fast and not bumpy at all, other than this everything else was not great."
Cons: "hated everything about it and will not be flying with them again, also they seemed more inclined to get you to buy stuff, you dont even get a complimentary cup of water, how sad."

Cons: "the flight was delayed again and again for over 18 hours even as other planes from other airlines took off around us. at one point we boarded the flight and sat 10 feet from the gate for over an hour before they returned us to thr gate and made us disembark. for another set of delays we were told that the person supposed to tow the plane had lost his access badge and another person had to drive in from home to do the work. other than this, the gate staff gave the passengers limited to no information. no amenities were provided to delayed passengers (no snacks, accommodations, etc). plus, the terminal had only one women's restroom with only two stalls, one of which was frequently out of toilet paper."
Pros: "Big front seats were roomy with plenty of legroom and width"
Cons: "Big front seats have a hard as rock head piece, pushing your neck forward. Neckache for 2 days for both travelers. Bring a neck pillow to survive!"
Cons: "Flight was cancelled. I was supposed to fly out of Las Vegas on Sunday and after cancelling the flight, Spirit did not offer any other options to get home that day. I wound up booking with another airline and had to call out of work the next day because it was nearly impossible to get home. I'll never fly Spirit again."
Pros: "Spirit offers a very reasonable set of conditions for a minimal ticket price. It'd no frills and the seats are adequate but they don't recline and legroom is at a minimum. If you are flexible enough to tolerate the limitations it's a great deal."
Pros: "It was my first time with this company and I truly enjoyed the experience . Everyone was so accommodating, keep up the great work"
Cons: "Too many hidden fees! Buyer beware! The $55 carry on baggage fee is outrageous! We heard that the baggage fees are less if you book them online before your trip. We went online to do just that for the return trip and we were pleased to see that the fee was $36 - until we went to pay and there was a $9 fee tacked on because we weren't part of the "$9 Club"! We will never book with Spirit again. We will opt for the slightly higher flight cost and avoid the hidden fees! Overall, the flight was more expensive than any of our other options."
Pros: "The boarding process was smooth and quick. The planes are new and clean. Crew is nice. Direct flight from California to Philadelphia."
Cons: "The seats are small and very uncomfortable. The fold out tray is extremely small as well as the arm rests. Seats don't recline at all. Everything costs money. You pay for your seat and you pay for your luggage. $46 to carry on and $42 to check luggage. Seats are anywhere from $10-$50. I don't feel I saved money by flying spirit."

Cons: "Spirit put us all on the plane, knowing that we were going to taxi out 10 minutes then cut the engines and sit. We sat parked on the taxiway for 2/12 hours. Then we taxied back to the gate, waited while they assembled a gate crew, got back off the plane and the flight was cancelled. Then all 300 passengers had to go all the way back to the Spirit check-in counter back in the terminal and stand in line for another 2 hours just to hear that the soonest they could get us to our destination was going to be 2 days later. We requested a full refund....which as it turns out was about $30 shy of what we paid. Honestly, you can't make this stuff up. In my world "Spirit" no longer exists."
Pros: "The lady working at the gate 17 checkin for the flight from TPA to IAH was excellent!"
Cons: "I arrived to checkin in my bag early so I could relax in the airport only to be created with a sign stating that no one would be available to assist me until 4 PM which was two hours later? I then proceeded to pay by the kiosk to check my bag to be safe but then was unable to leave it. I then had to still carry the bag around only to return and be at the back of an extremely long line of people waiting. I finally get through then proceeded to my gate 17 to checkin. Once one the plane I noticed several people with bags the size of mine as carry on which meant I just wasted $52. I was extremely disgusted because I could have possibly had this issue resolved and saved my hard earned money if someone was at the baggage checkin desk."

Cons: "1. WEB did not work for checking-in on-line, In airport more passengers told the same problem. But Spirit did not want to hear it, and charged highest price as check-in in airport..2.There are no option in check-in for e-mail. If you don't have print...your problem. 3. My seat was dirty, the crew told that they don't have vacuum cleaner, and don't have empty seats. 4. Since flight was late, we had to seat in airplane for 2 additional hours , In Spain pilot in similar situation offered free Champlain, Spirit did not offer even water."
Pros: "Everything went smooth! From boarding to landing it was efficient, which is exactly what I expect from this airline."
Cons: "Hidden fees everywhere. The money saved is no where close to being worth the discomfort and unreliability"

Cons: "Flight was cancelled one hour before boarding and the re booking agents would not assist me to place me on a flight anywhere. They were rude and did not refund me any additional money to cover my travel expenses to and from the airport which was 60 since I live an hour away. They yelled at me when I asked for places to go and did not cooperate at all with me. I missed a family reunion this weekend as a result"

Cons: "Since I ordered through kayak I wasn't allowed to add additional bags. This cost me quite a bit more money. Then I called prior to online booking and the customer service agent was horrible. Deceived me into to pay more money for bags. She was also very rude and not helpful at all. This was a horrible experience. I am not even going into the flight. I was seated next to someone that was probably close to 400 pounds. He spent most of the time in my seat. Now I am sympathetic to obese people but Spirit should have placed him in one of the two seater rows or something like that. It was an absolute miserable experience."
Cons: "My flight to Philadelphia due to "weather." No notice, no effort to place us on another flight. Typical Spirit which is why I try to avoid flying with them whenevet possible. My mistake."
Cons: "The flight was delayed by weather. However, the Spirit e-mails were inaccurate and I almost missed boarding because I believed the e-mails and the airport board. When I, by chance checked the board, I found out that the incoming plane in question had landed and, therefore, went to the gate and learned that Spirit had "secretly" moved things up and would soon close the door. Had I believed the e-mail from Spirit, I would have been left -- and they would have blamed it on me -- because I relied on Spirit's e-mails."

Cons: "My flight to LA was delayed by a systems crash, we spent 2-1/2 hours at the gate before departing. My return flight wagon time and I was looking forward to a relatively comfortable flight home, as i'd paid extra for an exit row seat on the aisle. instead, the person who sat next to me man-spreaded into my personal/seat space, shoving his shoulders into my ribs and making the 7 hour cross-country flight, exceedingly uncomfortable. When i voiced my complaints to him, he replied in an entitled and indignant fashion and redoubled his effort to invade my personal space. What's worse, is that this man was wearing a Spirit Airlines uniform and presumably, did not pay for his seat. I will never fly Spirit again."
Cons: "We were in the airport, past security, in the terminal waiting to board a plane that never showed up. Kayak sent an email saying the flight was cancelled. There was no indication from Spirit through electronic communication, notifications on their in airport boards, and there were not even any spirit employees in the airport terminal. I called spirit. They confirmed that the flight was cancelled and assured me that it was okay and that they would be able to get me on another flight... in eight days. Yes, really, 8 days. I demanded a refund, flew with another airline, and vowed to never fly spirit again."
Cons: "an hour after our supposed boarding time, we were told that the plane needed to reboot but I would still make my connection flight in Ft Lauderdale. After another 2 hours I was then told that I can board the flight which was now leaving at 3 am opposed to the scheduled 9:30 pm flight, but they did not have another connection flight until the next evening at 9:30. Eventually, I had to cancel my flight and was refunded my money. I spent another 2 hours trying to get my luggage off the plane and the both women, one ticket agent and another Spirit employee were attempting to help me, when i went back to the desk they were gone and didn't return. I had to contact the Tampa Airport so that they could find a Spirit Airline employee to get my luggage. I finally received my luggage at 3:30 am. I had to stay in the airport because my next flight through another carrier was leaving at 730 am. I will NEVER even think about booking another flight with Spirit!! Their customer service was horrible and inconsiderate of any of the patrons who were traveling on that flight. Unfortunately my trip was not for pleasure but due to a loss in the family and they didn't seem to have a care in the world about anyone's cancelled flight. Amongst the few hours that I sat there, every other person that was on the same flight continually complained that this is not their first time traveling with Spirit and there always seemed to be an issue, either flights departing late and being cancelled completely"
Pros: "I liked that I was boarded in group 1. I don't know how that was selected but I was happy to receive that option. The travelers on the flight were all very friendly. I'm not sure if it was because I was surrounded by Midwesterners or if those of us who fly on Spirit are a weird bunch. There was a collective sarcasm about Spirit and the quality of the airlines expressed by the passengers. No bashing, lightly comical."
Cons: "I did not like the lack of interest by the flight attendants. I understand that this is a budget airline, but a smile shouldn’t cost extra. It felt as if we were inconveniencing the crew with our presence on the plane. They did not seem to enjoy their job very much at all. The seats on the plane were very close together. There was very little room in any direction. I was glad to have an aisle seat. I felt that the baggage fees were excessive. The website claims that the airline is more cost effective because the travelers only pay for what they use. My expectation was to receive a low cost flight, pay for my bags as necessary and receive an overall savings to the other airlines. I was willing to give up some comfort for cost savings. At the end of it all however, THERE WERE NO COST SAVINGS. The “discounted” base fare, plus the bag fees ended up costing more than the other airlines. What I gave up in comfort did not justify the costs that I had to pay financially. I will not make that decision again. My overall experience with Spirit was dissatisfaction. In the future I will make other arrangements."

Cons: "The seats were extremely close to the passengers in the row in front of us and didn't recline. Had to wait 45 minutes at baggage claim for bags to appear. No one from Spirit told us what was happening. After 45 minutes there was a voice announcement that an oversized wheel chair had caused the delay. After another five minutes our luggage appeared. My brand new suit case arrived with structural damage and was filthy - like it had been dropped and dragged. Reported this to Spirit personnel and not one of them apologized for the inconvenience. We took it o a luggage repair shop and it is a complete loss. Very unhappy Spirit customer."

Cons: "Spirit cancelled our flight. Spent 4+ hours on the phone attempting to reschedule. After requesting to speak to a manager I was told I would get a call back within 3 to 24 hours. When I spoke to a manager, I was told that Spirit only had a flight available 2 days later, that I had waited too long to reschedule my flight (I called spirit immediately and waited in hold for hours), and that spirit would do nothing to offset the cost of having to spend two extra days waiting for the flight they offered me 48 hours later than scheduled. We cancelled our flight and spent extra money booking last minute flights on another airline. Will never fly spirit again and will advise anyone that's asks to do the same."
