Heathrow has good signage. There are lots of people going to the same terminal waiting for the train. Be patient and when you have connecting flights choose a 2-hour layover.

Take a pillow you can sleep on and rest.

Try to avoid Heathrow! Not the most convenient to get into London unless you have a driver. Also, Heathrow needs better signs on where to go to exit and better wifi for foreign travelers.

Bring some thing with you for seat padding. And check in and get seat assignments as soon as you are allowed to pick them

If you can't check in online do it by phone, don't do it at the airport because the system sucks!

The 747-8 had a galley where you could order food and drinks outside the normal schedule. Very convenient if you have an aisle seat.

Regardless of Munich as a final destination or connection, you need to go through passport control, which was not organanized well. I had a connecting flight 90 min after landing, and I barely made it. The line for Passport control had about 500 people in front of me. Be prepared for this when booking if you have a connecting flight.

Absolutely get in the earliest boarding position possible if you want to get your carryon luggage on board. If you are over 6’0’ invest in a a quality medical plan for chiropractic care or consider setting appointments with your health care professionals prior to the trip to ensure you can get help when returning.

Don’t pay extra for assigned seats, they will put you wherever they can, Eat less than 1/2 the food they bring. Drink more water. If you plan to use your noise canceling headphones, the still use the older 2 pron outlets, bring your old adapter!
