Cons: Flight got delayed in Xiamen, miss the connecting flight to chongqing.
Cons: Too many security points
Cons: Better movies , better vegan food
Pros: Crew was very nice and I was happy to get emergency exit row window seat to make the the long flight more comfortable.
Cons: The food could have definitely been better too many shrimp and fish options even in the morning for breakfast. I was happy there has been a pasta served for dinner otherwise I wouldn’t have eaten the entire flight! Shrimp for breakfast isn’t an option for American folk and the movie selection
Pros: I liked playing tetris and pacman with a controller that was like that of a console. My flight had a lot of empty seats, and I noticed they staggered the seating so that there was nobody in front of me or behind me. Flight crew was genuinely nice and helpful even though we didn't speak the same language. The little cup holder was actually pretty cool. There even seemed to be ample leg room compared to other Chinese international flights I've been on. I've flown previously with china southern and China eastern, so that is my basis for comparison.
Cons: They didn't give me boarding passes for both flights (had a long layover in china). Other airlines printed both at the start of trip. This added quite a bit of confusion for me, seemingly unnecessarily. Also, I'm a bit disappointed in their free hotel room deal for long layovers. When I had a long layover previously with either china southern or china easter (can't remember which one), I got my own free hotel room, a free meal, and a free ride to and from the hotel. That was a real perk for my 12 hour layover. The deal with xiaman is you get a free hotel room, but you have to share it with a stranger of the same gender, and you have to pay for taxi to and from the hotel. Although you do supposedly get a free meal, I chose not to take them up on the hotel offer. Instead I took them up on their transfers lounge. This is a dark, quiet room full of dingy, dirty padded chairs and people sprawled out and snoring. I would have stayed more than 15 minutes if there were more phone charging plugs, but instead I went and ate mcdonalds and found a plug in at the kfc. Aside from all that, I would suggest getting some better Hollywood movies to choose from, as xiamen's competition has them beat there as well, in my opinion.
Cons: The flight was supposed to leave at 8:30pm. We were delayed until 11, then 11:50. At 11:50 we were still not boarding and an argument started about compensation. We were finally boarded at 12:30am. But on the plane we were not given information and continued to sit there for an hour and a half while the plane was further delayed. We finally left around 2:30am, six hours after we were supposed to leave. I missed my ride at Beijing and my first night at the hotel.
Pros: Flight boarded quickly and was on time. Food of fair to average quality was served. Very nice to be offered blankets and a second round of beverages.
Pros: The crew was friendly and efficient. The check-in was smooth and they explained how to get to the gate location. The flight left on-time and arrived early.
Cons: The plane was very warm and the AC was either turned off or set to a high temperature. There was no cold drinks and no ice on the plane and drink service on the four hour flight was only immediately before and after dinner in a small cup. Bring something to drink with you. Entertainment was a Chinese movie on a small overhead screen with English subtitles that were too small to read. Unlike other flights on the same airline, we were not offered a choice of meals.
Pros: Flight over Himalayas was breath-taking!
Cons: Flew from Chengdu to Kathmandu, through Lhasa. Even though it was the same flight, we had to de-plane in Lhasa and go through security both coming off the plane and twice again before re-boarding the same plane, to the same seats. Probably a China / Tibet thing, but we received no explanation from Sichuan. After this uber-security play, we got back on the same plane and sat for almost 2 hours on the tarmac, even though we were the only plane in the airport! Sichuan served us lunch while still on the ground, but I would have preferred an explanation from the crew for the unreasonable delay.
Pros: services offered by the cabin crews . It's a team looks which has been well trained which can be tasted in all details of their service to passengers . Smiles ,considerateness ,caring passengers' needs ,focusing on thir job all these merits can be found every where in the cabin . And none of their crew memmer was taking care or chatting about their personal affairs .Unfortunately which is easily can be found in most of airlines in China including those huge Chinee airlines comparing with SiChuan .It's a team deserves our respect.
Pros: I thought the service, efficiency and kindness of the staff was top notch. They made the flight really enjoyable. Hainan does a lot to make sure you feel like you are getting a high quality experience even while flying economy.
Cons: I notice a few things around my seat that were kind of broken, which was surprising knowing that this was a new Dreamliner ... I thought certain things would not be as worn yet. Though I am sure it gets a tons of abuse! I also thought the food was sub-par and we always had a really hard time hearing any announcements because they were not clear, loud and English was challenging to decipher.
Cons: The seat super uncomfortable and narrow.
Pros: service minded because I am tall, so gave me a free exit seat without asking.
Cons: the check-in took 1 hour. Impossible to do online check-in from home. the food is not good and entertainment without subtitles for let's of movies....
Pros: Nice plane and crew.
Cons: Many delays, lack of communication. Nearly two hours waiting on the tarmac.
Pros: Seating was Comfortable.
Cons: Cancel the day of the flight. Had to leave the next day.
Cons: Airplane was loud not with crying babies but passengers yelling over one another. Food was mediocre, and plane had no entertainment consoles.
Pros: Getting off of the plane
Cons: This was a discount garbage carrier. I have ridden on cargo boats off the coast of Nicaragua that I would recommend before Xiamen. They don’t give you your connecting boarding pass when you leave the country. You have to go through China’s bullshit customs service three times just to get to your next flight. Chinese customs is like a bowl full of retarted fish smelling their own farts. Six people doing nothing while one blithering idiot Stubles through paperwork.
Pros: The plane was new, the plane was clean, and all the airline hostesses were not 65 years old. Oh and everyone complaining about the visa requirements for China. Bend over a take one for the team like a man just Go to a travel agent in any in China Town. $100 US will get you a bias good for 10 years and it only take a week. Otherwise fly Delta for $1200.
Cons: Limited selection of English language movies but hey it was a China airline so no bit surprise there.
Pros: Crew's Services
Cons: Snacks and water ran out during the last several hours of the flight. For shorter people, their feet would have difficulty touching the floor.
Pros: Crew was very engaging and service was good.
Cons: My seat was horrible. Right at the door, crammed, and no place to store my carry-on luggage.
Pros: Cabin facilities
Cons: They didn’t bring one of my bags
Pros: Being fed was amazing and watching free TV was great!
Cons: I wish there were personal fans because it got uncomfortably hot sandwiched between people
Pros: Crew was fantastic, seats and entertainment was great. Very good food choices.
Cons: Everything was very good.
Cons: They check for everything in the counter as if it was a low cost airline. If you go a kilo more over your baggage allowance you have to pay 100 eur. And for your cabin luggage you only have 12 kg that they check you twice and they have security staff at the airport specifically check in this.
We’re not the seller.
At KAYAK we don’t set the prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.
We compile tonnes of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we can't guarantee prices we find.
Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car rentals can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find, on occasion, that certain prices are no longer available.
If you have more questions or if you have a bad price to report to us,
please send us an email and someone from our team will get back to you promptly.
