Boarding was easy. clean plane, crew was very friendly. I was very concerned though, when we banked left and did a complete circle in the air. An explanation from the captain would have been terrific. I made sure I was the last one to leave the plane and asked him about it when I saw him at the exit. He told me what happened but I would have liked to know while it was happening. Besides that, the coke and pretzels were divine. :)
I love Alaska. Yup, love. I fly with them often. Their customer service is amazing and they are particularly great at anticipating problems and getting ahead of them. As always, this was a smooth trip.
This flight is late most of the time. If you book this flight expect to be an hour late into Oakland. There are not enough nonstop flight options between Albuquerque and Oakland on Southwest Airlines
I paid Volaris extra to use the CBX bridge. They ate that money because our boarding passes did not have the information and we had to pay again. On the way home the Volaris agent insisted we had to pay the Mexican immigration tax as foriengers. However, Mexican law only requires it after a week and we were there for only four days. Then another Volaris agent said my aunt couldn't fly within Mexico with her Mexican ID. He insisted she needed a passport. This airline is either completely incompetent or robbing people. They don't even offer you water on a three hour flight.
The gate agent helped half a dozen people (not including those described below) understand they were boarding with the wrong group.
Fully one-quarter of the passengers boarded as disability or premium. This included a party of eight that boarded with one person in a wheelchair because "We're all together."
flight was delayed due to a late flight attendant and then delayed again because they flight attendant didn't know about her destinations and thrn delayed again so she could prepare for her upcoming trips. This was all announced on the PA system. In total, the flight was delayed about an hour and 20 minutes.
Row 19 on a 737ER is great for room, as long as you don't plan on reclining (I rarely do in a daytime flight)
A little overcautious regarding seating the cabin crew because of possible turbulence, but better safe than sorry, I suppose. However, it is a common occurrence on this particular leg, so don't board knowing you might need to take a "break" before you get to Atlanta.
Well after going through a terrible storm to get to the airport we were given a opportunity to up grade to First Class for a very reasonable rate. That was great.
The flight attendant lady from 1st class/Business held my suit jacket for me to grab on the way out. Simple thing, but very thoughtful and kind. Love it.
The negatives are puny compared to what made me happy in this trip. Thanks AA! Please thank that nice lady for me!
