If I get a seat in the back I’m waiting for everyone else to get on and then for them to get off the plane. I guess I’ll have to pay the $75 fee for “first class” next time since that’s the only way to update my seat. And if I have a “saver rate” ticket - I should be able to still change my flight within 24 hours. I wanted to come back a day earlier and it was the same price! But I would’ve had to cancel and repurchase for an additional $200!!!"

Cons: "The flight was 4 hours late. I wasted an entire day sitting in the airport. You knew that the flight was late hours in advance and should have texted or emailed me to say as much. Instead, i checked in on time, and within 10 minutes we went from 'On Time' to four hours late due to equipment and crew. Very inconsiderate and unappreciated to your customer. The flight should have been free after such an inconsiderate gesture on your part. Instead, you send me a gift certificate that obligates me to spend more money with you in order to redeem it, and then within a certain period of time. If I have choice in the future, I'll lean toward a different airline than yours. You clearly do not value my time nor my business."

Cons: "They weight the value of 1st leg much higher than the return AND they want to charge you $125 change fee. My grandma passed away and I needed to reschedule my itinerary. Alaska stuck to their policies (you know, those pages of microscopic text that is written by lawyers for sole reason of screwing the customer.) I just felt really abused; told them to keep the useless "credit". I booked with Delta. At what point does a company forget who they are supposed to be serving? Perhaps the people that are actually giving you money and keeping you in business?"

Cons: "We purchased 2 one way tickets and were given confirmation of purchase. When we arrived at airport to check in we were told we were on standby only. If we could not get on the flight then the soonest we could fly out was 48+ hrs away, arriving in Seattle at 2 AM on Monday morning. we had no one available to pick us up, we live 1 hr away from airport. After many announcements and many incentives offered 2 young ladies did give up their seats and we could get on. The flight went well but we were extremely upset with the promise of confirmation and the obvious overbooking. It probably is what many airlines do but not good customer service was given to us. We often fly Alaska but this was a bad experience."

Either wearing a jersey or showing a picture with seahawk pride. Very friendly and fun! The views were very beautiful also! Love Alaska airlines and LOVE the seahawks!!"
Cons: "There was a 20 minute flight delay before we boarded. They announced there were mechanical difficulties, which took further time. After we left the gate, we were told that our pilots had timed out and we would need to return to the gate to get a new crew. We taxied for a long time back to the gate, then there were further delays while they added the gas they had used in taxiing. In the end, we arrived more than 2 hours late. It is hard to understand why they didn't anticipate this and replace our pilots before we left the gate. This was the return part of a round trip ticket; there was also a more than 2 hour delay on our earlier flight due to mechanical difficulties."
Cons: "They kept canceling flights even though other flights were going out of Seattle and landing in Bozeman. But the gate agents were promising that the next flight wasn't gong to be cancelled and that I was going to have a seat, so I didn't book another flight from Seattle to Bozeman on a different carrier. So I spend 3 full days waiting at the boarding gate with the gate agent saying boarding would begin in 30 minutes the whole time. Finally they just sent me back home to Oakland. I missed my last chance to see my grandfather alive. He just passed away. To add insult to injury, they they wouldn't refund the ticket because I "used" the ticket for a lovely vacation to the Seattle airport for 3 days."
Pros: "The flight home from Ontario CA was better than the flight there. The seating was pretty cramped . We got pretzels which was great. Service at this airport was extremely kind and cheerful. It made traveling with a disabled mother much less stressful. Thank you!!"
Cons: "Paying to check our bags when others got theirs checked for free by taking them to the gate wasn't fair. Having my disabled mother have to walk from the ticket counter to some wheelchair waiting area rather than bringing the chair to her started it trip off with stress we didn't need. I even asked if they could bring it to her and they said just go over to the station and wait."

We get to the gate and wait-wait-wait until almost 5am and finally the employees were able to find someone willing to move so that myself and kids don’t get seats in emergency exit row. Nuts. Very unpleasant(not the employees, those were nice-it’s the check in and seat assignment policies)."

Pros: "Jet Blue was GREAT- as usual. I want you to know that getting through security in ATL airport was an ordeal. Incredibly long lines, disorganized (a sign clearly said, TSA Pre-check- line up here) and then the people managing the lines yelling at us (and this is an observation) because they wanted us lined up further back. This was baffling because the actual line into the TSA space was empty at that point. I think the ATL security staff could all benefit from some further training about to work with people effectively AND ATL airport needs to look at their systems. I know it's a busy airport, but there has to be something better than what they are doing now!"

Pros: "Half the passengers were sleeping in rows to themselves. I’m 6’5” with a bad back and was stuck in an aisle seat, unable to even rest much less sleep. I get that those seats were available for purchase, but after the doors close it seems ridiculous to not let a customer sit there, ESPECIALLY is taller folks!!!! One could make the argument that it’s less safe as well, seeing how there’s no one IN the exit row to help open the window in the event of an emergency. I like Jetblue but this policy is likely to keep me from flying them if I can fly for just a bit more $ and have comfort."

Cons: "When I scanned my boarding pass the Jetblue staff member told me my carry on was too big and had to be checked. This was puzzling to me because I travel often and do not have a problem with that bag. As I was sitting on the plane I saw everyone's bag's were bigger especially the man next to me. His was significantly larger and he had a large duffle bag between his legs causing him to manspread into my area. and yet i was told "make sure your purse is under the seat" seriously?! What about his giant duffle bag and huge carry on roller?!"

Cons: "Upon boarding an odor of vomit was obvious. An attendant announced that a previous passenger had been sick in the row and there was no time to adequately clean it. There was only one food option available for purchase. Neither the overhead reading light or entertainment system at my seat worked. The first attendant I approached told me she could find me a seat in the back of the plane. I declined as I reserved a seat in the front of the plane in order to deplane and go through customs swiftly. I was then offered a seat directly behind the row where the passenger had vomited. Eventually, a different attendant placed me in a seat nearer the front of the place where both the light and entertainment system worked."
Cons: "Our flight was delayed making it so I and several others had less than 4 minutes to catch our next flight. The flight attendants wouldn’t help us at all. Instead of having us come to the front of the plane to exit first we had to ask the rest of the passengers if they didn’t mind letting us through to catch our flight. I have severe psoriatic arthritis and I had to sprint to my next gate that had been changed making it much farther away from our arrival gate. Now I get to spend my vacation in pain trying to recover."

Cons: "What I didn’t like was how my flight got cancelled and the only flight I was able to get was 4 days later. So I was stuck in the Dominican Republic for a total of two weeks!! I had to miss another weekend at work which made me lose a lot of money since I’m a barber and lost some one my clientele. On top of my flight being cancelled it also got delayed again but only by 30 minutes so I wasn’t so upset. When it came to the boarding, that had to be the slowest boarding I’ve went through. The gate seemed very behind on the technology and that caused the workers to work even slower. At times they had to step away and go on their monitor to fix something out so it took an extra 30 minutes before I even got into my seat, and I was sitting in row 6 of the plane. Then after everyone was seated the flight got held back an extra half hour because a lady wanted to file a complaint saying that she got pushed and ended up being the only person that got kicked off the flight so she did it all for nothing. So with everything happening, our flight got delayed an hour and a half. Very disappointed.."

Cons: "There were only two flights, one to my and one to Boston. My bag went to the wrong place and the way they handled it was disgusting. Making us run around the airport with no answers and nobody wanting to check the conveyer belt. Then they said if they found it they would let me know. They found the bag and they said by 6:30. Well, 6:30 passed and they had my bag but they couldn't tell me when it would be delivered and they use a third party company who they didn't have a contact number for or any answer as to when it would be delivered (I needed several things for work so it was a rush). Lastly, the lady I spoke to on the phone said it was my fault that I would not be there to receive the bag the following day as they did what they are supposed to. I was really surprised with how bad this customer service was as a whole. No communication and just nasty."

Cons: "Our seat assignment. We were assigned to last two seat on isle and it was too uncomfortable. our seat leaned back very little so it was too hard to relax on a 12 hours long flight. We were exhausted. Also plane was very dirty."

Pros: "The crew seemed capable and came around a couple times with water. We arrived safe and sound as one would hope for, if an hour or so later than scheduled. Seats seemed roomier than most standard economy/coach (probably due to it being an older model). Though I didn’t partake they seemed to offer more complimentary snack options than other airlines."
Cons: "The airplane cabin had a strong urine odor that endured throughout the red-eye flight, the air temperature had to have been at least 75 degrees, probably 80 which was a bit stifling. No usb/power at the seat which would be preferable/should be standard by now for a coast-to-coast flight. Seat didn’t recline which isn’t the end of the world but a bit of a bummer. My headphones didn’t work with the little screen at my seat but it’s ok because based on my neighbor’s screen it was just a rotating lineup of Jet Blue commercials/fake tv shows that I can easily pass on."

Cons: "Americans today travel with hand luggage and duffels which should be in the hold as ticketed baggage. This practise delays boarding, delays disembarkation, makes the aircraft top heavy in takeoff and landing and creates 'pop open and drop' type accidents. Nothing larger than a purse should be allowed as hand carry."

Cons: "The flight was delayed by 1hour and 40 min. One hour at the boarding gate and 40min on the airstrip. Pilot said we were overweight. When we landed at 730 vs 557 we still had a delay because our gate was occupied causing a greater dalay. Due ro this delay I was late to work. The flight attendee making the announcements might have been new because she kept messing up what she was saying and shouting and mumbling through the speaker. I usually have amazing flights with jetblue but I'm highly disappointed with this flight."

Cons: "When I received my luggage it was so damaged that someone used clear tape to keep it closed. There was no note inside the luggage to state if it was tsa who went through the bag so I went to customer service to inquire about it. The representative from New York airport stated that I over packed my bag that's why it was damaged. I can assure you that my bag was under weight and there was no problem when i last closed it. So to be clear both zippers on my luggage was completely destroyed and taped up like a ragged cloth. I was embarrassed to walk around with my bag and the only recompensation I received was a $40 credit to my next flight."

Cons: "It was freezing. We boarded 1 1/2 hours late. The stewards were a bit short and not very patient. I saw people being allowed to board with way more bags than you said were permitted and some of the on plane bags were so huge that the front people had to check their bags at the last minute. Boarding was slow as it was clear that the stuff was not fitting in the overhead compartments. What happened to dimensions of bag restrictions? It is frustrating to the people that abide by the rules to see them so flagrantly ignored."

Cons: "But everything else about the flight was not great. The crew was slow (though they were polite and friendly). Movie and TV show selections were not bad, but the sound quality was so terrible that it was impossible to hear the movie."

Then in HNL we had to wait over 30 minutes before baggage came out."

Cons: "Most movies were “paid” selections so I didn’t even bother, seats were very narrow even for a shinny person like myself. It seems that they installed more row of seats than much needed restrooms. They only had two in the back, only two in the middle of the economy section, I don’t know about the coach class and the first class cabin but as far as the economy class that was it, and that’s terrible. That is less than a half restrooms normally available on other carrier I’ve known. They should learn from ANA or Canada Air. The cabin temperature seems to be rather cold throughout the flight, yet there was no pillow (only paid one) nor blanket available."

I got off at 9:25am and had to run out of the airport and down to another terminal, go through security again and run to gate 51 from gate 10. It is near impossible for someone who can’t sprint. I was the last one to board. Lost my window seat and luggage didn’t make it. In Honolulu I found out luggage hasn’t made it for at least three other couples flying out of BWI with these connections. This combo should not be offered when people select flights."
Pros: "The staff were above and beyond. Organized, on-time boarding. The pilots were great. The seats were nice. The tropical beverage offered was lovely. We had a toddler on board a few rows up who either screeched or cried the whole time, as in 5 of the almost 6 hour flight. A REMINDER TO BRING YOUR EARPLUGS. The parents did their best, and at one point I was in the aisle with mom and baby during some turbulence and the child got sick. I let the attendant who was serving drinks know about the situation and he didn't miss a beat and helped mom and baby recover, and got the area cleaned up. It might not sound like much but it was the above and beyond that most people don't realize flight attendants take care of routinely. I appreciated that."
Cons: "The sugary breakfast. I was so surprised that literally nothing in the breakfast did not contain lots of sugar. The bread was inedibly sweet, the nonfat yogurt was overly sweet and had a weird chemical taste. Please at least low fat. Grapes, one of the highest sugar fruits, were the only thing I was able to eat. Please consider offering low/no sugar breakfast options, and wheat free options. I would have loved a hard boiled egg and some cheese and fruit. Couldn't really figure out the entertainment screen. Couldn't get the movies to load. I wasn't that interested in the screen but others might be. Tip: the jack is in the armrest."

So she assigned me to a seat that had a wall in front of it and no storage space in the seat in front of me. I was livid. Thankfully I didn’t have to check the instrument but the hassle was a nightmare I really wanted to avoid."

I was once given an $850 travel voucher for voluntarily giving up my seat, and was flown first class to Hawaii, given 4 star accomodation and then flown first class on to China within 48 hours. This was an involuntary bump from our chosen flight time, all because of a lack of knowledge about current visa regulations and international law on the part of the check in staff. We have been loyal Delta users for over 15 years, and this was the biggest blunder ever. Also humiliating and extremely frustrating, stressful and a big problem with fulfilling our travel plans between son and father."
Pros: "The seats were the widest with the most cushion and padding I've ever had on any flight, I think all their seats were like that. The plane we were on had more leg room than your average flight. Also the backs of the chair were very tall, leaving even mpre head room perfect for tall people . I fly a lot and sometimes my knees hit the seat in front of me or when they recline it shoves the tray to close to you. Not on this flight there was enough room for me to lay back in the seat had the adjustable headrest that went up and down and also curved in to hold your head from falling on your neighbor next to you. Love the fact they had the USB plug-in in front of you. And the crew constantly kept coming through to empty trash and offer beverages. The plane was clean bathrooms in front and back of the airplane. Over all quiet engine and we were above the wings. Temperature good."
Cons: "The crew member that was checking in people at the gate would talk so fast we could barely understand what he was saying on the overhead announcement. I was traveling with someone who was hearing impaired so we were unaware of that they were getting ready to board. The electronic TV monitor wasn't updating to say boarding to notify people that would be helpful for the hearing impaired. Or--if a crew member is muffled on the announcement or talks too fast you can't understand or know what's going on. The most frustrating thing for me and my daughter we were both expecting to use Delta online entertainment. There are no monitor screens in the seats in front of us on this plane. So we were able to use our phones, but it would not download and once It finally downloaded we couldn't upload any of the movies. Connection speed way too slow. The warning said there were too many people on it at that time. Also I like it when they offer free headphones for people that don't have them. An example that would benefit people that don't want to listen to loud people on the plane or babies that are crying."

Also, there was no vegetarian option in economy. Fortunatly, the staff brought a left over dinner from business class but I find it hard to believe that flight to the US would not have a vegetarian option."

Cons: "I upgraded to 1st class for both flights but the plane seating was very dismal and hadn't been upgraded in either of these planes for a long time. After we boarded the plane we were told that no drink, snacks or food would be offered. The attendant shut off the lights as soon as we got in the air and kept it dark in the cabin until 10 minutes before we landed. She never came around to check on us once or ask if we needed anything. I was so thirsty when we landed. I have decided that I will either go back to United Airlines or check out the 1st class options at American Airlines better next time. This might not have been their fault, I'm not sure what it was, but the flight was late landing and we took off an hour late as well which really put me behind schedule."

Every seat in both of my flights was completely filled, meaning that we were squished up next to everyone despite any efforts to stay 6ft away from each other in the airports. Many passengers were wearing their masks incorrectly (not covering their nose, TAKING OFF THE MASK TO SNEEZE) and were not being asked to wear their mask properly by staff. I felt completely unsafe and won't be flying American again until there is a vaccine for covid."

Then after another delay they realised that off loading people meant off loading their baggagge, total delay nearly 2 hours The hedset socket on the entertainment system did not work The USB port did not work THey ran out of food after serving three rows, loaded four sandwiches, no wraps and 2 cheese plates for a full evening flight that was over 5 hours in duration including the delays."

Entertainment screen between center seat and window seat so I just didn't even try to look at it and mostly just leaned forward to have a little space. Also another inch or 2 was taken by person in front of me putting their seat back. With such restrictive space why is this even possible??? Flying has become ridiculous and I try not to as much as I can."

The airline finally posted that it would depart a 4 PM and we didn't even start boarding until 5PM. Then they tried to rush us on so that everyone was standing on the HOT jetway for 10 min waiting to get on the plane. Plane didn't take off til 5:35 PM. Over all on this trip I had three flights that were delayed. I'll think twice before taking American Air again."

I finally tore a page out of the AA magazine and wedged it against the screen so I could actually sleep without it constantly blinking on and disturbing me. Next time, I'm going to smash the screen. If I want it off, leave it off."

It's all in the attitude.... hopefully my attitude is not as bad :-) But maybe the gate agent was so tired for it was the last flight from ONT, at 1 AM. Bless her heart! Cons: "I was on a flight to Dallas on an American Airline flight which arrived late due to weather conditions, and the connecting flight didn't even wait for me although they know why I couldn't make it on time. And I was only late for about 5 minutes."
Cons: "AA gate crew checked my bag at the gate, but to the wrong person!! I missed my flight because I had to go find it in baggage claim, take a taxi to another terminal, hoof it across the terminal to TSA pre-check which was 45 people deep and slow as a snail, then run to the gate (which was at the ooooother end I originally entered through). I missed my flight literally by 3 minutes. There was no one at the gate to help me, AA staff kept telling me to go to different places, getting a new flight was INSANE. The whole experience was a pure nightmare."
Pros: "Very friendly, constantly hard working crew. They didn't stop moving through the cabin for the whole flight. Swift boarding."
Cons: "Extremely poor food. Airline food is rarely enjoyable but I had two mouthfuls of my pasta and left the rest even though I was hungry. Dreadful "entertainment " system. 4 tiny screens over the centre row is seats showed the in flight movies. This on a transatlantic flight. What decade are American Airlines in?! The fleet look like they date back to the '90's at best!!"
Pros: "More options for food like rice chicken or rice beef"
Cons: "Pls have decent meal plans and the seats were very uncomfortable American Airlines need improvement in all areas"

Pros: "Started when 7 am flight from Knoxville was delayed - multiple times until finally at 4 PM there were no options. Nobody with AA saying a single word all this time even when asked. Finally called their customer service line only to learn that I could get on another flight that left in a few minutes. Door was still open but gate agent argued with the lady on 800 line about who could ticket faster. By time they finished arguing the door closed. That began a 14 hour nightmare of bumping between flights and delays and the inevitable lost luggage. Paid for $300 hotel room at Vancouver that I will get to stay in for 4 hours. Will NEVER fly American again"

Cons: "Several consecutive issues delayed our start, then had a weather hold before we could descend. VERY crowded, got stuck with a window seat with a very large man next to me--better than B or D, at least."
Cons: "Then take different fly from Florida to NC then waiting another fly at 5:45 pm to Dallas at 8:45pm. My fly should be 1:30 to Dallas 4:30pm non stop, that day we have appointments 8Pm. End up we back to Dallas 9Pm is bad. If we waiting for fly from 8Pm delay we may be home or be home at midnight time that is very bad."

Cons: "Cancelled flight and inconvenience was miserable. Unacceptable service from American Airlines, and consistent with others have experienced as well. Will not travel with AA again."
Pros: "In an attempt to cover their failing fleet that caused a cancellation, they did provide taxi fare to another airport and food."
Cons: "After a cancelled flight sent me to a much larger airport, they did not have the staff to man the flight for 3 hours. I will not make this mistake of flying AA again."
Pros: "We made it one piece and the pilot clearly made an effort to avoid turbulence by changing altitude constantly in search of smooth air."
Cons: "Crew brought food whether you wanted it or not. They loaded up my husband's tray table with food for 3, even though they were all asleep. I was sitting across the way, so, perhaps they didn't hear me say no thanks. The entertainment system was awful. You had to go through all the steps again and again every time you tried to simply check flight information. Annoying. When we arrived DFW customs, one of our bags was missing. Still in London. No surprise. LHR is awful. We would not see that bag again for nearly 4 days. They gave me some thing about a belt problem between T5 and T3 in LHR. We went from T3 to T3. No excuse. Probably fell off somewhere. Chocolates were a bit melted and chip bags burst. Whenever it was, it sat in heat."
Cons: "I do not understand when a global carrier knows the plane will not arrive the next day that they do not find a suitable replacement. The plane interior was outdated!"
Cons: "The plane took off much later than it was supposed to, so we were already behind. Once we got onto the runway, the plane turned around and went back for three people who had missed the flight. I suppose if I had barely missed the flight, I would want the plane to turn around. However, those three people held up a plane that was completely full and had standby passengers. Through the entire flight, there was an issue with the seating and there was a man standing up at the front because he had nowhere to sit. It was one of the most bizarre flights I've ever taken... and I fly about 15-20 times a year."
