No parking! You can pay 30 euros for leaving the car at the front door area but only place for about 10 cars! The room was ok but a little bit dirty! The breakfast buffet to expensive for what it offer! I purchased a king size bed but they give me single beds because they had no more rooms availabel! Very disapointing. I will not recomend this hotel even to my enemies!
I loved my room, its was amazing. I could live in a room that size for my entire life. It had a kitchen, wonderful lighting, skylights (top floor) room, I was able to rent a bike and When I first arrived my initial contact with a hotel was with less than welcoming. I didnt feel welcome at all and she seemed more interested in getting me off her back so she could smoke a cigarette than actually helping me. After getting food and walking around a bit I came back and was helped by another lady who was so sweet and gracious. I'm still giving this hotel an excellent review because I dont want to spoil it over one bad encounter.. The rest of the staff I encountered throughout my stay was excellent.
Room was very clean and spacious. The heaters are a bit old and noisy.
Not match bathroom privacy
it was easy to reach the city it was very cold in the room and what was promised never came...
The design of the building and room interiors was new and refreshing to see. The staff made us feel at home straight away and if we had any questions they were more than happy to help. The only negative was that the room when we first entered was incredibly hot, and nobody told us there was an air-con unit in the room so we couldnt get comfy for a long time (until we found how to use the air-con a couple of hours later!)
The Arena is a great hotel, we spent most of our time in our room, though the lobby and grounds are impressive. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom very nice, the sitting area perfect. We had floor to ceiling windows which overlooked a courtyard and that really made the room. A few nice amenities included an electric tea kettle to make coffee and tea with, a safe, a fridge and blowdryer. When we needed a converter, the front desk had one for us. The front desk also called cabs for us which came quicklly. Nice quiet neighborhood with easy access. I didn't realize the room was two floors with the bedroom upstairs and the bathroom downstairs, not ideal for middle of the night trips to the restroom. There was no handrail on the steep and winding staircase. While housekeeping came everyday, they did not sweep the wood floors which I would have expected. One wall of the bathroom is the wall of the sitting area and is all black glass, which at first seems opaque, but really isn't. When it was just me and my husband in the room, no problem, but when we had visitors, it was a bit awkward.
The rooms were very hip and the beds were so comfortable. Really liked the slick bathrooms and the overall hotel decor
Position of the hotel. Very poor quality of my room. A dirty, smelling and small room.
The staff was great. The room was comfortable. The restaurant was excellent; good food, nice atmosphere.
Style and design of the common spaces It was impossible to get a hair-dryer in 3 days. The standard of the room was low for the category of the hotel (even if in Amsterdam this is quite common).
I love the fact that the staffs are super friendly. Very nice hotel and nice high ceilings. We got a free upgrade too. I love it so much I def want to come back! I love everything about it. Nothing to complain about. the bathroom is so nice and beds too. Only downside is that they are currently doing constructions and wish we would have been informed. It gets very loud during the day but aside from that it's all good!
Pleasure trip Reception staff were abrupt and unnecessarily rude!
Only slept here a couple of hours, didn't had much time to enjoy the facilities, but the bar and the club looked and sounded really cool. Next time I am s\ure to enjoy those facilities to the maximum. Cool to have a stair in the room to the upper bedroom. The shower wasn't closed of from the rest of the bathroom. So I had a centimeter of water under my toilet after showering. The Airconditionig was positioned directly towards the bed, makes a noise and you have a constant cold breeze which is nice for a while, but anoying if you want to go to sleep.
The room was like a cell, so small. The bath was small too, can't really move in it. The bed was not comfortable, the mattresses to soft and the carpet looks old & was dirty.
Very comfortable bed. Room was quiet, cosy and the heating worked well. Hotel is right near a tram stop and only a short walk into the centre of Amsterdam. Staff were efficient and friendly. Bathroom was tiny. More like a shower room than a bathroom. Would expect more space for the price.
Central location but quiet Staff could have been a little more helpful
Room cleanliness Location
central location to dam square or leidsiplein.
our hotel room was gorgeous, and we had a view across the little park which was lovely, nothing, all good :-)
Breakfast had a variety of food. Only one staff at reception counter each time - there was a line of guests queueing up to check in. Bathroom was horribly small
it was easy access to the main parts of town and a tram stopped right outside the hotel (you can pay for the tram on the tram ) the bathroom was a tad small and they need a better shower curtain as the floor got soaked...
I didn't like the following: 1) Despite of my wish to have a nice view room, I was given a room at -1 floor without any view at all, as the room was below the ground level. 2) The carpet was very dirty, it seems like it has never been cleaned at all. 3) The walls are very thin, so you can easily hear everything that is happening in the neighbour rooms. 4) too high charge for such room, no value for money.
Lovely place to stay, clean, comfortable, in a green area, near parks, in front of tram stop (3 stops, you are in rembrandt square!!!). Professional staff, free internet access in hall, you can buy there tram tickets or rent a bike. There's a coffé to walk just near it, so you can have a very good breakfast. Lovely, believe me! What's bad in this hotel? Nothing! Ok, toilet is a little bit small, but, who cares? Am I supposed to live in the room? No!
Hotel stuff very, very good. Location of hotel very good, near park, trasportation to city center excellent. Rooms very small, rooms were dusty, wifi in the lobby lasts only half hour than you must go to reception and ask for password and log again. Loss of time.
the space of the room and quite close to city center. the zoo is next to it and a few museums such as boat stops it was very dificult to get something from the bar. the barman was always out for something else.
We were living on the 8-th floor, so the view was realy amasing, especially at night :)
comfort, location near conference, breakfast, service, staff
Almost everything. Breakfast was too expensive!
The members of staff were very professional and receptive. Keep it up
staff were very friendly and the rooms modern and very clean. very good location to. no
Amsterdam center can be reached in 12 minutes by tram.
Room was warm, clean, comfortable. Hotel decor was modern and clean Certain Reception staff were less than helpful and totally inexperienced to deal with a possible emergency.
location staff no instructions for tv
Very clean, hotel staff was very helpful and friendly, good value for the price, great location. Breakfast buffet was good. Bathroom was pretty small, elevator was suspect and the stairs were only for emergency use, no AC or fan, bed was only ok. Breakfast buffet was little over priced at 15 euros.
room parking is not for free
Very helpful staff, peacefull neighbourhood, clean room every day Very small bathroom
Close to the tram-station It was very basic.
leaving 1* youth hostel - not for the over 40's. Students running around at 5.50AM. No night staff controlling noise.
Hotel located in quiet street. Staff was really friendly. Room was a little bit small.
Breakfast was very nice... the room was small but cozy... we only had to sleep there. The area was beautiful - a little hard to find at first - take a good map! Watch out for all the bilkes :-)! We were so tired when we got there and our room was on the third floor - kinda scary steep steps. The lady at the desk was a little gruff - but we had no problems.
People were very helpful except at breakfast Bathroom was tiny tiny tiny.
Wasn't immediately hassled for money (however, had to pay by cash as credit card machine was out of order). Could come and go with ease. Found the staff OK - unlike led to expect from reviews; found another website with more accurate reviews and so didn't have high expectations of hotel. Marvelled with amusement at how such a small room could look so big in the photos! Was more central than expected so easy walking. Nearby restaurants. Noise. The window didn't shut properly and so it was noisy - especially one morning with tree shredding happening outside at 7.30am. Suggest taking earplugs. Mould on walls - though expected that though from reviews. Very small room. Stairs very narrow and steep. Partner complained of back ache from sagging mattress. Price was OK-ish though
not being in the hotel everything, the rooms we were given were awful, staff were rude and not very helpful, it was disgusting.
breakfast. There was not enough choice of food.
There's nothing to do in the hotel.
