It is a hotel worth staying. The building is very beautiful, the rooms and view very nice. Also the bar at the ground floor is very exquisite. The only drawback is that one has to walk about 10 minutes to the nearest tram stop.
Excellent service. Deluxe rooms would be more 4 star rather than 5. The hotel is a quite a distance from the centre of Amsterdam but there is a tram service that is good.
Great staff, 10th floor had great view, good breakfast. Location to public transportation not as good as some of the other hotels. Was traveling with girl friends and did not feel comfortable walking to public transport at night. However weather was a factor at this time of year - might have been ok in summer.
Did not feel it was a 5 star hotel. It was booked for an anniversary surprise and we have stayed in nicer 4 star hotels
- Very comfortable bed and pillows - Nice view - Expected a nicer building and more luxurious room - Inadequate for a 5 star hotel (stayed in better 4 star hotels) - Far from city center, few hundreds meters walk to the tram stop - Overpriced, especially minibar and breakfast
Fast easy check in, nice size room, good breakfast and central location to museums.
Very clean and comfortable room with all amenities. Courteous, professional, friendly and helpful staff. Good location for museums and public transportation to everwhere.
The wifi fee of EUR 27 is out of market and not acceptable for a business traveller.
The Staff were great The Charge for "Internet " access !!
The view from the hotel was superb & the bed was extremely comfortable.
A truly spectacular property, beautifully fitted, with attentive, friendly but not overly intrusive staff. Amsterdam is a great place to visit; this hotel is almost reason enough on its own. I stayed there twice on the same trip. The first time we upgraded to a suite, and it was beautiful, really a place to relax in and feet at home. The second stay I was alone and had a regular room. It was tiny, but entirely functional. Both rooms were street facing with large windows. The bar is lovely, as well. Be sure to try one (or two or three) of their great gin and tonics. It is rather pricey, but you do get what you pay for.
its location, nice and attentive staff, cleanliness, and price. the front doors open to all, (should have customers use cards to gain entry), killed two small roaches coming down from the ceiling in the restroom, no batteries in remote control for the t.v., and the tea machine was not working.
The first three nights I stayed the internet did not function in my room, only in the lobby. I inquired many times but to no avail. I decided to give the hotel one more chance as i had to extend my stay and I was given a wonderful room with a great view, and working internet! Not sure it was an upgrade price wise, but it was indeed comfortable and made me very happy to know my best interest as a customer was being regarded. The bathrooms in both rooms I had were really great, and the staff is very friendly. Lastly next door is a big gym with a pool, for 20 euro a day you can do your workout there. It was supposed to be a deal, but actually the price is 20 euro regardless of whether or not u are a guest in the hotel. I think this hotel just has a few growing pains, it is new. The location is about 10 minutes by tram from leidseplein, so not really walking distance when it is cold. I was annoyed at first the internet problem in my room was not rectified quickly enough, however such is life, and Amsterdam is a great city with many hotels so it is luck of the draw I suppose.
It is a modern hotel, comfortable, close to the centre and not too close so one does not get a night's sleep. Perfect. I would certainly stay there again! Nothing.
This hotel was fantastic. Rooms were exactly like the pictures. It was very clean and the room was a really good size. Free wifi was an added bonus. Food a little bit expensive - breakfast not a very good deal. It's a little bit further from the centre of Amsterdam however please don't let that put you off as the No. 1 tram stops right outside and takes 10 minutes to the Dam and other destinations
the room was very pretty and clean, very fancy design, but functional all over. loved the little eco messages from the towels and the soap bottle the price was a bit high, but the part taht I did not like at all was that the city tax was not included in the price listed - it wasn't much, but still
It was in front of the tram line 1, which takes you to the centre in 5-10 minutes. The room was clean. Parking seems for the service and cleaning staff and it has no direct access to tower B (you will see why this is important) but to the reception through a strange door which does not even say this. If your room is in tower B you have to pick up 2 elevators and walk through strange doors which are uncomfortable and useless. Forgetting something at the room or just getting to it more than once in a day it is uncomfortable and painful. Only the distance to the centre is nice, but many unfinished renovation work (e.g. Parking, visible tubes, etc), getting to tower B, small rooms and unfair quality-price forces me to not recommend you this hotel.
the comfortable bed. and the veranda small bedroom, no fridge, expensive
nice atmosphere, stylish rooms friendly staff relatively expensive added cost for parking
it was in a very lovely leafy suburb, away from the hectic city centre but close enough to walk the room was very hot and there was nowhere to put luggage or toiletries
We had a plesant stay
Location at the residential area makes the hotel more like home. Size is also reasonable, not very crowded, not very silent, and this results in comfort. Closeness to the museum region.. N/A
This hotel was a great location for enjoying Amsterdam as one could walk to the centre of Amsterdam from the motel, but also allowed one to escape from the business at the end of the day.
Location The bedspray was shabby and the bath was chipped. Hotel need refurbisment then it will be excellent!
Nice breakfast. A bit pricey for being so far from the centre.
The location When checking in staff was unfriendly. Rooms were small, beds small and bad, disgusting bathroom. Extremely noisy. Much better to stay at nearby Park Hotel or Garden hotel were I stayed on my other trips to Amsterdam. Memphis is definately not a 4 star hotel
The hotel and staff were great, they were very accomodating and the price/quality, ie value for money is great. This is not a high end luxury hotel, but a very good, well priced hotel. And the best... free wifi, they understand that's important!! Rooms were a little warm for my taste, but I opened the window.
This is the second time that I have stayed at this hotel. It is good, reasonably central, and very suitable for business trips. A good point is that it provides supper, if needed, as well as breakfast. There was nothing I did not like
I liked the free WIFI the best USP of the hotel. The location was very near good restaurants and tourist spots the size of the rooms was too cramped. the double room was actually fit for only one person. the rooms in the 5th floor are really bad and felt like living in the attic. Thankfully I was given a better room on the 3rd floor. Besides, they overcharged for the breakfast. I can have the same breakfast outside for much lesser than 12.5 euros they charged me daily.
I enjoyed my stay in Plaza VondelPark and the staff were very kindly. is not so close from the touristic areas. In another hand, it has a tram (line 2) stop just about 200 mts distant.
Lovely quiet location, friendly staff and good breakfast
I liked the minimalistic, tasty appearance of the hotel lobby and the my room. The bathroom, and especially shower, was very comfortable. I did nok like to have to pat an additional 18.50 euro for breakfast, which was poor value for money.
The Staff Being booked out as you were fully booked on first night and lack of restaurant
The location is excellent and the area is quite safe and peaceful. Adequate conditions for offered price.
staff excellent walls too thin could here the neighboors
Easy, friendy, service by staff. They went out of their way to help and offer help. I was late to the hotel (not a problem). I used the shuttle bus to the airport there was a problem but the desk sorted it out for me quickly and efficiently. Banging doors downstairs at 3AM. Probably just a one off, but it woke me up.
Clean, good location, 12:00 checkout time Expensive breakfasts (17.50 euros)
Surroundings: near beautiful Vondelpark in Amsterdam. Sice of room, spacious, many windows, good view. Very black dirty stain in corner of bath tub. Beds and pillows are very soft and uncomfortable.
staff very attentive and helpful; location very convenient; room was huge and shower very impressive no issues (corridors were vacuumed from 9am which was a little early if having a lie-in)
large clean rooms, good location smoking in the lobby
We enjoyed our clean, comfortable room just a short walk from the Van Gogh Museum. It is very close to the Concert Hall and tram stops, and you'll find restaurants and a very nice bakery nearby. The staff was pleasant and helpful. They speak English well.
Sunlit breakfast room was quite pleasant. The hotel was right across the square from the major museums and concertthall. Decorations are a bit sparce; there was construction going on next door in the back; they started drilling at 7:00 AM two mornings in a row. Ask for front room if they are still working.
Very good location The room was extremely cold! When we arrived the heaters were turned down (it was round 2 degrees woutside so inside not much more). I turned on the heaters to max, it helped a bit but when we came back late at night they were completely cold, even though they were set to 5. I was freezing the whole night long! Additionally we only had hot water during the first day, on the second it was warm, but impossible for me to wash my hair...
very comfortable bed none
Great location, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room.
The room was spacious and clean. The beds were quite comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is adequate. Very good value for money. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who's on tight budget. The location: although the hotel is located in the museum quarter, it is not exactly the most accessible spot in Amsterdam. I'd prefer staying near the central train station or the eastern canal ring. The hotel is next to a schoolyard/children playground, so it could get a bit noisy during the day.
Fantasticly comfortable beds Paying for breakfast
Staff, breakfast room, location, size of hotel carpet is a bit dirty/old - but it is in the city. And one lamp was broken in the room.
Quiet location in pretty area of Amsterdam. Comfortable and clean. Friendly and helpful owner/manager. Lovely breakfast.
staff there was no WLAN, bathroom was stinky
Attentive, informative staff
Extremely accommodating, kind and sincere staff. Nice rooms. Great location. Have been back numerous times since my first stay. Single room is small, but noticed that all other single rooms are same size.
The staff was exceptional! Extremely helpful and considerate. Knowledgeable about attractions, tickets, local businesses etc. Very clean - breakfast was wonderful. Nothing. Wish I had stayed there for my entire visit.
Location and staff
very kind staff, good breakfast no elevator, toilet(no flush - fixed next day )
Easy to find, close to the center, clean.
The single best thing about this hotel is its location. It is a typical Amsterdam street with charming houses, lovely and quiet. Not a tourist street as all nearby houses are just private ones, and the hotel obviously used to be one of them. At the same time the location is central enough- Van Gogh museum is on the same street 5 min walk away, canals are 10min walk. I walked as far as the Central Station and then some, via Dam square and Kalverstraat. Another good thing is that there's a tram (#2) going down this street, you can use it whenever you're lazy, also you could walk along the tram line, so as not to go astray when you go back to the hotel, if you have some topographic cretinism (like myself). The room had "unofficial" free wifi. The signle worst thing about the hotel is of course the room size, the single room is just a single bed plus a little space around. This was as advertised so no complaints about that. If you come for sightseeing that's ok because there's no point wasting time in the hotel. And the lovely location more than makes up for the room size.
Quiet location close to concert hall and park. Excellent breakfast and high standard of service
A friendly comfortable and modern hotel, in a quiet area close to the Vondelpark and museum district. Can be reached from the main station by tram 2 or 5. Nothing
the stay was good due to the staff being very helpfull and cheerful
Easy, clean, comfy bed. Small towels, and bathroom facilities
Located in a relatively calm, quiet area, within walking distance of many sites. Rooms are very tired, with carpet that needs immediate replacement. Shower is configured in a way that the entire bathroom floor gets soaked with water. Non-smoking floor was filled with cigarette smoke every night (and it came into the room). Poorly-lit rooms. Staff not rude, but a bit curt.
the garden and the room
loacation is very good! the view in the room was not fine.
business trip the minibar wasn't in the room and the chek out is at 11 o' clock
The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating! The room was clean, hotel location is awesome and we even managed to park outside...twice!! Would definitely stay here when in Amsterdam again. We managed to book the night before arriving (very last minute) and were so happy with everything!
hotel staff is very good and cute
Lacation and the garden Quality/price rate
Proximity to the museums and concert hall, as well as Vondel Park. Our room, even though it was very small, overlooks the park and a church steeple, so it was very peaceful. Also free internet use so that was excellent. And the breakfast was quite nice. Walls were a bit thin and the room was small. But it was clean and comfortable so generally fine.
allow downloads and use of pendrive at the computer used by the customers
Convenient location for most things in Amsterdam. The room was narrower than my outstretched hands and the bed too short for me. Aircon machine next door rattled intermittently all night long.
The location is fabulous and the staff are very helpful. The rooms were a bit small which wouldn't be so bad if they were cleaner! Walls were dirty, everything in general was a bit unclean.
Close to the Garden, so feel like home. Great! Of price, location. None
The position. A fairly quiet road away from the main town but within easy walking distance. Lift was not working. A long walk to the 4th floor!
relaxing no sauna?....
Location was good... easy access to museums and transportation. room was cramped - four twin beds wall-to-wall - but clean. This was one of the few places that would allow a one-night booking. We were able to store our bags (albeit in the corner of their restaurant... not very secure) on both our arrival and departure days. Staff was not the friendliest. When we arrived, the woman at the front desk did not acknowledge us for several minutes as our family of four stood in the lobby. The rooms are clean but not at all nicely decorated. Just functional. Expensive for what you get, but that seems to be the theme for traveling in Europe in July!
If you plan on seeing the museums, this hotel is a perfect location. Exterior under renovation; covered by scaffolding. Single room next to luggage storage room--very noisy. Not the greatest place, but it suited the purpose and had a 3-per-room option.
The location Hotel need to be renovated, too old, toilet smell bad and is old, not a 3star hotel
I loved the different themes in the rooms. It made the stay interesting and enjoyable, not like I was staying in any old hotel. No parking, but not the hotel's fault.
Generally was very friendly atmosphere Small beds; liking taps
The hotel is in the centre; it is quiet; the rooms are nicely decorated; the windows are big and can be opened; the hotel is interesting. The rooms are small for 2 persons; the rooms were not carefully cleaned during our 3 nights stay (mainly the floor - carpet); a cloth hanger in the bathroom would be nice; more convenient storage room for "long" coats and dresses.
Culture factor. The philosphy theme. Location in town. Breakfast. Lower room standard than I expected for the price (cosy room).
nice hotel with individual rooms, great topics (philosophy!), place is good, near tram, quite quiet rooms a bit shabby, toilet/shower very small, breakfast too expensive (but you need not to take and pay it); beware of "double" beds!
Location is excellent. Very friendly and helpful staff. Check-in from 2 pm is too late in my view.
Quaint facility, good neighboughood, restraunts cloose by, good access to places of interest. donn't "drink" to much if you have to navigate the stairs!
I loved the neighborhood. It was a little outside the city center, butnot too bad
Not far to center. Steep funny stairs :).
The perfect place to stay while amsterdaming! I will visit it again for sure!
From first entering the staff were warm and friendly. The lobby and cafe is stylish and relaxing, very clean and modern. The rooms are lovely - clean, comfortable and the en suites are clean and lovely. The location is ideal for the city centre via the tram and vondelpark is a few minutes walk away. 5 star place.
It was located in a beautiful city and was ideally located for me to run the Marathon. Where do I start???? I put all the money for our accommodation onto a pre-paid credit card that I got especially for the trip... to find Apple Inn had put a block on the card.. so I had to pay with Euros that made us skint for the whole entire weekend! I asked the receptionist if I could have a shower when I finished the Marathon, she said I could if I swapped our quad room to a triple & a single.. which we weren't going to do.. as it was me, my husband & our two children. When I finished the marathon we went back to collect our bag to find two other marathon runners using showers facilities and a different receptionist said I was also ok to use one??? Make your mind up!!! Also my bed was broken and was very dangerous. RUBBISH!!!
nothing, it was more like a hostel. room was tiny, bed was less than 2 feet from wall, room was not cleaned during our 3 days and we had to ask for towels. The health and safety aspect of our room on top floor was questionable. Under no circumstances would I recommend this place.
Comfortable beds, good breakfast, great location - just far enough out of town and a nice walk through Vondelpark each morning to get there. Front desk staff not overly friendly.
The location wqas ideal for a family, a 10 minute tram ride (tram no.2 Runs past hotel) straight into heqart of city, the rooms were suitable as we only used as a base but adequate and comfy. Breakfast was fine too I would recommend this hotel to families but if you want night life maybe stay in the centre There was nothing about this hotel I didnt like, people complain about the stairs but thats amsterdam for you! I managed the stairs with a rucksack and pushchair so it is possible, but just be prepared for them, (mist hotels were the same anyway!)
Everything. The staff, the cleanliness and the decor. I would live in this little hotel if I could. nothing
comfortable beds would have liked a more accurate map for our sightseeing!
Great location near the Vondelpark. Very friendly staff
The staff were very personable and helpful in responding to our questions about directions, local travel, restaurants and assistance. The location is close to the Museumplein and next to Vondelpark. The room was quite nice and fairly spacious for European hotels along with being very quiet and open with large windows to let light and fresh air in. There were 3 different nightly room rates for the same room which could not be explained.
pretty good located
The staff were helpful and very friendly. The park at the back of the hotel was lovely and a nice way to walk into the centre of Amsterdam This was not worth the £100 we paid. The curtains were thick with dust. The double bed was two beds pushed together with two single duvets. We were cold as the radiators were hardly on!. The telephone didn't work in our horrible room. We had no towels and had to go to reception at 7pm, to be told we had to wait for half an hour. The breakfast was not good and not worth the extra money either. Side plates for dinner plates was a let down. I think this hotel should be more like £50 a night. The photos have been cleverly taken -beware!!! What a let down! I have never left negative feed back
Great location on edge of Vondel Park, walking distance to city centre or a short tram ride. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were small but relatively cosy.
The tea, coffee and heater present in the room the staff, unwilling to help, unexperienced
excellent location half of the rooms in the hotel are located in the basement--too dark and claustrophobic
Location Room were not cleaned, only beds. Coffee tea etc not filled up. Weared and old towels. If the room was serviced, they servcied it only at 4 o' clock. reservation was mixed up. we asked for room on the same floor, did not happen. The wallpaper in the room are coming off the wall. The hotel is renovating.
The male poerter. Vwery friendly and helpful.
