Helpful staff, good food, comfortable room, ease of access to airport
Ideal situation/location of hotel. Reception staff initially not very welcoming.
This is not a 5 star hotel. Hwo is responsible for evaluation?? I will not recommend to pay as 5-star hotel to anyone.
Excellent breakfast Very poor quality for money. Impossible to sleep because of noise from airplanes, cars passing in the street with very loud radios on all night, noisy motorbikes and so on. Depressing furniture. Poor view. Depressing surroundings.
Everything. Breakfast was especially good. Staff very helpful. Nothing negative. A bit pricey but that is what you expect for a five star hotel.
The breakfast and the Hotel receptionist very helpful!!!!!! The rooms were poor and aren't to 5 star standards!!!!!
Old furniture, bad smell. This is not 5-star hotel for sure.
Location was good for being close to the port, but the walk up a fairly steep hill with luggage has put me off from stying here again. Lack of communication about the breakfast that was included in the room rate, we were advised we could have our breakfast in our room but was then charged full rate for doing so
The staff were great & with a smile on their face. The Porter Con was absolutely fantastic (keep up your great service Con) & so were the reception staff. The Breakfast buffet had great selection. The motel was very clean & comfortable, close to restaurants & shops & also the port. We will stay there again. no
Near the airport, large and very well appointed room, we booked a sea view room and thought it well worth it, superlative breakfast including an orange squeezing machine and Cretan specialites with a notice saying what they were. Central location including proximity to the Archeolgical Museum (which is shut for rebuilding and a tempory exhibition of "highlights" is underwhelming). Being presented with the visa receipt after OK-ing bill and asked to fill in the "Tip" box. I had tipped appropriately as we went and I found this a little grasping
This is an excellent hotel in a very convenient location for sight-seeing. Everything is nearby and close to the waterfront. The staff is friendly and helpful. A bit pricey bu you would probably expect that for a five-star hotel.
The hotel is centrally located, and offers free wifi in the lobby. There is no way this is a five star or even four star hotel. Our room was supposed to be non-smoking, but reeked of smoke and the bed was quite uncomfortable. The hotel was generally worn, from the lobby, which at first glance looked stylish, but upon closer inspection was run down. The helpfulness of the staff varied widely, and I did not appreciate the snickers from the woman at the front desk when I, rather than my husband, handed her a credit card to pay.
Good breakfast, hotel is located right at the beach, quiet place
Close to the beach. Excellent breakfast Small room. Missing seaview, expensive!
Location Cleaness, service
easy access. easy parking. comfortable rooms. very good breakfast.
convenience, near the main road, ferry the mattress is bad, sleep is not good, breakfast is so so
Location was perfect, near port and near main street.. Mattress is very bad, I got back pain when I stayed in this hotel for total six nights. Water was not hot enough. No free internet was inconvenience
I liked the closeness to the main walking mall. Would of liked some tea & coffee making facility in our rooms,
We arrived early but were allowed into our room. Staff were helpful and friendly. We stayed for only one night ahead of our flight but would happily return for longer. Five minutes walk from bus station and three main museums. Excellent breakfast included in price.
Large room, excellent facilities and helpfulness of staff, especially as only 2 star. Really good value for money. 5 minutes walk from all central points in Herakleio. Slight difficulty finding by car but parking available at the hotel.
Maria and George, the owners, are really nice and well-educated people. They care about you and your stay. The hotel itself is in a good location, almost on top of the hill, and offers a good panoramic view. However, that also means that the beach is more than one step from the hotel. But there is a pool to compensate for that and overall, the hotel territory is nicely decorated. About 200 meters from the hotel there is a bistro, a bar, bike and two car rental services and an excursion trains pick up point. In about 10 mins walking you'll reach more bars, a couple of night clubs, a couple of souvenir shops, more bike\quad\moto rentals (hotel has a parking), a small supermarket. The nearest town is about 15-20 mins walking. WiFi is free. The nicely decorated hotel territory is in stark contrast with somewhat run-down roads and other public infrastructure nearby.
George and Maria are wonderful hosts. The hotel is run in a very personable way. We were on a two week tour and had only two days on Crete so needed good access to Archeolgical Sites, Airport, and a relaxing beach. We had a great end of season rate for the hotel. There were some bugs in the shower (small fly like things.) Since it is run like a bed and breakfast, not too much late night ammenities. Difficult to find at first but close to main highway for access to Iraklio and Agios Nikolaos (great resort town!)
It was a great week in a great appartment. The owners (george and maria) were very nice to us and to the others. You stay a couple of minutes from Hersonisos in the quiet and beautiful Anisaras.
Clean, quite (except for bugs), excellent location - 3 min drive to Hersonissos, 10 min drive to Creta acquarium, 15 to aquapark.
near the airport, little kitchen with basic stuff to cook, nice room, nice pool, nice little garden. the staff didin't tell us about the facilities of the surrondings (like the local bus, the nearest market), the city of Anissaras is really bad, nothing to do, ugly, really bad location, except by the fact that it is near the airport!
This hotel was one of the best I have seen! Everything was excellent! (good atmosphere, fine furnished clean room, beautiful garden with 2 pools, good service etc.) The hotel owners Maria & George were so hospitably and helpful. They always took care and spoke frankly to guests. We could very enjoy & relax here. Our stay in Crete was became more fantastic by them. We absolute recommend you to stay in Kreta Natur. If you want to stay here, it is better to rent a car, because the hotel location is a little bit far away from a main load (about 10 min by food) and furthermore you can go to all around in Crete.
This hotel is a perfect choice for those who want to relax! It is a very peaceful and beautiful place! The pool the garden and outside area is perfect!!!lovely owners ad very friendly!the location is very convenience since it is closed to the beach(500m) and near to Heraclion city (20km) if you want to escape to a big city.
The grounds are very nice. The room was roomy. The kitchen is small but useable. The location is remote enough so that there is little noise at night. The room and bathroom were clean.
we like the closeness to the sites and activities, the silence and the nature. every things was satisfactory.
food, location, accomodation Beach sport entertainment could be done by hotel and included in hotel price partly but not by a third party team. Windsurfing or water skiing training would be as plus.
Friendly hotel good facilities good buffet selection. Italian Restaurant particularly good.
Location and big rooms Their service no mini bar in hotel
The hotel is on the beach so that was useful with the children. There was not much to do in the local area of the hotel.
The hotel location is on a very nice beach, the staff is amazing!!! Very nice and helpfull!!! The rooms is very clean. There is a very good bus that conect the hotel diractly to city center and airport. No need to spend money on taxi All over the hotel there is a very strong smell of smoking. Discasting smell. A bit far from city center, need to take bus/taxi or be sporty and walk on the beach 4km
friendly, helpful staff, very comfortable room, free internet access, good breakfast buffet
The staff and the service. Breakfast was excellent. Older than I expected.
Good location near ferry/port area and city, helpful staff, valet parking, great breakfast, excellent harbour view from seaview rooms, worth paying a bit extra.
Staff was very helpful, buffet breakfast was great with lots of choices. Location was good for exploring Heraklion. Maybe just a bit overpriced.
the willingness of the receptionist to assist us in all we requested. the old carpet in our room had a bad smell.
We booked based on the location, but were delightfully pleased by the overall comfort and cleanliness of the facility.
We chose a Room with sea view and the view was really beautiful. The staff was always nice and very helpful.
Cozy room, harbor view, balcony, friendly and knowledgeable staff A bit self-consciously overdesigned
The food was very good. Location convenient for central Heraklion and handy for the bus station and airport. Also has good view over the harbour, although this isn't exactly picturesque! Good place to stay a night whilst waiting for a plane or boat to go somewhere else. Bedroom was cramped for 2 people. Balcony extremely small. It's also under the flypath for the airport.
The beds were the most comfortable in all of the hotels that we stayed in, while in Crete. We had a beautiful view of the harbour and a nice walking distance to the shops. The pictures of the hotel really show what the hotel is like.
Helpfulness of the front desk staff on arrival No
Since the recent renovation, the quality of rooms is outstanding. Breakfasts and bar menu excellent. The standards of service and staff friendliness are exceptionally good.
The hotel facilities were new, but the location was a bit far from the center. NO
Awesome stay, friendly staff, clean and upscale
The fact we were upgraded for a club suite on arrivval and everything is brand new, clean, with good service. would like to reccomend anastasia on reception who was cocktails at the bar were bad
entrance, reception, facilities, location, very very small room and bathroom like in Ibis hotel, waitress in bar not very kind to customers, breakfast not enough big for 5 stars hotel
The staff is very helpful, professional and quick. The hotel is brand new, nice and clean. Good Gym. Very good breakfast.
The staff were very friendly The website said the hotel had facilities that it didnt have eg.pay tv , day spa and wellness centre , 24hour room service
hotel staff eager small rooms
Good location, easy to find. Breakfast was a buffet with everything, excellent. Liked the balcony, busy street below to watch but some traffic noise when trying to sleep. For some reason they have 2 single beds pushed together instead of a king or queen.
we loved everything. Pool looked and was fantastic. Whole hotel was really beautiful nad staff friendly and welcoming no - loved it all
Great hotel. Excellent staff, especially wait staff. Really comfortable beds. Nice hotel which I'd recommend.
Excellent facilities. Staff can be friendlier in their service and less automative. Staff should learn how to smile more and show more warmth and friendliness.
Great experience - I will return.
Vergis Epavlis has been the best place where to relax and disconnect. It’s excellent place, the great breakfasts with an amazing sight, the comfortable and luxurious rooms, the quiet moments at the swimming pool… An exquisite attention from the owners as well as the little details has done these holidays the best ones. An unforgettable experience, we hope to repeat again. Gonzalo y mónica. All good things finish someday, so we couldn’t stay more days within this little paradise.
This hotel is very special, the rooms are really good, the nature around is astonishing and the people there are so nice and friendly like in no other place we have been. This is the second time we went to this hotel and we will be back again for sure!
we enjoyed an amazing view, the most special hospitality, and a gorgeous place to stay, big and comfortable and beutiful rooms, we never wanted to go outside... to leave...
The location, staff, facilities - everything!
Everything. Very friendly and welcoming.
Location and attitude of staff
Quiet accommodation in a wonderful house in the typical landscape of Crete. Large rooms/apartments with an extraordinary design and views, superb service, nice dining room, unforgettable tavern Ethimico...
Great attention to detail given by staff to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of all guests. Rooms are large and spacious and tasetefully decorated. Balcony is a good size. Location is either perfect or a little bit remote depending on your point of view. For me it was a little remote but we had a hire car (essential) and it proved to be a good central base.
Free wireless internet inside the room. Accessibility in the tourist center. It takes time to get water heated. It's a waste of water to do just that.
The location is near the city center and the port , easy access to transportation. The hotel is hard to find.We asked many people around there and no one seems to know the hotel , or even the Lahana street where it is located. I think the hotel should provide its map prior to the arrival of the customer. The map should be in Greek since the streets of Heraklion do not have their name written in English.
Fine but nothing special
Rooms clean and cheerful. Staff very helpful. Nothing, the room was great.
very well placed for the centre of town, and in a quiet street Hardly the hotel's fault - but we found it impossible to arrive by car. Traffic and signs were impossible.Iraklion was the worst place in Crete for finding our way.We just gave up - and went to the airport (getting once more lost on the way) returned the hire car early, and went back by taxi. This turned out to be a very wise decision.
Super nice staff, good location, ok price. Very difficult to find. Ask local people, they all know the way.
The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. It was difficult to find and a bit expensive for what I received.
Quiet in evening, Restaurants near-by and free wlan Hard to find a parking place.
Close to port - easy walking distance. Quiet. Clean. Basic and close to old town. Smokey lobby.
Location, price and comfortable beds. The shower and bathroom was very small.
Both dimitris and his mother, georgia, were very attentive / they offered and have transfer from & to airport / they wellcomed us very well / we ordered dinner one night that was really very good and very tasty(greek cuisine - georgia cooks fantastically) / the map of creta and the tips and orientations they gave were really useful
Terrible location, substandard rooms at any price
The owners were wonderful. Made you feel like family.
Very nice and familial hotel! An enthusiastic welcome and disponibility from Dimitri to give advices for vistiting Crete! There are a so convivial atmosphere in the garden during diner prepared by Gergia (the mother). We will just keep good memories! not very beautiful area around the hotel
I liked the staff. The typical greek hospitality. It is rather smaller "family type" hotel. Really friendly atmosphere.
The staff, the family atmosphere Too little space for meals
Really friendly, helpfull staff making you feel like home. Hotel was situated close to the sea with view on the sea and a nice pool situated in a beautiful garden. The first night we could not stay in the hotel because other guests had an exident and didn´t check out in time. We were brought to another hotel nearby which was the same price category but totally different standard in cleanliness, hospitality, breakfast.
The room was big and airy the decor quite nice. The staff were special, there was an incident where other clients had a car crash and could not move, so when we arrive they had arranged to put us up in another hotel for a day. Then they cooked a beautiful Creatan meal with wine as an apology to us. We felt we had received Creatian hospitality.
Very friendly staff - relaxed atmosphere. Room was basic but with character, great pool, close to the beach, inexpensive. Bathroom was a bit basic, but really ok considering price.
The location of the hotel is very nice Accidentally they had problems with credit cards on the day I paid and asked for cash, which I did not have. However, they managed with the bank later.
location; hotel was well kept room was very smokey, but that was somewhat expected.
The room was very good - the breakfast excellent - staff helpful. Hotel position very convenient.
nothing bad smell at the breakfast , noise from the room ,
Very nice and helpful staff at reception. Great central location.
We stayed there twice. The hotel kept clean and is located close to the city center. It is close to a public parking lot, which is important as it is hard to park on the street. Their facility is modern. If we go back to Creta, we would definately stay there again.
Location very convenient Clean and comfortable
Very friendly staff, close to main areas of town for shopping and eating, nice rooms, nice roof terrace overlooking the Aegean
The hotel was very clean, the staff helpfull and most important it was very close to the centre of the town. Just 5 minutes walk and you had access to everything.
It was close to the center of Iraklio, grate location.
Free high-speed wireless Heraklion is a dump, but this hotel provides good access to it.
Very helpful staff at the reception. There are many tavernas and shops near by.The hotel is comfortable and convenient for all aspects of Heraklion life very difficult to park
The hotle is very well situated with near access to 25th of August St. and the Market. The view of the venetian castle and harbor from from the hotel is dreammy. The hotel itself is very designer modern inside while classic outside. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. The salads were very good at the roof top restaurant. They arranged for timely transportation to Knossos and the airport. My only bad experience was a group of very roudy Japanese tourists which may have had too much to drink and woke me up at 12:30 a.m. on my last night here. Otherwise, this was a perfect stay.
Great service, nice room. Noisy at times as located in the proximity of the airport. Then again so is almost all of Heraklion and the windows keep out most of the noise. The step up chair provided in front of the bathtub to climb in and use as a shower is a nice touch but I prefer a separate shower without the climbing exercise.
A luxury hotel with excellent staff and fantastic food. Located near marina, port and easy walk to shops, museums etc.
The building, the hard wood floors, the breakfast, people were nice. There were very few people working ! there was no one at the front door when we arrived and we had to walk to the receprtion to tell them we needed someone for our luggage... they send a girl(a waitress) to pick them up!!! I felt bad for her. There was something uncomfortable about how the ground floor was designed , the location of the reception behind all these glass doors!
Good hotel nice staff perfect location to start and finisch your trip to crete, next to harbour and airport, no noise and relaxed atmosphere nice breakfast
Excellent, helpful and friendly service. Immaculate presentation Dinner was average - not up to standard set by the rest of the hotel
Perfect location in the heart of the city next to bus terminal . Friendly multilingual staff. Luxurious atmosphere.
We wanted a hotel that was located near the airport. It was very convenient. The staff was exceptionally helpful. The room was clean. Great value The neighborhood was a bit hinky, as can be expected near an airport. Difficult to find decent food, especially if you didn't care to drive.
Close to the airport Very loud (airport, street). If you have an early or late flight and only stay for one night it's ok, but not for a longer vacation.
The staff were courteous, and helpful and spoke or understood English very well, which was helpful to us, because we were tired. We only stayed one night so can not comment on other matters. The hotel was a high standard and comfortable for our transition, to our holiday desination.
The cleanliness, the quietness and the nearness to the airport No curtain for the bath, poor breakfast
I chose the hotel for one night purely because of its proximity to Heraklion airport (5-10 minutes by car) as my flight was late in the evening. Noise from aircraft, although it was expected.
the location the hotel should propose a free shuttle to/from the airport.
Easy to find, close to airport, nice pool, 10 mins driving from city center
Friendliness of staff in this Family Hotel ,convenient for airport. Free internet, good BBQ evening meals - nothing too much trouble. Very hard beds
Location 3 mins from the airport The planes fly most of the night!
Attitude of staff is very nice; good swimming pool! Noisy in night from airplane
We were delayed on the ferry from Mykonos and booked this hotel at the last minute so we wouldn't have to drive to our timeshare at midnight. We arrived after 11 p.m, not expecting much. We were happy to be met by a very enthusiastic and nice receptionist, and we could still get something to eat--a terrific omelet, by the way. There was a bar too. Our room was great! I highly recommend this family-owned hotel.
Friendly and very helpful staff.
Clean and cheap hotel, friendly staff, 8-10 min walk from city centre, it offers everything that you might need for your stay, nothing more and nothing less!
Value and front desk people It would be nice if the wireless could be available in themrooms inadditionmto the lobby.
Extraordinary helpful and friendly staff. Small choice for breakfast.
Very nice stay. The hotel is close to the center of the city, as well as the bus terminal. The staff is very friendly, smiling and service minded. The rooms have good space, nice furniture (you rest your feet well in the beds) and nice little terrasses. The hotel was tidy and clean, but during our stay the floor in our room apparantly wasn't vacuumed, so it got a little dirty. The worse thing to be said about the hotel is, that the road it's on is not all too appealing - it's different from the more tourist minded city center. However, within few minutes of walking, you have a fine super market, an internet café, a bowling center and a McD. The hotel is simply not on the main road, but right next to it.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and as our Greek was poor their English was appreciated. Slightly noisy street noise)
Tv without canal satellite with channels from europe !!
The location & room was good for just 1 night stay in Crete. Clean overall. The bathroom was rather small for us and there isn't much hot water.
Great staff and good location. Very close to city center. Great value for money. The only bad thing is the thin walls. But rooms are very clean and comfortable.
value for money
location: close to shopping & nightlife + not too far from airport/port Hotel breakfast buffet was overrated. possibly noisy from airport during busy summer months
Very good location. Right in the center of the town. Very close to the port for boat traveling, about 15 min drive to airport. Walk 5 mins to market, car rental agencies, travel agencies. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Good to have free wifi cover the whole hotel. The room could be cleaner.
I booked an executive room which was lovely as we had a seating area in the room. We put out the sign to have our room cleaned and only the bar fridge was stocked.
I liked the decorations and comfort of the rooms and the service by the staff. Breakfast was also excellent. Very convenient location too should you want to visit the city centre of Heraclion or if you are in a business trip. The swimming pool should open earlier and not at 11 am.. You couldn't have a swim before breakfast.. the pool could do with a renovation too - the style was too 70s..
The location is with walking distance of the port, bus station, and local attractions. The staff was helpful in arranging an extra night there, and they were helpful in every way. The bed was not as soft as I need with a sore back, but the room had lots of extra pillows.
Breakfast was excellent. Opening hours of swimming pool.
Astoria Capsis is located in the heart of Heraklion near major sites and shopping opportunities. You can easily walk to a lot of archaeological sites like the former fortress docks & harbours. There are a lot places to eat and shopping close by. No fitness center for exercise. There weren't a lot of choice for their breakfast. Can be noisy. My room had a noticeable sway for no apparent reason, possibly the foundation of the building was not stable.
Large, spacious room..nice beds.. Small bathroom
Very comfortable room with big balcony. Excellent common areas & the rooftop pool & bar with fantastic views of Heraklion
Everyone was helpful. Swimming pool was closed, although this was not stated on booking.
Luxury hotel, located next to the old town of Heraklion. We booked this hotel because of the swimming pool on top of the roof. But, it wasn't open! Only open in the summer season, okay, it was September, but hey, only a pool in July or August???
Closeness to attractions Clerks were rude at reception, room was dusty (floors, table in balcony
