Very clean room. Everyone in the staff was very friendly. Nothing bad to say. Everything was great!
Staff was very helpful, especially given how busy they were. (Lack of signage) made it a little hard to find. Noise carried over from other room. Street exit was one-way. Parking lot and sidewalk were not cleared, making it slippery.
Free USA Today--just like every other hotel. Plenty of breakfast food, but quality was low. No butter, only some whipped margarine-like goo. Lots of heavy starches & some inedible-looking meat. Bottled water only available at front desk.

Clean, quiet room. Helpful, friendly staff. Short length of breakfast hours on weekend.
Our room had a view of the woods behind the hotel. It was very peaceful and quiet. The hotel sits behind a row of restaurants and you can miss it if you don't look carefully. There was one small sign at one entrance of the property that was barely visible from the main road.
Great Staff, nice rooms.
friendliness of staff
The Holiday Inn Express Apex is a great hotel. Clean and comfortable rooms in a very good location. The staff is friendly and helpful. This is my second stay at the hotel and I will definitely be back.
The airport location is perfect, the staff was quite courteous and helpful, the room was comfortable and spacious. The fitness center was okay but no better, and the breakfast was not as good as at competitors like the Fairfield Inn (which of course is also more expensive).
Construction in hotel was disruptive
Close to airport, has shuttle to airport, fitness room & pool, nice property, helpful staff, quiet, large room, fridge & microwave, restaurants nearby, clean, pretty room, good value. Pantry items are expensive - big mark up. But you can walk across the road to a convenience mart & pay much less.
This was a surprisingly nice hotel considering the price was so reasonable. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was in a safe area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There are 2 buildings next to each other. I went to the wrong building to check in first. There should be a better way to differentiate between the 2 buildings for check, especially for people who have been driving all day.
The facility was nice and very comfortable although we didn't spend much time in the room. The staff was very friendly. Lack of toiletries that other hotels have in the room. No restaurants open after 1 a.m. in the area except Waffle House.
Recently remodeled and looks great. Bed was extremely comfortable. Airport shuttle and parking along with the breakfast make this the place to stay when traveling out of Raleigh
Would have preferred $10 off instead of the lame breakfast offering
Easy in and out. Prompt shuttle service to the airport. I wanted price below $100 after taxes.
My previous stay at a La Quinta in another location was in an older, run-down facility. This one was newer and the decor updated. The room was fairly large with a mini-fridge & microwave included. The free breakfast was good with plenty of options. I especially liked the wafflemaker. The staff were all nice & personable. I had an outer room that faced a busy roadway. There was less noise at night but one should ask for an inner room.
I loved that this was very close to the airport. Great gym and it was nice to have a pool. The bed was not exceptionally comfortable but it was fine. I'm sure the bedding was cleaned but as is the case with white, there were some remnant stains... Warning: There is NOTHING around here. Went to the outlet mall nearby and there was a subway, an asian fast food, and philly cheesesteak place. This place was deserted.
Clean rooms, nice desk with lamp and new and updated amenities.
I had called before my arrival and requested a room on the first floor that opened up to the pool. Donald was able to accommodate my request. Also, the pool and grounds were kept clean.
Check in staff Renee was awesome! Room was nice and clean. There was nearly no food in breakfast. It opened at 7am and we arrived around 8am to find no eggs, pancakes, low on juice. I asked the front desk as there were others behind us looking for food. It took 15 minutes for the person to arrive. We left just as she arrived. There was a dog staying there. So now we must ask for no smoking and no pet rooms???
Easy in and out, no frills but nice clean room with adequate toiletries, friendly helpful staff. Property could be kept up a little nicer on the outside.
Good location. Well maintained property, inside and out. Super clean. Very well trained, helpful staff with great attitudes, both in person and on the phone. Overall, an excellent property in all respects at a very reasonable price. From here forward, this is my hotel in Raleigh. Nothing negative. It was all top notch.
Good value with friendly and helpful staff. The internet WiFi was very poor. Even though my room was very close to the front desk, the signal was so weak I struggled to do even simple email. Good thing I wasn't planning on doing anything important or work related. This needs to be fixed if they expect business travelers. The location is tough to find as it is tucked behind other businesses but once your are there, it is an easy on and off Rt1 for Cary or Raleigh.
We were just staying for one night and it had everything we needed.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room had more than I expected.
Clean Severely outdated bathroom, missing light bulbs in room.
Front desk staff very pleasant and understanding. Dirty, dismall and ended up leaving after 2 room changes got my deposit back from the agent. NEVER again. I stayed at a Hampton Inn and Suites, They should take a page out of their book.
Very clean, great value, friendly front desk staff, new bathroom Scratchy thin sheets, oddly small sized pillows, no fridge in room
Very comfortable rooms...pool was good.. close to everything. Need a vehicle or uber, but everything pretty close.
The location was great. Very easy to get to and had lots of restaurants and nice businesses nearby. Very clean and comfortable. Very impressed by Best Western Plus
The room was spacious and reasonably clean and comfortable The check in desk had a long line each time I walked by and it took about 10 minutes to get service each time with no eye contact or acknowledgement from the staff. The front desk staff who checked me in was disorganized and kept asking the same questions more than once. There was a leak in the hallway. There are stairs everywhere and I never did find the elevator. It is definitely not handicap or stroller friendly.
This hotel while a little off the beaten path afforded us a great stay. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We were impressed with the shower heads and the water pressure. Overall it was a very comfortable and affordable stay for last minute find. While driving at night, we missed the turn into the hotel street. It was not very clearly marked.
Rooms were cozy Room service food was not bad Front-desk staff were very helpful Staff at onsite restaurant/bar not attentive and sloppy
The staff was friendly and helpful. The facilities both in room and out were comfortable and eye appealing. Liked it all.
Clean Shuttle does not run in time for early flights out.
Very comfortable bed, very nice pillows, nice shower, newly renovated building with very nice appointments throughout, very friendly staff.
ALL THE ACCOMODATIONS. NOT APPLICABLE.
Hotel staff was helpful in finding a place to have dinner. Very friendly. We had an early flight and asked for a 4:30 am wake-up call and a taxi at 5:00 am (the shuttle did not start until 5:30 am). They forgot our wake-up call. Fortunately, they did remember the taxi. When we called down to the desk at 4:45 to conform the taxi, we mentioned the lost wake- up call. The front desk person apologized. When we went down, the front desk person apologized again and told us that our room for that night would be free, and presented a revised invoice to that effect. this was a great way to fix a mistake and I would stay there again.
I enjoyed the bar area to have a bit to eat, watch football and have a couple of drinks. I also found it nice to be able to leave my vehicle in the parking lot and be driven to and from the airport.
Reasonable rates and has a comfortable decor with numerous onsite amenities. The mattress formed a large depression where we were laying after several hours. It became uncomfortable and difficult to lay in one place with the slope in the middle of the bed.
everything besides what I didn't like ice machine on second floor was broken for entire 3 day stay and friers at the food section weren't working so had limited menu and had to get take out instead
Accessibility, cleanliness, friendly staff, room size, and good hot breakfast.
It was clean, reasonably priced, convenient to the airport, and the staff were courteous and helpful. nothing
Close to the airport Dated -- needs renovation Front desk staff - one was really nice and the other was not helpful at all Shuttle to the airport -- it fill up quickly and you may get stranded
We enjoyed majority of the staff the room was very clean and cozy and breakfast in the morning was good enough and proximity and Raleigh was also a plus One of the staff members got somewhat salty with us when we were booking the room and some of the workers were loitering at the counter as we checked in, giving is no space. The rest of the workers were quite pleasent though :)
Hotel is fine and right next to the Capital Chop House, a very nice restaurant /steak house You are right under the approach to one if the runways so some jet noise but quiets down by 10-10:30 pm; room rate shared on Kayak was 10% higher than if I had booked directly with the hotel
Great staff great shuttle. Free upgrade. Nothing
Location AC unit in room was really loud and made the wall vibrate with noise. I had to turn it off because everytime it cycled on it was so loud that it woke me up. If it was summertime and really hot it would have made for an extremely unhappy and uncomfortable night
Staff and cleanliness Nothing
The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Room was OK in size. Upon check in, the clerk never got up off his butt to take care of anything, did the entire check in process from a chair. Also, he was on a personal call when I came in and let me stand there for a minute before even acknowledging me. The bathroom door knob was falling off and I didn't trust it to be used. The bath tub floor had been repaired, and it was done poorly. Finally, the shuttle service was less than stellar. As a matter of fact, even though many people were waiting for a ride back to the airport due to overnight cancellations from weather issues, they never stepped up their service. They continued to only make trips every half hour, even though many people were being bumped off due to the van being full. They should have increased the number of round trips. They are only located 1.5 miles away from the airport! I won't stay here again, not for $145.
All of our needs were met at a very reasonable price.
Breakfast was awesome, clean hotel, some of the staff was very friendly Receptionist first night was cold, almost rude.
Close to airport I have traveled all over the world Averaging 150 days a year Without a doubt the rudest staff ever Check in was the worst ever How could see keep here job Which set the stage for the entire night
The room was very large and roomy for the price every time the air would kick on it was very loud and disturbed me every time, it was hard to sleep with the noise of the air conditioner.
Room very clean. Continental breakfast good with a wide variety. Staff friendly
Great staff, great breakfast, comfort level was great
Breakfast could be upgraded
Bed was very comfortable and the room clean. Breakfast bar was well supplied. House cleaning did not clean room on 2nd day.
The staff was nice. Our room was clean. Parking was convenient to our room and I liked the breakfast. I booked the hotel as something fun for my sons birthday with the intent on getting good use of the pool and hot tub. The pool was cold and too small to enjoy with just 7 kids in the pool. The hot tub was even smaller and couldn't enjoy it because it was full with 4 kids and another adult. The pool room was obviously out of sight / out of mind as the room needed tidying up and a restock of towels. All the chairs for adults/non-swimmers were soaked because they are 2 feet away from pool (too close). I clearly indicated on the website that I was booking the room for 1 adult and 3 small kids. I chose the king bed room because it was the best value and seemed like it would have met our sleeping requirements (3 kids on the king and the adult on the pull out). The king bed was great for the kids but the pull out sofa needs to be thrown out! Nothing positive can be said about the pull out bed. The mattress was so bad, I actually got poaked from a spring that stuck through it. The frame was so uncomfortable/unbearable I actually chose to sleep on the floor and was much more comfortable sleep. I'm sure for the average traveler the hotel was fine but for my intentions and experience it wasn't worth the discounted rate of 79.99. I'm confident I could of had a better experience at another hotel at that price.
This was a very good, clean and appealing motel. We are from Ca. And had trouble locating it. It is back off the highway and at night NC does not have street lights and no large signs to let you see it from highway. Someone needs to do a better job with the breakfast. Bacon barely cooked! Sausage not cooked the 2nd day. Ran out of eggs. Large group of basketball women were there so maybe motel was unprepared for so many people.
layout of the room and nice sitting area.........nice computer access......... loved the walk-in shower need more coffee in room.......and more toiletries........hooked on Starbucks coffees not Wolfgang Pucks
Everything great service clean and safe
Was nice to have a full service restaurant in a business travel hotel. The food wan't bad either. One up on the competitors for that. Room was extremely spacious and bed was comfy. Shower was absolutely filthy. This wasn't the type of dirty that happens because someone missed it once, this can only be due to consistent neglect. I was only there one night and needed to get to a meeting so I didn't mention it to the hotel staff. I hate to penalize them for slow service in the restaurant as they are the only hotel in their type to actually have one, but service was slow. I guess it's a catch 22.
The vibe was a awesome, I had a great time. The hot tub was my favorite part. Every employee was also so welcoming and gave great customer service.
It was a large clean room next to where we needed to be. The front desk was not friendly at all. Barely spoke to us or even looked at us. We did not feel welcomed at all. Worst check in ever.... Felt like an inconvenience to her. Breakfast was poor.
The day manager who helped resolve our choice to check out early was very nice. The bed was comfortable. The couch was so uncomfortable you couldn't even sit in it. There was an unusual odor in the suite that was not pleasant but couldn't really figure out what it was. The rooms were outdated. The breakfast was a joke. Very skimpy!
The cleanliness, the indoor pool, the free cookies, and the business center so we could buy and print our hockey game tickets. :) We didn't love the bed comfort level, but we do have a temperpedic at home, so it just wasn't as comfortable.
Location is convenient to shopping, restaurants, and airport. Modern, clean, airy and spacious lobby with indoor and outdoor seating. Rooms are modern, sheets and towels are fresh-smelling and clean. Soaps and toiletries replaced each day. Microwave, fridge and coffee maker in room-nice touch. Free coffee in the lobby in the morning and water in the afternoon. Newspaper is complimentary each day. Hallways are quiet at night. Staff is very friendly, efficient and accommodating. Stayed with my mother while visiting family who live in Cary area; she will find fault in any and everything, yet even she commented she would stay at this hotel again. Seriously, the best compliment ever. Very reasonable price-excellent value. Hook on door for towels was missing-a minor nuisance. On check out day at 9:00 am maid knocked on door repeatedly. I forgot to put do not disturb sign on door. I answered and told her we would be leaving soon, but she spoke little to no English, and kept repeating when we would check out. She eventually got the message, but annoying nonetheless.
Felt clean, comfortable, and safe. Close to some decent dining options. All around great value. Staff was neutral upon our arrival -- not rude but not exactly friendly either. It didn't really have an impact really on our experience.
Check in was very fast. But BUYER BEWARE I drove into North Carolin from a 10 hr drive and booked this hotel because I had business in Apex, NC. Check in easy. However, when I got to the room you can sense this Hotel is Really a MOTEL charging Hotel rates. The rooms looked clean but upon closer inspection it was not. Carpets are dirty. Tub was dirty. I couldn't even make coffee the tea pot had bugs. The towels smelled like they hadn't been washed properly. Upon leaving I saw a staff member feeding her young child breakfast. I tried to do an early check out and they refused. The front desk manager checked the room said it was fine too him, that he had the flu (no surprise) and didn't smell anything. THIS BUILDING NEEDS TO BE TORN DOWN. In the end they REFUSED TO GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK. NOT EVEN A PARTIAL REFUND WHICH IS WHAT I ASKED FOR.. I had to Go through hell to locate a phone number for Booking.com which is not in the US but Europe- the only nice person I spoke with during this entire ordeal. Agreed to refund me 20. Euros back to my card. I was charged 119.00 US. This is not about the money had the room been 60. dollars okay I would have been like you get what you pay for. But 119. with an unfriendly staff and nasty room. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMFORT INN OR ANY COMFORT INN FOR THAT MATTER. ONE WORD DISGUSTING. I don't travel often so I had no idea. I had to find another hotel and used a HOLIDAY INN in Cary,NC (5 minutes away) which Amen was so clean, super friendly staff. Breakfast was good. The charge was 99.00 less that Comfort Inn. I even had an incident where I booked for an extra night and had to cancel and they had no issues. Again book with this COMFORT INN AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
Very nice clean accommodations. Competent friendly staff.
Location was secluded very quiet No vending machine
My boyfriend and I loved the location. It was really close to everything in Cary. We also loved the room, it had a full kitchen and living room and balcony. Absolutely amazing. The staff was very polite. Everything was just so perfect! We didn't like that by 4-5pm the building was shading the pool.
Room was very clean, spacious, and very affordable via Kayak. We saved over $150 for a 2 night stay with Kayak. Hot breakfast was out of service on one morning.
I really appreciated the friendly and knowledgable front desk staff. They were very professional and helpful throughout my stay. I loved they layout of my room and the pool(even though I couldn't enjoy it) looked amazing and the people in the pool looked like they were having tons of fun! Can't say there was anything I didn't like.
If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of Cary/Raleigh, but want easy access to shopping and dining, this is a perfect location. The hotel was majestic from the outside pulling in, and the lobby/dining areas were the same. Very classy. The room was a king suite, complete with full small modern kitchen, spacious living area, very comfortable and clean bed in the bedroom (which was slightly on the small side), and the room had a romantic vibe to it. The only thing less than ideal was the free breakfast included. It was mediocre at best.
Plenty of space in a suite to have people meet after dinner. Very clean! Bathrooms were a bit small and dated but clean and functioned flawlessly.
The location was great. When we arrived to check in at 3 p.m., we were told that we'd have to wait 30 more minutes. We left to get an early dinner and came back 90 minutes later. Our room still wasn't ready. We were able to check in at 4:50 p.m. Then the air conditioner in our room didn't work and when that was fixed, it made such a loud noise we asked to change rooms the next morning. We were not able to get much rest with all of the noise. They accommodated that, but we had to take a room with a full size bed instead of the king like we had, and then the air conditioner in that room didn't work, so we had to call maintenance. While laying out by the pool, the workers were painting the building with their radio blasting and them talking, talking, talking, singing, etc. The three days we were there, there were cut tree branches in piles around the patio. What a mess. The hot tub at the pool was out of order as well. It wasn't enjoyable at all. We couldn't wait to leave.
Overall the facility was great in a desired location with plus size on the amnesties I don't know where to start about the staff. Lady was rude upon check in. Then when I get to the room it was not what I had booked. Took over an hour to come to understanding and still didn't get the room I booked. I will never stay here again
2 bedroom suite worked well for father and daughter in town for a multi day swim meet (requiring afternoon rest by the swimmer). Mattress was fine. Absolutely nothing plush about the space. Bedding was sad. The layer above the sheet (I can't call it a blanket) seemed like a thin mattress pad. It was soft. The coverlet had to be flammable. Both were only about as wide as the bed making it challenging for 2 people sharing the bed to have covers.
Love staying at Embassy Suites, the omelet bar for breakfast and the large suites make the brand a good value for the money. Right off I-40 so easy to get around the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area. Complementary airport shuttle (runs every 30 min). Quick walk to a strip mall with a bar and restaurants in it. Plenty of parking. The indoor pool/hot tub/sauna was a good place to relax. The rooms are starting to feel dated with the wallpaper border around the top of the rooms and the color palette was similar in vibe. The pool water level seemed a bit low since the water couldn't get into the side drains but was otherwise fine. Wish they didn't charge for wi-fi.
I liked the quality of up-keep and customer service was great. The transportation to and from the airport is convenient and breakfast here was delicous. I didn't like the comfort of the mattress and the older fashioned styles, but everything else made up for it.
The breakfast was better than most. Beds were comfy. Clean and spacious room with sitting area. Very adequate space in the lobby to hang out with a friend. Good central location. Internet speeds in the room were disaster. So frustrating for a Hyatt. I might expect that in a lower quality hotel. One front desk staff guy was weird. I asked how far the airport was and he said 3 kilometers. I asked how far that was in miles or minutes in the shuttle and he said, "Oh, Americans." What? We are in America. Free coffee was put away after breakfast. Most nice hotels keep that available during the day.
Nice size well designed rooms with comfortable beds. Modern and clean. Breakfast not good. Tough as leather pancakes.
Renovated rooms. Great breakfast Bathrooms were older and the A/C was right next to the bed, blowing directly on us all night without a choice
Clean, good breakfast. Our second stay was during the US Open and we were treated suspiciously the entire time we were there. My husband and I are in our late 30s and early 40s, but I felt like I was treated like a partying 18 year old who might break something.
Modern decor throughout. Very pleasing to the eye. The lobby is very chic too! Way to go, SHS! You exceeded my expectation. Nothing
New, clean, quiet, friendly. Room was nicely designed.
The bathroom was amazing. The room was clean and the furnishings very trendy. The breakfast area was a bit crowded but other than that no.
Staff and room The breakfast food line was long...no food....no plates....terrible.....need new way of serving...only put a little out and wait again for more
It had the best bed and pillows I have ever slept on!
The rooms were very clean and had beautiful bathrooms. The free cookies at check in/check out were a nice touch. There were no free travel amenities. When I asked guest services for q-tips I was told they "are available for purchase" at the small store in the lobby.
Upon arrival we find out that are unavailable because they have no more king suites available. They told us that they found one available and we went up to our room. Once we unpacked out things and before we planned to go out for the evening we go to take a shower and we realize that the room is a handicapped room and the shower is extremely uncomfortable. I paid $130 for a nice romantic room to spend the weekend in Raleigh with my girlfriend for our first Valentine's Day. I was extremely dissatisfied with how the situation was handled. I would like a refund on my room due to the fact that the reservation was humbled by Doubletree Hot I would like a refund on my room due to the fact that the reservation was humbled by Doubletree.
Staff was very friendly, suggested we stay upstairs, rooms were much nicer. Everything I asked for was received, such more pillows, more coffee for my room. Internet was excellent, good quality. Needed copies and fax machine, needs were met free The staff recommended we stay upstairs, rooms were much better. I cannot get up steps well so stayed on lower level. The room was in severe need of a deep cleaning! Hair was in the tub, dirt piled behind nite stand and beds
The bed was very comfortable and the TV was nice. The hotel was very worn out. They are remodeling but until that is done, I would not recommend. Everything was dingy, stained and felt dirty. The remodeling was happening a few rooms away and they kept up banging, talking in the hall till 11:30pm. BAD!
The staff was extremely helpful and typified southern hospitality. The room had an HD television with a good selection of channels including HBO and kids' stations. Also had free wireless internet in the room, a big help when traveling with a small child. The hotel decor is a bit tired and dated but they are in the middle of remodeling it so that should improve as time goes by.
