The restaurant was closed throughout my stay in the afternons & evenings for what I consider flimsy excuses (weekends, public holidays). This was difficult for a family visit; had to go outside to get lunch & dinner. If you go there, don't do it on a weekend or public holiday!
very kind service, and convenient location near to train station the wifi connection was slow, and not stable enough. Maybe this hotel is newly built, the smell was stongh, make my firends allergic
It was close to the shops and restaurants and it was a comfortable nice place to stay. Staff were polite and helpful.
Hotel staffs are sincere and helpfull to sort out the trouble which we had, (bad noise in a room), so despite few negatives it was not bat stay after all. It seems hotel has not finished the renovation, we complained the noise in our room and few broken sign etc were quite embarrassing as I was taking my cliant to there.
The hotel needs remodeling. Lots of things are falling apart. The Restuarant needs improving. Service and selection is poor.
near to the train station tiny room
Walking distance to the center. The shower was not so cleaned, maybe cause too old.
Services, friendly people rooms were dirty
Would have liked a safe either in room or at front desk
well- located, friendly helpful staff the bathroom was like one in a submarine-tiny!, minuscule room had barely enough room for 2 people to move
the parking was secure, staff were friendly and helpfull;the hotel was well positioned it rained
Cheep & Clean Room too Small & Bathroom far too small
Location to the train station is convient if only staying one night. Bit far to walk into the city of Bordeaux from the hotel. Also the whole hotel is boat themed. The rooms are trying to be a cabin on a ship but it is just tacky.
i liked the breakfast (buffet). Location was good as it was right next to the tram stop. Small room and bathroom.
Very close to transport system to central Bordeaux
Nice and helpfull staff Location - not a nice nabohood and far from city center.
Friendly and helpful staff
Staff were very helpful. Room was comfortable. We were even able to borrow a screwdriver to mend my suitcase handle. Being close to the station, it was a bit noisy at night, but we had chosen it on purpose because it was convenient, so we were not bothered by the trains. The breakfast was a bit more expensive than we expected, but it was excellent, with a good choice of food .
Staff and breakfast The room smelt of cigarettes
Perfect location for fast stay: close to rail station and next to tram station to bring you into the center very quickly. Staff very friendly. We could even leave our bags in the storage till midnight.
Lovely clean, fresh hotel very conveniently located to Gare du Bordeaux. Staff were very helpful and spoke fluent English. Parking is a little tricky.
Very helpful staff. The vibrant colour scheme.
Helpful staff. Nice breakfast! Steps away from St. Jean's tram station. Rooms are toooooooooo small! Specially since we were travelling with a 19 months old baby. Putting a crib in the room practically left no space for anything else!
The location near the Gare St Jean The noise from the street in the early hours of the morning
the hotel is convenient located directly oposit of the station. For a 2* hotel the decoration is up to date, nice and trendy; nothing oldfashioned. For the small price difference it's worthwhile to book the bigger rooms the double bedroom we booked had only toilet tools for 1 person. The reception provided those for the 2nd person directly upon our request
excellent location, friendly staff, clean rooms.
Its position for access to:- a) the Navette/Shuttle Bus to and from the Airport b) the Railway Station c) local Bus Services and Trams No. We enjoyed our stay and liked the hotel.
The location is just 50 meters from the train station. Inexpensive and relevantly quiet. The toilet door was scary and hardly sliding (after all a simple curtain could do better).
just few steps from St. Jean train station makes this a prefect tactical location. Car rental places are located on reverse side of the station. Hotel is located 25 minutes walking distance from city center. Tramway system works very well. A great place for budget lunch - a traditional brasserie called Bar-Cave is 10 minutes walking (2 tramway stops) from hotel. There is an excellent restaurant on the same street called la Tupiña that is not be missed! Room can get noisy at night if facing the gare.
Extremely friendly and efficient staff who made us very welcome The room was fine but the bathroom impossible due to size.I am over 6ft tall and my wife is recovering from two hip replacement operations and adopting a" side saddle" position was the only way we could use the toilet. The distance between the seat and the partition in front(18cm approx) is totally inadequate. What a pity at such a well run hotel!!
Good location in front of the train station, this may explian the more expensive price compared to equivalent hotels / Bon emplacement en face de la gare, ce qui doit expliquer le prix plus élevé comparé aux autres hôtel équivalents. No Internet until the very last minute before leaving the hôtel, it was obvious that the hôtel network was down and was not reliable. This is bad when you need this for working and a good Internet access is a key criteria for me. Single rooms in the back have no view at all / pas d'accès Internet jusqu'au départ. Dommage quant c'est un critère de choix d'hotel. Les chambres simples a l'arrière n'ont aucune vue.
Comfortable room and clean bathroom. Train station and Tram stop in front of the hotel. Not so clean carpet in the room. Having to leave the room key at the reception every time you go out.
The hotels were simple yet comfortable. Clean hotel and very friendly and helpful staff. Location was great for us as we were leaving at 5am from the station which is located opposite the hotel. However the city centre is a short tram ride away.
Central site in city- very convenient Bedroom furniture rather basic En-suite shower-room/toilet very small
Rooms were accessible when we arrived before the check in time. Very helpful staff. The facility to leave luggage after we checked out until our train left was very much appreciated. Bar and restaurant were closed the evening we arrived. Had we known this beforehand, we might have chosen another hotel.
Very near from the train station, clean and confortable! Breakfast not included in the price
Cleanliness and good location for travelling on the train
the client is pretty good and helpful for tourist. room is small but cozy. hotel is next to the train station, convenient for tourism instead of business price is a little high for this style. but anyhow, it is next to the station and save a lot of trouble by taxi.
The staff was extremely friendly, especially Belen. The shower was week, water was hot but not enough pressure and weight.
Modern clean rooms with very comfortable beds. Very close to station and only a 5 minute tram to the centre of town. Friendly welcoming staff. No safety deposit box.
The room was lovely and the staff were extremely welcoming. The only possible things I could say is that there was construction nearby that we could vaguely hear and that there was a lot of dog poo on the ground near the hotel entry but I understand these are outside of the hotel's control.
location and quiet during night transparent doors of shower, ironic non really professional staff
Good price and good location
Right opposite the train station
location near train station
Opposite the railway, train & tram station The hotel room was not cleaned well
very simple, friedly staff, excellent location. good value for money. if you need a simple night stay, a stone throw from the train station - excellent pick.
Good location, and it's really a good deal for solo visitors.
The hotel was exactly what we were looking for, convenient for our transfer point, clean, efficient and very pleasant. The staff was most helpful. None at all!
Ibis Styles Bordeaux is extremely close to the rail station, and easy to find. Although it is clearly a budget hotel, I found the bright colors and decor charming. My room was quiet and comfortable, although, as others have noted, not large. Staff were all pleasant (and also kind and patient as regards my weak French). The included breakfast is exceptional, with a good espresso machine to use, a juice press, many pastries and breads, fresh fruit, and cold cuts and cheese, yoghurt, etc. The bathroom seemed really too tiny, and a bit scruffy.
The close proximity to the train station My room was not ready on arrival. The tariff I was charged was significantly higher than the tariff advertised at the hotel. Half of the lights in the room did not work. The bathroom shower had no splash screen so water was everywhere. The pillows were so flimsy that they did not even cushion your head.
Good location, right next to Gare St Jean railway station Room was very basic, no airconditioning, the front room we had was very noisy because of the fountain , and there were very bright lights outside, which meant we had to close the curtain, so no breeze
Location We were allocated a room without a window, a glass door that opened onto a public ourdoor walkway and the door between the bedroom and the en suite bathroom had been removed
Across the street from the gare. No ascenseur (elevator)
Location, rate Parking is challenging, no elevator for luggage
Convenient for Train ,tram, carhire. Street noise at front.
i liked the cosy country style. it is definately not a chain-style hotel. When there was a problem with the curtain, the staff came promptly and fixed it. I also liked that the standard check-out time was noon. Great location near the train station but still quiet (we had a room looking into the back courtyard). there were some fixtures that were not in great shape...the toilet paper holder was coming out of the wall, and as mentioned above the curtains came off the rod.
Hotel is near the main Bordeaux railroad station, tram/bus to the city center is close. Room is not very big but clean and very cozy. Staff was friendly. Free tea and coffee have been provided by mornings. While the front window looked at railway station square, the fountain masked the usual noise and made the very comfort feeling of "rain outside" :) The wi-fi service was quite unreliable and the price might be lower for this sort of "sleep-only" place.
Quiet, yet central location in Bordeaux
Polite hotel staff, comfortable room, although very small no closet or storage for clothing, hotel not very clean or inviting
Very convenient to train station and city tram. Clean and comfortable. Great value for exploring Bordeaux as a budget traveller.
Clean, quiet and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Nice staff. Marked it down because no lifts and had to carry our heavy bags up three flights of spiral staircase.
location -hot water-heating The hotel was trying to increase the agreed internet price
Good location, nice staff and cheap All was fine
Reasonably priced/value for money, clean, not noisy, handy for trams into the city. Surprised to be asked to pay day-by-day, almost impossible to park even though parking is mentioned on the website.
Nice small hotel and good breakfast.Convenient location. Friendly staff. The refrigerator did not work in the room. The tv-set could not handle hd programming, so half of the channels were not available.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The room I stayed in was small and rather rundown - clean but shabby.
It was a short walk from the train station and the breakfast room in the basement was cheerfully decorated. The room was tiny and the bathroom lighting was very dim. fOOTSTOOLS were used as end tables.
Close to the train station, okay neighborhood, desk person offered helpful advice for local restaurants, good petit dejeuner.
Super close to the train station. Were able to accommodate us on a very last minute reservation. Left very easy instructions for us as no one was actually on site when we arrived. Let us store our luggage while we went out for a bite. Could use more supplies- i.e. toilet paper and blankets for a larger group.
Clean and central to the city Argument over a cancellation in which we were in the right but no apology
