Standard SUV

Car was defective. Nothing was offered to compensate for inconvenience other than “sorry…” Not planning on returning here.

Pros:

Nothing. Complete disappointment.

Cons:

When they see you are a Kayak/Priceline customer there is NO customer service. The little I saved by going thru them they literally screwed me with the insurance. You can pay for the car at the counter but NIOT the insurance! You are not told that up front. The staff was most unhelpful. They never showed me tthe car or went over anything - no time for Kayak/Priceline customers at all!

Supplier choice

When I went to pick up the car, I was asked if I had just made a reservation shortly before I arrived to pick up the car. I let them know that I had made the reservation over 24 hours in advance. It appears they were short on vehicles. I filled out the paperwork and waited for the car. The car was absolutely filthy inside and out. Bird droppings all over the car and very dirty otherwise. Inside was not much better and I myself had to take time to clean the inside. Hertz quality is apparently declining. They used to be the "premier" auto rental. I guess that is no longer the case. Sad. Very disappointed.

I rented the vehicle for a trip out of state. When I rented it, I called in to ask about the cancellation policy because there was a potential that the trip might not happen. I was told that as long as I canceled 24 hours prior to picking up the vehicle, there weren't any charges. When I had to cancel the rental, I was told that wasn't correct and they had to bill me $50. Sounds kind of dishonest to me.

Pros:

Drop off was on day office closed and was easy. Just write down mileage, date and time returned. .

Cons:

Office closed at 5pm and pick up was scheduled for 5pm. When I got there a little late due to lack of signage for pick up and traffic, they were closed and it cost me a day of vacation. No number to call or anything. When I called Hertz, it went to National line and they wouldn’t help me because I booked through Kayak. When I went the next morning to pick it up, I mentioned it to the counter person and she was rude about it and not concerned.

Pros:

car was comfortable and had nice features and was maintained well

Cons:

car was dirty smelled like cigarete smoke could not see our of of windows called customer service multiple times with no resolution charged me for an extra driver even though inhave triple a and when i went to drop car off the lobby was closed so i couldnt even talk to anyone about the issues we had either
