Pros: Car was nice, clean and good value for what we paid
Cons: We waited 90 minutes in line for our rental, when we dropped off they had no record of the rental and spent 30 minutes back in line

A far better value at other companies
Pros: We ended up paying alot for a little car, poor options. We even decided to turn the car back in and rent at the neighbouring company to save a bunch of $$$. We were renting from the other company when a lady was upset with Hertz because her car ended up being more expensive at the counter than what she was quoted originally.

Wait time bad but car nice.
Pros: Car was clean and seemed new. Car drop off was very easy.
Cons: Huge wait to time when we picked up our car, despite having a reservation and having partially pre-paid.

Hertz still #1!
Pros: Quick and Convenient. Excellent Service. Close to Baggage Claim.
Cons: Rental Car was a bit further away on the row of cars but within walking distance.

Car in poor condition, bad customer service experi
Cons: (1) Computer problems extended my time onsite (2) Car smelled like cigarettes (3) External scratches/dings everywhere - is there a point to writing up every single scratch when the car has so many that I can't count them all? (4) back tires had low pressure and the Hertz employee knew - tire pressure sensor was going off the entire time I had the car

Cons: Location of facility in relation to airport. $9.99 a gallon if vehicle not brought back full. No cruise control.

Hertz, Scam Alert!
Pros: Hertz changed reservation to an off airport location without transportation from airport and then charged $50.00 for reservation cancellation! Total scam , never Hertz again!

Pros: Car was waiting for me at the Charleston airport as promised - gassed up and ready to go.
Cons: Keys were given to me and then the agent said, "You are number 92, and your car is out there." "Out there" was in the dark, it was raining, and there was no one to show me the basics of the car. Once I found the lights, the seat adjustment lever, etc. all was well, In all my years of rentals, no agent has ever failed to escort me to the car and explain basics. I was not impressed.

Misleading location by Kayak/Rentalcars.com
Pros: The car provided by Hertz was good. It was ready, clean and a good value.
Cons: The pickup location that was advertised as "at the airport" was in fact 8 miles away. This cost us a $40 cab ride to the location which was almost half of the cost of the rental car. We were able to use Uber on the way back which was only $15, however the unexpected cost was more than half of the rental cost.

Cons: The car was clearly not cleaned when I received it, but I was in a hurry and did not have time to remedy this issue. It smelled like cigarette smoke, had ashes ok over the dashboard and even burn marks on the roof of the interior!

Pros: Great car great gas mileage
Cons: Our phones died half way though our trip with GPS running. Unfortunately, the power stations in the car didn't work.... SO we had to go buy a map and manually navigate the entire way in the middle of the night.

Frustrated but at peace
Pros: The people at the Hertz rental office were really nice and helpful.
Cons: Kayak should specify that this rental location is NOT at the airport. We had to pay over $20 for a taxi to this Hertz location. There is a Hertz counter at the airport and we weren't able to utilize them. It was a little frustrating.

Great start but bumpy end
Pros: The car had bluetooth and decent gas mileage (Toyota Corolla) and I was able to book the rental the night before after a canceled flight with no problems.
Cons: The attendant for Hertz at Reagan airport wouldn't allow me the option to leave and fill up the car tank. When I asked her how much it was for having Hertz fill up the tank, she ran my credit card, handed me the receipt and told me $9.99/ per gallon and said its too late to fill it up myself since she already charged me. I was able to call Hertz's 800 number and receive a "one time courtesy" refund for part of the charge which totaled $50.

Pros: Hertz's customer service over the phone was very accommodating. I was able to switch dates and location with ease and no extra cost or the change. I drove the vehicle for 430 some miles (7 hours) and only needed to fill the gas tank on return.
Cons: The vehicle tended to bear to the right a bit when driving, but I think a quick check to the vehicle would fix it. It also had 33,000 miles on it. Nothing to do with Hertz, but when you book with Kayak, they should include insurance options, so you are not too surprised when you pick up the car.
