I rented a car for a week from the Green River road Evansville Indiana location and I was told by a rep that if I returned the car earlier than when my reservation ended I would be reimbursed for the days I did not use the vehicle. I returned the car on the 3rd day of my rental and I was charged the full amount. If I would have known I would be charged the full amount I would have let the rental sit in my driveway for 4 more days. I told that to the person I returned it to and she said yeah that would be smarter "but there is nothing she can do about it now" because she had already processed the return. I asked if there was someone else I could speak to and she gave me customer services number. I called customer service on Monday (11/8) and they told me they could adjust my bill to the daily rate for a compact car but they could not do the refund until I was fully charged so to call back after Wednesday. I called back Friday (11/12) and they are now saying my bill should be even more than what I paid for it. If that was the case why would it make any sense for them to tell me to call back so I can be charged even more for returning a car half a week early so Hertz can benefit from charging me the full week and charging whoever else they rent it to that day. I am very unhappy with the misinformation I was given and how I was yanked around and wasted my time. I want to be reimbursed for the 4 days I did not use the rental car which is over half of my rental agreement. This is deceitful and Hertz is now able to use the vehicle for other customers that I returned early only at a cost to me. I am very unhappy with how I was treated as a Gold Plus Rewards member. I will not be using Hertz again.

Ryan in Evansville was amiable, attentive and helpful - super great guy!! But the pickup and return was a pain in the butt!! I'll be returning to Evansville for the next few years, but I won't use Hertz unless it has an airport presence.

It was "crunch" time to drive 7 hours to Northern Ohio for a Funeral Showing and Burial. I told the Hertz Representatives while there, my problem. They WERE FAST in doing my Paperwork, and made SURE I understood the charges. I asked to fill the Van with my belongings and they said "SURE, we'll get this done, and you pack your stuff, the Van's fueled up, and all set." They were fast, professional, and QUICK understanding my need(s). THANKS Evansville Hertz, you were helpful AND amazing!!!! sincerely, David E. Fitzgerald

They had a good selection of cars that you can drive. They were up-to-date cars that were new and clean.The idea that you had to have a $200 deposit that was not mentioned until you got to the Hertz counter

rules of car rental included "no smoking"Rules of car rental were stressed upon check-in along with cleaning fees associated for smoking or pet in the car. My mother had just been hospitalized and I was in a hurry to begin my 310 mile trip. The car smelled rancid but I didn't have time to do anything else. I drove with windows cracked open and at times all windows all the way down. Very strong cigarette smoke permeated the car. Obviously it had not been cleaned enough after the last rental. Upon return of the car and discussion with Mgr, a discount of one day's rental was refunded. Cars that smell like that shouldn't be on your lot!!!

Great value and car.Too much time trying to upsell to different car and services. No time demo car features. We never did fully understand the cars sound system, had to pull owners manual for cruise control operation, lot of dash board info displays but did not take time to review owners manual to learn how to use. Brief demo of such functions would add value.

Easy Rental ProcessKayak app was easy to use. Hertz people were friendly, inform, and helpful.Walking out in the snow to the end of the parking lot to get the vehicle. No big deal, just not convenient.
