Staff Alex was not pleasant at the Hayward Mission Blvd office, kinda rude and condescending. Didnt even show us the features of the van. it woukd hqve been better if they rented the actual car they advertise on their site.

The car drove well and was a gas saver.I was not allowed to drop the car off at a different location. It needs to be more clear that there is no option for that before it is purchased.

Not muchCar not ready on my prepaid reservation. Long wait for prep of replacement. Windows very dirty inside, lots of sun glare. They gave my car away to a walk-in saying I was "Late". Ridiculous, I pre-paid, my car should have been waiting for me regardless of when I showed up that day. At minimum they should have called if they thought I was not showing. Drop off, long wait time if you want to be checked in on the spot. understaffed.

I picked a Toyota rav 4 to reserve it online for only one way trip but when I got there in Hayward to pickup the Toyota RAV4 the lady said you are late & we cannot hold the vehicle after 1 hr of opening , so the lady offered 5 vehicles left to choose from , they are family vans & luxury cars , they are more money to rent , on the spot had to pay more to rent the vehicle. Picked up the van it was dirty . I paid $163. Just for one day rental plus refundable $200. For insurance. Quite expensive if I say wouldn’t u think . I asked if there was a discount, the lady said no . So is it my fault because I am an hour late to pick up the car? They did not mention in their website to pick-up on time and they will not hold the vehicle. Really, I had such a horrible experience with this company. I don’t recommend to anyone.

Guys were professional and quick, and the car was in a very good condition. The office was closing at 6 pm, so I had to run for pickup and speed for dropoff :) Though, to be fair, the ladies and gentlemen in the office were willing to stay a few minutes after.

Top tips for renting a car in Hayward

  • Car rentals in Hayward allow reliable and punctual access to areas that do not have public transit options, such as the shores of San Francisco Bay. Travelers that are hoping to explore the famous City by the Bay will appreciate the privacy and convenience of their own vehicle. If you have difficulty walking up and down steep hills, Hayward car rentals allow you to experience aspects of San Francisco that you might not otherwise see, such as the famously hilly Haight-Ashbury district. If you want to experience a ride across the Golden Gate Bridge, a rental car provides that opportunity.
  • The two major airports near Hayward are Oakland International Airport and San Francisco International Airport. The closest is Oakland International Airport, which has a Rental Car Center shuttle to bring travelers between the terminals and their vehicles. At San Francisco International Airport, the Rental Car Center is accessible from every terminal via the AirTrain Blue Line, an automated people mover.
  • As one of the largest suburbs of San Francisco and Oakland, the city of Hayward has many similarities to these Bay Area powerhouses, including driving recommendations. Many people in the Bay Area ride their bikes to work, or simply for pleasure, so you will need to be constantly aware of cyclists. Check your mirrors and blind spots before making any turns, especially when you are turning across a bike lane. When you are parking, double-check your mirror before opening your door to ensure you are not blocking a cyclist who is riding in the lane next to your parking spot.
  • Hayward follows the rush hour patterns of San Francisco and the greater Bay Area, with rush hours ranging from around 7am to 9am and 5pm to 7pm. Hayward is also occasionally socked in by the famous San Francisco fog, which demands cautious driving and slow speeds. Turn on your headlights, but not your high beams, as this does nothing but illuminate the fog even more and reduce your visibility while blinding oncoming drivers. If you are planning to drive into downtown San Francisco, plan your route in advance and pay attention to street signs, as you do not want to end up going the wrong way down a one-way road. Control your speed as you climb up or down the steep hills and keep an eye out for trolleys.
