I was not aware that Hertz requires a credit card to rent anything above car. So when I showed up the day before vacation I could not rent the mini van. So it was not a great start to vacation. Even when I called to verify my rental three days before Hertz said nothing about having a credit card that a debit card would not work. I will never use Hertz again. And will tell everyone that even though debit card which is linked to a checking account it doesn’t matter. Rental cars.com was no help either. What should have been simple and easy which I have done in the past was horrible stressful and I will go back to enterprise from now on directly. I may never use a third party vendor for rental again.

Drop-off was super easy. They let us use their lot to leave our car.They could have ensured the car they were giving had been properly cleaned. We received a car that had a plummet of cigarette smoke and with my wife having asthma that was hazardous.

Didnt mention the additional 200 dollar required deposit. Had to open an escalated ticket to get the refund. The guy at the desk was no help at all.

The vehicle was so loud, I had to turn the radio's volume as high as it would go to hear it. I traveled for 12 hours in that state. It was an extremely unpleasant trip! I am now unsure if I should use Hertz in the future!

TerribleNOTHINGThey gave my rental away at the last minute. I have never encountered this in my entire life. I let them know I wasn't sure what time I would be in, as it was an emergency situation, and that I would put a deposit down if need be. They said it was fine, as long as I was in before 5 my reservation would be held. I get there, ready to hit the road, and they said they gave it away (and they weren't very nice about it). I said it was fine, and that I'll take another vehicle, to which they replied "we don't have anymore vehicles." A car lot full of vehicles, and they couldn't hold mine, or give me another one? First and last time I use Herts, Enterprise saved the day again!
