They told me the Jeep Cherokee class I booked 3 hours prior was no longer available and told me my only option was to upgrade to a Dodge Durango for an additional $54.00 + taxes per day. After telling me this was my only option I said I will take it but I am writing bad reviews, he then said he was denying my rental. I was hesitant to book through them due to my great experiences through Enterprise as it was. I ended up with a Dodge Durango at Enterprise for less money. I now see all the bad reviews about this company and wish I looked before booking. They have 2 stars on Yelp! That is really bad!

Woman at the counter gave me poor advice about needing a transponder for toll roads. She asked where I was going and after I told her she said it would be no need to rent a transponder from them. Within minutes of getting off airport property I was already on a toll road and there’s a five dollar surcharge per entry onto a toll road.

At pick up the car first offered had a defected drivers seat belt, i was then offered a different vehicle which wasn’t suitable due to odd seat configuration. When i pointed out that it wont be able to acomodate my family and luggage due to this, i was shown a cold shoulder and given excuses (without even standing up from the desk and looking for alternative vehicle). I found that very rude and lazy by the Sixt staff at Dallas airport.

Tire lost pressure. Tried to say there was a superficial crack on windshield which did not happen when I was driving. Upsold on an unlimited toll fee which ended up being a complete waste of money. Will not rent from them again.

We waited over an hour in line and the app to bypass the line gave me an error so we had to wait in line. Only three people working the counter and a mile long line. Also had to wait 10 minutes for a car after being sent to the parking garage. The car it’s self was nice! The drop off was a little confusing and the agent gave no information on how to get to the terminal!

The option to walk out and choose any vehicle is nice. They got us on the gas/fuel charge. The way it was explained and what was charged were two very different things. Speaking on the phone to a human is important to me and other people who travel. Work on that issue.
There were only two people working with a line of about 40-50 people which made wait times to receive the vehicle very long. The staff was very friendly considering the amount of people (many distraught customers due to flight cancellations late at night)

Car was very dirty and had not been cleaned. There was trash in the car, dirt and sand, even a half-full baby bottle with rotten milk in it. I was already running late from a late flight so didn't have time to complain to Budget. Poor quality control.

Had cracked windshield that probably made it illegal to drive. Lady at pick up with AVis name tag was less than polite.
I filled the gas tank up at the gas station across the street, however I was still charged for gas upon returning the vehicle, When I picked up the car, I heard another customer complaining about the same thing. They seem to be running a scan and saying that the cars are going out with 18.8 gallons of guess and coming back with 17.

As I returned the car, a fuel charge was added and billed to my credit card. When I noticed it on me receipt I went to the front desk, waited 1 hour in line and asked them to remove it since I had chosen to refuel the car myself - on the agreement. It would be better to check the agreement first before cashing out the order. That way these mistakes aren't made.

The confirmation email sent to me stated to go to the Avis counter, which I did and after waiting for 40 minutes in that line, I was told Avis is only the after hours counter and I needed to go wait again in the Payless line. This was very frustrating. Drop off was super simple.

Waited in line for 2 hours to get to counter and then the agent sneered at me when I mentioned the wait. Gave me the wrong spot number (empty, no car), so I had to go back in and deal with the same agent again to get a spot number with a car in it. Also, the price changed from the reservation price and agent made up stories about tax rates to try to explain why. I never figured it out, but decided to just take the hit so I could get out of there.
My family and I flew to DFW once we got there, we got to the counter where the agent told us they did not have our rental.. The lady at the counter suggested to go and asked the other companies to see if they have a car similar to what we had reserved.. or our name will be placed on a waiting list but she didn’t know when a car will be available to accommodate the number of people we had.. We got on the waiting list and finally after almost 2 Hali’s we got a car .. I firmly believe i reserved a car once I get to my destination the car should be there.. After along fly all you wanted to do is get to a hotel and rest not wait at the airport.. My Family and I were not happy at all..

Unable to rent a vehicle without a credit card, and the desk representative said they were unable to change the name on my reservation to someone else in my party so we could meet this requirement. Ended up without my car overnight and having to rebook for the next day when the customer service team was open again since they weren't available at 10pm during my pick up.

I was charged specifically for the amount of time I would be using the vehicle. There was no one at the thrifty counter, I was redirected at the last minute to another rental counter that was servicing their own clients as well as thrifty. Which cut into the time I paid for. Then once I got through the incredibly long line, the car I was given was not entered correctly into the system, and needed maintenance. Causing me to spend even more time, having to take the vehicle back and get a completely different vehicle. This is not a one off. While waiting in line with the second vehicle, I then had to reverse along with everyone else in line, because the person(s) in front had some other issue that caused them to also have to return their vehicle at the last second. Utterly ridiculous.

My trip to Dallas was cancelled due to the recent Covid spike but I was unable to make any change to my reservation or cancel. Therefore I lost $500 and the rental went unused. Extremely surprised and unhappy that in these times there isn’t more flexibility. My last time using Kayak.
From the moment we walked up to the counter the gentlemen helping us was very rude and had an attitude towards us for no reason. Then when asked about the car we reserved he quickly cut me off and said, "yeah we won't guarantee the car you booked is here, you will just get what we have". We specifically had reserved and asked for at least a 7-seater due to our family size, he got an attitude and said "well you will just get whatever we have so if you have an issue with it I guess just follow me to the garage and you see can see for yourself." So we walked out (he actually walked very fast and completely left us behind). When we got to the garage, he showed us a Nissan rogue and when I said well that wont work he again cut me off and said Well that is the biggest car we have so I can't help you any further and started to walk away again leaving us in the garage. Then another employee came over and started laughing and called the employee over and said "man that's not even an L4" and pointed to another much bigger car and said, "that's the car they need bro". I thanked the other actual helpful employee and then the one who was originally helping us just got another attitude towards me and said whatever you can have that one then come back inside so we can finish your payment. By the time we got back inside I was frustrated to say the least, when I made it back to the counter the first thing the gentlemen said was okay and theres an extra insurance charge the cheapest you can do is $300 so you will do that one and we can process your payment I need your card. There was no explanation or anything it was just very rude and so I said forget it all and just walked away. I will never use your service at DFW airport again.

The Daytona Airport drop off was great. The Dallas Fort Worth airport pickup was a nightmare. The staff were amazing and very kind and gave me individualized attention and seem to genuinely care about the fact that they did not have enough vehicles to take care of them more than 25 people in line with reservations.

The service and car were wonderful. The only criticism is the insurance policies. My personal insurance will cover everything but loss of use. In order to get that coverage I needed to buy the most expensive coverage; that is, the full coverage. I think that this tactic for getting customers to buy full coverage is awful.

"Compact" doesn't or perhaps shouldn't mean sacrificing expenses on specific car items. For example, when my sister pulled down the passenger visor to fix herself, there was NO MIRROR! Crust!! Although this car got me where it needed me to get to--thank you!--it just seemed like a REALLY laughable car (on your part) that would WANT to force me to upgrade. Kudos (and smart on your part) to you if you intended for that! I had to choose this last minute car. That I got a card, I was happy. The price, however, was a heavy pill I HAD to swallow.

I arrived at the car rental center at the DFW airport. Many vendors sold out of cars upon walk up, including Alamo. Got online and checked your website. Found out Alamo had cars. Made reservation. Went to desk and asked why they did not offer any earlier and why the price had jumped significantly. Gauging at its best! I needed a car immediately. After a 30 min wait while the attendant went into the back room to “talk to his boss” he came back with a over priced economy car. Paid and left.

Alamo engages in shady business tacticsCar was clean and in good condition.Alamo refused to honor the terms of the contract that we initially established with them and for which they accepted payment (i.e. Fraud) because the reservation primary driver was not the person that paid the prepaid amount (despite that person being present, with ID and credit card used, at the time of pickup). They proceeded to establish a new reservation at a higher rate, refusing to honor the original rate (i.e. Bait & Switch) of the reservation. It took a significant amount of time with multiple customer service agents at both check-in and check-out to get them to abide by the original terms of the agreement. Very questionable business practices, I have to wonder how many other people who were not willing to go through the hassle of dealing with their byzantine customer service system have been overcharged because of this.

Great customer service!I had accidentally put in the wrong days to pick up my rental so there was just a little bit of an up charge. However since it took awhile to figure out why the was an up charge they have me a free upgrade in vehicle. They were super helpful and nice. Completely willing to help me out!
Awful experience… one of the drivers forgot their license… Enterprise said no problem, just go to any enterprise location and add the driver… several hours and two locations later no results. We had picked it up from the airport which was 30 miles away but if we were told only airport location could add drivers then we would have just gone back to it. Also, we’re told someone would call us if any issues. When we didn’t hear and called, we’re to had to go to airport. We get there next morning, delaying our trip by another few hours, only to be told it had been done already the day before. What a royal mess. They did offer to waive 15$ fee to add a driver though!!!

Customer Service at pick up tried every trick to upsell me including blatantly lying. Made re-book twice online or face paying in additional $70. Then he dropped it to $50, then $20. Then finally honoured my agreed upon price. Pick up could have been 5 minutes. Enterprise upsell tactics turned pick up into 45 minutes and me being late to an event.

Did not take possession of the rental. Rented from Advantage on site.Nothing.Long line. Rental price quickly doubled over agreed upon rate. Customer service reps had a terrible attitude so I went to Advantage and rented a car for half the rate of Enterprise.
I waited in line for an hour and they told me they did not take debit credit cards even though it had a MasterCard logo.

Toll hostage scam in TexasCar was nice and published price was low. Rental office was in the DFW airport.10 day rental and they tell me Texas tolls are unavoidable and impossible to pay while driving. So they offer/charge me $100 for a toll-pass so I won't have to pay countless $25 fines to EZ car for each $1 toll road I take. I'm upset with Texas and with EZ car rental for such a shady situation. I declined the $100 charge and am holding my breath for random charges.

This is for all car rental places in general.... The car rental industry still lacks the business approach to move people through quickly and efficiently. I know there are some programs for frequent users, but for the rest of us, it takes a long time to rent a car. There needs to be new and improved operations to move general travelers through with efficiency. The airports can do it, car rental companies should be able to as well.

Don’t go off-brand, even if you need a van.
