I rented a cargo van. The driver's door wouldn't seal all the way. The brake light kept coming on and I got a message that the brake pads needed servicing. When I arrived in FL I tried to trade it for one that was safe. Hertz told me to contact the nearest store to do this. None of the local ones would take it. The nearest place was over an hour away. I finally had to have it picked up (towed) and then rent something else. I do not blame the Hickory store, although they should have known that the van was subpar. This is a HERTZ problem.

Car was very clean, staff at Hertz friendly!I was lucky to see a poster about toll pass program, would not have known that I could drive through the e-z pass without stopping to pay. Would be good to consider final destination for customers to make sure they know those tips!

To actually get to pick up and use the truck that I rented...didn't happen...wasn't notified until 8:30am on the day of pickup which was supposed to happen @ 9am...30 minutes before pickup time, I am told the truck would not be available.

the staff made us laugh at the beginning and the turn in process was simple. Only bad thing is it's hard to see their location but once you know where it is, all is well.

The three women that worked there were spectacular. There was an issue with the car I got and they had it fixed and ready to go super fast.Price for weekly rate. Usually weekly rate is cheapest and this time it was more. Not a crazy amount more but still sucked.

The lobby was clean.They did not have ANY vehicles! Clerk said she tried to call everyone the night before as they did not have vehicles then. I was not contacted. So the day of the scheduled rental, she called to have some vehicles brought down from a town 90 miles away. Why didn't they try to get vehicles the night before when they knew they didn't have any rather than waiting until the next morning. They opened at 8:00 am and I would have had to wait at least until 9:30-10:00 to get a vehicle. I was on a tight schedule and could not wait so I cancelled. Too late to cancel the insurance so Im out that money. Thanks Hertz for such a crappy day!
