Heather was so helpful when we rented the car. She even accommodated us when we wanted to change to an all wheel drive car at the last minute. She was nice and knowledgeable and truly made the whole process easy when we were in a stressful situation.

The car smelled like pot when we first rented it. We could not get the smell out. When We got stuck in a snowstorm in North Carolina, the company tried to charge an exorbitant/ gouging amount about the price the price of the for the rental for one extra day simply because we had to change airports when our flight got canceled and extend for an extra day. terrible service with horrible quality control, I will never rent from budget again again.

Tires were bald I chose an SUV because I had an Air B and B in the mountains we got snowed in and could barely get out on our return date because the bald tires had no traction in the snow. Budget also wanted 400 to extend the car by one day and 200 if I missed drop off by more than an hour. They also do not let you drop off at another location without a 300 fee made it extremely complicated after our flight was canceled when we returned the car and had to rent another one in charlotte from ashville a $150 Uber to get to charlotte to be charged $450 to get home and for a 1 day rental. Very poor I was told that because I prepaid they could not extend the contract without a steep penalty. I will not use budget again.

Had trouble picking up car rental the person that was helping was say they couldn't take my card . To pick up the car and said it keep denying me . I told him even though I already paid for it I can't pick up the car the guy that was helping didn't even know I already paid for it and was trying to charge me again for it.......

Our first trip to Asheville, the inside office was nice and personnel were friendly. What could have been better? I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the vehicle. While I had it, I personally had it washed, wiped, and vacuumed twice before returning the Jeep Compass. Without a driver's floor mat, I was concerned of an extra charge being attributed to me. I treated this vehicle like my own, and returned it in much better condition than received. (And I have $45 in car was receipts to prove my claims are valid.)

Should have informed my husband of a credit card hold of over $800 and he was very agitated when he saw two separate charges appear on his banking app I had to call and have it finally explained to me his wife as he was in the hospital

The Budget counter was very convenient - right next to baggage claim. I was only the second person in line so I was seen timely. The agent failed to tell me about the extra $200 hold that was placed on my credit card account, however. While the inside of the car was presentable, the outside had not been cleaned.

The staff at the airport was uncooperative and when I asked if I could change the drop off location the person at the counter made a point to be short and was not helpful. I also asked about adding another driver and he seemed annoyed at my questions. Because of this I canceled my reservation and booked at the counter next door. He told me that I would still be charged for the day if I switched in a manner that was intended to scare me than in making any effort to be helpful. but once I made the other reservation he was able to refund my money.Better customer service at the counter.

Staff was great! Second time we have rented from the same location. Got the managers special which at first was a shock...not a car but a truck!! That was the only vehicle they had available. I use a cane and had to step on my suitcase to get into the vehicle. Ended up being a very comfortable ride and so easy to drive. It ended up being a great ride with grand kids too!

The staff was pleasant at pick up. Although I did not get the car I expected, I was thankful I got a car because other travelers who reserved a car ahead of time were told, there were no cars left????I chose to reserve a car that was listed as managers special, and was under the impression that I would get at least a intermediate size car, I got I dirty Ford Focus, looked like it had not been sanitized and the carpet was dirty under the seats, center console was dirty, but since the counter agent was saying that was all they had available, unless I wanted to pay more - what recourse did I have?

Fast and exceptional serviceOur flight was delayed and we got in pretty late. There was one woman working with quite a long line and got everyone in and out quickly with a warm smile and positive attitude. Helped to make a frustrating day so much better. I wish all agents could be like her.

get it togetherleaking tire needed to be filled with air every day- who sends a car out with a tire that leaks, given that the car itself gives an error message when it was turned on. inside of windows was filthy- had obvioulsy been wiped with a dirty rag. i could barely see - had to stop and buy glass cleaner

The car was comfortable. Got upgraded to a larger car for free which was nice.The car reeked of smoke even though there were “No Smoking” signs listed in the vehicle. When pointed out to a staff member, the reply was, “it happens, we don’t have control over that.” Not great. Also, there was no one at the Enterprise pickup counter. Took a long time to get ahold of a staff member for pickup.

When I picked up my car, I was offered insurance for the vehicle. Usually I get it, but this time it was ridiculously high! Over $40 per day...which was twice as much as the highest rate I'd paid in the past.

The airport at AVL is small and nice.I understand about the headache Covid-19 has created for all of us. Unfortunately when we got there, they had a Very small sign blocked by a pillar telling folks to merge with all the passengers at the National counter. Well we stood in line for no reason because we had to be at the National line and not the Enterprise line. Then the lady at the counter was nice but appeared she had no clue who we were and why we were there. Anyway, make the signs more obvious or placing them At a better location would help...

They tripled the rate. It was 28 when I rented online. They raised to 51 when I picked it up. I dropped keys in box as there was no one at kiosk when we dropped car off. They charged 150. I called and they dropped to 100. They said we dropped off at 4. It was 12 15. No one checked box till 4. Scammers. Usually its smooth and reasonable.

We booked the car for a week but our plans changed so we tried to modify the booking prior to arriving. We were unable to modify the reservation. When we arrived at the airport we were told they could not modify the reservation for us but it could be done when we returned the car. The car was dirty and smelled of cigarette smoke. The next day we tried to return the car and there was a line of people all the way to the baggage claim (only at Avis, not a single person in line at any of the other car rental counters). I waited in line as long as I could, it was barely moving, and my husband was calling from the terminal there were police everywhere and he was not allowed to wait for me any longer. I went to the front of the line looking for a key drop box. There wasn't one so I handed the key to the rep who was with another customer. We arrived home and called Kayak and Avis to get the charge refunded from the credit card. One rep hung up on us. Both companies told us it was the other company who was responsible for refunding us and nothing could be done to modify the reservation now. Only at that counter when returning. Ridiculous. After wasting at least 2 hours of our time and ruining our morning plans we finally got an answer that we would be charged nearly $300 for less than 24 hours of using this smelly, dirty, Kia vehicle. The rep was unable to tell us what the breakdown was for these charges and we would get a receipt emailed to us from Avis with the breakdown of the charges, which never arrived (shocker). The WORST car rental experience we have EVER had. We book from that airport all of the time -- never a single problem changing our reservation with the other car rental places. We will NEVER EVER use Avis again. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. They shouldn't even be in business SHAMEFUL

Friendly front desk lady.Someone was supposed to meet us at the car, he didn't and we found him wondering around the rental garage. Car was dirty inside and out, AIR CONDITIONING didn't work and only found that out the next day when it was 95f outside. Literally miserable driving around in it. No directions to drop off in Fayetteville, NC. No pre inspection so i filmed everything to make sure i wasnt blamed for how dirty the car was, even AFTER i paid to run it through a car wash. You think covid times would ensure a clean inside but finger prints everywhere, on the screen, dirt in the back seat, just gross.

Pickup in Fletcher was simply a disaster. No customer service, 60 minutes wait with only 3 other customers in front of us. Still Not sure if it was such poor lack of experience or inability to perform...? To top it of, attendant brings a car over for ‘easier’ access and brings the wrong car.Providing experienced employees or ones who are capable of performing simple tasks... Very very poor pickup experience.

Kayak makes it easy!Dropping off the car in Asheville was a non-event. I walked in, handed them the keys, they handed me a receipt and I was on my way. Rate was exactly what I had initially been quoted.

The dollar representative left before our plane landed although representatives for other rental companies waited for their customers to arrive. Horrible customer service. You have some nerve asking for my review. Another rental company helped us out by providing us with a car although we didn’t have reservations with them. Their service was impeccable!

Easy pick up and drop off at both Asheville and August airports. Friendly staff.When I asked the person at the desk if I had to have the car back by a certain time, he said it was a 24 hour rental so I had until the next day. Since I had put in a time when I booked it Dollar was expecting it in Augusta that evening and I was charged a late fee. Eventually they waived the fee.

Car itself was fine.We were unable to contact Dollar when we arrived at the airport using the published phone #. It took about 20 to 25 min, to get correct number. Car was off site. Shuttle was very slow. Off site was 1.7 miles from airport and there was lots of traffic. Poor directions from staff at time of pick up. Rental return was difficult due to off site status. In sum, very poor logistics leading to a mediocre experience.

This site reserved me a rental and took part of payment even though actual rental location was out of cars. I got charged but was stranded without a vehicle. Won't use this site again nor will I encourage others too

The man that handled the rental was nice and professional but was put in a horrible position by having no help and was taking about 20 minutes with each client and there was a long line. Seemed that most of the passengers from my flight rented planes. It was a very long exhausting wait in line. There was no one there to show you how to even use the vehicle or do a walk around.

Staff in Asheville was terrible. They ended up giving us the wrong car and we only found it out when we dropped it off in Jacksonville. Staff in Jacksonville as almost as bad. The car was also not cleaned before. Someone's old coke can was left in the car.Whatever you do, make sure you get a PAPER contract when you pick up your car. They said we didn't need one in Asheville and they just emailed it to us, but once we got to Jacksonville, Hertz acted like we should have had one and they treated us as if we were the problem with it not being there.
