The van we rented was dirty at pick up - also had a lot of nicks and dents - we told the rep I called he said he knew but we didn’t do a walk around together - told him about it being dirty said u should have called me but I had to go pick up my daughter- he didn’t even say we will give you 19 percent off - or a discount on future rentals or any kind of regret -

For context, I travel for my job and I rent a lot of cars. Please avoid this rental location and Budget as a rule. This rental location was some fly by night outfit that has no quality control with their vehicles and I honestly felt unsafe with the car provided, and went elsewhere. The rental office was filthy and smelled awful. One person working who didn’t know about inventory and realized they had one car left. They hand me keys and I walk to car. It was covered in bird poop. I open door and it was filthy. Stain covered seats, dirty floors etc. They don’t even clean cars or check for safety issues between customers! The vehicle was clearly not cared for and no way was I risking my family’s safety in that tin can on wheels. I returned keys and found another location and rental. Kayak should not be offering this rental company as an option as it’s a full on liability. Avoid for your own safety.

I rent cars a lot for work travel. This location was downright frightening and shady. The office was dirty and smelly, which is okay otherwise, but they didn’t even seem to know what cars were available or what condition. They randomly gave me a key for one car they had left. I go to this car and it’s covered in bird poop all over and the inside was filthy and has stain covered seats. The car didn’t appear to be safe or taken car of. Avoid this location. I won’t book on kayak again for a car as this place was not safe. I refused the car and went elsewhere.

Car had malfunction with rear sensor so it impacted my driving experience. Called location to notify but was put on hold. Decided to drive to the location instead and staff member seemed to overwhelmed to help and had me wait until he took another order first. Car had ants within and would occasionally pop up and bite my friends in the legs. Finally associate was able to turn off sensor and showed me how to deactivate it each time I turned the car on. Overall a hassle but the price was okay.

I reserved a pickup in the internet. When I showed up to pick it up there was no pickup. This caused me a lot of problems. If they didn’t have a pickup they should not have allowed me to reserve one. Staff was rude

The rental was dirty. Under the stowaway seats was filthy. I didn’t know how to operate the key fob, didn’t know you had to touch the fob to the start button. No one on the lot to help. The vehicle had minor damage on the passenger side that should have noted. Had to go back to the desk to have it noted. The desk personnel were friendly and helpful.

Pros:

I did not have to wait long to pick up my rental in Clearwater. The price was very good for a three day rental in a tourist area during peak season also.

Cons:

We had reserved a compact car, but when we got to the counter, the guy told me all they had was a pickup truck. It was nice and drove well, but was a little difficult to put our luggage in the back seat. We would not have had any room if we had a third or fourth person with us.

I was well taken care of, staff was friendly and nice. Went over the fees and procedures to avoid extra charges. No hidden fees the car was clean and drove really smooth.

Cons:

When I first got in the car it smelled like cigarettes.

The people were very nice, and helpful. The car was blowing white smoke Everytime I accelerate, which made me feel very insecure about reaching my destination since I was getting to a plane ad had no time to spare
