Pros:The people were friendly and (thankfully) spoke English. The "Large SUV" (a Suzuki Grand Vitara) met my needs perfectly although I originally got a smaller vehicle not realizing how small it was going to be. I asked if I could get a manual transmission and they did that for me too, which was great. The SUV performed great on dirt roads along the Guanacaste coastal region.
Cons:I opted out of insurance when I booked it, and that was probably a mistake. I think it was a lot cheaper if I had booked it online, and without this I had to buy there and it was almost twice the price of the car. That SUCKED.
We had an excellent experience, Ana Eugenia was exceptionnel. She delivered the car at our condo, came to the condo when the renewal was due. Could not be better serve.

Cons:When making the reservation online it was confirmed for $32. However, upon arriving at the airport and taking the shuttle to pick up the car - we were then told that there was a "mandatory insurance" that we had no choice but to take. (Even though I had specifically purchased 3rd party insurance, was fully insured through my auto policy, and had extra coverage through Amex). I was given the option of paying $503 total (including dealer insurance), or I could take the "minimum insurance" at a cost of $200. If we took the minimum insurance, it is also a required ONE THOUSAND DOLLAR DEPOSIT. Feeling like we were between a rock and a hard place, we opted for the $503 total instead of $232 + $1000 deposit, just so we could have more money to spend on vacation instead of depositing it with Enterprise.
Pros:car was new and clean
Cons:Car wasn't ready. We had to downgrade car size and wait 1-2 hrs for cleaning after first being told they were oversold and there were no cars and were out of luck. Kayaks price Did not include any taxes or mandatory insurance so the out the door price was over double the price quoted on kayak as well. Pretty frustrating!
Cons:Car cost 3.5 times my confirmed rate. They tried to charge me 5.5 and I said that's enough. Most of money extra was insurance and additional add ons such as license charge. Never had this experience before. Very low class!
Pros:4 wheel drive. Lots of room.
Cons:Guy at pickup was nice but was clearly trying to scare me into buying ecpensice insurance. Had to to ask many times before he gave me cheaper options
Pros:The rental company picks you up and drops you off at the airport.
Cons:The car I reserved, a Manual Toyta Corolla was not available. No GPS units to rent. Was threatened that only one car is available and if I don't take what is available it will be rented and I will have NO car to rent. The insurance cost MORE than the car rental, of course, we were NOT warned before hand and where surprised at the counter. Take it or leave it offer. Of course, we had to take it as no other cars where available. Online reserved the car for $305, in the end paid $785. What a rip off!
Cons:When we arrived they didn't have the car we reserved and then they made us take the additional insurance which I still do not believe is mandatory overall it was a terrible experience
The whole thing sucked from the get go The price started really good but was not honored by enterprise the pick up location changed nightmare all round
