6.0 Okay
Pros:car itself was ok. customer service was fine in costa rica
Cons:the insurance should be listed when you order the car. or at least provide an estimate. its unfair to blindside the consumer and charge them double. ridiculous as a matter of fact. and if only manual transmissions are available, that should be made clear also. i was stuck driving the entire trip because my girlfriend has never driven manual transmission
A
8.0 Very good
Pros:Airport transfer to rental car place and quick pick up.
Cons:The cost of rental went up more what I expected because of insuranc.
A
8.4 Very good
Pros:The vehicle was good, just as booked.
Cons:Location description is wrong. Listing says airport location for both pickup and drop off. Off location- drop off location was difficult to find.
A
5.2 Fair
Pros:The car was nice, but the price went up and up...
Cons:There were too many fees at the counter. They even charged us $40 for pickup/dropoff from airport which is like 2 minutes away...
A
5.2 Fair
Cons:I was quoted a price that was about half of what I paid. Good luck getting out of not buying insurance.
A
4.0 Mediocre
Pros:The car drove
Cons:GPS did not work and they would not refund the rental cost. Also you had to pry open the gas tank flap on the side of the car with a screwdriver to refill the gas tank. Car was a small SUV that felt in danger of tipping over on curves
A
2.0 Poor
Pros:Close to the airport.
Cons:- Car had 60,000 miles on it, scratches / dents - was old model Varis, no auto-lock, no power windows, no USB - brakes squealed (not loudly but were audible), radio volume broken - despite everything else analog, had discrete bar digital fuel display that dropped from 8 bars to 7 bars after 10km - so on top of $50 insurance / day (not the maximum available), charged $3.70/liter (!) or ~$14/gallon since the car came back 7/8 full as per the digital fuel gauge or around $35(!) tho I had filled the tank 20 km away which should be less than a liter - did not mention the $1100 hold they put on the car (apparently standard in Costa Rica with all rentals) - checked with Hertz after - tho they put the hold as well and their daily rate is higher, insurance is much lower. Could have got a great car for $250 or less for 5 days vs this lemon for $100 more. - worst ripoff in decades of renting cars - easily the worst car I've rented or even driven (and I had a used car as a student) - tho had passable experience with Budget before in the US, will now avoid them like the plague
A
2.0 Poor
Cons:We were lied to about the required insurance which ended up costing us close to $300 more than what our bill was supposed to be. I have gotten no where with Budget and will be appealing this through my CC company. NEVER AGAIN!
N
4.0 Mediocre
Slow pick up. Car not clean. Rust spots on hood
A
3.6 Poor
Pros:The car was fine mechanically.
Cons:Hard sell on buying supplemental insurance, charged for roadside safety net that I didn't request, overcharged on my credit card.
