Pros:Absolutely nothing
Cons:Arrived to find a line of car rental people with signs outside the airport. The guy asked for my name and found me on the sheet. He told me they didn't have my car and my choices wee I could take a taxi or I could go with another company. No discounts or same rates matched for the other companies. I ended up paying over three times as much for a downgrade. I called two days before the trip to confirm my reservation and confirm the car was there. There is no excuse for this treatment. Do not use hertz!
Lots of extra charges. Force you to buy excess unneeded insurance unless you have a letter from your bank. Scam and agents are paid on commission.

The car broke down in a middle of a trip, on the weekend. The "24/7" emergency support was completely unreachable until the afternoon of the following day.
Very good as usual. The shuttle to the airport was slow.
My reservation was not real. They did not have a car for me. Super unprofessional, I took my business elsewhere.
Cons:The rental price you see when you book your car does not include local insurance! Once you are there and they add it up it almost doubles the price!!!! If only I knew in advance i would’ve got a transfer! Staff was not friendly at all! And since you are already in their office ( in the middle of no where!) you have no choice but get the car.
Pros:By the time we arrived to Hertz in Costa Rica, we already purchased an insurance policy via Allianz, a reputable company that we have used for medical coverage as well. Hertz would not accept this policy and forced us to purchase their own at a higher value. From $99 to $245 dollars. I thought that was not acceptable and at this moment pursuing a reimbursement.
Pros:The car got us from place to place. Although it had no pep, it never broke down.
Cons:We had a car reservation for two months. Upon arrival at the Hertz rental counter in Liberia, Costa Rica, they told us "sorry, we have no cars". We had printed of the rental agreement and showed it to the agent, and it was still, "too bad". After getting a taxi to leave, they remarkably came up with a car. Two weeks later when we returned it, the price had gone from $248.00 as written on our rental agreement, To $700.00! They said my husband had checked that he wanted every insurance available. He explicitly denied all but the mandatory $105.00 insurance required in Costa Rica. They begin to act like English was no longer their second language.We are in process of negotiations with credit card company to obtain refund. NEVER rent from Hertz in Costa Rica. They are independently owned, and Hertz in the USA, will not be able to help you. We travel extensively and are members of Hertz gold club, but that did not help either.
Cons:Poor communication about the whole process, the insurance. Did not feel like they were looking out for my best interests after I was involved in an accident which was completely the other persons fault.
