space of the rooms sheet of the beds is not soft
clean rooms and very nice staff I had a room that was joined to another one...the people beside me were very loud, got changed to another room and then someone was moving the furniture in the suite above me. since it's an old house I am not sure it's got the proper sound proofing.
All in all a good experience. Even our group ordered two bottles of Don Perignon during every dinner it was a surprise to be told in the third night that it is no more. Even the personnel had a bad feeling about the situation.
Staff very helpfull - Concierge booked all dinner reservations for us which made life easier
Liked nearly everything The service around the pool area was a bit slow some days
Hotel is conveniently located, stylish (Florentine style) and quiet. Room was spacious with lots of space for clothing, etc. Moldy fabric on walls; didn't know about comlimentary breakfast.
Absolutely beautiful hotel in a great location. Service was exceptional. The pool was great after a long day walking around in Florence. Breakfast was very good. Upgraded room was a nice touch. Parking was a little expensive and not run by the hotel itself.
kind staff, cleanness, well internet service, nice hotel nothing
All staff that we met were were extremely friendly and courteous. Our Room was fantastic-spacious, comfortable with a wonderful view over the convent towards the hills. The outdoor pool was a joy and situated in delightful surroundings that was perfect for chilling during the day before heading into town-only 15 mins walk to Ponte Vecchio. I would gladly recommend. Disappointed that for the price we paid that it didn't include breakfast!!prices were very expensive-eg 18 euros for a ham/cheese toastie/12 euros for a btl of beer/glass wine/7.5 euros for a coke/water etc and that was just the snack menu!!However, the food bought at the hotel was very nice we would have eaten more at the hotel if prices had been more reasonable.Although we did find a lovely pattiserie where we were able to get breakfast with great coffee and only 2mins walk from hotel. Also the 'fitness centre' was disappointing-the gym was tiny, a mirrored room with odds and ends-equipment that was present was very dated.
very friendly service
Beautiful room, luxurious bathroom, very comfortable bed, very nice and helpful staff. Very quiet environment and therefore relaxing. The best hotel I have ever stayed at in 30 years of travel. There was nothing I did not like.
Quiet location, Senior bar, restaurant and porterage staff were excellent Management were not on the ball. Twice we complained about the smell coming from the waste pipe of the bath and nothing was done. Twice we returned to our room in the late afternoon and it had not been serviced. On the one evening we had dinner in the hotel there was a staffing problem and we (along with other guests) had to wait for ever for our food.
The room and the hotel interieur it was a little bit too outside
I felt at home. Your system with the lights.I guess if I had more time I could had trained myself to work them better.I think now that I am back home ,I have it figured out but too late.
Hotel was clean, staff were helpful & friendly. 30 min free wireless a day was useful. Close to train station and I liked the walk to the city centre (either along the river or the back streets which had quirky shops). Hmm the aircon was quite noisy (sounded like it was continuously raining) but it didn't worry me too much.
We arrived to a rude and dismissive front desk. They proceeded to tell us we couldn't stay in our room unless we paid 50 dollars more than what we paid with kayak. I said absolutely not. they said then we couldn't stay and they would still be charging us the full amount of the room. We left and did not stay there and now have to dispute these fraudulent charges with my credit card. Never stay here!!! Worst service ever!!!!
Outside looking of the building was nice, the fee was cheap as a 5 star.
The hotel was clean and elegant. Rooms and facilities were spacious and the service was excellent. The breakfast and gym were top-notch. The dinner, although good, was not as good value for money as I would have liked. Additional recreational facilities (spa, pool, biliard table, other) would have been a bonus.
comfort I would like the restaurant to have more choices on the menu Food could be a little better
The fresh squeezed orange juice at breakfast. The staff really helped when they changed our room. The first junior suite was a loft bedroom, hot and viewless. The second one was lovely It was a little too far from the center. You have to like to walk a lot. It was the most expensive one on our trip and we thought it was overpriced.
It is exactly next to the train station The night duty snoring officer sleeps on the sofa of the reception area !!!
close to train station poor breakfast quality
Perfect Location ; Good Breakfast ; Great for the City Trips Because to near the train station ; noisey
Location. Very friendly and helpful staff. An executive double room is supposed to have a good view as per hotel room descriptioms. Mine did not have that.
I booked a room with a satellite tv, however it had only 4 black and white channels. When I called reception, I was told they had a problem and so we couldn't watch tv. I complained when paying the bill but it was all in vain.
Got a room in the City Residence - a suites portion of the hotel. Good value Breakfast location was in a diferent hotel (connected) a long walk.
The location of the hotel was perfect. One minute from the train station, in walking distance of the town center, and there is a good restaurant a few doors down. The staff was friendly and the rooms were nice and clean.
Close to the train station and very central. Staff was very helpful and the room was very comfortable and modern. Loved it.......
The good breakfast and near to train station.
Good location, servise, exelent meals ( just was problem with group, was very noisily during breakfast, very nice atmosphere. Many thanks. I do not have any complains.
Room too hot, air conditioning not working
The rooms were very modern, clean and comfortable. The staff was great, and the breakfast was the best! The location was about 15-20 minute walk from most of the sites. Not a bad walk, but makes it hard to go back and forth.
Quiet and clean accomodations.
Not a bad location, rooms are nice and clean. We asked for a room with a bath, and they upgraded us to the executive room for free. No parking.
Very clean hotel and a comfortable stay.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Accommodation were nice. While somewhat far from the center of town, walking environment nice along the river.
We thoroughly enjoyed out stay. Very comfortable and great staff
Great deal & stay
The staff were very good at what they do and very helpful and eager to serve your every need. Thankyou for making our stay so memerable No English entertainment TV.ie Movies and etc
The coffie at the breakfast table was terrible.
We enjoyed the Starhotel Michelangelo. It wasn't as close to the sights as I would have liked, but it had good, easy parking and a large room for my entire family of 5 to sleep comfortably. We also have a gluten free diet that they had no problem accommodating at both dinner and breakfast. My only complaint is that it isn't as close to the sights as many other hotels are. This hotel was worth the stay and the price.
The hotel is comfortable, located conveniently to sites in Florence, near to public transportation, both intracity & intercity.
(1) Very convenient to railway station and shops. (2) Central but quiet. (3) Breakfast excellent (1) Shower over bath. (2) Receptionist very brusque as we left. Did not ask if we enjoyed our stay. No "hope you'll come back" or the like
thenk you for your hospitaliti, for comfort, for clean room and hotel, wondefful brekwest and kind hotel staff
Very nice big rooms with a veranda, excellent location. The staff was very friendly, they booked a visit at Ufici and also recommended an excellent restaurant.
everything, staff were helpfull and friendly.nice atmosphere
helpful staff the room was small
Service was good: we were a group of 10 runners coming for the marathon and the hotel staff organized the transfer to the Bologna airport, we had a breakfast earlier and could keep one room to have a shower after running.
Adler Cavalieri is a fine hotel. The 4-stars are not comparable to other hotels', though. For instance, Intercontinental's 4-stars are closer to 5 and Adler's are closer to 3. But the comfort, cleanness and friendliness are not at stake here. It's only a matter of refining (discretizing) the stars rating.
Close to Laudromat, facilities, railway station. Trip to Pisa. Slow WiFi for which the username & password had to be continually re-entered.
comfort & clean
Rather impressive in design and quality of interior, both in public spaces and in room. The room was good-sized, taking into account sleeping area and adjoining alcove. Bathroom was, like the rest, impressive in its appointments, from ceiling mouldings and wall sconces down to floor tiling. For the Booking.Com price of 98 Euros, it was a bargain. I've never gotten a better one. I don't know whether our modestly-priced rooom was an exception or not, but it did show some signs of lack of prompt maintenance. For one instance of three total, a good-sized water stain on ceiling and down to bottom of otherwise impressive and impressively thick ceiling moulding.
It was fairly central to the main sights and a short walk from the railway station.
near to the railway station
cute design, close to the train station, close to the river, walking distance to attractions in Florence. Directions to the hotel from the train station were not communicated well. It is really simple, but the language barrier made it more difficult. We ended up wandering around for an extra hour with our luggage. The pillows were tiny, more like one layer of badding in a pillowcase. The room was muggy; our laundry wouldn't dry because the a/c only worked when we were in the room. Our key in the slot was the source of all power. The water smelled bad, so it was barely drinkable. We could smell the water even just when showering. Watch out for mosquitoes; we got eaten alive.
The hotel has a convenient and central location in Firenze. About 15 min walk from the touristy center. Lobby looks very good and well kept, so the disappointment is all the bigger when the room looks old and worn. Breakfast was a poor ordeal, even for Italian breakfast standards.
The location The rooms are small and not renovated
Our triple room was ideal as it has an extra bedroom for our 10 year old and two bathrooms, more akin to a small apartment. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly and made restaurant reservations for us etc. The lounge area was very nice and relaxing. Only minor things here really, such as the coffee for breakfast was not of great quality and was a bit stewed! Some of the decor could be updated and maybe a flatscreen TV in the bedroom with more international/English channels. However, we would definitely stay here again.
It is situated virtually on the River and is close to all the Major Bridges, Shopping Areas, Eateries, Bars etc The Bathrooms were small. I suppose that space is paramount in Florence, therefore the smallness. The Hotel Bar was unmanned during my stay. I did not see any airconditioning units in my room. It may have been central airconditioning or heating.
Fantastic hotel if you manage to get it for less than €120 a night. Friendly staff, rooms are fantastic for an Italian hotel and they provide a great breakfest. You can get a hotel closer to the major piazzas but if you dont mind walking 5mins more then dont let that stop you booking at this hotel
Huge nice rooms and modern bathrooms. Also bar is comfortable and location is perfect. The breakfast buffet is chaotic and staff unwilling to help.
The nice staff ande the size of the room. No
friendly staff, we were there with our 18 month old grandchild and they could not have been more helpful. Views from the pool bar wonderful.
Very helpful staff. Great room and location. All around excellent and would stay again. Loved it all.
The quite location of the hotel two minutes walk from the Arno River & away from the traffic noise of the city! The staff were very polite and very helpful giving out useful helpful advice about visiting the sites of the city and where to eat. There are excellent views of the city from the roof top terrace. My husband and I will definately stay at this hotel again when we visit Florence. No.
good staff and good breakfast rooms are old, they need a make up , old tv, old furniture...
proximity to town centre. roof terrace bar Noise from traffic in street below. My room was a strange shape.
The hotel was in a great place. One particular member of the restaurant staff, Giovanni, was excellent and very accommodating. The restaurant menu was very good and the rooms were of a good size. At times there was an unpleasant drain smell in the rooms. We were actually moved from one room (204) and it got a lot better, but I think a lot of the buildings in Florence suffers from this problem.

Staff were friendly, the room and balcony were nice and the breakfast was good. There was a discothek next by the hotel. Since 2 o`clock in the morning we heart the music and the drums so loudly, that we can`t sleep.
Nice room, very beautiful bathroom, good breakfast, great value for money. The location is within walking distance from, though away from the historic center. No.
Good standard of all services Problems with internet conectivity (operator swisscom was not able to solve)
Not too much. The location is futher from the city than we thought by looking at the map location. The resaurant was not fully prepared for the 2 bus loads of tourists and the other guests already there. Bar is open for a limited time. Dinner is very expensive for what you get. Food was just o.k., Over all, staff did not seem very attentive or pleasant with their greating of guests.
Washroom ( Badezimmer) Room was in the past a smooking room, old cigarettes on Balcony, balcony very small
Good hotel, with excellent breakfast facilities. Most rude and unaccommodating staff , not fit to serve at NH chain of hotels.
Two members of the reception staff were very friendly and helpful and were the high point of the stay. They made sure I had a the hotel's bike for the week which was brilliant. The buffet breakfast was very good. The furnishing and fittings in the room excellent. Bed was very comfortable. I ordered room service one night, the service was prompt and polite and portion generous. The rooms were not internally sound proofed. The head of my bed was adjacent to the service lift which ensured I was woken very early. The hotel catered for tour and school groups which seemed to get in late and leave early and were unbelievably noisy. It felt like I was staying in a rowdy backpackers.
When you're spending over $300 a night, I expect free internet!
The staff at the Anglo American were fantastic, friendly and extremely helpful. They looked after our luggage after our early arrival in Florence on the train from Paris allowing us to visit the city unburdened. They also looked after them after checking out as we were not leaving till the evening that day. The hotel was booked up with a large party of guests and to our amazement and delight we were upgraded to a suite. We will be recommending a stay at the NH Anglo American to anybody we know who is visiting Florence and look forward to returning ourselves. None
Clean hotel, welcoming employees.
hotel staff breakfast, location
The breakfast, the staff. Comfortable and not far from city center
Breakfast was excellent. And they kindly held on to our bags after checkout while we went to collect a car. Just a comment re. the surroundings - the 'green area' to the front could be maintained to make the initial impression more pleasing.
very friendly and helpful staff. no parking directly at the hotel, but in 2 min walking distance. Expensive, though (24 Euros for 24 hours)
They had a great deal on to upgade to a superior room for just ten euros a night. The reception staff were very helpful in booking restaurants etc for us; particualry Benito. No
The hotel staff were very helpful and welcoming. Nothing was problem. Everything was perfect!
The breakfasts - plenty of choice and very good Would have liked it to be a bit closer to the main attractions. It was a good 20 minute walk.
In a quiet neighborhood, walking distance from Florence center. Pleasant common areas and rooms. Would be nice, it the hotel had a gym.
for me is always internet access very important and I have use a pay internet with credit card.. this is not nice.. too expensiv
Clean, safe, self parking was a great bonus, easy walk into the sights, 'pack and play' fit in the bedroom. Room a little small, bed a little uncomfortable (hard), pillows were small.
hotel staff - very nice and polite
In general, everything is good. the young staff at the reception on Nov13 is very enthusiastic and helpful ( I forget his name), thanks a lot Its raining heavily on that day, they even don't have the umbrella to lend to us.
Great location; good size room (if you don't have lots of bags) and clean toilet. Nice breakfast and very kind staff, very helpful.
The hotel was located very close to the train station in Florence and within an easy walk to many of the attractions that Florence has to offer. Our only concern with the hotel was that we paid for wi-fi internet in the room however there was no signal in the room. We needed to sit in the hotel lobby to access the internet.
Hotel was central and easy walk from train station on arrival. Our room though small was nice brillant onsuite and shower A bar would have been nice
Friendly and helpful staff, clean and spacious room (newly renovated) and good location. also, good breakfast.
proximity to the train station, very fresh breakfast, helpful staff. i found the room a bit too warm and moved the air cond. from 26 to 23 but it was back at 26 the next time i looked! maybe there was a reason?
Nothing really at all Hotel price was not worth it at all. I couldn't sleep all night because my neighbor upstairs was taking a shower. If anybody walks in the corridor whether in the upper floor or next to your room it's like walking next to you. The hotel is too old.
nothing special in the hotel. the hotel do not Desearve 4 stars hotel. littel bet expenseve.
There was one women that was especially kind and very helpfull. Everything was great the service and the communication. The younger male worker at the desk was very short in answering question.
The aura of anxient upperclass. The elevator seemed a bit risky.
The family and staff who run the hotel are exceptionally nice and helpful. The hotel is undergoing renovations which made it extremely noisy in our room during the day.
The location was an easy walk to all the major sites as well as to restaurants. It is possible to walk to the train station. Breakfast was good... excellent capuccino! Very old and tired decor. It needs a complete renovation. Our room was very hot even though the heat was not on so we had to keep the window open and put up with very loud traffic noise.
very friendly staff hotel is run-down, and there was not a lot of hot water in the shower. I wouldn't rate it 4 stars. It's rather a quite good 3 star hotel, unfortuantely at the price of a 4 star one. But according to other Florence visitors I talked to, it's like that in lots of other hotels as well. So probably not the hotel itself, but the overall standard in the city is to blame.
good breakfast Room was not clean.
The hotel was in an excellent location, across the street from the Arno River. Near fine restaruants and shopping. Close to the Dumo, Piti Place and other great sights.
From the moment I stepped onto the curb, the hotel staff were extremely helpful, the room was perfect and it exceeded all my expectations
lovely views of the river, very nice room, good, friendly service There was some noise and a little disruption due to building work in the hotel.
The hotel has old world charm and is classic in every sense. nothing
Had one of the best meals of our trip in the hotel restaurant. In addition, the staff was friendly and helpful. Recommend that travelers get specific directions as the hotel was difficult to find.
I like so much the bathroom and the room also the simplycity of all.
A very nice hotel, part of the AC chain. Location not perfect, but within 10 min walk of city center.
The hotel is beautiful, new and within a 10 min walk of the Duomo. The staff is very helpful and always welcoming - a rare occurance these days. The hotel also offers free underground parking which is unheard of in Florence. Just a great hotel overall!
Very modern room. Gymnasium. Standard TV channels.
Free upgrade, amazing penthouse with huge tarass and beautiful city views as well as big jacuzzi bath. Excellent breakfast.
Great hotel! I'd stay there again in a second.
the decaration is superior。we like it .and the staff is very nice. nothing
Beds and pillows were so comfortable!!! Need a mirror outside of the bathroom...
The quiet lounge area & tables and chairs to work Very helpful Reception staff. Minibar very welcome on late arrival Cold breakfast!
The hotel is situated in a very quiet street. We got a nice, large room, very comfortable and clean. Breakfast adequate and nice staff.
The situation of the hotel is nice because you are away from all the mess of tourists, and yet only a 10-15 walk to all major sites in the city. The air conditioning seemed to work just fine (Florence in mid-August is hot!) and the room was of a good size, well decorated for the most part, and generally clean. The staff, as well, were generally nice and friendly. I would say the price was good, but I found out later that the four star hotel across the street (with rooftop pool and breakfast included!) was less expensive. Simply does not fulfill requirements of a four star establishment. Front desk and reception need to be re-done. Staff, while friendly, did not offer the kind of service expected (did not even offer to help with bags when checking in or out) and was generally incompetent (charged us twice while checking out! and the maid would never knock and almost walked in on us at least 4 times!). The room was nice, good size, and clean, but had no information on the hotel, location, etc... No way to know how to call front desk or even something to put on the door so the maid would not burst in! While looking for said info, found all sorts of detritus in drawers from previous guests. Breakfast was just simply horrible: food, coffee, room... everything.
The hotel room was attractive and felt right for being in Italy. The dissapointing areas were the air conditioning was not working properly and the breakfast room was falling apart e.g. lots of paint peeling off the walls etc.
Although a bit separate from the centre, its tranquility and comodity were very welcoming. The surprise was the jaccuzzi after a long day of walking. Breakfast ok, nothing special. The amability of Osvaldo. The (almost) hostility of the lady serving in the breakfast room, no smile, no good morning. Not the best way for starting your day
The hotel was clean and well maintained and the staff was friendly and helpful.
Very comfortable room, very friendli and helpful satff ,excellant possition No
The staff..... They were so helpful. They helped us plan our stay and ensured we made the most of our stay in Florence. And the complimentary cookies were a plesant surprise and was the free Internet service.
I had an upgraded room. Comfy and nice! Kind and helpful staff. Hotel is close to the train station, close to the fiume Arno and main touristic sites. Not so nice area.
very kind and polite staff, cleanliness of room and almost new facilities
Good location, friendly staff, not big but very clean room. A lot of rent a car company (5 or 7) near, 5 min. by walk. Poor breakfest, problem with internet. A bit expensive.
The price is competitive at his standard. All the serving staf has showed their professionism. Location is quiet as well as easy access to train station. Room is small for triple.
The staff remembered me from a previous stay and made me feel welcome
A great location within a few minutes walk of Santa Maria Novella train station and close to all the sights. A warm welcoming service. My single room was tiny although surprisingly comfortable. Street noise on a Saturday night was a major issue so brine ear-plugs.
Bathroom was impeccable and, though small, what was hoped for and was a relief to find. Room was tiny but enough for a single traveller. Within easy walking distance of major attractions. Worth the bargain. Breakfast was not amazing but sufficient. No wifi in room. LAN plug supplied no longer sufficient in today's world.
Helpful and approachable staff The room bathroom and shower were very small.
Greater choice for breakfast required
