Via Dei Pescioni, 2, Florence, Tuscany
0.4 mi from
This is a beautiful, classic hotel, sumptuously appointed, but not over the top. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff is wonderful. The breakfasts are elegant. (Best croissants of our trip!) The location is perfect, close to everything. Wonderful in almost all respects, BUT . . . The hotel has a problem with noise, especially on the Via del Pescioni side. We were on the second floor, and disturbed during the night by revelers in the street, but especially by the very loud noises of service vehicles starting about 6 am. The hotel must be aware of this, because they provided ear plugs (!) by the bedside. (We should have had the wits to read this ominous sign.) They moved us to a room on the other side for our second night. Avoid rooms overlooking the street! Also, there is no coffee machine in the rooms.
Cappuccino. Staff was understanding. The rooms next to the street are noisy because of the late night bars and at this time of year you can't have AC in the rooms because one system works the entire building. If you are hot or uncomfortable you have to open a window which just lets the noise in. Street cleaners, and trash service comes by at 5am which is nuts! Breakfast was blah...Single room was a closet and horrible shower. Im in shape and didn't fit in the shower.
Liked nearly everything The service around the pool area was a bit slow some days
Hotel is conveniently located, stylish (Florentine style) and quiet. Room was spacious with lots of space for clothing, etc. Moldy fabric on walls; didn't know about comlimentary breakfast.
Beautiful room, luxurious bathroom, very comfortable bed, very nice and helpful staff. Very quiet environment and therefore relaxing. The best hotel I have ever stayed at in 30 years of travel. There was nothing I did not like.
We arrived to a rude and dismissive front desk. They proceeded to tell us we couldn't stay in our room unless we paid 50 dollars more than what we paid with kayak. I said absolutely not. they said then we couldn't stay and they would still be charging us the full amount of the room. We left and did not stay there and now have to dispute these fraudulent charges with my credit card. Never stay here!!! Worst service ever!!!!
I have experience a lot of luxury hotel , but in this hotel I found them very helpful .The second night for me in the hotel I had an emergency case where my son chocked with food I called the reception and they were there at my door step helping me out like one of their family member I appreciate that . And recommend it to all my friends.
The hotel is beautiful and the staff is nice. I found the price to be excessive as compared to the hotel facilities and service--it is definitely a nice hotel but the price is overvalued. One issue that is very bothersome is the air conditioner turns off after a certain time during "winter" but it was very hot during our stay and they still had it turned off. They finally did turn it back on for a longer period of time, after we complained.
Service - reception and restaurants It's pricy
The A/C was off and the room was too warmWhen openning the windows a lot of mosquitos came in. It was a very bad experience with so many mosquito bites.
It was hard to find our room in the new wing.
The snack bar was nice and it was right across the street from the train station which was a plus Our room had 3 people in it and we only got 2 bath towels no extra blanket for the 3rd person. The air conditioning was poor it was never cool enough in the room forget about blow drying your hair cause the dryer turned off after 3 mins of using it.. let alone at 6:30 am the people who work there were slamming doors and it was right next to our room it sounded like they were in our room that's how loud it was.. it was every day.. when we seen pictures of this place we thought it was nice but when we got there it was a whole another story

Location, quality, service, rooms
The beds were very comfortable with wonderful linen. The room was spacious and clean. There was a strange smell outside the hotel.
The beds were extremely hard.
The hotel is right in front of the train station and in walking didtance of the shopping and sites. Staff very friendly and nice The rooms are quite old and kind of a musty smell
Room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very good. Location was very convenient overall. Staff was not particularly helpful in recommending restaurants or tours - very little information given.
It is exactly next to the train station The night duty snoring officer sleeps on the sofa of the reception area !!!
It was a bit difficult to find it, but it is very close to the rail station and a 5 min was to the Duomo. Not so comfortable mattress, but clean and comfy rooms. The complementary breakfast was amazing. Not so comfortable mattress
We were two couples occupying two rooms. Air conditioning did not work in either of the two rooms. At around midnight, a terrible noise emanating from the internal courtyard would not let us sleep, and the receptionist explained that the noise was due to the septic cleaning activity that would only performed at night. The above noted septic-related activity lead to an incredibly disgusting smell that quickly propagated through windows and vent openings. The front desk staff proved to be extremely rude and useless.
