Only improvement could have been with their pricing. I ended up getting there 30min earlier than expected. Instead of saying no problem, I was told I need to drop the car off 30min earlier on return. They have every right to expect compensation for their product/services and if 30min is no big deal then the guy says well he's just 30min earlier than that (and this logic never ends) and Hertz could be out a significant amount of money. But it also took me more than 30min to go through the rental process, get the car, and leave the airport. It just seemed like the company wanted every $0.10 they could get. Maybe a little flexibility would have been better. Still no complaint.Reviewed Jun 18 2022

Hertz has the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. The 800 number was not located in the US. There was never a supervisor available the 4 times I called. I used their email and it says they will reply within 2 weeks. It took them 3 weeks to reply by email.. I finally got ahold of them on twitter only to be ghosted. When I arrived to pick up the car, the exact issue I was trying to contact them about happened. Luckily the counter folks were nice, but it still resulted in us waiting 2 hours for our car to be ready…. Never again will I rent a Hertz brand carReviewed Jun 5 2022

Went above and beyond expectations. It was our first time to rent a vehicle for over the road travel due to an emergency. The staff at Hertz in Norfolk -Jacobay- and the staff member in Memphis who signed the car in welcomed us back home It was a nice touch after two rough days. Stay the course:Reviewed Jun 2 2022

Was told by Hertz that the insurance I purchased on kayak wasn't valid and that I needed to purchase insurance directly from them. They didn't have any cars in stock and I had to wait an hour for a car to be returned. When I got into the car it was disgusting. There was some sort of oil/fluid on the center console and arm rest, the car hadn't been cleaned.Reviewed May 27 2022

The sticker on the car said clean but the car was not cleaned. All windows had smudges and streeks all over as well as dirty doors. Sounds like there is something loose either under the driver's seat or under the car in that vicinity.Reviewed Sep 3 2021

Was given a vehicle with two bad tires that was not safe for the road. Rep in D.C was very nice about putting us into a different vehicle. Manager at Norfolk international airport seemed bothered that I was inconvenienced with my whole experience. I just wanted to be done. I didn’t want to argue. He/She got what they wanted… me out of there. I spent almost 3 hours on the phone on Wednesday trying to get help regarding the vehicle and no one would help me or I couldn’t get a straight answer. I was hung up on. I think I Even had someone pretend they couldn’t hear me after 30 mins on hold. I was transferred to the wrong departments. It was a mess. We only went to DC for the day and the whole experience took almost an extra two hours out of our trip. We even stopped at a different location in Fredericksburg Va and the agent there told us the vehicle should have never been given to us in the first place to rent. It was unsafe. I had children in the car. I don’t think I’ll ever rent from Hertz again and I will pass this experience along to our friends and family. My husband is active duty military so I’m sure he will be sure to pass that on so his command doesn’t book through Hertz either when traveling.Reviewed Sep 3 2021
