Pros: They didn't have a car for me and I was screwed.

Cons: Guy was rude, the car promised was not what was being offered to me. When I asked for another vehicle he gave attitude. Car was dirty and had an odor. They did not offer a replacement. Guy was on a personal call during transaction. Had rude comments made during drop off.

Cons: I had to wait quite a bit to pick up the car even though there was no other customers in line.

Cons: our rental price increased from $200 to $300, paid double for insurance (makes NO sense!! Especially paying $50 extra per day!) and didnt even understand this was happening until it was too late.
Pick up time
Cons: I was given the choice of 6pm for pick up and Hertz closes at 6pm. I was rushed through and communication was not clear with the agent. I did not get to look through the rental before I received it to make note of any flaws int he car so I wouldn't be charged. It would be beneficial to note that the facility closes at 6 and to go earlier for good service. Otherwise, everything was good.

Pros: Clean car. Appreciated that it came with unlimited miles - I did a lot of traveling to different National Parks. Extended my time with the car by a couple of days and they were willing to give me the same low rate no problem. Quick and easy!
Cons: First car had oil and check engine light come on after a few days. Everything seemed fine (checked oil, etc.) but didn't want to worry about it so I brought it back to Hertz - they swapped it for a different car no worries.

Personnel at the Hertz car rental in Ventura no so
Pros: Just to be clear, the ratings above aren't on the wonderful car we rented while in Colorado but on the personnel at the Ventura Hertz car rental agency when returning the car.
Cons: When it was time to return the rental car to the local Ventura Hertz Company, we filled the tank first and the gauge indicated that the tank was full.
The counter person looked over the car for any damage (didn't find any) and then said we didn't return the car with a full tank. I showed her our gas receipt and she still doubted us. We felt as if she thought we were lying! Very uncomfortable and, of course, the more one tries to convince someone of their innocence, the more that someone doubts. Other than that, Hertz did good by us because of Kayak.com
