Comfortable room with couch (instead of the usual table & chairs), nice decor (shutters instead of blinds, marble bathroom vanity). A short walk to Mallory Square and many good restaurants. Construction was in progress on facade, so had to use side & back entrances, but noise wasn't an issue.
The location is excellent. The room was very quiet and comfortable. One of the main reasons I booked here was because there was a pool at the site. It was very disappointing to find out upon arrival that the pool was not in service. The hotel should have given reserved customers advanced warning so that other arrangements could have been made.
Our room was charming and tastefully decorated--very Key West. Extremely quiet. Nice rooftop pool.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The amenities and staff were outstanding. The location to all the hot spots in Key West was so convenient. We couldn't have asked more more. It made our wedding getaway that much more pleasurable. There was nothing that we didn't lik .
Very professional Small bathroom
Very good location; own parking lot; roof-top bar; fresh fruits for breakfast
Rooms are small, over priced, front desk made us stay in lobby for an hour before checking in, (from 3:00 until 4:00) we were booked 2 weeks in advance.
not much very tiny, tiny bathroom. window was to look out at Duval street. impossible. rooms to small. stayed with because was a Crowne Plaza. was the worst one ever because of size and no BKF included. only friendly staff was the valet, probably for the tip. no thank-you, have a good day from from desk when checked out
The best is the location. You don't need to use the car. It's clean. No charm. It's impersonal. It fright me when I find ear plug in the room and your wine come in a plastic cup!
The hotel is very centrally located, and has a nice lobby and bar, and the pool area looked good for families The room had no window and was extremely dark. Light bulbs were burned out and the bedspreads were very dingy and dirty looking. For the money I paid, this was extremely disappointing.
Great location, high standard and reasonable price. And parking which was rare in that neighborhood.
the location was in the center of duval st. that is really all the good i have to say... I did not like that we had to walk through old, nasty water puddle to get to the pool from our location, I did not like the extremely high prices in the restaurant, and when we looked for breakfast the next morn, we were told it was a $16. buffet. I thought we were promised breakfast with our reservation, so we ate somewhere else, only to ask later about it and the front desk clerk looked at me like I was stupid, then reluctantly gave me a pass for the next day? Room way overpriced for not having a ceiling fan or a functional air conditioner, it was set for what the hotel obviously wanted the temp at...
The location is great, one block off of Duval street right next to the Hemingway home in historic Key West. The room was beautiful and the staff was great. I would recommend the light house court to anyone. Not being able to stay longer
Location: amazing!! Right across from Hemingway's house, less than a block to the lighthouse, walking distance to Southernmost and Mallory Square via an easy stroll up Duval Street. Picture-perfect intimate courtyard, nice pool, good breakfast included, and privacy-based rooms.
An amazing hotel, especially the staff does a great job! Worth the price! Ask for the receptionist, he did an outstanding great job...Without him our stay wouldn't have been so great in Key West! Thank you!
SHORT WALK TO DUVAL AND SIGHTS OF OLD TOWN. STAFF EXTREMELY COURTEOUS AND FRIENDLY. NICE HAPPY HOUR AND CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST. ROOM WAS QUIET. NO
Location was excellent! Continental breakfast and happy hour of wine and cheese was very well done. Three flights of stairs to carry bags up and down without assistance offered. Had to pay for bike rentals from the hotel. Many places have them as a complimentary service. The tv was small and didn't rotate properly to be seen adequately from the bed.
Great pool, no children, quiet. We can even manage the roosters for no kids and a real pool. :)
The staff were all pleasant and informative. Amenities just as they said. I love bananas you can add them to the free breakfast. All in all it was a very pleasant stay. I have already recomended The Cabana Inn to my son.
The staff were super polite! The room was not the cleanest! Hair all over bathroom. Seemed over priced as well.
Cleanliness Location...when I left, there was no one available for check out
Very friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere, the best location (walking distance to Duval restaurants and galleries), cozy rooms, outdoor chairs right by your room, life music from the next door restaurant. I will definitely come back and would recommend to stay at Wicker Guesthouse . The outdoor patio looks a little old, but due to the weather specific in the Keys (rain and flooding ) I guess it's not easy to keep it at perfect condition all the time. Everything else is great.
The room was clean, nice pool area, the location was great and very friendly staffs. I'll definitely stay here again. None
Our room had a full kitchen, was very reasonably priced, and the staff was superb. They were very flexible with our arriving early and checkin out late. Everyone made the effort to look me in the eye and greeted me with a smile. Very professional. The cleaning staff started their rounds pretty early, like 9:30, and we weren't up and moving yet.
If you can afford to splurge on your accomodations, this is the place. A skip across the water with all the access to Key West but a nice break away from it too.
First time writing a review. Very disappointed in our stay (we are still here). Couple points - Positives 1) fantastic setting and the Cotteges are solid - great for families 2) Latitudes restaurant is very good Negatives 1) Check in is a difficult - The cotteges are a sub set of the Weston Sunset Key resort. The cotteges are supposed to be high end - We checked in and had to wait 15 to 20 minutes for someone to show up at the desk. After waiting - for awhile - three people showed up all at once from the back 2) Concierge - booking things to do in advance was nearly impossible - we called three times in advance. Once - we were put on hold and I gave up. Second time it just rang. And third time - she said she'd call back and never did. Finially - we called a fourth time and got ahold of someone who was helpful. That said - Jenny (from Wisconsin) is fantastic. She has been great since we've been here 3) Beach - bring your shoes. Its exceptionally rocky. Fine when you are wearing surfing shoes, but can not run into water without them (not kidding here - really bad coral/rocks) 4) Staff - wayyyyyy understaffed. I feel bad for the waiter on the beach. One guy trying to serve 40 people. They are losing a ton a revenue here. The waiter was trying real hard, but had to walk back to the main restaurant to retrieve drink orders, then carry it all back. Need more people. What's confusing is there are 2 guys that hang out that are supposed to be helping with chairs, but all they do is sit under the palm hut. The first 2 days, we had to find empty chairs and then find cusions and set everything up. I have no problem doing this when things are busy, but there was a hotel staff member 50 feet away on his cell phone. Same issue with the pool. One guy serving the entire pool. Staff part 2) (which prompted this note) - 8 am in the morning and tried to go to the gym. The door is broken. Logical assumption there would be some one available to talk to. There is litereally no one in the ...
I am writing this review almost a year after out vacation at Sunset Key. Yet, I feel a wave of calm wash over me as I reflect on our stay. It is a lovely place. Lush landscaping, white sand beaches, an occasional hammock overlooking the water, quiet. It's a short ferry ride away from the hustle and bustle of Key West. Yet, it's a world away. We visited Key West daily during our stay, but always looked forward to returning to our retreat. The restaurant is fabulous. Excellent food, excellent service, with outside tables at the edge of the white beach. We enjoyed it so much that we ate lunch and dinner there almost every day. The cottages are every bit as lovely as the photographs on the website. The porch was a delightful place to spend each morning reading over the complimentary paper that had just been delivered along with a basket of freshly-prepared pastries. I cannot wait to go back.....
Every time we come back to Sun Set Key it gets better! This is our favorite family Vacation.
location and surroundings - beach no, they did end up putting us in a larger cottage - 2 bedrooms instead of the quaint 1 bedroom we were expecting.
I would definitely stay here again. The island is serene, beautiful, and only a 5 minute ferry ride from Key West. The new Latitudes restaurant is wonderful - excellent cuisine, attentive service, and right on the beach (some tables are even set in the sand!).
My husband and I spent our 39th anniversary at Sunset Key Cottages and were delighted by the peaceful setting and easy access to old town Key West. The cottages are spacious and beautifully appointed, the beds are indeed ''heavenly,'' and the garden views are as pretty as the ocean views. Bring your beach shoes because the beach is pristine and private but the shells can be sharp. Dinner served on the beach under a full moon was the crowning touch and we will definitely be back.
My wife and I travel often and like to stay in nice places. Sunset Key is the best by FAR! Get there before you die. You will never forget it. We find ourselves comparing every other vacation to our time spent at Sunset Key.....nothing compares.
We had an amazing stay at this facility. The cottages are extremely comfortable and romantic. The views were only surpassed by the company I was with.
Location and clean. I have nothing negative to say about our stay at Pegasus.
Close to everything. older hotel but everything was nice. I'd stay again Had to pay for parking, the lot was one block away. No issues.
On Duval st and close to the action. The female staff at check in was rather rude. My mom entered first as she is ill while the rest of us got the luggage. My mon asked for a place to sit and was told by the female at the desk that there was nowhere to sit. She had to sit on the stairs. There was a seating area a few steps away around the corner. The room I was first given was hot, had a leaking fridge and a trail of ants on the wall. I hope my ethnicity had nothing to do with that. Never staying in this hotel again.
The hotel is very well located. Lots of cockroaches and also they will just give you a bottle of water the day you arrive but if you stay more days they won't give you more.
Liked the location right on Duval Street and the rates. The rooms located above the pool and deck area are non smoking but because the people can smoke in the deck area under these rooms the smoke goes right up and into the ac and then filters into the room. When you enter it literally smells like someone has been smoking in the rooms. The rooms were small but for the rates that was okay. The thing I disliked most was the parking being located over a half of a block away. I think if I had none that before I booked I may have went with a different hotel, although I would have never been able to find the rates I did on a Friday night on Duval Street.
Smell of cigarette smoke in room even though the hotel is non-smoking.
Great location right on duval st. Clean room and very helpful staff
Close to everything, quiet enough for its location, clean room. Nothing
The proximity to the active part of duval street is nice. Rooms were clean, staff friendly, and breakfast was very good considering its continental. parking is 3 blocks away and not guaranteed. Bicycles must also be kept off premises, which is inconvenient. The rooms were on the small side, with no place to really store bags without constantly tripping over them.
Such a cute place! Only a couple of rooms in the place - nice and quiet, close to Duval Street. Breakfast included and was simple but good and includes complementary mimosas. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. We would definitely stay here again! The shower and pool are both small.
The staff is great. I loved the atmosphere. Half a block from duval. Very quiet and clean. Great breakfast. Happy hour was very nice. Definitely going back!!!!
Location, beautiful room, nice people, pleasant friendly staff, good breakfast, would stay again.
Front room with huge balcony. Location was great No phone, no micro, no fridge, no coffee, no parking, no breakfast.
Mansoor and all of his staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The entire hotel is well kept, clean, and conveniently located. There is a lite breakfast of OJ, coffee, tea, fresh fruits and croissants daily. Highly recommend.
