Supplier choice

I was unaware that I needed to have my credit card with me. When I booked the rental, it didn’t advise me on what I needed to bring in order to pick it up. I have rented vehicles before and was able to use a debit card. So, I was stranded in Lexington instead of being where I needed to be.

Took the vehicle to the Asheville, Hertz rental car return location at 9 AM. When the store opened no one was there I waited two hours and then had to leave had to pay a shuttle driver to return the keys later that day. In addition, the invoice I received included five days rental cost for one day rental. In addition, I spent two hours hours on the phone trying to contact someone at Hertz for information total run around Totally unacceptable I look forward to hearing from Hertz to resolve these issues and concerns. My rental contract number is 182634104

Prices for rentals are through the roof. Deposit on top of reservation was unbelievably high. Counter experience included an agent that seemed to think that these prices were absolutely normal and $1000 (deposit included) was normal for a 4 day rental Also, Mazda car we rented took us 4 days to figure out instrument cluster. Highly dissappointed

The car drove well and was comfortable

Cons:

I never actually talked to anyone from Enterprise as both pick up and drop off were handled by a representative at another company's desk. If I had known that, I could have used Budget or some other company and paid a cheaper rate. The car was absolutely filthy. Lots of dirt and bugs on the front grill, animal hair in the luggage area and stains on the back seat. I had to give some authors a ride to a book launch party and was embarrassed by the condition of the car. Drop off was confusing since I had never used that airport and expected someone to be available in the lot to look at the car and take the keys. In the airport, I went to the only desk with an attendant to complete the rental process and told her about the filthy, unsanitary condition of the car. She was unconcerned. My first (and last) bad experience with Enterprise.
