Hotel is right on the boardwalk with very nice restaurant (voucher for 1/2 price breakfast0 on 1st floor for people watching and of course the beach and ocean. We were upgraded to an ocean view room (no. 12) which was very nice with small living room, kitchenette, and wonderful queen bed. Parking was only about 150 feet to south (overnight $25). Kyle (manager) and Jose (who checked us in) were gracious and made sure we had what we needed. We even got a temporary parking by hotel after we checked out. Rented bicycles only 3 doors away; basically well situated to beach activities, dining, and not too far from Santa Monica pier. We liked everything, but would caution that there is no elevator. While there is a halfway house across the alley, we had no issues nor did we see anything untoward. The real spectacle is on boardwalk.
the view the restaurant was bad . poor service, hostess is so lazy
The bathroom was updated and the shower tile was nice. TV, cable and internet all worked great. Everything smelled like cigarette smoke and I had a hard time sleeping because of it. It is right next to a busy road so it can be loud. I had the AC fan on all night for white noise. Another renter was smoking pot at his room doorway but the smell travelled for everyone to smell. If my family was with me we wouldn't have stayed there. The mattress was not very comfortable. I would only recommend this motel to a smoker on a tight budget.
Clean and comfortable room , everything in the room was fine. Limited parking spots, colorful neighborhood and some homeless people linger about.
Not a good area but the room was comfortable and spacious for the price.
The price This place is not in the nicest area. The place looks a little rough from the outside. Not terrible but you can tell it could use a lot of work. Right when we arrived some guy from the upper level was smoking a cigarette outside of his room door just staring at us. Not very welcoming. The complex is really small. The office was a small door and window. The man checking us in let us pay cash which was nice. I didn't want this place to have a hold on my card at all. Right when we opened our room door, we were welcomed to our bed which was about 10 feet away. The room was very small. Walls were a royal blue and bare. Only two light above the bed. The door didn't lock completely from the inside and the AC didn't get cold at all Bed was on wheels and stiff. 3 small limp pillows were on the bed. We made sure to check every layer of sheets on the bed and found them to not be sleep worthy. Had to sleep on top of all sheets. Small little sink and mirror. The tub/shower area looked decent. But we found a bug crawling on the floor. The toilet kept running if you didn't pull the lever all the way up after. We were not from this area so coming into the neighborhood was slightly sketchy. We wanted to get into our room fast, and make sure everything was locked and we didn't spend too much time outside. We needed a quick place to stay and for the price and decent reviews, we decided to go for it. Previews reviews were slightly misleading, so I wanted to give a full honest review and I never do these. Not for the feignt of heart, or anyone with kids. Great price at the time, but I would never come back
I just needed a place to stay for a night. The room was clean. There was a mini-fridge and microwave. Flat screen TV. Free parking. The cleaners they used in my room were way too strong leaving a significant chemical smell and making my sinuses act up. Hopefully this was an exception. The towels are old, thin and worn out. Other than that, this hotel is fine and will serve the purpose if you're on a budget.
It was a place to stay for the night. The owner was kind enough to hold a room for us even though we were late and he didn't have to. They had a full house. The roach that greater me when I walked in, the stained mattress. The fridge was leaking and being shooting all night long.
Nothing The people who run it
This place is no more than a big rundown house where they rent out bedrooms (some with their kids belonging still in them). The husband is a nice fellow but the wife is loud, pushy, and was rude to the point of abusive with her immigrant helper - berating, scolding, ordering her around. I was awakened by her banging on the door at 8:15 am saying her maid needed to clean the adjacent bedroom. Loud and annoying don't begin to describe the woman who runs this place. The breakfast was pretty much inedible - microwaved sausages and tater tots. The sheets and towels stained and had literally had tears in them. It's a house with no parking on the street. How this place got itself onto KAYAK and other hotel sites, I have no idea. It's a mediocre AirBnB , not even a bed and breakfast.
It was located within walking distance to Universal Studios and a few restaurants. The owners were very charming and hospitable. The room and bed was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast had a few things to choose from including eggs made to order. We would definitely stay here again!
The willingness of the staff to move us to another room due to a minor plumbing issue.
It was what was expected a normal hotel inexpensive hotel that was friendly and helpful
The location was handy, just outside of the hustle and bustle of hollywood but close enough to access. The rooms were lovely, clean and very spacious. The was also a pool and sun deck to chill out. The staff were very friendly and helpful. No internet access, and it was difficult to get a car parking space at the motel car park.
Convenient location Staff was not overly firendly and the rooms were substandard
Got a great price on kayak for the two nights I stayed. Very clean room. Close to where I needed to go in Burbank. Short ride to several food options. No complimentary breakfast. Regular prices are too high. Dated.
Very good about late checkout. Which happens often when travelling internationally.
very pleasant very clean great locationtranspo to and from airport exceptional We booked two rooms several months before our stay. We indicated the need to have two bathrooms and that we were traveling with twin boys age 8. The rooms were not next to each other. They were close but not one or even two rooms apart. That was an unpleasant surprise when we arrived!
Friendly staff, nice swiming pool, good room Poor breakfast (beverages - coffe and orange juice only, no tea or milk...)But the orange juice was excelent!
Location was ok, pool was nice, staff was great. Room didn't get cleaned until after 5:30pm. Price was pretty high for what you get. Although Hollywood apparently means automatically charge $100 more than what place is worth.
A generally positive experience, with comfortable accommodation and good location for access to Universal Studios. Breakfast facilities were minimal, no hot water for tea, no cereals available. It would also have been helpful if a cold water bubbler were available.
The excellent location ,well maintained and economical hotel has everything I need for my quick trips to Burbank. Unfortunately, my neighbors' TV woke me up at 5 AM and kept me up till I decided to get up and start my day.
Very big rooms, that includes a kitchen and a big bathroom The rooms smelled a litle bit bad
It was good quality for the price. Being one of the lowest priced hotels in a good area I should not have expected too much.
Nothing. Maybe the bed was a little comfortable?
The bed was comfortable and it was relatively close to our planned activities. Our check in time was 3pm. When we arrived at 4:30pm we were sent to a room that was not cleaned or ready. We informed the person at the desk who found us another room which wasn't any better. The bathroom smelled so strongly of urine & mold we purchased clorox bathroom spray and sprayed the entire bathroom. There was also no extra rolls of toilet paper. There was no smoke detector in the room. One of the beds had something brown and crusty on the sheets, fortunately the other seemed clean. The curtains were not quite large enough so there were 1"-2" gaps at the sides where people could see in the room at all times.
Price. Staff They didn't tell us the pool wasn't open. We would NOT HAVE STAYED THERE if we knew the pool wasn't open
