the rooms are at a excellent standard and compare favourably with five star n/a
Good clean room, good room service at reasonable prices. Nice big comfortable bed. Standard room had no bath but was set up for disabled use. Car parking away from the hotel. Long wait at busy times for the lift.
Clean(always a bonus in my opinion) and modern hotel, would recommend this hotel. Staff friendly and helpful.
Modern hotel in a brilliant location. Rooms were fantastic and extremely clean.
i really enjoyed the bedroom it was very comfartable and i liked the design of the room. it was a good price for the room. it was a little pricey for a pint 5.30 for a pint of perroni.
Clean, efficient, good location Thought breakfast was a little expensive
Clean, warm and comfortable - a good base for a couple of days visiting Manchester city centre, and the MEN arena. Only concern was that although the water was hot as it came out of the tap, it rapidly cooled in the bath, so a good soak wasn't possible. The shower was excellent. It was very cold whilst we were staying there, but the room was warm enough.
The staff were very helpful, especially the Irish chap (can't recall his name) who assisted us with our bags on arrival. The room was very clean and the presentation was lovely. The side of the wardrobe was broken but other than that everything was perfect.
We booked the Crowne Plaza on the way down to manchester on the booking.com app, was a great price and everthing was just perfect.
The actual rooms we stayed in were luxurious, as regards decoration comfort and the bathroon was lovely as well. The food (breakfasst) was awful!
Rundown, shabby Everything
The location. Ideal for Picaddily station and the airport train. Much better than airport hotels as the whole of Manchester centre is yours for the night. My favourite pubs, Marble Arch and Jolly Angler both close by. The room itself. When I entered my first thought was that the curtains were the same design as the wallpaper. Then I realised that it was wallpaper and there was no window. Practical though.
Proximity to city centre Room was described as executive twin - did not match up to this description. State of bathroom very poor.
central location Heating doesn't work dirty bathroom damaged tap on bathtub flush lavatory doesnt't act up
good location friendly staff
The hotel had all the facilities that a visitor to Manchester would need and I found the staff helpful and courteous and the central location is a big bonus, breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of food and in the evening I had dinner in the restaurant and the waiter was considerate and polite The hotel could do with some investment in the general decoration nothing was in a bad state of repair, just looking a little dated. In the evening I had dinner in the hotel and was I little disappointed that the one item on the menu that I wanted was not available.
The man on reception who was very polite, very patient and tried his best I did get my supposedly up-graded room changed back to the originall lower graded room which wasn't nearly as bad. The room - bath filthy (I mean it) and broken, room very very smelly and very cold with no functional heating. window overlooked filth and razor wire
the central location the air conditioning control unit was not working. The room got very hot! (room 207)
The location Staff attitude - damp and dated interior of bedroom - decor/repair of floor finished to very poor standard. Room was not ready at 2.30 although we were told it was (communication problem) then given a smaller room to what was paid for that was ready. Maid very rude at 10.10 in the morning, saying she wanted to clean the room - when i don't have to leave the room until 11am. This was reported to the reception who apologised and said that they would have words with the cleaner.
Location of the hotel was really good. You were by foot really fast in the center. Hotel was also really quiet, you were not able to hear neighbors or traffic although close to this hotel there were many pubs and restaurants. Breakfast was horrible, absolutely below standard.. There was almost none of healthy food available.. No cheese, ham, vegetables, porridge, berries.. Rooms were ok but there was no minibar, no storage facilities to clothes and bed was really soft which for us was not the preference -> Difficult to sleep long time since lower back was hurting after few hours..
Very central Lovely decor Very clean
The rooms were spotless and very comfortable , needs a bigger bar and dining area. Drinks were very pricey.
I thought the hotel was an ideal situation for the Arena and for shopping. Good for a one or two night stay. Clean and friendly. The only negative was the size of the food area it was very frustrating because it was terribly congested and too narrow. The food was good for the price but didn't like the experience of getting the food on my plate. Ideal location with helpful friendly staff. I would use the hotel again
great central location at reasonable price there was obvious refurb work going on but i suppose this is only temporary and didn't really affect our stay. Oldham street can be pretty noisy in the middle of the night but can only really be expected with such a central location.
horrendous place to stay
Good location Badly run, didnt feel comfortable staying there, dirty..housekeeping skills were atrocious.
The staff were very friendly, it was central. It was clean but basic. I was happy with this beacause my expectations matched the online advertisement..good value for money. My evening shower was not the warmest..
nothing no towels, breakfast consisted of bread, a kettle and toaster.
Clean room, friendly staff, surprisingly dark and quiet for innercity Manchester. Excellent price. Unfortuantely, lots of problems. There was no toilet in my room and the external one was across the stairlanding making nightime use rather difficult. Furthermore it had no soap and had run out of toilet paper. My room was a bit cold and the television did not work. The bed had a plastic undersheet which made it very uncomfortable. The breakfast hours were very restrictive. All easily fixable problems but made for a tough night. Still good value for money, however.
in the centre. very good location some facility example: TV didn't work
No hot water, leaking skylight, no clean cutlery or glasses at breakfast, debris in milk. Decor shabby - wallpaper peeling off. No bar facilities, No toilet in room. Communal toilet covered in poo. No lift. Loud music from local club till 2.30am, Basically the worst hotel we have ever stayed in.
Location Old, musty smell. Noise from bar below.
Vicinity of the hotel to the the railway station and city center. The heating was too strong.
Staff Friendliness and also having a kitchen were you could make yourself a tea or coffee 24 hours a day.
Really lovely staff who fostered a welcoming atmosphere Could do with larger secured storage
I've stayed in budget accommodation before and I must say this is the best I have seen. I paid extra to have my own double en-suite room and I recommend it to anyone, very comfortable and clean. Dragging my suitcase up/down lots of stairs!
The bed was so comfortable and very friendly atmosphere with staff. Facilites are great and up-to-date. The amount of stairs, but good for fitness levels I suppose!
The stuff is very helpfull, the hostel very clean and 5 minutes walk from the canter of Manchester.. Will visit again!
The large room, very big bed and a good shower. The breakfast.
Pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable, informative staff. Clean and tidy. The bed was big enough for the two of us but was somewhat lacking in comfort. The kitchen was not particularly appealing. Unfortunately the location of the hotel makes it subject to noisey traffic - particularly buses. [Our recommendation would be subject to these comments.]
Good position: near the centre and reasonable price
Basic budget accommodation, clean and tidy with friendly atmosphere and helpful staff
Facilities were basic but adequate. Friendly and informal. I did not like the fact that the dormitories were mixed. I ended up being the only female in a dormitory of men. I found out next morning that another guy was a lone guy in a dormitory of girls. Surely it would make more sense to allocate all females to one dorm and all males to another.
The high points were location and the included breakfast (probably the best free breakfast I've ever had at a hostel in the UK). The hostel is located right in the trendy Northern Quarter and is quite close to Manchester Picadilly. Great for solo travel and for young people looking to explore the hipster paradise of Northern Manchester. The facilities left a lot to be desired. Ancient bathroom facilities, heinous showers that only let out cold water in short spurts, and thin mattresses through which the wire of the bed pokes maliciously.
Location It as soooooo dirty, old, disgusting
