Very convenient location right next to Osaka station. I was staying on business and it was a very basic hotel - would recommend more for travellers/backpackers.
The location is great! Just right next to the train station and with the bus interchange you can go to many different locations, including the airports via the airport limousine. Overall its been a good deal, but if you don't mind walking 5 more min, you can get better value for your money in the Hotel New Hankyu ANNEX, which is run by the same company, yet offers rooms that are cleaner, newer and the ANNEX hotel overall is more quiet, not to mention you can safe around 1000 JPY per room. I found the Hotel New Hankyu (not ANNEX) a bit too noisy and I was unlucky with the view and even though it was a non-smoking room, I got a fair dosage of cold smoke thru the aircon system.
This is the best location hotel in Osaka, Hotel located in young fasionable area in Umeda, direct access from Midosuji underground and Hankyu Umeda line which can direct to Kyoto, Nara, Kobe of major sightseeing city 30min. Many nice restaurants in the hotel and outside hotel. Most enjoying things is that Largest electrice depatment store in front of Hotel and fasion department. Nothing
The location was great and the breakfast was excellent. No free wi-fi, and the fee to conect to the internet was such a rip off!!
Location is great! Front desk staff always has trouble with reservation. I've stayed here several times and it's always a problem at check-in.
Friendly staff, excellent service, not to expensive, great loacation
how all the staff were willing to help at all hours of the day and their english was superb!
Friendly staff, great lounge on the 35th with live music.
Great location for a great hotel Wifi not complimentary. At a rate of $17/day I think it is too expensive...
Excellent service .. I forgot my passport in the safety box They contacted me directly and asked me how do I want to receive it.
concierge is very good no welcome fruits, nobody helping to open heavy entrance door, poor choices for breakfast. At least for New Year they could do something nicer for breakfast.
Property is nice great staff. Rooms are very small. No air conditioning is a definite minus. 75 degrees outside and only option is to use the heat. Very noisy but hotel staff was accommodating to move room.
Free bus to station partly compensated for distance. Lounge prices were excessively high: 1300 yen for a cup of coffee (3 times the Starbucks prices), but there is nowhere else to sit to conclude a short business meeting.
the comfort of the bed
Hotel staff are well trained and they communciate with each other well. They are efficient and at the same time hospitable. Great location for those travellers, using railway or bus connections to other cities. No individual safe deposit box in room. No business centre facility.
Room was nice/clean, great view, connected to main train station. Staff were very helpful (accidentally booked in a smoking room, they found me an alternate, non-smoking room despite being very full).
The hotel is in the Osaka railway station which is very comfortable. The shopping center is located around the station. Perfect for a short stay where you have direct access shopping, transportation, restaurants and amusement. The rooms are more spacious than an average business hotel in Japan. I had a nice view from my hotel room. Most rooms are located on 20+ floors. You could hear some street noise from the amusement area, but it was still okay for me.
Location at Osaka JR station very convenient
The location. Close to the train station Had to take smoking section
Located above railway station. Also high enough to keep above city noise so a good sleep.
Nice rooms, strategically located, very convenient and close to everything. None
The location is really convenient, and there is free internet facility at the hotel room. The room is super small, smallest hotel room I have ever been, lucky it was quiet modern and clean, although I would have preferred Hilton if I knew it was just across the road. Also while there was free Internet, the PC was super slow (My room was AMD 1 Ghz with 512MB memory)..
The service from the staff, their politeness, smile and assistance.
the room is clean, the bathroom is correct, the swimming pool and the sana excellent the level of English of the staff !
Location is perfect. 10 min from Osaka Station.
During a one month visit to the Kansai area this was the best hotel I stayed at among several in both Osaka and Kyoto including two 'luxury' hotels. The ANA Crowne knows about balance of service. The entire staff was professional, well organized and provided the smoothest, most comfortable and truly accommodating environment. Everyone knew what they were doing and worked well as an efficient skilled team. I have only praise for this hotel. I travel in Japan often and I plan to make The ANA Crowne my first and probably only choice in Osaka.
We had a room with a very nice view, having a lavish breakfast .
Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The bar near the lobby was absolutely great. Bartender was very genuinely kind and knowledgable. lady at check-in office was very curt in her communication (smaller woman with glasses). The hotels restaurant does not offer 24 hour room service, and the hotel does not allow deliveries, so if you find yourself hungry past the kitchen hours, you are screwed. Concierge is off duty after 10pm, so again, any late-night info is non-existent. Location was very far from any nearby attractions, even any row of shops/restaurants.
Located literally next to Osaka's Sky Tower and rotating garden/restaurant. Not far from Umeda station as well. Hotel is also very nice, but best of all was the service, which was impeccable.
A great hotel for a family on a budget. The quality is very high. Rooms are comfortable (but Japanese-cozy sized). The two best features was free internet that worked straightaway, and its location next to the Osaka train station. I give it only fair marks for safety and security because the lobby is on the 8th floor and the elevators are not keyed at the ground floor entrance (although there is door staff at the hotel entrance), and the windows actually open up onto little balconies/platforms that wrap around the building. That said, I never did feel uncomfortable about the arrangements.
Fantastic location. You follow the tracks toward the Osaka train station, pass an underground shopping area and you are there in less than 5 min. Everything is well maintained, a reasonably-priced French restaurant is next to the reception (8th floor). Nothing really.
Clean, convenient, comfortable. Staff were delightful. Easy walk to train station. Room was small but not cramped.
I planned a last minute trip to Kyoto, Japan. Although, initially I was disappointed that I couldn't stay in Kyoto (the hotels were all filled up), I eneded up being very glad that I stayed at Hotel Monterey, Osaka. The proximity (1/2 block) from the Osaka train station was terrific, and I used this train station as my hub to go to Kyoto, Nara, and Kobe. Also, the trip from the Osaka airport wasn't too bad at all. The thing I liked best about this hotel was how clean it was, and how comfortable the bed was. I don't know if this is common for all hotels in Japan, but I was glad to find these features in Hotel Monterey, Osaka. One thing I didn't like was that the restaurants in the hotel were quite pricey for me, and the hours limited. I also found it very confusing to find the hotel from the train station on the first day I arrived. There is another review that gives specific directions from the train station. I will see if I can find that again and add it onto this post. It's not the most spectacular hotel, but it did the job for me! Kyoto and surrounding areas are exquisite - have a wonderful trip!
Ive stayed at the Ginza location and thought Id give this one a try. They are pretty much identical- clean modern excellent location and courteous staff #40then again it is Japan#41. About 2 min from the subway and 4 from the JR station. From Kansai take JR train to Tennoji and then JR Osaka loop to Kyobashi Station. This took me less than an hour. Most of Osaka is about 10 min by subway from here. There is a well stocked convenience store and coffee shop on the ground floor and a few across the street. Across the street are also a shopping/restaurant complex and the Panasonic headquarters complex which has two floors of excellent restaurants #40catering to workers in the area so its good and fairly priced#41 and of course the cool Panasonic showroom. Another eating option is the Daiei department store next to Kyobashi Station. They have tons of prepared food as well as a big grocery store. As for safety of the area I dont remember seeing homeless people anywhere. And even if I did I always felt safe everywhere I went in the area- Im from a nice middle class area in the SF bay area and feel 10x safer in Osaka. I didnt even bother to take my laptop off of the desk when I went out during the day. The hotel does not have wifi #40surprisingly#41 but has free Ethernet- cable provided. *figure out how to turn your laptop into a hotspot and youre set!* I would stay here again and probably look for their chain on my next trip to Japan.
The security for each floor. Location was excellent for the trains. Not really. Train noise could bother some people.
Location and price. Front desk service was less than desired. Also, at ~8:00 p.m., the front desk failed to answer the phone. Maybe if the phone calls would roll over to the Hotel's operator after, it would help, instead of continually ringing with no one picking it up
