Cons:Your site made a reservation when the site had no cars. Additionally there was a waiting list for cars at that location! I had to call each agency directly which was the whole purpose for using Kayak

Cons:I had a confirmed reservation and when I contacted Payless directly they told me they had no cars to rent to me. This was during Hurricane Matthew and it was imperative we had a car to be able to evacuate the area. This put my family in danger. Fortunately I contacted enterprise and they were able to locate a car for me in the next town and we were able to get to safety. Lesson learned...cheapest is not always the best.

Cons:Arrived an hour late at Payless Savanna airport counter for pick up. Agent claimed reservation automatically cancelled 30 minutes after scheduled pick up. Told me to look at the clock which now showed 1:03 for a scheduled noon pick up. Agent would not make any effort to accommodate our late arrival. Only available car in inventory would cost twice the rate of the car we reserved. We rented from Thrifty.

Cons:We were told that there were no cars available (we had a reservation!!). Perhaps no cars would be available for 1.5 hours (that would make it 10:30pm). Referred us to Hertz where we were able to get a car, but of course for more money than our Payless reservation.

Cons:Despite having reserved a car, none were available when we showed up. The service was extremely rude -- they said the reservation was not "guaranteed", tried to charge us for an upgrade (given that our class wasn't available), and then said that in fact NO cars were available, and we were out of luck. They made no effort to help us find a substitute rental. Solid 0 out of 10.

Pros:I arrived a few hours late and they had given my car away. They tried to charge me double for the next size up. Or they told me I could "wait for one to come in." If you give my car away, give me another one at the same price, right?!?

Pros:Payless didn't even have a full size car for me, even though I had a confirmation of my reservation of a full size car; AND they told me that having a reservation for a car meant nothing, that it was just the same as NOT reserving a car and just walking to the desk and asking if they happened to have a car! They told me I was welcome to WAIT for a full size car, but they had no idea IF or WHEN a full size car would come in and be available for me, one hour, or two hours or more! I had to go next door to the Hertz counter, and rent a car without a reservation, which cost me DOUBLE what my Payless reservation was for!

Pros:Car was fine, if you like taxi cab yellow. Ran well, got decent mileage, plenty of room. Apparently was an upgrade at the last minute when we expressed dismay over being offered a smart car. We got a good deal on kayak.
Cons:Check in was difficult, took a long time. We were asked for our insurance policy number, never asked for that at a car rental station. Also our credit card is primary, not our auto insurance. If Payless needs that, they should alert customers in advance.

Pros:The Payless counter in Savannah is closed. A sign directed me to the Budget Rental Car counter which had a long line and only 2 agents. There were people standing around for hours waiting for a car to become available. We got lucky and didn't have to wait once we finally checked in, but the car we got was not cleaned. At that point, we had been in line for an hour, so we went ahead and took the dirty car. It smelled like sour milk, but at least it was the size we reserved and otherwise was issue-free.
Cons:More rental cars are definitely needed in Savannah!!
