Airport location. Friendly customer service, relatively quick and easy pick up and drop off. No hidden fees, no scams as other people suggested. The car was in mediocre shape; it did what we needed but it desperately needed new breaks (not too comforting to drive with all the hills on the island). Overall, good experience and will rent here again.

The pickup process could be easier. No indication as to where to go to find the car. Asked a lady who pointed us in the general direction. Then had to manhandle our suitcases up stairs because of no elevator or ramp. People running the rental lot were less than welcoming. Car was adequate. Ran well and it was very clean inside.

When we booked, it wasn’t clear that it was not AT the airport ad no one at the airport knew where it was, so we tried a treacherous walk to where the GPS said it was until we finally saw that they provided a shuttle. The staff was very efficient & once we picked up the vehicle things went smoothly.

The Thrifty staff at pickup were super rude, ignored us at the desk, and were very rude when asking for a deposit card and extra $200 payments tot take the rental we already paid for. They were not at all kind or helpful in explaining the process and were annoyed that we were even there. They were not all al helpful when our rental blew a flat tire and wanted to charge us $700 to toe us back to the airport. The tow would not take us to our air B&B to get our belongings which is 2 hours from the airport. They would only tow us back to the airport to miss the entire friends wedding so we can exchange the car and drive all the way back to our rental house to pick up our belongings. The car did not have a spare tire or my roadside items. 0/10 would not rent with Thrifty again.

This is the third time that I have paid for a car that the rental car company classifies as an intermediate, only to be given a compact or sub-compact SUV. this time it was a Kia Soul that according to the thrifty website is a compact car, not a intermediate, but you already know that. Your counter agents are well versed in attempting to upsell the client on insurance and toll road transponders. Under NYS law neither are required and I had my own transponder with me so I accepted neither. NYS and I are fully aware of these upsell techniques.

Horrible experience. I picked car up to a car with no brakes , filthy and no charger installed. I asked to replace car and was told I’m the one who picked an economy car. Rude! Then replaced car had faulty engine and brakes problems but I kept it since it as a hassle for them to replace. Car was also filthy. When I returned the car they told me I had to go vacuum the car from sand that had no foot mat. Rep stated on the paperwork it was 3 mats and was a lie. Only 2 back mats came with car. Only reason I didn’t score it poor is because I survived this death trap!

Rental agents very pushy with all the extras that some renters don’t need or desire. I purchased full coverage collision through Kayak for half of what dollar charges, and agents got rude and I was told that with my full coverage damage and collision coverage that I still needed theirs. Finally got them to decline their full coverage and got out of there. They still added pre paid gas charge, which I didn’t need cuz I alway fill the tank when I return rentals. Also this car was dented, scratched, missing hub cap, damage from prior rentals. I took pics., videos, and logged down all damage prior to leaving. In the states, this rental would have been on he auction block last year. Not happy at all with this experience. Will choose another place next time.

No pavement at the pick up office - you have to drag your suitcases through rocks. No ac area for family, only one person is allowed in the office (makes sense during pandemic), check in takes awhile, other people have to stay outside in the heat. Confusing shuttle service at the airport, local phone number is not provided, no shade in pickup area

The service at the counter both when we picked up and dropped off for excellent the car was very good on gas we only really used a quarter tank the only thing was there were some empty water bottles we found underneath the seats that rolled into the back but other than that the car was perfect the service was excellent it served its purpose

We reserved a car off site because it was much cheaper. We walked with our luggage to go pick up the car. Joe was our salesman, he was very friendly but added $31 per day coverage that I told him I didn't want. I was charged basically double for the car rental because of that. I will never rent from Avis again and will definitely check the fine print next time regardless of nice talking agents. Very unhappy!!

Our battery died twice. Had to take the car back to the airport. Parking in a St Thomas was awful so it wasn’t worth the money if the rental and we still needed to take cabs to get places that were astronomical. Next time I go to Caribbean it will be an all inclusive.

well, it took 2 hours to get my car; we ordered a luxury SUV and i was given a Nissan Kicks, which is no luxury SUV; i was overcharged initially; had to go back and fix everything. eventually they gave me another SUV (not the dodge durango we asked but a grand jeep); but was not pleasant.

We rented an SUV but when we arrived we were told that we’re none available and we’re forced to take a Nissan Altima for 5 adults. I showed the confirmation email to the Hertz team member and she just shrugged her shoulders and said there was nothing she could do. Was the worst experience I’ve ever had renting a car.
