Payless has great customer service for the situation we were out in. The insurance prices are crazy but at the end of the day it wasn’t Payless fault. This is a country requirement that we did understand prior to booking. The pick up was easy and Luis was great!! Drop off was simple as well and super friendly. Car was cleaned when we picked up and that was appreciated.

The check-in process took forever. It was a large line and at the beginning the attendance. Chatting among each other, Delaying the process. Finally, a young man came in. And checked in as many people as the previous to attendance did together. I’ve been to this car rental before, and it brought a memory of the last time we experience the same thing. Very frustrating.

I prepaid for my car only to get to the counter and wait for just under an hour. Once assigned a car, I again waited because I was then told my car was double booked. I finally got a car, and it was a great car. However, after turning it in on time I was charged for 3 additional days because they had me down as driving a completely different car. Definitely will Pay More next time and rent from someone else.

Getting from baggage claim to Payless terminal had to stand in long lines to get on the bus. The customer service agent was very nice and friendly. We ended up getting an electric car, but never told us about what charging stations we could use being not familiar with that type of electric car and where the charging stations were a big problem wasted a lot of time during our driving experience, trying to find chargers that would work.

Payless always comes through, the pickup and dropoff process is fast and easy never any issue.. The payless cars are very updated and reliable, the price is always affordable and the deposit is always given back as soon as you drop it off, no extra charges or fees.. I highly recommend them, been using them for the past 3 yrs everytime i travel and not 1 issue..

I booked through Kayak and upon arrival at my destination they informed me they didn't accept the payment type I carry. “If you had booked through our website you would have known that.” I was really frustrated and thankful another company had me covered and even price-matched so I wasn't bent over a barrel due to the situation.

My arriving flight was delayed by a few minutes. Then, for no obvious reason, we waited 30 minutes to get our checked luggage. I was 15 minutes past the ‘pickup time’ that I had entered on kayak, and the desk was closed. After a frustrating call to the Budget Call Center, I was told the airport location closed at the exact time I had booked the pickup for, and there was nothing they could do for me. A warning when I booked it and/or a call or text before they closed up for the night would’ve saved me a lot of middle-of-the-night frustration at the airport.

The price was double what was quoted on kayak website. The name of the company is not ACE it’s Charlie Car Rental. Terrible customer service, the car had sand all inside of it. I had purchased insurance through kayak they made me buy an additional insurance coverage. Just all around terrible experience. I would’ve absolutely picked another company if I knew this would’ve been the outcome. You should remove them from your website.

kayak was misleading. i booked the rental for sju but when i arrived the rental car company was not at the airport. very confusing. we waiting over 30min for a shuttle. then i paid much hiring than the advertised price. i wont book anything with kayak again and do the research myself to find a suitable rental car company.

To begin with, the amount quoted was definitely not what I received from Kayak. They obligated to take their insurance because I didn’t show proof, ( a letter), indicating that my insurance would cover vehicle. Otherwise, I couldn’t take the vehicle. That’s real bad business and will NOT EVER recommend Dollar rental to anyone and maybe even Kayak because of false quote.

You should have told me it was not on the airport property. You need to clearly disclose that you need to wait for a shuttle to go off property to get your car. Finding the shuttle is hard and takes too long. Cheap price is good but not if you don't disclose the inconveniences,

Upon arrival from CT, I was told my reservation had been canceled the night before! More outrageous thing was that I was forced to take insurance full cover!!! Either that or stay stranded without a car. I believe that was rip off and illegal, since i had declined insurance because my own insurance covers rentals. Staff was not helpful and did not seem to care that they took advantage of travelers with a blank stare. Also, I was charged a whole day plus taxes, fees and insurance for returning the car one hour late!!! Won’t rent from Dollar again. Better get Uber. Stay away from this company!!!

The staff was very friendly. I rented a Jeep Wrangler and received a Honda CRV. I would not have mentioned it, but it was specific that it was a Wrangler to enjoy the environment on this vacation. Our flight was late, so they cancelled the Jeep and gave it to someone else after two hours. Nowhere does it say after two hours your car is cancelled ( I would’ve called if I knew this information). They did not call to confirm.

We waited over 1 hr in line for this car. Then they gave us a cat and then said, oh no you have to wait another 30 minutes for another car. This one is rented! -1 1/2 hrs wait to leave Thrifty. We missed our dinner RSVP. Terrible service at the counter. terrible!

Our flight was delayed. We called to let them know 4 hours prior to our pick-up time. They told us they would only hold our reservation for 1hr (our flight was delayed 2 hours), and after that they'd give it to the 1st walk-in and we'd have to get a car in a first come first serve basis. If we had failed to show up on time for our appointment, I'd completely understand if they gave it away. But we called to let them know we'd been delayed and that we were still planning on renting the car for our 2 week visit!

usave is next to the dennys. tricky to get into the area from surrounding roads, pay close attention (we went in the one-way street wrong way on return but this doesnt seem to be a big deal in PR). can get busy in office, often only one staff around. airport shuttle is convenient. car was basic but clean and worked well enough for our week trip (had a maintenance alert on it for oil but the oil had just been changed but alert not cleared according to staff - seemed ok for trip).

We requested a large SUV - like an expedition. Instead we got a palisade. We had 8 adults and luggage for a week, so it was extremely cramped and uncomfortable anywhere we went. The Hertz team initially told us that is would be 35 minutes while they cleaned the vehicle for us. But they just immediately gave us the palisade. We were happy to wait for the correct size vehicle, but they would not give it to us. Extremely disappointed in Hertz this trip. We would have even settled for two vehicles instead, but they would not accommodate. I’ll rent somewhere else next time.

They didn’t have a car for me. The customer service at the station was awful. The young lady at the desk couldn’t have cared less about the fact they had no car, despite me booking one. The main depot didn’t even answer the phone to her so she could get an update. I eventually walked out after I was an hour late after my booking time, with no car. So disgusted. I am an ex Avis employee so it’s even worse!

Nothing. I arrived at 10:00 AM. I waited in the hot garage with mosquitos for 45 minutes. We got our car after 11. The computer system was down so the 2 customers in front of me took about 25 minutes each.

Cons:

We showed up at 10:00 AM, we should have gotten our car before 11....We could have been allowed to wait in the AC instead of the hot mosquito infested garage... The employee could have moved a little quicker. I would not rent here again. The car gas tank could have been full instead of 5/8's, so many things could have been better.

We had a two week rental. On first day of the tental the agency called saying they had no cars leaving us stranded at our Airbnb. He said they might have a car later or maybe it would be 3 days. For hours after that call they would not answer their phone.. Finally they did answer and he had one come in.

The car was a good value... until I was not able to drop it off. The site did not open until 8am, with no drop box for early return. I had a flight at 9am so I was not able to keep the car and had to drop it off a day early. Their option was to leave the car at the airport and pay a fee of $100, if there were parking spots. Being the holidays there were no parking spots at the airport so I had to drop the car off early and use Uber. Since I was not staying in San Juan Uber cost an additional $140. It would have been nice to have this information, hours available for drop off, before getting to San Juan. Next time I will make sure the car rental is at the airport and not off site with restricted hours.

Very slow pickup and check in. Almost 2 hours after landing to leave with van. Van was newer and clean. $9 per day for tolls when we only spent $2 total. Drop off was also a slow process. I think their computers were down. One employee really helped though by driving us to the airport in our rental so we didn’t have to transfer luggage. Big thank you there.

Worth the money/value but they do move a little slow. Anticipate waiting for them at the airport, waiting for your car when you arrive, and waiting for your shuttle when your trip ends. Plan in the extra time and the value is well worth it.

Convenient location in an older building along with a fuel station and a car wash. the rental agent was very cordial and showed me the return location (was confusing) as the building driveway had tight clearances. It was really hard to find the shuttle driver and when we did it took us to a sketchy feeling part of town took us into a warehouse and had us talk with a representative with a very heavy accent over a computer screen. We were not told where to bring the car back - turns out we had to find the sketchy warehouse back and they could not take us back to our hotel even though it was closer than the airport.

There was a minor scratch at the bottom of the front bumper which is not visible unless you are on your knees. As far as I am concerned we didn’t do anything to cause it. It may be already there and we didn’t notice when we took the care at midnight. At any rate my gripe is with how they handled this situation. We bought most expensive coverage possible with them which is twice the rental price itself. But during checkout they stalled us because of this issue even though we told them that we are cutting too close to our departure time and requested them to call the insurance and get it reimbursed because we already bought the coverage. But they insisted on us calling them and we couldn’t because we didn’t have local mobile plan. After lot of back and forth they checked other contracts on the vehicle and probably figured out that the damage was already there and the let us off the hook. It was a happy ending but the whole drama could have been avoided if they had customer service at the forefront of their minds.

I had to pay so much extra because apparently the insurance I had didn’t cover Expedia/economy car rental despite said insurance covering every other car rental agency. So either I was lied to or it’s just economy and I’m never going to rent from them/expedia again. I was also given a number to call travel guard which is not able to cover after the rental purchase was made. The car was also full of dog hair. In total this rental cost me 200$ instead of the 40 +30 I paid for the rental and insurance initially. Huge rip off. Took forever and is so inconvenient to get to without a car! Insane. Never again.

Took a long time to get the car. First of all, there shuttle only comes to remote rental car center near LAX. You need to take a bus to get there. Then you take there shuttle to get to their office. It took me almost an hour to get the get and be on my way. There were two agents working the desk and they were really helpful but, the whole process was slow. I had to wait a long time.

Total rip off like priceline who mentioned Unlimited kms on the invoice and then refused to refund me. They started showing me terms and policies when the Invoice clearly shows Unlimited kms. Spolied my trip. Lost my money and had to book another place. Waste of time. Terrible experience.

I had a good experience with Routes this time. It took 10 minutes to be picked up at the rental center even though it was 1 in the morning. The car was great and when I brought the car back they dropped me at the terminal.

Horrible - do not book with NextCar. They denied my car insurance because I was not the primary policyholder. I have full coverage insurance, so there was no logistical reason to deny it. The supplemental insurance cost as much as the rental itself. I was never told at the time of booking that I would be forced to use their insurance if I wasn’t the primary policyholder. I was only told so 24 hours out from my booking. I’m actively trying to get a refund for this.

The facility was dingy and the pick up and drop off processes were over complicated and extremely slow. My experience was fine but at least a third of the other customers ahead of me had issues with their reservation. The car itself was fine and the price was good, but I feel like I won a lottery of sorts and I don't think I'll choose them again.

The car was dirty when we picked it up. It only had a single floor mat il and it was in the back. It was missing a hubcap and had body damage to the right rear. The final price was much higher than was quoted. The listing said that the car was "in terminal" but it was not it required a shuttle ride. Overall experience was poor. I would rather have a bus pass than rent from these people again.

A representative never showed up at the airport to meet me, they never tried to contact me to say there was an issue, and the phone number given never worked. I called 24 times throughout the day. I ended up renting from Europcar at the counter for three times the price. I think it's a SCAM. I was in Vienna.

I couldn’t find the location and no shuttle to the location of the car. The website description makes it seem as though it’s the airport area. It is not. Tried to call the facility but no answer. We had to call from the airport twice to get a pickup to the rental location which was 10 minute ride . Once there we found out that they did not recognize our insurance and I had to pay $260 for insurance . This now made my rental car more expensive than what was at the airports . Drop off went smooth , but we were dropped off at the rental location other than airport drop off for the airport .

Very bad. We paid by card $14 for two days, but when we went to get the car they ask us to pay 7 times this price plus $150 as a deposit. Why not to tell us the truth from the beginning, so we know the exact price. I am asking for paying me back the $14.
