June 15,2015 Could not get into our room until 4. Notified them we would arrive around 11 A.M. Hoped for noon or 1 P.M. room. Manager finally got involved. The rest of our stay was awesome. The staff is very friendly and excellent service. Stayed for four days. Wonderful location to beach and easy walking to shopping, farmer's markets etc. Wondered why with the remodel the bathrooms are small--one sink. T.C. on staff was the best!
Room was comfortable and had nice amenities. Nickel and dimed to death. $7 to print out boarding passes in their business center. Forty dollars for breakfast. Thirty dollars for two drinks. Once I've paid for a nice hotel room, I like to think the hotel I've paid for is my home for the few nights I'm there. I felt like the Shore's mark. Can't even give me a cup of coffee? I won't be back. $8 bottle of water in the room. $35 towels mixed into the regular towels? I am not your huckleberry.
Great location across the street from the Santa Monica Pier. LEED Gold building. Super high prices not at all justified by the experience. Stiff, unfriendly staff. Even after the very high room rates, there were no extras included. Virtually everything is a la carte extra cost -- from beach towels ($35/towel), parking (>$45/day), etc. The double queen room layout wasn't at all "family friendly". We loved Santa Monica, but didn't like the Shore Hotel at all.
Everything was first class. Staff is the best, made my wife and I feel important. Could not do enough for us. Everyone checked to make sure our stay was first class. Need better pillows and lower parking rate for guests of the hotel.
When we said that the overnight parking was too much, they gave us a discount.
Location was central to many places within walking distance. Staff is very friendly. Views were disappointing, the decor was dark, the room had light switches that did nothing and not worth the money. Food was of the same quality of a standard class hotel.

The intimacy of the hotel - it is private and feels far less commercial than the larger international hotels.
Location and 1930's vibe. No lobby to speak of because it was undergoing renovation.
Location General aesthetic of hotel The stupid snack and mini bar set-up... Too much stuff around the room. I don't want to be bombarded with things to buy when I'm in a private room.
I've now stayed at The Georgian twice. It feels like a home away from home. I love it! The staff is courteous and kind. The accommodations were lovely. The all-day food service was very convenient (and delicious). The proximity to shops and restaurants, the beach and pier is impressively walk-able. And the view is incredible!
Location. Friendly staff. Unique, charming building. Taxes, fees, and parking added ~$100 to an already-pricey room. We were also somehow billed for minibar purchases we did not make.

Had the charm of an old classic hotel, yet the rooms were fully updated and quite comfortable. Great small hotel feeling. Close to the pier, shopping, and dining options Just hate paying for parking, yet you are right in the middle of Santa Monica. Just an pet peeve, not a negative for the hotel.
Staff was very friendly and helpful! Construction noise made sleeping difficult.
The hotel is very welcoming and and has an overall relaxed vibe. excellent location. it's very vintage in its deco look, but well maintained. you feel like you've stepped back in time. quite charming. and, the staff is very gracious without being intrusive. I actually have no negatives. my experience was ideal!
The hotel decor was pretty sterile. The Viceroy across the street was much more esthetically pleasing. The pool was ok, not great. The coffee bar was under staffed and looked temporary. Good for location. Staff cheerful, but not what I expected.
They did not have our reservation when we checked in; after calling twice to confirm. During those two calls, I was put on hold for thirty minutes the first time and eight minutes the second time..finally, they confirmed. Yet, upon arrival, they did not have our reservation and I had to check my confirmation email on my phone to prove it. No "sorry" gifts/amenities were given.
Everyone went above and beyond to make the stay comfortable.
Santa Monica is the best place to stay in LA for pleasure, and for business travelers with a little extra time for commute. The Shangri-La is the hippest, best place on the water. We've stayed at Shutters and Casa del Mar - eaten at Viceroy. Shangri La beats them all. authentic updated Art Deco, great size, pool, rooftop bar with view of the Santa Monica pier and beach. No question - the go-to place in LA . The New York Times Travel Section agrees. And this is not paid or sponsored - I am a real person - stayed with my daughter on her school break. Loved it! lovely room but we upgraded and the pool are and roof top very nice. Our only concern were the staff who didnt really have a clue apart from the bell boy and valets. Wake up calls always 15 -30 mins late/fridge didnt get replenished unless we asked
The hotel was beautiful & the staff was very friendy. The food was very good & the location was perfect for our honeymoon.

online it told me that the pool and bar would be open. Felt deceived!!! Bathroom door was broken, dirt in the bathtub, too much light in the AM, workers making lots of noise at 8am to fix pool area, bar on roof and pool not open even though it said it was online and that was the whole reason to go there. Took my boyfriend for 40th and highly disappointed. I was embarrassed!!!!!

All the Art Deco features. Its a beautifully renovated hotel. We booked the Deluxe room because it was a bigger room & couldnt really fault it. The bathroom has a big bath tub in it & the room is full of Art Deco detail. Hotel staff were extremly friendly & helpful. Hotel is right across from the beach therefore great views. If you have time go up to the rooftop bar. Great views. No water provided in the rooms. Internet facilities for people that dont have a laptop arnt that convenient. Internet is only free for the first 15 min & then you need to pay. Only one computer available right in the lobby no no real privacy either, very distracting. The hotel room rates are a little pricy but we enjoyed our stay.

Please don't waste your money The staff was extremely rude, flowers were delivered to me that I didn't get untill a day and a half later, room service was poor, room is dirty, I would rate this a two star hotel.
The city was cleaning a parking garage opposite of the hotel during the night for two nights in a row, which was extremely noisy, therefore I checked out after two nights. I had a small room without a desk an therefore I think $300 per night was too much.

The location is good - very close to the beach and restaurants Horrible customer service - they overcharged me for a number of items, including mini bar purchases that we didn't make, and then 'investigated' while we waited 20 minutes for them to tell us they had no receipts. They never apologized after essentially suggesting we were lying. They rented out the entire pool and outdoor area for a Lincoln car event so guests had zero access to the outdoor pool area, which was a main selling point of this hotel. The carpet in the hallways had duct tape in many places because it was old and ripped. When I initially called to tell them we were checking in late, I had to call back three times because they first transferred me to the wrong person, then put me directly into voicemail. When I finally spoke to reception to confirm they would hold our king bed high floor room, they said they don't guarantee a high floor, which is exactly what we paid for and I told them that was listed on my reservation. After arguing over it, they confirmed I would be on a high floor. Overall, customer service was lacking and you didn't feel at any time that you were a priority - more of an inconvenience for them actually. Not worth the price they charge and definitely not a relaxing experience.

It didn't have the elegance - seemed cheesy w decor. We were sad it wAsnt on the beach for $650 a night. Dining room was not inviting - just a sad time overall but the beds were soft and linens were good.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating! Property, decor, food & beverga and amenities are in need of a serious renovation. This is currently far from many other JW Marriott luxe experiences I have had.
Shower would flood whenever we used it and the toilet kept malfunctioning.

-Very friendly and helpful staff! -Rooms have been nicely updated and were nicer than I expected -AMAZING location, especially for the price! -Was able to check in prior to 4pm and extend checkout to 12pm -Free breakfast foods and coffee in the lobby (we didn't take advantage, but I didn't know they would be provided) -Able to hold our bags between checkout and our flight (thank you!) Overall very satisfied and plan on staying here again. Looking forward to their lobby update to match the rooms! Lobby is currently very, very minimal but looks like it'll be nice when finished! -Remodeling and there is no lobby (just keep that in mind) -Because we booked through Kayak, the hotel was not able to guarantee a double room booking, even though I paid extra for two beds -Did end up receiving a room with a king bed and pull out couch. King bed was very comfortable. Couch was very uncomfortable -I would NOT book this room through Kayak! Call Wyndham directly. Between the hotel and the third party, you'll get stuck in the middle if they can't promise a double bed. Each will tell you to call the other service and that there is nothing they can do, leaving you potentially in the lurch.
One of the best customer service experiences I've had at a hotel in years. The front desk staff, the valet, housekeepers, and the service technician were all excellent. The service technician had to come to the room because the heat wouldn't turn on and he arrived in less than 5 minutes and had the heat working in less 3 minutes, and was polite and amiable. The hotel was clean, and in a great location (walking distance to the pier, good restaurants and bars, and the 3rd street promenade shopping area). Didn't use the pool but it looked nice. Overnight parking at the hotel is an extra $40; in my opinion, it should be included for guests.
The location was great only a short walk to the pier. The rooms were clean enough. There was a pool. The elevator worked. The elevator was busy during the day with cleaning staff. Our rooms didn't get clean until very late in the day and then barely. There was a pool but no one told us how to find it. There was a resturant in the hotel but no signs for it or any thing in the information in the room about its even being there. I paid extra for the ocean view witch was almost none existent. Not my best experience with Wyndham

Comfy bed, proper hair dryer, complimentary fast wifi in room, complimemtary dressing gowns, ipod docking station in room, facilities excellant, location is perfect for pier/beach as you are literally across the road, also very near 3rd street too for shops and reataurants. Staff very helpful and friendly.. Would defiently stay here again and again. I couldnt stay longer!!

I like how close it is to the Santa Monica Pier. It really is very close to it. I booked a King bed...and when I got there I was told there weren't any. I think the worst thing possible for a hotel, is to place a reservation and then have that reservation be unexpectedly modified.
In front of pier The rooms were dark and poorly decorated facing a very busy and extremely noisy highway. Though the hotel is facing the sea, it is very difficult to get to the entrance. The parking was exorbitant: $43 a night!!! I do not recommend this hotel
The service was amazing! The location couldn't be more ideal! The shuttle for the marathon was right behind the hotel. The finish line was right on the pier. Perfect place to just walk to 3rd St. promenade to carb up before the race. The room was quiet and comfortable. There was quite a bit of construction going on so parking was a bit confusing. We had to move our car before 11pm to the public parking garage. Also, late check out was not available, so if you are not staying that night of the marathon you would need to check out that morning and have them hold your luggage.

Location is great. Unless you have one of the few rooms facing the ocean, you're just looking out over the parking garage into a space that's loud with air conditioner white noise. The rooms are fine, but small and unimpressive given the price.

There was a problem with my reservation. But the person in charge really made me feel welcome, and apologized and offered good deals. I was very happy with my room. My TV was a little broken.

There was no parking, only for 10 cars - no ocean view, bad servis, if the brekfest is include, then you need to now that - it is only a cooffe and juise!!!!!! I will never come back to this hotel!

The location is the best thing this hotel has... I didn't like the paper thin walls / ceiling, the noisy fridge, the tiny bathroom, the shower that only had "boiling hot" as a temperature, unfriendly staff. Very expensive for the standard we got.
Excellent staff. The first hotel to provide free bottled water while staying at hotel. Parking fee was very expensive - especially compared to near by hotels charging only $15 per night while Hotel California charged $26
I was obligated in paying for one night stay even though I had to cancel my stay the day I arrived. the reason I had to leave the hotel was because the odor of the room was very strong-whether it was from the cleaning or the deodarizing products that were used. I have bad allergies and asthma and I was having a terrible time breathing, but the hotel clerk told me he couldnt refund the money because I didnt give them 48 hrs notice. how could I? The clerk told me he couldnt refund ,my money because I booked he reservation through booking.com, but when booking.com replied to my email, I was told the manager wouldnt refund my money. I would never reccommend this hotel to anyone and I am very dissappointed with the end results!
That it was next to Hotel Loews You can hear everything going on around you. That I thought it was on the beach side and not next to the noisy highway Ocean avenue. That we ordered one type of room which we would have to wait for one night, so we checked out the following day.

An individual facility unlike the usual chains which was why I chose it and was not disappointed.. Rooms small but the beds are great one block from the beach. Limited facilities but close to everything you might need. Staff very friendly

It is a great location and the recent remodeling is very tasteful. The beds are a huge upgrade and very, very comfortable. The new landscaping was very attractive. There was a birthday party going on next door to (room 204) on the evening of November 13th and the hotel staff didn't seem to do anything to get them to quiet down. The party and loud voices were outside our room.
We checked in, saw the room and check straight out! Dump! We booked it for the location but it was way below standard described. It was over $200 for a shabby room with very poor security, no air con and basic room. We did not feel safe there so we promptly moved to another hotel. Unless you like very basic 'motel' style rooms, avoid!
its location could do with some modernisations
Great location for the beach in Santa Monica, literally across the road and down to the carpark. The other hotels nearer Santa Monica Boulevard are not as good for access to the beach due to the Pacific Coast Highway. Ideal for Surfers, lessons every day on the beach only about 100m away. Hotel felt safe and staff were great and very helpful, some of the room fittings are not brand new but it has been nicely renovated recently. Would stay here again. No breakfast facilities, but would be difficult to arrange as there is not a suitable area for guests. Plenty of cafes nearby though.
